The best actress on that show was Cheryl Ladd's Cobra II Mustang.

Shelly Hack always seemed like she was sleepwalking through her episodes, and Tanya Roberts always sounded like she had memorized the script phonetically, so it's hard for me to pick between the two of them.

I just watched the episode where Tanya Roberts was introduced. Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith are in the office learning about a new case. Cheryl Ladd asks, "Is it just the two of us on this one?" And Bosley says, "As long as Tiffany is extending her stay in New York."

As one reviewer wrote, Shelly Hack didn't show any fire or presence in her acting on the show - a terrible replacement for the popular Kate Jackson. A big shot behind the scenes said that after Shelly got the job she acted like a "bitch" and was not well liked. The ratings continued to go down and I think they were glad to give her the heave ho. Personally I liked Tanya Roberts much better.

Farrah Fawcett was the most beautiful angel but didn't really learn how to act (given the terrible scripts it was an uphill battle, period) until she left the show and made a number of fairly good movies and TV movies. She really improved as time went on.

Kate Jackson may not have been the prettiest angel but she had the best acting skills with that perky, animated, upbeat personality. The show never really recovered after she left.

R34 I agree on Kate's acting skills. She managed to make Sabrina Duncan a very unconventional, fun, playful and cool character. She also dared to have her hair not as long as the others and she wasn't that much into glam (after all it's a detective show not a catwalk). I think these are the reasons the other angels were perceived as more beautiful. But that's not true. Kate was just as gorgeous as the other girls and she had that extra something. Charisma. R7 R8 She definitely was the best actress by far (the only angel nominated for the Emmy's award - twice. Plus she landed the lead role on Kramer vs. Kramer but wasn't given the time to do it....). Kate was the unsung hero of the angels. That's why the show didn't work without her. At all.

R39 I think Sabrina wasn't any tougher than Jill and Kelly in this episode. The toughest thing she said was at 1:38 That prison guard sure was mean! Yes, of course Sabrina's idea of choking the bad cops from behind with their chains was brilliant and life-saving. As was Jill's idea with the potatoes. "Angels in Chains" was such a fun and entertaining episode. No wonder it's considered iconic!
