Amazing Race Season 32 Premieres Wednesday October 14 on CBS!

Amazing Race Host Phil Keoghan Talks Season 32's 'Biggest Hurdle,' Why Show Doesn't Need Twisty Gimmicks

It’s been a long 16 months since Colin Guinn and Christie Woods were crowned the victors of the last Amazing Race, but the wait for the next globetrotting relay is finally over.

On Wednesday, October 14 (at 9/8c on CBS), host Phil Keoghan kicks off a brand new circuit, as 11 fresh duos take off from the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles en route toward an exciting race around the world. And if the thrill of exploring the globe with a loved one isn’t enough, the $1 million prize should certainly motivate them!

Among those jockeying for that hefty paycheck are former NFL stars DeAngelo Williams and Gary Barnidge, Olympians Kellie Wells-Brinkley and LaVonne Idlette, and pro volleyball players Riley and Maddison McKibbin. (View the complete list of teams here.)

Ahead of the premiere’s starting gun, we spoke to Keoghan about the challenges that lie ahead for the racers, the beauty of watching the Race during a pandemic and what he believes is “the core of what Race is about.”

The cast looks fun.

And there's a gay couple!

I like Nathan and Cody from Tennessee.

They're cute!

by Anonymousreply 210/12/2020

Did anyone watch the premiere?

by Anonymousreply 310/15/2020

I watched last night. It was fun. So good to see average (for the most part) people instead of Big Bother people or other social media influencers.

by Anonymousreply 410/15/2020

If CBS once again decides to put Phil in tight pants so we can his bulging crotch, I'm there for it! Last season, they were very careful to keep him in loose fitting jeans and they did their best to shoot him from the waist up. Pissed me off.

by Anonymousreply 510/15/2020

Wasn't the season cut short because of Covid?

I thought that all the racers were sent home after the first leg of the race?

by Anonymousreply 610/15/2020

That was Survivor, Jane at R6

by Anonymousreply 710/15/2020

For R6, CBS has been holding on to this completed season for quite some time and has finally decided to show it. The one that was discontinued due to COVID was the NEXT season (that CBS would probably have sat on for a year or more).

by Anonymousreply 810/15/2020

Who is "Jane," R7?

by Anonymousreply 910/15/2020

So sad that old people don't exist on the Amazing Race any more.

It used to be so much more fun when the cast was all over the place.

Mirna and Shmirna, and all of the other weirdos that we used to love, are no longer welcome on the show.

What a bummer.

by Anonymousreply 1010/15/2020

Loved that they showed the watermelon smashing in that contestant's face. Multiple times.

by Anonymousreply 1110/16/2020

Agreed, R11. Not only was that the greatest moment ever on the show, it may well be the greatest moment on reality TV overall.

by Anonymousreply 1210/16/2020

Do we want the gay couple to win?

by Anonymousreply 1310/21/2020

It's kinda sad to be airing this now. It's too much of a reminder of the way life use to be and is now gone.

by Anonymousreply 1410/21/2020

The dark hair guy in the gay couple should kick the blonde to the curb. The blonde is the one who refused to reread the clue. The dark haired one was too diplomatic about it, saying "we" didn't read the clue. The dark haired one was also right about who should do the circus thing.

by Anonymousreply 1510/21/2020

Nice to see a man-on-man kiss on network TV.

by Anonymousreply 1610/23/2020

I've always been a fan of the show (except for the horrible family season, only watched one episode), but for some reason I'm just bored with it now. Maybe too much time has lapsed between seasons, I dunno.

by Anonymousreply 1710/25/2020

The gay couple is over the top annoying. Sitting here hoping they fall into the Amazon.

by Anonymousreply 1810/28/2020

I like the Asian married couple. They’re competitive and yet very likable, and very respectful to each other.

The queens are too queeny.

by Anonymousreply 1910/28/2020

100% agree, R19, on both fronts. I really want the Chinese-American married couple to win.

by Anonymousreply 2010/28/2020

This is a gay site, we need to support our own, r18.

by Anonymousreply 2110/28/2020

I was rooting for the gay team, even though they are a bit annoying, till tonight's episode. They didn't seem to have any reason for disliking the nerd team, and U turning them was not only mean, but incredibly bad strategy.

by Anonymousreply 2210/28/2020

[quote]This is a gay site, we need to support our own,

DL has always disowned gay contestants on TAR, Survivor and BB if they are judged to be too flaming.

by Anonymousreply 2310/28/2020

Yes, R21, groups adhering strictly to tribe mentality is so great for all societies. Grow up. Blind fealty is nearly as bad as blind abhorrance.

by Anonymousreply 2410/29/2020

I had not idea until right now that Jaymes the Chippendale is dating Jonathan Bennett.

by Anonymousreply 2510/29/2020

Read the damn clues! How do people still not get that?

And 34 minutes looking for the clue? Those girls are stooopid.

by Anonymousreply 2610/29/2020

I'm loving the brothers from Hawaii. They're hot and gay-friendly. And they seem nice too!

by Anonymousreply 2710/29/2020

SEVEN HOURS??? Those idiots drove around for seven hours? I guess if you are what people think of as pretty you get used to pretty privilege.

by Anonymousreply 2811/13/2020

[quote]I had not idea until right now that Jaymes the Chippendale is dating Jonathan Bennett.

You must not be a frequent visitor here, as there have been a number of lengthy threads about this couple.

by Anonymousreply 2911/13/2020

His COCK is so amazing! It's like 8 inches soft. I've seen it, through his pants, in passing.

by Anonymousreply 3011/13/2020

The gays are annoying.

by Anonymousreply 3111/13/2020

I don't know why, but watching Gary struggle to get into that tiny car was kinda hot.

by Anonymousreply 3211/18/2020

The gays hate the white nerds in abundance

by Anonymousreply 3311/18/2020

The gays are like two 13 year old girls....ugh. They hate my hot husband Leo, so I hate them.

by Anonymousreply 3411/18/2020

I'm happy for the fact that the gay guys are so comfortable with their queeniness, but they still make me cringe. I know that's my problem not theirs.

I agree Leo is adorkable.

I totally lost track of the brother-sister team at the end. Was it the editing, or am I just a moron?

by Anonymousreply 3511/19/2020

I want the beard brothers, both of them. The gay guys are totally cringe worthy.

by Anonymousreply 3611/19/2020

I keep forgetting which teams are related and which are married.

by Anonymousreply 3711/19/2020

The only married team is Hung and Chee. The volleyball bros., the blonde girls, and the Indian-Americans are siblings.

by Anonymousreply 3811/19/2020

Until yesterday I assumed the Indians were a couple. Btw, they are both very good looking.

by Anonymousreply 3911/19/2020

In case you didn't know, there is another thread that seems more active.

by Anonymousreply 4011/19/2020

What with the anti gay hatred for the gay guys on here?

by Anonymousreply 4111/19/2020

The gay guys are cartoons, they give every gay person a bad name
