Part 3 - Actress Naya Rivera Missing After Swimming In Lake.
by Anonymous | reply 600 | July 11, 2020 5:07 PM |
Then out spake brave Santana,
The Mistress of the Gate:
"To every woman upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can woman die better
Than facing zero odds,
For the brackish depths of bathers,
And the bottom-dwelling cods?”

She's fine, she sends her love
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 10, 2020 4:32 AM |
If she’s found alive, I swear I’ll buckle down and finally watch GLEE!

I think you're safe, R4.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 10, 2020 4:41 AM |
R4 Watching that show that show is almost as bad a fate as drowning.

I still think she is wandering around the surrounding mountains confused and cold amd hungry!

Was sending this on the other thread, then it filled up:
Brackish water usually refers to where fresh water riverflow meets the saltwater of a bay/ocean. So usually an estuary or marshland. This lake doesn't mingle with saltwater -- it's just highly sedimented. This lake also recedes when water levels are low, and all forms of trees/plants sprout up on the dry lakebed. That's why there are lots of trees and vines in the lake.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 10, 2020 5:10 AM |
So happy to see Pon posting in Part 2! We have missed you!
Not that I had anything interesting to say or ask, but since I've been on my drank, I didn't realize I posted so late and the thread had closed. So, not to be THAT whore, I'm reposting, as I'm genuinely curious, and genuinely tipsy:
I haven't looked at part 1 but has anyone here actually been on this lake to testify to said "brackishness"? I used to go out to Lake Berryessa when I was but a wee fruit, and hated how dank the water was, but it wasn't THAT bad. It looked very similar to what this lake looks like. To me, (it is all about me) brackish is usually a disgusting color, horrible smell, gooey texture, and you get the no-no feeling (I'm on my 4th G&T **edit, now 5th** allow me my infantile stupidity) in your gut that it is bad to swim in, let alone take a fucking pleasure cruise on it.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 10, 2020 5:12 AM |
She probably watched Gone Girl and, being your typical attention starved psycho actress, hopes this will make her relevant again.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 10, 2020 5:14 AM |
I thought her last words were “Give my regards to foreign Broadway!” And “Don’t let the brackish water get you down.” “Glub glub!”

R12, here's a clip of the search from earlier today.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 10, 2020 5:26 AM |
This is sad. A friend of mine drowned in 8th grade, some 35 years ago. Similar situation- jumped off a boat, never resurfaced.
I’ve been terrified of freshwater lakes / rivers since then.
It has served me well.

This is bigger than Kobe.
And by "this" I mean Chrissy Metz.

Best thing for her really. Her therapy was going nowhere.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 10, 2020 5:31 AM |
As was mentioned in previous threads, the water in that lake is VERY cold. It could quickly incapacitate someone, even if they knew how to swim.

Watching Glee clips, Naya is giving me young Olivia Hussey.

EXTEND THE SEARCH OUTSIDE OF THE LAKE. through the BLM movement we all know how much of a difference petitions make. please share this and keep her in your prayers.
We DEMAND you IMMEDIATELY search Joans on Third, Pace, and Salt's Cure; search Golden Bridge Yoga, the Sweat Spot, and Body by Simone; search Sally Hershberger, Rossano Ferretti, and Sonia Dakar; search Agent Provocateur, La Perla, and Luxe; search Fred Segal, Ron Herman, and Planet Blue; search Moon Juice, Erewhon, and Kreation; search Fryman Canyon, Runyon Canyon, and the SM stairs; search Hammer and Spear, deKor, and Rolling Greens; search Remedy Place, Golden Folk Wellness, and Surya Spa. Why on earth would you go swimming in the middle of a dirty lake with a 4 year old with no other adults around? If anything, wouldn’t you swim near the edge near land if you have a little kid and you’re the only adult?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 10, 2020 5:55 AM |
Did anyone figure out why she decided to take herself and her 4-year-old out into the middle of a large, cold, empty lake?
That's the part that fucks me up.
That, and her last Twitter post (her kissing her kid with the caption "Just the two of us") really makes you wonder

I enjoyed Glee and even planned to finish the series at one point, but the tragic circumstances involving the deaths along with the news about Lea's onset behavior has forever tarnished this series for me. I don't think I could ever revisit it.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 10, 2020 6:01 AM |
R30 Exactly. Top that off with the breakdown she had with her ex a few years ago and I can’t help but to think this may have been suicide.

Here's an image of a receded lake (similar to Lake Piru) taken during a drought year. These are some of the goodies that lurk beneath the water surface. So somebody may think they're swimming in perfectly fine open water and then their leg gets caught in a branch or a vine and they can't disentangle.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 10, 2020 6:05 AM |
I think with Covid maybe the places to go are limited so she went somewhere peaceful and to get away (though to me it looks foreboding and too vast)

by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 10, 2020 6:46 AM |
I hope the kid eventually forgets everything that happened on the boat. It's going be hard growing up knowing that your mom drowned but it'll be worse if he remembers waiting for her on the boat.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 10, 2020 6:48 AM |
R47 Big foot in a one piece bathing suit? Looks more like Starr Jones to me.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 10, 2020 6:51 AM |
OK, I have to say that the photos posted look pretty fucking brackish. Maybe she got stuck in the mud? Fucking disgusting.
r48 Yeah. Glad the greedy fuckers who wanted their boat back....I mean the kind souls looking out for her...went out as early as they did when she was past check in time and found the wee lad OK. If they were on some extended smoke break, or just a IDGAF break, and the kid started to freak out (as I would have), and dunked in to find his mom, this would be so much more horrible.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 10, 2020 6:53 AM |
Maybe she dove in from the boat and hit her head on something under the water?

R12, I've only seen Berryessa from afar, but they're pretty similar -- didn't get near Berryessa water, so can't say for sure though. Piru's water is not pristine but it's not foul-smelling like a wetlands.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 10, 2020 7:02 AM |
I don’t have time to look through the other threads but I have a theory. This could also be due to all the Dateline episodes I watch. She’s famous and pretty so what if she had a stalker following her? The stalker could have also rented a boat and followed her? And then abduct her? Has anyone ever thought of that scenario?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 10, 2020 7:03 AM |
R47, you made me LOL! I somehow missed that lovely lady in the swimsuit.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | July 10, 2020 7:04 AM |
R56 and somehow the camera on the parking lot, the dock and the rental area totally missed them! You solved it!
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 10, 2020 7:06 AM |
R56, I was just reading Twitter and apparently there’s a video of a Jetski that was going in one direction, and it stopped and then started following her. I haven’t heard anymore about it but it might be a good idea to find that person and talk to them.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 10, 2020 7:07 AM |
[quote]I assumed this was an accidental drowning but after watching those tourism videos where I see it's relatively safe to go in the water, am now leaning either toward suicide, though it could still be a freak accident.
The fact that she had a life vest for the son but she wasn’t wearing one makes me think suicide too.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 10, 2020 7:07 AM |
[quote]R56 She’s famous and pretty so what if she had a stalker following her? The stalker could have also rented a boat and followed her? And then abduct her? Has anyone ever thought of that scenario?
No, that has not been mentioned.
(I believe) Her son says “she went swimming and didn’t come up.” You’d think he’d mention an abduction.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 10, 2020 7:08 AM |
R56 I think that is doubtful but possibly a man that was in the area and saw a woman swimming alone...and the kid would have no clue what was going on in the water since he was probably on his ipad. More than likely she just drowned but with no body it will stay mysterious.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 10, 2020 7:11 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 71 | July 10, 2020 8:45 AM |
Boat rental operation insisted the 4-year-old wear a life jacket and probably helped to put it on him.
Don't understand why anyone would want to swim in a very cold lake unless it's to go wading by the shore. An actress putting your face into less than clean water? Only natural lakes have constant water flow.
I'd like to know if she kissed and hugged her son before going into the water. Would the boy be able to reveal more under hypnosis?
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 10, 2020 8:45 AM |
How long does it take a drowned body take to start floating?
by Anonymous | reply 73 | July 10, 2020 8:46 AM |
R12, now on your 5th G&T. Careful, tonic water can cause hives and other allergic symptoms. I found out when my over indulgence of G&Ts during lockdown left me befuddled by these welt like marks on my arm. I couldn't figure out what had caused it. Just by accident when googling for fancier tonic waters I came across the fact that some people can be allergic to tonic water.
Now I am more judicious when it comes to indulging.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | July 10, 2020 8:49 AM |
Apparently it depends on the type of water but it can take a few days to a week R73 or perhaps longer. It’s possible NR’s body snagged on something under the surface and won’t naturally rise by itself, said the police. That said, it seems in all or nearly all reported cases online at this particular lake (Wikipedia has a summary), they have found the body sooner or later.
Realistically most bodies of water have... well... bodies in them, and inevitably she is dead, but I hope they find her.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | July 10, 2020 8:53 AM |
Not sure if it’s already been shared, but here is who the KPop stans and other asserted Twitter morons think should be “trying harder”: volunteers searching by touch underwater because visibility is so poor.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | July 10, 2020 9:03 AM |
How would you like to be one of those scuba diver rescue people that find dead bodies underwater? That’s got to be super scary to find a dead body in murky water! I would have nightmares!
by Anonymous | reply 77 | July 10, 2020 9:14 AM |
Naya Rivera stans sound like the cult Oprah Winfrey used to push. They're convinced anything you wish will happen if you "manifest" it enough. How many affirmations would you need to repeat to bring back Naya alive and laughing?
by Anonymous | reply 78 | July 10, 2020 9:19 AM |
I would be terrified too, R77. Those guys are so brave. Firstly to be underwater in those conditions and secondly to sadly be looking for a body.
If the stans want to help, then how about raising some money for those volunteers.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | July 10, 2020 9:30 AM |
It would be best for her career if the body never turns up.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | July 10, 2020 9:49 AM |
Something feels very off about this case. Is it normal to carry on big bags full of things for a three hour trip on a little boat on a lake? That water doesn't look inviting to swim in. The lake is out in the middle of nowhere with only a road halfaw around it (Google map). Why just the two of them with no friends or family? She was familiar with the lake so having a accident seems out-of-place. This is such a sad, mysterious case. If she wanted to end it, why in the middle of a lake & putting 4 yr old son in danger? And lastly, in this age of drones and invasive technology, it's amazing nobody saw a thing. Occam's razor - maybe she was drinking and accidentally drowned. Very sad story.

I feel really sad about this, she was my favourite character on Glee and I absolutely love the version she did of the Taylor Swift song 'Mine'.
I don't think it was suicide, just a horrible swimming accident. I would love her to be found safe and well but it doesn't seem likely, so I think if that's not going to happen I hope they at least find the body and she can have a proper funeral etc. Poor son :-(
by Anonymous | reply 88 | July 10, 2020 10:10 AM |
[Quote] just a horrible swimming accident.
Why would she go swimming and leave the child alone?
by Anonymous | reply 89 | July 10, 2020 10:18 AM |
This reminds me of a Kennedy and her son who jumped into a canoe on the Chesapeake Bay to fetch a soccer ball and they drowned (apparently no life jackets were worn). And they had grown up swimming and canoeing.
Drownings are not uncommon. There have been a spate of multiple drownings at Far Rockaway Beach recently.
I can see her wanting to go swimming one last time before they returned the boat, and being overcome by the cold water.
When you hear hooves, don't go looking for zebras. Stick with the horses = accidental drowning.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | July 10, 2020 10:22 AM |
It’s much more likely that she swam around the boat and left the child in it as a possibly unwise decision, or that they were both swimming and somehow she helped the child back into the boat, but didn’t have the energy to lift herself into it after being injured or pulled underwater somehow, than Rivera engaged in an elaborate suicide or planned murder-suicide plot.
Swimming / drowning accidents are fairly common and that someone has drowned or put themselves in a position to do so may look illogical at first glance, but usually tends to have a mundane explanation. Influence of alcohol, water colder than expected, they get stuck on something underneath the water and can’t free themselves, they experience a health issue in the water and can’t get out, or simply overestimate swimming ability especially in lake conditions.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | July 10, 2020 10:23 AM |
R90 the Kennedy woman and her kid really died over a soccer ball?? Jeez. And I thought jumping after a dog was dumb (plenty of cases where sheepish and wet-looking dog eventually drags himself or herself to safety whilst caring owner has drowned in the interim trying to save said dog).
by Anonymous | reply 92 | July 10, 2020 10:25 AM |
I've never been out in a boat but just thinking if those few people on the dock noticed anything off about these two, and don't the owners of the boat rental see fit to go patrol maybe once an hour to check on their boats and monitor for problems?
by Anonymous | reply 93 | July 10, 2020 10:26 AM |
What was the temperature that day. It can get pretty hot on boats in the sun in mid afternoon. Possibly they got hot and jumped in to cool off and any number of things happened that led to her drowning. It sounds like the child says he was swimming too but got back on the boat.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | July 10, 2020 10:27 AM |
Why should they, R93? Their service is to provide the boat and lifejackets. They rent these to adults who take the risk of using them, with their children if that’s their choice. Boat rental are not search and rescue experts, and undertaking to actively check on boats could expose them to liability as they have then assumed an extra duty of care and suggested they provide some kind of monitoring service. Best to say “boat rented at your own risk.” That’s life.
They checked on the boat when it didn’t come back after the agreed time and called it in, I think that’s all anyone can expect.

The boat was unanchored. You would anchor the boat before jumping off to go swimming, no?

I might, R101. My point was simply that a dumb swimming decision is more likely than suicide or murder. People do frequently commit suicide, but not this way.

[quote] The fact that she had a life vest for the son but she wasn’t wearing one makes me think suicide too.
The kid had a life vest on because he was 4. She took hers off because she was an adult and a swimmer who overestimated her abilities/underestimated the dangers of the lake.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | July 10, 2020 11:29 AM |
And when people jump off a boat to go swimming, they more than likely anchor it.

She jumped in the water to retrieve her phone, panicked, and didn't come back up.
My 2 cents.

True. But we have no reason to think this kid had an iPad with him on a boat in the middle of a lake, let alone that he found it so absorbing he didn’t even take an interest in whether mom was ever going to get back on the boat. Lord there are some dumb people posting here.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | July 10, 2020 11:38 AM |
if she grew up going to that lake she would know that there’s no fucking lifeguard. AND you never leave a child on a boat alone even if they’re wearing a life vest. Maybe that familiarity gave her a sense of overconfidence.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | July 10, 2020 11:40 AM |
[quote] But she was no stranger to the lake.
Yes, r108, which may have contributed to her overconfidence that she could jump in the water and be fine. And 99 times out of 100, she probably could have, but this time an unexpected problem obviously happened.

R110 Why do you think parents hand their brats iPads in the first place? It keeps them fully occupied and engaged. They don’t give a shit about anything that’s not happening on that screen and they don’t look up until it’s wrested away from them.

[Quote] if she grew up going to that lake she would know that there’s no fucking lifeguard. AND you never leave a child on a boat alone even if they’re wearing a life vest. Maybe that familiarity gave her a sense of overconfidence.
Your second sentence makes no sense in light of your first. Is one of them a quote?

Do we know for sure that she didn’t anchor the boat?
by Anonymous | reply 117 | July 10, 2020 12:00 PM |
R115, not anchoring the boat doesn’t mean there was any nefarious intent here. Plenty of people experienced in boats / on the water make stupid decisions. Here’s a father who killed himself and his daughter and himself (and permanently disabled his wife) because he didn’t think it through. Officially, accidental death. You can ask, by grabbing the controls wasn’t he intent on killing them all?? Probably not, probably just being overconfident.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | July 10, 2020 12:00 PM |
R117 we think the boat wasn’t anchored because it’s suggested in news reports that the boat rental people found it drifting, but various aspects of this incident are not confirmed yet.

How old are you, R93? Why is it the responsibility of a boat rental company to go check on a grown woman once an hour? They've got other things to do and they're not search and rescue. Do you also expect car rental companies to go driving around to check on their customers?

Kid needs to be re-interviewed again with play therapist. Give him some toy figurines and a boat, tell him to play with them without leading him into anything. If he does something odd or interesting then ask him why he’s playing that way. They do that with child abuse or suspected child abuse cases.

Kids that age have very limited vocabulary, so who knows what he means when he said “she jumped in”. She may have very well fallen overboard.
Something else that sticks out to me is that the child said they were swimming but she did not get back on, with no mention of how the child got in the water initially and how he got back on the boat.
Could it plausible that she fell over and he went in after her and considers this a swim?

Kids that age can’t put right words to describe events. That’s why reputable law enforcement agencies will involve child therapists who do play therapy. Mommy went swimming and didn’t cone back may have completely different meaning when he’s playing with mom and baby dolls on a boat.

R152 I guess you’re trolling, naturally the police have looked into that and have the evidence of a child who while he can’t give a perfect account at age 4, will likely be able to say whether they were alone (or indeed whether a boat ran his mother over).

The TMZ article reports that the child says that they both jumped into the water, he swam back to the boat and climbed on. She didn't. So it sounds like they were in the water together and either immediately from jumping or during their swim she went under. The child would be able to tell them if she resurfaced after jumping in or not.
And twitter is nuts. Lots of abduction theories right now. One tweet also said that it has been 24 hours - does anyone know how long someone can live underwater...

How does a 3-year-old swim back and get himself back on the boat? Kids this age are also great fantasists so you really need experts to interview the kid to get a semblance to what really happened. Not only will they ask him what occurred on the boat but earlier events in the day leading up to going to that deserted lake.

Women used to kill themselves by drowning more frequently than they do now partly due to the romanticizing of water deaths in artworks like Ophelia and Lady of Shalott.
Behold citizens of Ventura, now you shall have your very own legend in the Lady of Piru. Legend has it that she is often sighted in the early afternoons with her ghostly mirage rising from the opaque waters. If the wind blows a certain way you can sometimes hear her cuss out a certain Ms. Lea Michelle
by Anonymous | reply 192 | July 10, 2020 4:56 PM |
While this is of course a tragedy for her family and loved ones, the truth is is that that drowning remains and relatively common, but banal and unremarkable cause of death. All it took was for her to not be as strong a swimmer as she thought she was. It's as simple and and as ordinary as that.
I think in an age of medical miracles where longevity is almost guaranteed and even pathologised at the expense of quality of life, a lot of people have difficulty comprehending that people still simply just drown.

I think you’re on to something, r190. Very few first names have a Y in them and even fewer words start with Z.
Z is the next letter after Y! Are we supposed to believe that’s a coincidence? Seriously?
Now let’s move on to another likely scenario. There’s a very good chance that the thing she was carrying was a drugged lookalike wrapped in a white sheet.
She could tell the boat rental agents it was a cooler with snacks for the kid and they’d be none the wiser.
She gets out into the water; drugs the kid and the lookalike; throws the lookalike overboard to drown; sets the boat adrift; swims to the jet ski she had previously buried on one of the undiscovered islands and — boom! — brand new life in the Midwest.
Mark my words.

Don't know if anyone else has commented, but I saw raw video from the security cameras. She pulls up, gets out of her car, then gets the kid out of the car. Both Naya and her son are both wearing backpacks. Fine. But what got my attention is Naya then pulls a large white sack out and slings it over her shoulder. it looked heavy. So did she have some diving gear? She and her son swam for a while, then she put him back in the boat. He has a life jacket on. I guess to make sure if he fell out of the boat he wouldn't drown? She dove in and she didn't come back. That's what he told the cops. So was she diving for some reason ? Got tangled, and drown? IMO she was doing something risky and stupid and paid the price. She should have had some other adult with her.

I think it was the ghost of Shelley Winters. She grabbed that poor girl by her tatted ankle and Mrs. Rosened her in the murky depths til she could breathe no more. And now she's sitting on her lifeless corpse, making everybody wait.
Oh, there's nothing worse than vengeful ghost!

The fact that there's a drain in that lake, absolutely terrifies me.
It's like a swimming pool, where you can be trapped in the suction of the drain at the bottom of the pool.

[quote]R199 Now let’s move on to another likely scenario. There’s a very good chance that the thing she was carrying was a drugged lookalike wrapped in a white sheet. She could tell the boat rental agents it was a cooler with snacks for the kid and they’d be none the wiser.
[quote]She gets out into the water; drugs the kid and the lookalike; throws the lookalike overboard to drown; sets the boat adrift; swims to the jet ski she had previously buried on one of the undiscovered islands and — boom! — brand new life in the Midwest.

I swim off the vineyards between Lausanne and Vevey Switzerland, where soon after leaving shore its over 800 feet deep. Kind of horrifying. I never do this alone. Not that a companion would save you if go under and don't come up, sinking hundreds of feet into a cold dark lake. I prefer the shallow parts of the lake but they warm up and then the duck mites start biting humans.
This woman had a death wish.
There are some surprisingly big fish in lakes, though I don't know about which fish in Lake Piru could bite.

What I don’t get is why the “lake” which is really a man made reservoir of dank water surrounded by not much greenery and without lakeshore beaches, is being described as a tourist spot. You want a top tourist spot as well as everyday recreational area that’s worth hanging out? Try Lake Tahoe between NorCal and Nevada which is a natural lake with different beaches and coves for all sorts of activities including swimming. Lake Piru shouldn’t even be called a lake.
by Anonymous | reply 353 | July 10, 2020 8:39 PM |
I think part of the appeal of Lake Piru is not a lot of people go there.

by Anonymous | reply 355 | July 10, 2020 8:43 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 361 | July 10, 2020 8:55 PM |
There's nothing suspicious about the walking in the parking lot. Driving and parking, I'll give you that. But Why would she eagle eye the kid when they're walking in a practically empty parking lot? She would hear a car if it was coming. No need to hold a 4 year olds hand in that situation.
by Anonymous | reply 362 | July 10, 2020 8:55 PM |
I said yesterday she was driving like someone who isn’t sober, but the thread’s view overall was bad parking can happen anytime.
But something about the decision-making in the footage suggests “intoxication”, drink or pills, to me. I’m just your regular recovering alcoholic and not an expert of course.
by Anonymous | reply 363 | July 10, 2020 8:56 PM |

Her parking wasn't AWFUL, just a little off. And she was a few feet away from the kid as they walked. Perfectly reasonable behavior for a vacant lot with nobody around. They weren't walking around Venice Beach.
by Anonymous | reply 366 | July 10, 2020 9:00 PM |
R365 Sure, but most of them don’t drown in a lake right after and we are here speculating about what went down.
I have never seen anyone try to park the way Rivera did in an empty lot. It’s the decisions she makes in that short clip as much as how badly she executes them (and I suck at driving and parking myself).

I agree she is not as physically close to a 4 year old as I would expect a mother to be when out in public, traffic or not they are very close to a large body or water and she should be holding his hand.
May I say I’m not judging her and not all parents are on top of their game 24/7, but if we want to see things that are “off”, they’re right there in the video.

The worst part about her parking job, more than being outside of the lines, was that she had it right the first time if she'd have just stopped her car. Instead, she pulled out of the spot and backed up to where her car had literally just been. That's something a drunk would do. Made no sense, but maybe she's just not that bright.

Was she drunk or on drugs? The way she parked her car doesn't look like the way a sober person would park. And then she leaves her 4-year old son about 20 feet behind her, even when she's walking down the borderless dock.
Sumpthin' ain't right.
by Anonymous | reply 380 | July 10, 2020 10:33 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 383 | July 10, 2020 10:45 PM |
I know that if I had a 4-year old with me, especially near water, I'd be holding their hand.
And it's odd that she parked as far away as she did from the dock, when there were plenty of spaces closer to the dock. Looking at this, I'm thinking she was drunk or drugged out. She probably got high in the morning, then said to her kid, "Hey, wouldn't it be fun to go out on a boat today," then threw a bunch of shit into a white duffle bag and grabbed her car keys.
by Anonymous | reply 384 | July 10, 2020 10:54 PM |

It was a nearly empty parking lot so her parking is not that much of an issue. I see a lot of people parking weirdly because they don't want anyone near their car. I do wonder why she parked so far from where the boats were.
by Anonymous | reply 392 | July 11, 2020 12:19 AM |
R392, my sister does that. But she straddles the line, doesn’t park diagonally. She’s paranoid about dings.
When we are going to a populated place, sometimes we will park near the entrance/exit, even though it’s far from the destination. When it’s time to leave, you don’t have to wait forever to exit. Of course, no one was even at the lake that day.

The way she parked the car indicates that she was meeting her drug dealer in the middle of the lake. She didn't have any money so she had sex with him on the boat, but she got too into his BBC and when she came, she lost her footing, hit her head on his boat, and fell into the water.
The drug dealer was pissed because he hadn't cum yet so be took the bricks of heroin, made the boy swear not to tell anyone, and sailed away into the darkness.

Here's another thing. I noticed on the video of them walking to the dock, there were several people walking from her boat to the center, maybe where people check in. I wonder if any of those people noticed anything notable about Naya and Josey before leaving on that boat. I'll bet they were each interviewed. I have a feeling all was pretty normal. On the video they looked relatively ordinary - it's not like she tripped or dropped things, etc. Each parent is different. Some parents let their children take the lead and others do the leading. This video looked like two people headed to a routine, fun outing. Then, maybe she just made a mistake and drowned. It would be great though if this story has a happy ending, but probably not.

I still think Naya might have been chasing waterfalls and that the song might hold vital clues. Perhaps she was trying to recreate that dancing on top of the water stunt when she went under. There are references to a “mother and son” and “to the lakes that you’re used to.” In the video people vanish and can’t be seen. They haven’t defunded their police there yet, have they?
Also, can someone please explain the iPad thing to me? I asked and haven’t received the answer. Is it ridiculous because no one would bring an iPad on a boat? Children don’t like them? Only old people have them?

R496 Not sure if you're serious but tablets are the new stuffed animals. Small children love to play games and watch videos and parents love the free babysitter.

How hot was it on the lake the day Naya disappeared? Had she brought enough water in her over sized bag? Very easy to dehydrate and then to feel dizzy, especially if you've been taking pain killers or any other meds.

[quote] Is it ridiculous because no one would bring an iPad on a boat?
No, not at all, but it is a little ridiculous to think (as someone up thread suggested) that a preschooler alone on a boat would not be watching and waiting for mommy to come out of the water and wouldn’t notice her getting kidnapped or run over by a boat, all because he was THAT into his iPad. I mean, sure, little kids love them, but I think most are just slightly more attached to their mothers.

It was a hit & run accident and that's why nobody confessed. This happens more than you think.
The other boat wouldn't be damaged from hitting her body. And there's nothing to return if the boat is owned by someone.
As seen in the surveillance footage, the lake was mostly deserted, so there was no one around to witness the accident.

It’s a man-made lake. Either developers mowed the flora/fauna down, and the water wouldn’t perc anymore, or they did it on purpose to hide the ugly they left behind.
Either way, the tree stumps and tree roots likely impaled her below the surface. It’s not even an attractive man made lake, why would anyone want to swim in sludge?

How would they be caught on camera? If the whole lake was watched by surveillance cameras, then we would already know what happened to her.
What makes you think there would be any physical evidence to be left onshore?
On a low-traffic day, many boaters don't pay close attention because they think nobody else is out there.

Lana del rey stan: they said in boats, didn’t mention people on jet skis.
Lys Hibiscus: [italic]Yeah probably because they didn’t realize they need to spell out every f-in baby detail of their protocol. What, you thought they looked at the people on the lake and said “oh that person not on a “boat” just a jet ski, won’t interview them”!?

BAKE NAYA'S ZECHUS NOW!
[quote]Sources told YWN that approximately 5:00AM on Monday morning, a group of 10 Rabbonim gathered on a boat on the lake, and performed a Segula in the hope of finding the body of Naftali Z”L. Apparently, a flat bread was baked in his Zechus, and the bread was set afloat on the lake with a lit candle on it.
[quote]Certain Tehillim and other Tefillos were then said until the bread stopped moving. At that precise location a stone was dropped into the water, and shortly later the body rose to the surface!

From Naya's memoir, about Mark Salling:
“Similar to how I feel about the whore years, I think everyone should have that one relationship where you look back and ask yourself, “What the hell was I thinking?” You’ll learn something and you won’t regret it. Unless, of course, that relationship was with someone who had a sizable stash of child porn on his computer. Then, by all means, regret everything."

I haven’t seen online a missing person case at Lake Piru where the body wasn’t eventually found. I mean, I only spent a LITTLE time on it...
For some time Wikipedia did not record that Naftoli Smolyansky’s body had been found (perhaps because of the odd nature of some of the reports of how it was located, which may or may not be true), meaning it looked like it perhaps hadn’t been, but they found him. In all the cases listed on the Wiki entry for the lake, they have found the body sooner or later.
I believe the likelihood is the body will turn up, but unlike other cases, they seemingly don’t have accurate witness testimony as to where in the lake she might be. Rivera’s son is old enough to have seen his mother in trouble in the water and get a sense of that but possibly not to say whereabouts on the lake they were at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 574 | July 11, 2020 8:41 AM |
I love the comments on Twitter that “something is off about this case” as if it’s the mystery of the year.
I know drowning is a pretty basic way to go, but mother and child go out on boat on lake, child tells police they were both in the water and mommy didn’t make it back into the boat — that means only one place mommy is. It’s very sad, but she has drowned, and no doubt it’s one of the simpler missing person cases the police will get this year.
The lake is a big body of water and not easy to search, but we know where Naya is, roughly-speaking. I do hope they find her so she can be laid to rest.
Not that any of that would stop me posting in these threads, obviously, or continuing to judge people on Twitter.

by Anonymous | reply 578 | July 11, 2020 9:30 AM |
No life jacket, cold water with debris = accidental drowning. Maybe the Rabbonim who found Naftoli Smolyansky can be hired to say some Psalms ( Tehillim) and then perform the bread and candle miracle to find Naya. They have are at least likely to find her as are the search and rescue team.
by Anonymous | reply 579 | July 11, 2020 9:36 AM |
I would think a team made up of Naftoli's body prayer group plus the psychics would get results . Even it it just annoys the spirit of Lake Piru enough to spit her out .
