Why do gay guys on these shows always have to be skinny nelly queens? Why can’t they ever cast gay MEN?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 14, 2020 9:50 PM |
I always wondered if the villainous queens on Season 1, Team Guido, are/were DLers?

I liked the queens years ago who took a break from racing to go shopping in Singapore.

Bumping so this hopefully becomes the official thread tonight. I'm excited the show is back.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 15, 2020 12:11 AM |
Bumpity
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 15, 2020 1:01 AM |
The gays look much better in the pics they shared than they do in motion on the show.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 15, 2020 1:05 AM |
The Little Nelly Boy sure seems stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 15, 2020 5:02 AM |
I know there's only one gay couple, but almost all the male pairs seem really gay.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 15, 2020 5:34 AM |
I wondered about the rednecks. Guess we’ll never find out.
Some of the male couples are brothers or father/son.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 15, 2020 6:14 AM |
The two former NFL players are definitely fucking.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 15, 2020 6:24 AM |
The bearded guys have probably fucked. The male half of the “nerd” couple had a nice body. The gays were mincing prisspots as usual.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 15, 2020 6:27 AM |
Love the Bearded guys, so damn hot
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 15, 2020 1:31 PM |
The hot beards are brothers.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 15, 2020 3:59 PM |
I guess the beards aren’t fucking then, but one of them pinged a bit on my gaydar.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 15, 2020 4:09 PM |
The NFL players are for sure fucking.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 15, 2020 4:12 PM |
Beards are not brothers, they were team mates
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 15, 2020 5:09 PM |
I think beards are brothers, or maybe cousins. They had the same last name on the volleyball jerseys they had on in their little segment introducing themselves.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 15, 2020 5:58 PM |
Can one stream this crapfest free? I need to see the bearded guys.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 15, 2020 5:58 PM |
Riley & Maddison are the two that have great beards and are brothers
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 15, 2020 6:40 PM |
Nathan & Cody also have beards, though not as great ones, and are just friends
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 15, 2020 6:41 PM |
Nathan and Cody are [spoiler alert] gone.
Riley and Maddison are volleyball players.

R6---Those shopping mall gays also had the smart idea of always ducking into nice hotels to ask the concierges for advice about travel or landmarks or whatever. I was sorry they did not win as their panache was charming.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 15, 2020 8:29 PM |
r3 Joe and Bill (Team Guido) were also on the first TAR All-Stars edition.
r6 The gay shoppers were Oswald and Danny. They've also been on twice.

So many orientals this season.
Fuck that. They're boring as shit.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 22, 2020 1:06 AM |
The Asian racist is such a sniveling little snot stain.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 22, 2020 1:31 AM |
If I hear those oriental twats talk about Tiger Mom making them take piano lessons or becoming a doctor or engineer just one more time, I'm going to fucking HURL!!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 22, 2020 1:35 AM |
There is a lot of affection between the two football players, but I can’t tell if they have ever fooled around together
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 22, 2020 2:21 AM |
Do you have to fail an IQ test to be a contestant? Reading the instructions should not be an afterthought (or a neverthought).
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 22, 2020 2:41 AM |
It was a blah episode until the end. This cast is better than the gimmicky blind date or social media “star” seasons, but some of the challenges are still weak.
What’s the point of doing the yield when no one uses it? They go in a pack to the church and grab the gold or emerald- boring to watch. The go to the square and hand the gold and emeralds to a person, receiving the clue without any sort of challenge- boring to watch. The circus had potential, but all but one aced it with ease. Again, a fun environment squandered.
The last challenge was classic read the clue carefully stuff. There’s a clear set of tiers between the good teams and the bad teams. Oh, and the gays are a complete embarrassment. I could even take Tyler Oakley over these two.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 22, 2020 2:42 AM |
The gays make me laugh. "You're a dancer!"
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 22, 2020 2:44 AM |
R35= another shiny snot stain on a sleeve. Imagine a snail trail made of human snot. That's R35.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 22, 2020 11:03 PM |
I don't know if I see the gay couple sticking with each other long-term. Lots of drama and petty squabbles already.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 23, 2020 4:02 AM |
I love the cheap ratty rug on the one on the right at r3. I had forgotten all about them.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 23, 2020 4:03 AM |
R42, I forgot why they were considered so villainous?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 23, 2020 4:05 AM |
I did a bit of a jaw drop when the one white couple gave a hint to the other white couple - at the expense of the two black teams.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 23, 2020 4:09 AM |
Wouldn't mind seeing the football players shirtless again but I have the feeling the fish search in the first episode is the only water challenge
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 23, 2020 4:12 AM |
[quote]What’s the point of doing the yield when no one uses it?
They get to keep the hourglasses for the rest of the race; there will be more yield opportunities forthcoming.
Those two silly queens are why they hate us.
I love that one of those overachieving Asian sisters said she was in "automotive sales." Does that mean she's a used car salesperson?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 23, 2020 4:36 AM |
I hope the ratings were decent.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 23, 2020 4:38 AM |
I read somewhere that Fox News was the most watched network in the last 3 months in all of America. It had more viewers than even the Big 4 networks. So R47, with a political cycle going on, ratings are down for everything else (including sports)
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 23, 2020 1:25 PM |
R48, R49 -- that's too bad. But I guess these ratings metrics don't take into account viewers like me, who stream the show days after the episodes already aired.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 23, 2020 1:30 PM |
R46--- She works in auto parts, selling mufflers and tool boxes and stuff. She said all that right after saying where she works. You must've been wanking and missed it.

I am so happy the show is back. I don't HATE any team yet - although I have my favorites.
Team Volleyball and Team NFL! We need more shirtless challenges, please.

by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 23, 2020 3:18 PM |
r54 Actually r52 is a Biden support based on his other comments. He just happens to be an insufferable raging racist. Sad

R41 This was filmed about 2 years ago and they've gotten engaged since the show.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 25, 2020 4:18 PM |
Oh my - those geeks just can't imagine why ANYONE would hate them......obviously on top of everything else, they haven't looked in a mirror lately.
Nice episode - although for some reason, I can't get as excited about the challenges and locations as I usually am. Maybe the times have just gotten me down......or maybe the contestants aren't very entertaining - or worth rooting for.
I like the volleyball boys and the married couple who won the first two shows.....everyone else is kind of "who cares?"........at least to me.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 29, 2020 4:27 PM |
I like the bearded Volleyball boys and the buff NFL guys
by Anonymous | reply 58 | October 29, 2020 6:09 PM |
What is wrong with these people? Read the instructions. Sheesh.
The gays should not have used that u-turn. They were out in front. Now they have enemies. (More than they know since the nerds have allies.).
by Anonymous | reply 59 | October 29, 2020 6:56 PM |
The indigenous chief using the blowgun to fell the clues was fantastic. The whole tribe was a lot more attractive than one would have thought possible. I'm all on board for the married Chinese-American couple. There really isn't anyone to hate (so far) this time, but the little queens are teetering on it.

The two blonde girls and the two asian girls are not that likeable
by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 29, 2020 9:16 PM |
I have to say I'm kind of lusting after Leo, the nerdy guy. He has a nice smile, a good head of hair, great body, and he looks great in glasses and in Nike tights.
I cannot stand this alliance of 10 people, though.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | October 30, 2020 6:49 AM |
The blonde girls can go next.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | November 3, 2020 7:30 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 66 | November 5, 2020 4:50 AM |

Well then, welcome to CBS reality competitions. Where everyone on Big Brother, Survivor, and Amazing Race have figured out the formula of starting an alliance of 7, 8+ people on day one and then dominating the competition the whole season. It's gets old fast and many viewers start tuning out after week four or five.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | November 5, 2020 5:53 AM |
r68 do you think maybe other people can't relate to you as a human being?
by Anonymous | reply 70 | November 5, 2020 1:06 PM |
I still like volleyball boys the best, but every team is really doing okay.
Just when I think I don't like some team, they do something awesome or say something about their lives that makes me like them again.
The only exception is The Nerds. They can go anytime please. Thank you.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | November 5, 2020 1:56 PM |
Were there two new episodes last night? My Spectrum cable guide said there were supposed to be but the second recording ended up being S.W.A.T.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | November 5, 2020 8:08 PM |
r72 There were supposed to be two, but CBS changed things up so they could run an election special at 10PM. I guess the second episode will be on next week. (I had the same problem; my DVR recorded that SWAT rerun.)
by Anonymous | reply 73 | November 5, 2020 8:15 PM |
Will and James are why they hate us.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | November 5, 2020 8:15 PM |
Thanks, r73. I’m glad we got a new episode at all. My nerves can’t handle more election coverage
by Anonymous | reply 75 | November 5, 2020 8:17 PM |
I just looked at the schedule; the episode that was supposed to run last nigh is on next Weds. (11/11), and there are TWO episodes the following week (11/18.) (8PM and 9PM.)
by Anonymous | reply 76 | November 5, 2020 8:18 PM |
I enjoyed this episode. I think I would've chosen the watermelon stacking over the glass bottle dance. I didn't expect to see the two buffest, strongest guys in the race having such a hard time with that watermelon challenge.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | November 5, 2020 8:22 PM |
I want DeAngelo in me, quite deeply.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | November 5, 2020 8:25 PM |
R77 Both the watermelon stacking and the bottle dance were both horrible options, I’m amazed any of them managed to finish. I’ve decided I’m in love with hot nerd Leo, what a beautiful guy he is.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | November 5, 2020 8:29 PM |
The football players should have started over after watching successful teams. They had a weak foundation. The judge took pity on them. Their pile was a mess.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | November 5, 2020 10:05 PM |
R79, the cello-making challenge using scrap junk material looked brutal as well. I'm sure the Amazonian humidity did not help matters!
by Anonymous | reply 81 | November 5, 2020 11:19 PM |
Are the Tiger Teams still on the show?
I won't watch until they're eliminated.
They bore me to tears.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | November 5, 2020 11:26 PM |
Really R82, there are still eight teams, an hour show, taking out commercial time that means maybe six minutes per team, you will spend more of the hour with boring commercials than any one team. Suck it up buttercup.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | November 9, 2020 1:46 AM |
The gays can't work a stick. Lolz
by Anonymous | reply 84 | November 12, 2020 12:06 AM |
Are the orientals gone yet?
I want to watch the rest of the season, but without them.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | November 12, 2020 12:09 AM |
Holy shit!!! The ass on Leo in those tights....mon dieux!
by Anonymous | reply 86 | November 12, 2020 12:44 AM |
I was sad to see the sisters go. I would have rather have them stay instead of the other sisters. I can't believe they got lost driving around for 6 and 1/2 hours.
In the older seasons, teams would ask local people to use their cellphones or sometimes have locals help guide them to their destination. I guess that's not allowed anymore?
by Anonymous | reply 87 | November 12, 2020 2:13 PM |
Where do they find such stupid people? Head for “the countryside” and hope to find a Loire Valley chateau?
by Anonymous | reply 88 | November 12, 2020 3:35 PM |
It doesn't seem physically possible for those moron sisters to drive around that long. Stop driving and get better directions. Find a cab driver and pay him to let you follow him where you need to go.
Glad to see them go. That one girl was an over-the-top bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | November 12, 2020 4:15 PM |
I liked the self proclaimed "Cajun Asians". The show needs to make the race tighter, where more teams are competing at the same detour or road block together. Not only does it add to the pressure, but also allows for more confrontation between teams. The show needs bitchy players to create drama.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | November 12, 2020 4:20 PM |
As long as those two insipid queens are there, you're going to get all of the bitchy drama you need. Didn't they complain over how Leo HELPED them move the car out of the way? They seemed to just skip over the fact he was helping someone who U-turned them before and has been plotting against them.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | November 12, 2020 4:24 PM |
Some good Detours this week.
Kinda glad the blonde sisters are still around. Their backstory is more interesting than the Asian bimbos that got the ax......
Still don't like the Nerds although Leo's ass was nice.....why was he wearing tights?
by Anonymous | reply 92 | November 12, 2020 4:33 PM |
Leo wasn’t helping the Nancies. He was helping himself and the others stuck behind them.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | November 12, 2020 4:37 PM |
What is the blondes’ backstory?
by Anonymous | reply 94 | November 12, 2020 4:38 PM |
Both left home at 15 or 16. They've been on their own since then making their way in the world.....
by Anonymous | reply 95 | November 12, 2020 4:39 PM |
I lold when one Asian sister said she and her sister are now so close, and when she tells her she loves her, her sister says she loves her too. Cut to the end, and she says I love you to her sister, and she responds with "I know".

I'm hoping it was the orientals!
One down, one to go.
Then I can watch the show again.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | November 12, 2020 5:23 PM |
I loved the carnival games place. I've always like playing the modern version of that horse race game with the balls. It was cool to see a really antique version. Now I want to go there! I thought the painting task was interesting too. The first guy that was identified (by one of the volleyball bros) REALLY looked like the person depicted in the artwork.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | November 12, 2020 6:00 PM |
Never mind. It was the orientals!
WOOOO HOOOOO!
Good riddance.
One more team to go.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | November 12, 2020 6:17 PM |
Agree that the antique carnival games place was fantastic as was the chateau, and I really wanted to taste the Chantilly whipped cream. The producers on this show consistently do an excellent job in coming up with appropriate locally-specific challenges.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | November 12, 2020 7:21 PM |
I thought that was the first time our Volleyball lads really confirmed that they are brothers when one of them talked about their father.....

by Anonymous | reply 103 | November 13, 2020 2:20 AM |
I'm not a big fan of the nerds. So they got Yielded. Big whoop -- it's part of the game. No need to hold a blood vendetta.
I'm also tired of editing always shoving these nerdy types as the fan favorite/underdogs.

by Anonymous | reply 110 | November 19, 2020 3:32 AM |
So long to Leo and his spectacular ass, too bad we didn’t get to see more of it. These seasons lately are really sparse on the half naked challenges.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | November 19, 2020 3:57 AM |
R111, goddamnit, I was rooting for Leo and his spectacular ass to grace our screens until the end. I have last week's episode saved just for that carnival games scene with Leo running around in his tights. Now I wish I hadn't started deleting episodes, since I do remember seeing his ass in tights previously.
Also, I *loathe* those nasty queens, especially giggling at their own nastiness when the sisters Yielded Leo and Alana.
Hung was such an asshole bitching to her husband about being frustrated because *she* couldn't keep her goddamn mouth shut. Cunt.

Hung clearly wears the pants in that marriage. Her husband is too docile he needs her permission for everything. She asked him if he was frustrated after she helped the NFL players. He said he was and all she could say was you have five minutes to get over it. Such a boss bitch

[quote]What are you talking about ? The episode I saw last night took place in Berlin. Did you get a second one ? We didn't in Canada !
CBS was supposed to run back-to-back episodes two weeks ago, but had to change their plans when they decided to run an election special (it was the day after the election.) So the schedule got shifted and they ran two this week to keep on track. Canada is supposed to get the Kazakhstan episode next week. That's unfortunate because unless they run two in a row, you'll always be a week behind.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | November 19, 2020 4:42 PM |
Those two losers couldn't have an advantage if the episode was shot in their backyard.

R114, the second episode that aired last night is scheduled to air next Tuesday at 9 on CTV. I would have missed it, but was scrolling through the guide last night and saw that CBS was airing two. CTV of course has no promotion saying that episode 2 of a two-parter is airing on a different night, those bastards.

Oops, forgot to add that The Amazing Race will be back to its regular Wednesday at 7 slot on CTV on the 25th. So us Canadians will be all caught up by then.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | November 19, 2020 5:36 PM |
Thank you R115, R122 and R30.
Yes, in Canada we will have 2 episodes next week so we will catch up.
But damn, that is not brilliant of CTV to air an episode for an elimination game one week later !
I obviously walked innocently on a thread that was one week ahead in time ! D'oh!
by Anonymous | reply 132 | November 19, 2020 7:46 PM |
I meant thank you R130.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | November 19, 2020 7:47 PM |
R126, I noticed that, too --with DeAngelo -- and did a double-take to make sure I saw what I really saw.
I thought it was funny when DeAngelo made a comment about Gary's feet being gross.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | November 19, 2020 8:54 PM |
It used to be if you came in last on a non-elimination you had an extra task to do on the next leg. They must have gotten rid of that.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | November 20, 2020 12:01 AM |
R135. The blondes had to be fitted with facial hair and costumes. I assumed that was the equivalent of the extra task.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | November 20, 2020 12:15 AM |
No, R135, they still do that. In fact, they just did in the latest episode. The girls had to do that task of applying fake facial hair that the others didn't. I can't remember what they did the first time but they had something then as well. It just used to be a harder extra task than it is any more. It's ALL better than the early days when they had to lose all of their money and then beg for money from the locals and tourists. I HATED that.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | November 20, 2020 12:16 AM |
The first time they had to clean a saddle in Chantilly .

by Anonymous | reply 140 | November 20, 2020 4:51 AM |
Holy shit, I just got a WARNING and my post removed on the Primetimer Forums because I referred to Will and James as insipid queens on that site. And before that, someone had bitched about me calling them Will and Grace. Apparently, we can no longer speak ill of gay Racers? I'm not torn up about it, I'm just surprised that a something inoffensive as insipid queens was enough for post removal. This is the site that used to go by Television Without Pity way back when BTW.
This has nothing to do with DL, I just wanted to bitch. I think it's ridiculous that censorship has been taken to such absurd levels. What the fuck?
by Anonymous | reply 141 | November 20, 2020 6:18 AM |
I suspect the problem wasn’t that you “spoke ill” of the Nancy Boys, but the homophobic language you used, you silly cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | November 20, 2020 6:23 AM |
I guess if you just called them insipid, that would’ve been enough
by Anonymous | reply 143 | November 20, 2020 6:30 AM |
R142, what is homophobic about insipid? Someone else just used the same adjective just upthread.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | November 20, 2020 6:44 AM |
Insipid is not the issue, honey.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | November 20, 2020 6:50 AM |
how do you keep a tread about a show spoiler free? ummm...not discuss it?
by Anonymous | reply 146 | November 20, 2020 7:01 AM |
R146, it has to be spoiler free until the episode airs. Simple as that.
Now, our Canadian broadcaster dumbly omitted to air two episodes last Wednesday ! Therefore my surprise when I went to this thread to comment on what happened in Berlin and read Leo and Alana were eliminated in Kazakhstan. What ??!!?
I'm not blaming anybody on the thread for that !
Ctv blew it.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | November 20, 2020 11:54 AM |
[quote]I'm just surprised that a something inoffensive...
It's not inoffensive to call the gays "queens." We can say it among friends, but otherwise it's not nice. Miss Alli would've pissed acid down your throat for less than that.
I don't like Will and James at all - find them beyond annoying. But, I've learned to manage by pretending James is Fred Armisen doing a Portlandia character and now I'm okay with them.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | November 20, 2020 1:15 PM |
DeAngelo SAID how awful Gary's feet are.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | November 20, 2020 2:51 PM |
So I looked at the Primetimer forums, and the post where I called Will and James queens had also quoted two other people who likewise found those two irritating, and their posts have also been removed. So expressing any irritation or distaste for Will and James is now prohibited. That's quite a leap from finding two gays annoying to being accused of hating all gay men.

I like James but not Will. James must be tall since Will is 6'6".
by Anonymous | reply 153 | November 21, 2020 4:34 AM |
On their post-race interview, Leo and Alana say that all of the racers got along really well, and they all Zoomed into their wedding last Summer. So the drama you're seeing on your screen is all manufactured.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | November 21, 2020 6:04 AM |
R147, I'm sorry you were spoiled for the next episode. I would have had no clue that CBS was airing 2 episodes if I hadn't been browsing for something, anything, to occupy my time. It was pure luck that I stumbled across CTV's airing of the next episode on November 24. I wish CTV wouldn't continue fucking with the airdates with no promotion beforehand.

by Anonymous | reply 159 | November 26, 2020 12:04 AM |
I’m so sick of those damn nelly ass queens that I’m recording the episodes but not watching until I find out if they got eliminated. What Team Messy Queens did to Leo, who’s sooo much hotter than either of them, and his wife Alana last week was just bitchy. Nelly queens like these two on such a big platform makes the LGBTQ community look so bad.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | November 26, 2020 12:18 AM |
I enjoyed that the Indian Engineers were the first team to the coding challenge but the third to actually finish it. They were beaten by the gays and the NFL team.

The Asians are hopeless, honestly. They struggle with such mundane things.
by Anonymous | reply 162 | November 26, 2020 12:29 AM |
The Blondes got yielded twice. That's bullshit. You shouldn't be able to yield the same team twice, especially on the same leg of the race.

This season is horrible. And all because of those annoying boyfriends. Not only are they awful people and creepy to have to watch, but they also created the alliance, which basically killed the whole thing. And now they have a new alliance which will take all the fun out of the game in the final episodes. I hope by some miracle, they get eliminated.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | November 26, 2020 3:13 AM |
Gary is so damn cute I just wanna scream every time he's on screen. Golden retriever with a cute smile. I want to hug that giant tree trunk of a man.

by Anonymous | reply 172 | November 26, 2020 3:03 PM |
I thought the challenges in the Mega Leg were terrific! I don't mind "the Boyfriends" - they're having fun and playing the game. It's for a MILLION dollars! Using the yield is a tactic - why not use it to your best advantage?
I really like all of the remaining teams.....but I am on TEAM VOLLEYBALL and TEAM NFL......
by Anonymous | reply 173 | November 26, 2020 3:38 PM |
It was funny watching these American contestants being 'the help' on all of the legs and then still trying to converse/joke around with the rich people they're serving in India.

Aww, I ended up liking the blonde sisters towards the end.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | November 27, 2020 5:50 AM |
This five-team alliance has removed a lot of suspense from the season, and I felt sorry for the blonde sisters — they were really ganged-up on. I respect that they maintained an upbeat attitude throughout.
The queens are vile — it would be horrible if they won.
by Anonymous | reply 177 | November 27, 2020 11:56 AM |
I too liked the blondes by the end. They really were all alone out there. (DeAngelo referred to them as “cockroaches” too.)
They took it all in stride and laughed and smiled through it. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m sorry to see them go.
The gays are beyond atrocious. The alliance is a disaster for the show. When James saw the ruler and told the camera he was going to keep this to himself, the one volleyball brother immediately came over and warned him about the ruler. Gary and DeAngelo may not have contributed much to the alliance, but the gays are two-faced.
The Indian siblings are dull.
The locations and challenges are mostly been a vast improvement over the most recent seasons, and even the casting on face value was better. The alliance killed any excitement though and the boyfriends are an embarrassment for our kind.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | November 27, 2020 12:16 PM |
Yeah, the alliance is a bore, but it wasn't the first time it's been used. Usually, these multi-team alliances fall through quickly and are tenuous at best. It was surprising to see this one last as long as it did.
I didn't find anybody too objectionable this season. Looking back at some of the older seasons, there were some real villains back then! i.e. Season 20
by Anonymous | reply 179 | November 27, 2020 1:41 PM |
I take pleasure in the fact that Team Queens know they’re being dragged on social media and probably to their faces when recognized out in public. I’m waiting for someone to use the “homophobia” word and I’ll call bullshit. Those queens are vapid and vile.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | November 27, 2020 1:46 PM |
R180, meh, I don't think they were that bad. Yields and U-Turns are a legit part of the game.
Whoever was gush about Leo -- he's just average/OK-looking.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | November 27, 2020 1:55 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 182 | November 27, 2020 2:17 PM |
The previews at the end of this week's episodes makes it seem as if the other teams are planning to Yield Gary and DeAngelo to get them Philiminated, but the show knows how to edit so I wouldn't be surprised it 1) the teams wind up yielding another team or 2) Gary and DeAngelo are yielded but still manage to remain. Whatever the case, I hope Team NFL make it to the final leg.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | November 27, 2020 3:18 PM |
Most of the players seem like decent, intelligent good people...except the gays, who are slimy snakes. Love the volleyball bearded bros..they are a credit to their sport.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | November 27, 2020 3:19 PM |
I'm not sure why the other teams were so fixated on yielding the blondes. You'd think the gay couple, Hung & Chee, and brother and sister would figure that they have a better shot against them (and each other) rather than the NFL dudes and volleyball bros.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | November 27, 2020 3:26 PM |
Because the blondes were not part of the alliance. Yawn.
by Anonymous | reply 186 | November 27, 2020 3:34 PM |
If you were racing for $1M and part of loyal alliance, wouldn't you leverage aforementioned tactics to your advantage? Personally, if I were volleyball team, I would have yielded the football players since they're stronger team than blondes
by Anonymous | reply 187 | November 27, 2020 4:05 PM |

Because he Asians and the Indians are incredibly passive. They'll hang onto the alliance for as long as they can.
No idea why everyone is so eager to help the queens. They contribute nothing.

by Anonymous | reply 192 | November 28, 2020 5:17 AM |
People saying teams should yield stronger teams don't get it.
If you push the NFL team back 20 minutes they might go from being in 2nd to being in 3rd. All you'll have done is piss them off.
You need to yield a team at the back of the pack to ensure they don't catch up and pass the last team. You want to increase the likelihood that the last team stays last. That's why you yield the Blondies.
by Anonymous | reply 193 | November 28, 2020 12:18 PM |
No more yields.......it's a U-Turn that's coming up.
by Anonymous | reply 194 | November 28, 2020 2:44 PM |
This may be my last season of Amazing Race. After every leg, the teams reset by being on the same flights to the next location. Finishing faster than other teams means nothing if everyone is just going to be starting at the same point the next day. And all of the yields and alliances are allowing weaker teams to progress. It’s turning into a traveling Survivor.
by Anonymous | reply 195 | November 28, 2020 2:55 PM |
It’s about who finishes last.
by Anonymous | reply 196 | November 28, 2020 2:58 PM |
R195--- Do you prefer it when they arrive somewhere late at night and have to pull tags for different starting times in the AM (for an helicopter flight or to enter someplace) and then they all spend the night outside waiting for the morning activity? They used to do that pretty frequently, it seems like they haven't done that in a long time.
by Anonymous | reply 197 | November 28, 2020 11:42 PM |
I find it annoying when Phil says things like "Will and James will be the first team to leave Almaty" when they're all going to be on the same flight.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | November 29, 2020 12:14 AM |
Yeah, when they leave at one or two in the morning, where the hell are they going
by Anonymous | reply 199 | November 29, 2020 12:54 AM |
R197, In the earlier seasons, teams made their way to an airport and had to arrange their own routing to the next city. The earlier teams often were able to book better routes, that may or may not have worked out depending on unforeseen delays. It added a degree of uncertainty and suspense. Now, they may as well just shuttle them from place to place. It is now less a “race” and more a series of tasks that are held at different places around the world.

by Anonymous | reply 213 | November 30, 2020 4:13 PM |
R212, good question. I'm not sure why it was delayed so long. Yes, there was the covid scare from March 2020 onward (and studios worrying that they wouldn't have enough programming to make it to the air), but why wasn't it aired at all during 2019?

Wikipedia
After Season 31 completed filming in July 2018, The Amazing Race 32 began on November 10, 2018 with filming of first leg reported on the island of Tobago, marking the first time The Amazing Race visited Trinidad and Tobago. Teams were spotted fishing in the Nylon Pool, played the steelpan at Pigeon Point, and participated in goat racing at the Buccoo Integrated Facility.[1] The season concluded filming on December 3, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana,[2] which had previously only hosted a Pit Stop during the Family Edition back in 2005.[7] According to Phil Keoghan, this season was the most physically demanding to film since The Amazing Race 3.[8] The show also reached a milestone of traveling one million cumulative miles during this season.[9]
CBS announced on May 15, 2019, while Season 31 was airing, that the season would be broadcast in the mid-2019–20 television season.[10] In January 2020, Amazing Race co-creators and executive producers Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri believed that the season would air within six months.[11] On April 13, 2020, CBS originally announced that the season was to premiere with a two-hour special on May 20, 2020, taking over the Wednesday slot of Survivor: Winners at War. Following this, the show would have returned to the standard one-hour episode format.[12] However, on April 29, 2020, CBS announced it was postponing the premiere until later in 2020, and the freshman game show Game On! would be taking show's former scheduled slot.[13] The postponement was designed in case the 2020–21 television season was delayed as television production was suspended following the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing pre-filmed Amazing Race to replace shows whose production has not begun.[14] This includes Survivor, which was unable to film its 41st season in time for the fall broadcast due to complications filming during the pandemic, causing CBS to subsequently schedule The Amazing Race 32 in Survivor's planned slot on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. as its replacement.[15] At twenty-two months, The Amazing Race 32 has the longest gap between its filming completion and its premiere (for comparison, Season 31 premiered 10 months after its filming in June and July 2018).[16] Outside of a message from Keoghan at the start of the first episode describing the timing of filming of this season relative to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season made no other changes or mention of the pandemic, as Keoghan explained they want to keep the show evergreen.[17]

If the footballers knew how the other three teams they spared had been trashing them, they might have u-turned them.
It is weird how they all gang up on weaker teams, instead of trying to eliminate threats down the road.
They may present it as short-term strategy, but it reeks of high school snobbism. "You are not one of us."
As for the boyfriends, I don't mind them. They are bitchy and scheming and prancing, but they are also a very united couple, very efficient and entertaining.
by Anonymous | reply 239 | December 3, 2020 11:57 AM |

Eswar is cute. But they were a shockingly weak team for being so young.

Gary & DeAngelo are my least favorite, but I have to admit they would have been eliminated had they not u-turned the siblings. I am thinking either the beard bros or the boyfriends will win.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | December 3, 2020 4:44 PM |
So once again with last night's episode, all of the teams started out on the same flight, then the u-turns allowed a team to be selectively picked off by the "alliance" (though it didn't go down exactly as planned when the footballers reached the u-turn first). With what will be the lingering effects of the pandemic and how tired this show has become, I think this will be the last season. It will be months before another season could be filmed, then CBS would hold it for a year or more, something which it has been doing for the last few seasons. At best, it would be a couple of years before another season would air, by which time we will all have forgotten about it.
by Anonymous | reply 243 | December 3, 2020 5:02 PM |
Why do they hold it for a year?
by Anonymous | reply 244 | December 3, 2020 5:03 PM |
Because most of these teams we don't care about. Like the way Dorothy from "Golden Girls" was eliminated from being a contestant on "Jeopardy", nearly all these remaining teams don't have audience rooting for them.

by Anonymous | reply 251 | December 3, 2020 5:26 PM |
R244 For some reason, CBS has used Amazing Race as a filler program for the past couple of seasons. This current season, #32, was completed in December 2018, but didn't begin airing until October 2020. Season 31 finished in July 2018, but wasn't aired until June 2019. Season 30 was better, with only a four month delay. It's as though CBS has been losing confidence in the show and just resorts to "dumping" them when they have an opening in their schedule.

The places they visit are great for armchair travelers (like most everybody is nowadays anyway). Plus there are usually some nice teams to root for, and while there are usually some unlikable teams, they usually don't all clique up and get rid of weak teams. Usually they get rid of strong teams.

It's far and away the best. I know the Emmys have moved on from it in favor of The Voice, The Masked Singer, RuPaul's Drag Race and that ilk -- and while the actual performances on those shows might have some worth, I can't stand the endless repetition and hype of them.

I actually think this is the best cast season of the show in its history. I like every team so each losing team was a loss to the show. Usually, half the teams are so hateful and annoying, with bickering and pouting, that I cheer when they lose. Don't we have enough cunts on reality TV? I like that every team this season was enjoyable to watch; it made rooting for anyone so far very hard because I don't want any of them to lose. That, I think, is more compelling than the usual season full of assholes. Comparing this to the Family season? Are you joking or did you forget how bad that season was? Some of you seem to like to complain just for the sake of it. This isn't anywhere near the worst season. And certainly nowhere near as bad as that obnoxious family edition season.

I honestly don't know how some of you people make it through the day. Take the commercials out that leaves about 45 minutes, divide that by the 5 teams left that means each team is on for roughly 9 minutes each. If you can't tolerate a team you don't like for 9 minutes in a couple of minute segments you are just too fragile to exist.

The biggest problem with this season is that it's sooo boring. The challenges are dull. The teams are alright, but not very exciting (except when Gary lies back with his hands behind his head exposing those glorious pits). What bothers me most about the gays is how James laughs at everything like it's the funniest thing he's ever heard. Way too impressed with himself and Will. Their alliance with the bros is going to bite them in the ass (and not in the fun way).
by Anonymous | reply 290 | December 4, 2020 5:21 PM |

Team Gay boyfriends saying they're going to win in all in coming attractions usually means they probably won't. Prefer the other two teams, but good to see them freeze out the athletes. D'angelo really was a sore loser with bad attitude when he was talking with Phil.

by Anonymous | reply 321 | December 10, 2020 6:41 AM |
I lost all respect for D’angelo tonight. There are hundreds of “teams” who have been trying to get on the show for years. These two got in a whole lot more easily because they were celebrities. Ugly American who doesn’t appreciate what he is given.
by Anonymous | reply 322 | December 10, 2020 6:43 AM |
That's why they shouldn't have contestants who are rich and who like him said he could visit all the places on the race on his own dime easily.
On the other hand, Amazing Race, unlike Survivor and Big Brother, is not supposed to be a social game, and there shouldn't be alliances. Phil's admonition to all of them at the beginning of the episode to not to help each other anymore for their own sake makes me think they may add a rule that teams cannot help each other. It would be the same as the rule not allowing a teammate to tell the other teammate how to do a challenge when only one of them is doing it. Viewers are going to want a fair fight.
by Anonymous | reply 323 | December 10, 2020 6:51 AM |
I kept waiting for DeAngelo to say, ha ha, just kidding. I loved the race and will memories that will last a lifetime. And then I realized he wasn’t joking and I was shocked. I can’t remember someone, especially someone who got this far in the race, tell Phil that they regretted doing it.
It came off worse now though with so much international travel shut down due to Covid. He could appreciate the privilege and opportunity he was given. Sad because I was feeling sorry for them that they were being excluded, but maybe the other teams say this in them as well and that’s why they got left out.

R330, I was sort of giving DeAngelo a pass because he was probably still stung by the loss and upset about the other teams excluding them (and meathead athletes are hyper-competitive) but if he's still lashing out on social media -- well, that's not a very good look.
by Anonymous | reply 336 | December 10, 2020 3:21 PM |
Especially since some of the worst players (and not famous ones) in today's leagues get more money than some of the best and most famous players from years ago. DeAngelo said he could afford to take the trip he had just undertaken by himself. He couldn't understand the journey itself and not the goal is sometimes the prize. (Ok, a million bucks is great, but most other teams who have lasted a while before getting eliminated still have usually appreciated seeing some great places and bonding with their teammates, at least). He was rather disgraceful frankly.
by Anonymous | reply 337 | December 10, 2020 3:42 PM |
R337, they really should weed out people who are so rich the experience won't mean a thing to them. Or even worse, they need to eliminate contestants who don't even like traveling or appreciating other cultures -- I'm thinking of that tool, Cody from Big Brother, who kept going on about 'Murica, never seeming to appreciate any of the locations they were at.

This is exactly why, unless the rules are changed, I won't be watching another season of this show (assuming there even is another one). When you have teams working together to eliminate others (with the help of numerous Yields), it becomes as tedious as Survivor (which I haven't watched in years). You end up with the first two or three episodes where teams are working separately, then the middle four to ten episodes as you watch an "alliance" work to pick the others off, then the final episode (if you're still watching) to see who wins. ***Yawn***

by Anonymous | reply 349 | December 10, 2020 8:56 PM |
He, indeed, WAS very likeable...right up until his exit from the race which was the most insulting, uncalled-for, exit from the entire series. It was offensive. How dare he act victimized when he was part of an alliance that did the same thing to other people including those blonde twins who sure as hell handled themselves with a thousand times more grace with their exit.
by Anonymous | reply 350 | December 10, 2020 9:00 PM |
Who was it that called the blondes cockroaches that need to be squashed or something like that? The blondes were very sweet, and you could tell they were lovely people by the positive way in which they handled their exit as well as their bad luck during their race. Very uncalled for that competitor to call them that.

The podcast is a lot of fun. The cast clearly adored each other.
DeAngelo's main gripe was with everything we don't see on TV. Lack of sleep, 10 hours waiting at the airport, etc. It's an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the show.
by Anonymous | reply 355 | December 10, 2020 9:35 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 356 | December 10, 2020 9:41 PM |
Never liked DeAngelo because he always treated the locals they encountered like crap. Whereas other teams would be polite to the locals (even when in a frenzied hurry), DeAngelo would rarely look them in the eye or otherwise acknowledge them. He treated the rest of the alliance the same way - always taking, never giving - so he shouldn't be surprised they got dropped from the alliance.
Agree about reading the fucking clue!

DeAngelo has clarified that he loved the race but what he hated was, in effect, being in lockdown & confined to hotels in their downtime & not being able to see the sights beyond that which they saw in the various legs of the competition. He hated, for example, that he was in Paris but couldn’t see the Eiffel Tower other than from his hotel..
by Anonymous | reply 364 | December 11, 2020 3:17 AM |
James tweeted that DeAngelo supported him against the online haters (i.e. Deplorables), so DeAngelo can’t be all bad.
by Anonymous | reply 365 | December 11, 2020 3:31 AM |
DeAngelo isn't all bad but he is a multi millionaire pro athlete who is used to the finer things in life. Sleeping on an airport floor and being sequestered between legs was not this thing. He had never seen the show and had no idea how it worked or what he was getting into. He hated the show and wanted to quit from Day 1 but seems to be friends with all the teams now. Hhe is very salty about the Beard Bros but would have had no issue with teaming up with them to do the same to another team. He has a pod cast. He basically wheezes with laughter when James and Will tell him they made vision boards and put the Amazing Race on it 6 years ago!

The Amazing Race 32's DeAngelo Williams and Gary Barnidge Clarify Their Post-Race Feelings and an Unseen Alliance
by Anonymous | reply 371 | December 11, 2020 12:44 PM |
D'Angelo gained a lot of attention and fans during TAR.....and he lost most of them for his sour grapes final tantrum.
Phil gave him every opportunity to say something else or to temper his comments, but he did not. He is as big an ass as he seemed to be on the final few minutes of the show.
Who the fuck cares that he didn't get to see the sites? Did he go out and visit every city he played his stupid childish football game in - or did he stay in the hotel until time to go to the field....and return to it until time to go to the airport? My guess is he did NOT "see the sites."
Gary is running interference for him again. He needs to stop.
And D'Angelo didn't think the alliance was so bad when it was benefiting his ass and tromping on other players......
Shut up, D'Angelo and go enjoy your "millions" - we DON'T want to see you on the show again. I would watch Gary with a new partner......but if they're brought back together, it might be the first season of TAR I would skip.....

by Anonymous | reply 373 | December 11, 2020 5:01 PM |
Gary and DeAngelo should have taken the two hour penalty the moment they realized they were never going to solve the music puzzle and the other team weren't working with them.

They didn’t realize that until too late, R374.

Y’all can judge someone for being real in the moment you feel betrayed, but DeAngelo wasn’t a super fan & he brought with him the rules of sportsmanship he learned in football. If you listened to his podcast you couldn’t help but realize what Gary & his castmates, every one of them, know - that he’s a sweetheart.
by Anonymous | reply 376 | December 11, 2020 5:22 PM |
Has Gary ever mentioned if he's married or in a relationship? There's no reason a hunky, tall, athletic, artsy guy like him should be single.

R241, Eswar *is* cute. I still have the first episode saved, you get Gary, DeAngelo, Leo, Eswar, Riley and Maddison shirtless. I noticed Eswar's bare chest in that episode but apparently no one else did. I did, however, notice Leo's spectacular ass in his tights (the Paris episode, "You Don't Strike Me as a Renaissance Man").

by Anonymous | reply 383 | December 11, 2020 9:33 PM |
R383, I have a suspicion that Phil maybe didn't like the way this season played out so much. Just a hunch. It's quite obvious when Survivor's Jeff Probst isn't thrilled about a season/contestants, but Phil is usually more of a cipher. This is the first time that I can remember him emphasizing for teams not to work together though.

Wonder what would have happened if DeAngelo and Gary had read the last clue correctly? Would they have shared that info with the others? Would they been able to finish the task? Alliance or not, the reason they lost was because they did not read the clue correctly. Everyone seems to forget that.

The finale was underwhelming not because the boyfriends won but because the challenges left no chance for the others to catchup. Half way through the episode, it was clear that the gays would win. No suspense!!. I liked the Cody and Jessica season where they won at the last challenge.
The gays had of course been Mardi gras so they new where the Armstrong thingy was. The twink even knew what the baby doll looked like so they generally had an advantage over the others.
by Anonymous | reply 420 | December 17, 2020 1:20 PM |
It's been a broken show for 10+ seasons now. There is no "race" anymore, just a reality show with people who are not always very likable. Good on Fred Armisen and Will -- I guess the alliance thing paid off after all -- but his was the only leg where no one had a chance to catch up after being bunched because the "challenges" were so straightforward. I'm officially over the show because it's missing what I originally loved so much about it.
by Anonymous | reply 421 | December 17, 2020 1:45 PM |
Regardless of how people feel about them, Will and James killed that last leg. Editors couldn't even manufacture suspense to make it seem like it was close.

by Anonymous | reply 433 | December 17, 2020 9:24 PM |
I miss the airport strategizing. My favorite was when they would have teams all taking ridiculous connections to get some distant place and so you have teams with layovers in Ireland and others in Dubai and others stranded somewhere. It seems like all the flights are just prebooked now which neutralizes everything way too often. I loved the route planning. And it doesn't seem like they do a strict 12 hours from when you check in until the next leg anymore either.
Whatever, I'll still watch but it doesn't interest me nearly as much as it once did. Eswar and Leo were definitely hot and neither is my usual type, so that was fun. Didn't Tyler and Korey win one of their seasons? The gays are often very competent on this show whether or not they're likable.

by Anonymous | reply 437 | December 18, 2020 12:05 AM |
That finale sucked, and not because Will & James won. The brothers fell behind quickly, and although, for a brief time, they were all digging through the king cakes together, it was clear they never had a chance of gaining ground.
After Will & James left for the bridge, I don’t think either of the teams even laid eyes on them. There was nothing the editors could do. Who wants to watch a race for second place, and even that wasn’t close.
The final challenge with the globe was stupid. There needed to be a memory element to it, like now that the globe is built, attach numbers to the map in order of the pit stops on the race. Also match the currency/language/something with the location. I remember on past finales they had to do stuff like that and it really took some attention to detail.
Will & James did what I would have done if selected to be on the race. They watched each season multiple times and studied what teams did wrong and right. They then created an alliance that helped them get to the end. It’s smart play, but it doesn’t make for a very exciting experience for the viewer.
by Anonymous | reply 438 | December 18, 2020 12:18 AM |

[quote] The brothers fell behind quickly, and although, for a brief time, they were all digging through the king cakes together, it was clear they never had a chance of gaining ground.
That’s not correct. It was evident that Will had a better strategy/technique to find the baby and that preserved their lead. If the other teams had done better and Will had done worse at the challenge, they could have finished first. Also, speaking of luck, the other two could have randomly picked the cake that had the baby and leapfrogged ahead. It wasn’t set in stone.

by Anonymous | reply 442 | December 18, 2020 12:48 AM |
R441, I meant from an editing/confidence/lack of energy standpoint that the brothers never had a chance of overtaking them. That edit of them at the beginning jumping out of the cab at the wrong place and running around set the tone for their whole final leg. The writing was on the wall and it wasn’t subtle.
They seemed to be missing the spark they had throughout most of the race. It’s like watching a basketball or football game where one team goes down early and though it’s obviously possible for them to stage a comeback, the audience (and the team) just knows it’s not in the cards that day.

Since this show was filmed so long ago, and they got engaged at the end, have they gotten married yet?
by Anonymous | reply 452 | December 18, 2020 4:27 AM |
R434--I am watching old seasons on hulu. I also really miss the planning their own travel aspect of early seasons and I miss them having money to get them through the legs and financing being part of the strategy. When people had their cash taken as a penalty, it was pretty terrible, begging in countries where people are poor as hell. But those aspects are what made the race like real traveling. They don't seem to sleep outside in front of museums that are closed and so forth any more, either. Consolidating the travel for all the teams probably saves tons on production costs.
Looking back: there have been some HORRIBLE winners, the already mentioned Freddy and Kendra, that snotty bitch, were pretty awful, & Flo of Flo & Zach was a whiny jerk. Would you believe she dated Drew the twin for seven years after they raced? Worst contestants ever are Jonathan and Victoria, if only they'd been eliminated earlier. Stassi on the family season saw herself on teevee and got that chin implant and bleached her hair blond right after the show, I am betting.

What does second place win on the show? $25,000
While it’s only a small percentage of the winning team’s prize, they aren’t left short of money by ending the show as runners up.
The third place team win $10,000, while the first team to be eliminated are sent home with $1,500. So all participants leave with some cash!

I can totally see how prebooking seats for everyone way in advance as you plan the itinerary is probably infinitely cheaper than dozens of last-minute full fare tickets on long haul international flights. It did always strike me that the tickets they were buying were probably very expensive. I'm so glad they got rid of the begging, though. That was utter cringe - (usually) white Americans with a camera crew hitting up people for cash in poor countries was the single worst aspect of the show.
by Anonymous | reply 460 | December 18, 2020 5:52 AM |
If you want to see THE AMAZING RACE in its "pure" form, you have to go back to the first 4 seasons. From booking their own flights to the appearance of Fast Forwards (remember them?) on almost every leg, those early races are rather AMAZING compared to the dumbed-down version we now have. (If you want to see just how intricate the Race could be, check out seasons 2 and 3, especially.)
Starting with Season 5, we had the introduction of the Yield, the non-elimination penalty (taking the team's money away), and the reduction of Fast Forwards to only 2 in the whole race. Even so, much of the flight arrangements were still left up to the teams -- enabling Colin & Christie to get so far ahead of the other teams that they were hit by a very suspicious site closure in Egypt. (The sign indicating the Hours of Operation looked like it had been scrawled in Magic Marker by some PA.)
Flight booking was never so free after that. Teams were limited in various ways: having to use specific travel agents with specific hours of operation; having only a few airlines available to book; or having the flights pre-selected. Same with bus or train travel. For awhile, the Race was able to disguise much of this behind-the-scenes manipulation. If they figured that a leg would probably end at 2 or 3 in the afternoon, they had no problem with teams leaving the pitstop at 2 or 3 in the morning, knowing that there was little they could do in the middle of the night. (Nowadays, however, they have even stopped using a strict 12-HOUR pitstop. We're never given arrival times and are just told that so-&-so are the first team to depart whenever. The length of the pitstop is obviously whatever is in the best interests of the production.)
As each leg is its own mini-race, doing well no longer carries any benefit moving forward.

by Anonymous | reply 463 | December 18, 2020 7:32 AM |
What made this show so "Amazing" when it first appeared was that teams could book all these flights around the world on the spot and make it a true race.. The huge expenses were what made this show bigger than life. Now it's a fucking Tough Mudder course...who cares.
by Anonymous | reply 464 | December 18, 2020 7:36 AM |
Fear Factor seemed to have had a big influence on the show. In the beginning, The Amazing Race didn’t have nasty food eating or bungee jumps. It was about using your wits. TAR added those in later. Also, I miss having the contestants figure out where they were going. Now they specifically state what city to go to.
by Anonymous | reply 465 | December 18, 2020 7:55 AM |
This was a very disappointing season overall. Some of the destinations were interesting (France in particular), but the challenges often seemed pointless, and many times were not as difficult as in prior seasons. And can we find something else to focus on, rather than bungee jumping?
Will and James were insufferable. I kept wishing they would screw up so they could be eliminated. No such luck. And listening to them talk was like fingernails on a chalkboard.
I wanted Leo and Alana to win. I'm with the poster above. I thought Leo, with his tights and compact body, was adorable. Fit nerds are sexy, IMHO.

I still can’t believe Will was on America’s Next Top Model and came in 2nd. Watching him I never thought wow he’s model hot. But I guess you just have to be 6’6 and bone thin. I’ll take Gary and the hot gay nerd Leo.

If the homos get married, it won’t last. How do they not annoy each other?
by Anonymous | reply 468 | December 18, 2020 10:18 AM |
How does James land a hottie like Will?
by Anonymous | reply 469 | December 18, 2020 12:20 PM |
Are we to believe Will carried that engagement ring during the whole race? Did he pick it up in the Philippines when Will wasn't looking?
by Anonymous | reply 470 | December 18, 2020 1:13 PM |
R470, Will had Imeda Marcos on speed dial. Mabuhay!
by Anonymous | reply 471 | December 18, 2020 1:18 PM |
Off topic, but I hate it when gays get down on one knee and present a ring. Does that make them the top?
by Anonymous | reply 472 | December 18, 2020 1:21 PM |
Are Will and James female? They sure act it.
by Anonymous | reply 473 | December 18, 2020 2:19 PM |
It is hilarious that Will and James are so hated here, I would roughly estimate they accurately represent about 70% of all the gay people I have ever met. While I am a gay man, I am nothing like Will and James but they didn't bother me. In fact none of the teams bothered me. It is a TV show, if you didn't care for the people on it, I don't know why you bothered watching it.
by Anonymous | reply 474 | December 18, 2020 4:01 PM |
I always root for the gay team, but when they were in the lead and uturned the Nerds just for spite, I changed my mind. I find them obnoxious and unlikable, having nothing to do with their being gay. They also ruined the entire show with the alliances.
by Anonymous | reply 475 | December 18, 2020 4:19 PM |
Go away, Covid. Give us back our real TAR!
by Anonymous | reply 476 | December 18, 2020 4:27 PM |
R475, did they really U- turn them out of spite though? If I remember correctly, they seemed to be under the belief that the Nerds were threats for some reason -- which I don't really get. Maybe they thought they would be dangerous in puzzle-type challenges?
by Anonymous | reply 477 | December 18, 2020 4:28 PM |
I liked that the male nerd said at the finale, how could he love a team so much that had u-turned him
by Anonymous | reply 478 | December 18, 2020 5:01 PM |
The male nerd reminded me of a hotter, skinnier Johnny Galecki as Leonard from "Big Bang Theory" but with facial hair
by Anonymous | reply 479 | December 18, 2020 5:53 PM |
I’m glad the gays are getting all the hate. They deserve it. Snd just because they are gay, that doesn’t mean they have to act like stereotypical homo queens. No wonder the straights are grossed out by fem homos.
by Anonymous | reply 480 | December 18, 2020 6:01 PM |
That’s who they are. They don’t have to butch it up to spare you embarrassment.
by Anonymous | reply 481 | December 18, 2020 6:15 PM |
Maybe some straights hate them, but all the other teams had tears in their eyes, of course except for the beard bros and the married Asians, but everyone else was thrilled that they won
by Anonymous | reply 482 | December 18, 2020 6:35 PM |
Totally agree r475!
by Anonymous | reply 483 | December 18, 2020 7:07 PM |

What happened to Freddy and Kendra Amazing Race?
They tied the knot on May 27, 2005 and had two children together before divorcing. Freddy's since remarried, to a woman named Ginger in 2015. Kendra's appeared to have moved on as well, as her Instagram page is full of date night photos with an unidentified male who seems to be the father of her younger children. (Jun 27, 2019)
Where is Flo from amazing race now?
Florinka is currently the director of public relations for Gucci. Zach also works in the company as a production assistant. She started out on the Amazing Race season (3.Oct 12, 2020)
Are Jonathan and Victoria still together?
On October 6, 2006, Victoria gave birth to their daughter, Trease Alynette Baker. Jonathan & Victoria have since divorced sometime in January 2010.

Jonathan and Victoria!
THE WORST OF ALL TIME!
I wanted to reach through the TV and yank Jonathan's scraggly hair and kick him in his nuts. What a spastic, abusive, ridiculous son-of-a-cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 488 | December 18, 2020 9:57 PM |
I disliked - not hated - W&J the same way I dislike annoying young blonde teams. All histrionics. Everything is over the top and at a high pitch. Has nothing to do with them being gay, just annoying. I never liked the clowns either, and they were straight men. Danny and Oscar form season 2 were even femmier gays than W&J but I loved them.

[quote]Which season is the most exciting?
Season 2 had the most exciting finish. Literally a couple dozen yards separated the final teams at the finish line in San Francisco.
Season 2 also features a solid cast (including "villains" Wil & Tara and gay best friends Oswald & Danny) and a really interesting route (Brazil, South Africa, Namibia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Oceania, Hawaii, and Alaska).

I met the infamous Oswald once at TARcon. Danny and Oswald were the Will and James of their day:

Oswald was SO cute. And I thought Chip was quite good-looking as well. (Better than Reichen.)

[quote]Which season did one of the final teams never get out of Australia on the final leg?
Season 4. "Best Friends" David & Jeff were in first place leaving the pit stop in Queensland, but they ended up stuck in the airport in Sydney. They hadn't booked a connecting flight to Hawaii, thinking that they could get one upon arrival in Sydney. They were wrong. The other two teams -- Chip & Reichen and Jon & Kelly -- did not make the same mistake.
by Anonymous | reply 499 | December 20, 2020 1:23 AM |
I never saw seasons 1 or 2, so I'm watching them on Hulu.
Season one is SO unpolished. No Phil at the mat, lots of focus on travel and airports, lots of "find x" instead of actual tasks. I feel like I'm getting to know the racers a lot better, but I like the current iteration more. There was so little urgency.
by Anonymous | reply 500 | December 20, 2020 7:50 AM |
The boyfriends were so irritating. I wanted Hung and Chee to win.
What I really disliked about the episode though was the digging through the king cakes. It was so wasteful and a huge mess that someone had to clean up. Each person went through what, about 50 cakes? I hate throwing away food and to see it on display like this is really a shame.
by Anonymous | reply 501 | December 20, 2020 1:45 PM |
r501 I literally wept.

All those cakes! Hundreds of cakes--ruined! That could have been a nice little in-between snack for someone!
by Anonymous | reply 503 | December 20, 2020 3:01 PM |
Oh please R503. They sent the leftovers to Chrissy. She was in hog heaven.

Those beignets looked delicious
by Anonymous | reply 506 | December 21, 2020 5:33 AM |
They’re kind of like an Entenmann’s Danish.
by Anonymous | reply 507 | December 21, 2020 5:46 AM |
Those looked like basic cinnamon swirl king cakes, which can be dryish. But king cakes come in many varieties. I've had fancy flavors: chocolate, cream cheese, Chantilly cream and berries, goat cheese and apples, orange, pecan and bourbon, pralines, fillings. These were all from bakeries. Last year we tried a coconut one from James Beard award winning bakery, Dong Phuong, which was delicious, but the wait in line was brutal, once was enough. I don't love the sprinkles on top or the frosting, I usually poke it off, however, Dong Phuong's frosting was different than other king cake frostings and tasted great..
TL;DR? Good king cake is very good, though the grocery store kinds can be a little blah.
by Anonymous | reply 508 | December 21, 2020 3:12 PM |
They should've just put Chrissy at the end of the long tables and thrown the mushed up cake in her direction to keep the tables clean. Any missed plastic babies would join the rest of accidentally-consumed non food items shoved in a pocket at the bottom of her small intestine.

Listening to Gary & DeAngelo’s podcast, Will & James winning margin was about 3 hours over Hung & Chee, with the Beard Bros coming in 30 minutes later. And DeAngelo cried at Will & James’s proposal.

HA! We can thank those nelly ass bitches Will and James for this. Thank you TAR for realizing this is a problem that needs to be corrected.
