Chadwick Boseman gets dropped off at the ER

[quote]CHADWICK Boseman was seen in a wheelchair as he entered a Los Angeles hospital emergency room on Friday. The 42-year-old Black Panther star was dropped off at a Santa Monica medical center by his rumored fiancée, Taylor Simone, two months after fans expressed concern over his drastic weight loss.[quote]

What's wrong with him?

Drug addiction? He seemed a bit "off" in that video in the article.

by Anonymousreply 1June 20, 2020 10:40 AM

This is all a result of that sideye he gave Leo at the Golden Globes.

by Anonymousreply 2June 20, 2020 10:48 AM

AIDS or Meth.

by Anonymousreply 3June 20, 2020 11:06 AM

He is a vegetarian.

by Anonymousreply 4June 20, 2020 11:09 AM

He kind of seems the type to develop an eating disorder. They can hit you fast.

by Anonymousreply 5June 20, 2020 11:10 AM

crack.....alas

by Anonymousreply 6June 20, 2020 11:11 AM

[Quote] He kind of seems the type to develop an eating disorder.

What are you basing that on? A... vibe?

by Anonymousreply 7June 20, 2020 11:12 AM

If he's getting "dropped off" at the hospital, he's probably going into detox for drug addiction.

Based on his drastic weight loss and facial wasting, I'm guessing meth.

by Anonymousreply 8June 20, 2020 11:13 AM

Jeez, he looked terrible in April, I missed all that and had no idea. Could be a health issue, but he surely would have gotten attention for that long before now.

by Anonymousreply 9June 20, 2020 11:17 AM

Drugs? Anorexia? Something's up

[quote] If he's getting "dropped off" at the hospital, he's probably going into detox for drug addiction.

In ordinary times, yes, but with the advent of Corona and no visitors, it’s really not that odd.

by Anonymousreply 12June 20, 2020 11:24 AM

I think he has too much hair for it to be cancer. He probably has lupus.

by Anonymousreply 13June 20, 2020 11:31 AM

He has been losing weight since 2018. It really started to go down even more last year and then that video came out in April.

He has another action film lined up in addition to a second Black Panther film. It's a lot of pressure to deal with, I imagine.

Whatever the case, I wish him good health.

by Anonymousreply 14June 20, 2020 11:38 AM

Drugs, clearly. Dropped off in a wheel-chair, not brought by paramedics?? A wicked addiction of some kind.

by Anonymousreply 15June 20, 2020 11:43 AM

Could be a lot of things, not drug related.

As for meth, he doesn't have the facial sores and bad teeth so I doubt that.

by Anonymousreply 16June 20, 2020 11:47 AM

At first I thought how strange a popular movie star gets dropped off alone at hospital then I remembered how the world has changed since the virus.

by Anonymousreply 17June 20, 2020 12:07 PM

Have you never seen the opening scene of "Postcards from the Edge"?

by Anonymousreply 18June 20, 2020 12:08 PM

Just look at r10, I will drop him too," I want the 2018 model back please!"

by Anonymousreply 19June 20, 2020 12:13 PM

Just look at r10, I will drop him too," I want the 2018 model back please!"

by Anonymousreply 20June 20, 2020 12:13 PM

Hmm, OP's link no longer works. Why'd they take the story down?

by Anonymousreply 21June 20, 2020 12:14 PM

I don't think it's a junkie situation. He's probably fighting a long term illness other than addiction.

by Anonymousreply 22June 20, 2020 12:15 PM

[quote] I think he has too much hair for it to be cancer.

Chemotherapy doesn’t always affect the hair. I was surprised at that too.

by Anonymousreply 23June 20, 2020 12:17 PM

Oh wow, how weird. Besides being a possible personal tragedy for him I'm immediately feeling bad for the black community since Black Panther was such an empowering moment and I'm sure the sequel is the one film they're all waiting for.

by Anonymousreply 24June 20, 2020 12:18 PM

Black people are not a monolith.

by Anonymousreply 25June 20, 2020 12:19 PM

I have no clue.

by Anonymousreply 26June 20, 2020 12:22 PM

Look at the URL, it says "legal-removal" in it, R21. Someone's lawyers got involved, it looks like.

by Anonymousreply 27June 20, 2020 12:22 PM

He's just getting all the semen pumped out of his stomach.

by Anonymousreply 28June 20, 2020 12:23 PM

R27 Interesting. Whatever's going on with him, they're sure trying to keep it quiet.

by Anonymousreply 29June 20, 2020 12:24 PM

Meth. It’s meth if they’re being that secretive

by Anonymousreply 30June 20, 2020 12:26 PM

He's cute, and cleans up well - but the freaky weight loss (meth?) is not a good look for him.

by Anonymousreply 31June 20, 2020 12:26 PM

I doubt it's meth. Didn't he put a video on IG when someone passed? His management would have taken it down within the hour. He looks bad because of an illness, not because of a crack binge.

by Anonymousreply 32June 20, 2020 12:28 PM

looks like meth....really does

by Anonymousreply 33June 20, 2020 12:30 PM

[quote]He kind of seems the type to develop an eating disorder.

Yes, he very much fits the type for eating disorder patients - an overachieving white teen girl.

by Anonymousreply 34June 20, 2020 12:30 PM

Rona

by Anonymousreply 35June 20, 2020 12:31 PM

It's much more plausible, considering his general "type", that he simply contracted HIV from a tranny hooker.

by Anonymousreply 36June 20, 2020 12:32 PM

As a couple of others have said if you are an adult that can communicate with the staff you are not allowed visitors in the ER and probably anywhere in a hospital right now. I sat on a bench for 2 hours the other day waiting for my Mom to get checked at an ER. So the dropping off part is SOP right now.

by Anonymousreply 37June 20, 2020 12:36 PM

[quote] He's just getting all the semen pumped out of his stomach.

Oh that’s just ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 38June 20, 2020 12:37 PM

He was starting his shift as a Candy Striper.

by Anonymousreply 39June 20, 2020 12:39 PM

In the UK, it's Marc Almond who was rumoured to have had his stomach pumped after swallowing pints of semen.

Anyway, wishing Boseman the best.

by Anonymousreply 40June 20, 2020 12:41 PM

R2, please elaborate further

by Anonymousreply 41June 20, 2020 12:45 PM

I dont think this is drugs, he looks really frail and sick

common story, fame and $$$$… party a bit, then a lot....then ill from over use

by Anonymousreply 45June 20, 2020 12:55 PM

If you read his wiki page, he was an overachiever as well.

Eating disorders don't just hit Type-A white girls, R34, even if they represent the majority/plurality of cases.

That being said, I have no theory as to why he's underweight. I just hope he gets better.

by Anonymousreply 46June 20, 2020 1:05 PM

Full-blown AIDS with a high viral load. Very common in down-low black males who are in denial and don’t get tested or seek treatment early enough.

by Anonymousreply 47June 20, 2020 1:11 PM

Yikes, I hope he gets better

by Anonymousreply 48June 20, 2020 1:22 PM

At least he isn't fat. He's still got that going for him.

by Anonymousreply 49June 20, 2020 1:25 PM

Whitney will never be fat. It's not healthy.

by Anonymousreply 50June 20, 2020 1:27 PM

r46 I know that from experience, because I am a man and I had anorexia at 20-21 years old. But, aside from being a man and a little older than the average anorexic when I first developed the disease, I fit the stereotype of the disease very well: high grades, obsessive-compulsive traits such as being rigid and perfectionist, bookish and retiring, etc.

I agree with part of what you said, that he seems to have overachieved in his youth, but there is no evidence that he possesses any of the other correlates of the disease.

In addition to personality and psychopathological factors, the age factor is of enormous importance in the development of anorexia. I read in a scientific publication that at least some experts on the subject consider it impossible to develop anorexia after the age of 25. There are older people with the disease, but these are chronic cases, developed at a younger age.

That someone - especially a straight black man, perhaps the sociodemographic group least concerned with body weight and personal beauty - would develop anorexia in middle age, would shock many experts on the subject.

I think he got diabetes of the wiener.

by Anonymousreply 59June 20, 2020 1:48 PM

He’s just preparing for his next starring role in a biopic about me.

I will say he certainly puts the meth in “method acting’”

by Anonymousreply 60June 20, 2020 1:49 PM

He looked gaunt in Netflix's Spike Lee film DA 5 BLOODS.

by Anonymousreply 61June 20, 2020 1:50 PM

R46, I respect your personal share and appreciate you sharing the additional information. I have no idea what his youth was like and if he developed the disease when he was younger. Being a man, he was less likely to have developed it in his younger years, but I have no idea if he did/didn't, and this is a resurgence in his adult years with the pressures of his recent success being a trigger, anymore than some of the other theories on here like he's a DL brother who contracted HIV, which has turned into AIDS (I mean, seriously?) or that he's a meth head (jfc).

My main point is that the speculation in this thread is unfortunate, and I just hope he gets well. It's really none of my business as to why he's sick.

But, apparently (according to another thread), I need to just STFU about these things.

by Anonymousreply 62June 20, 2020 1:56 PM

I saw the Spike Lee movie. He was barely in it. He was the guy in the flashbacks. Spike probably knows he is sick, and what's wrong with him. I bet he was cast in the movie, to keep things looking like everything is normal. Something is seriously wrong. He could be in organ failure. I hope he recovers. It would be tragic if something bad should happen.

by Anonymousreply 63June 20, 2020 2:00 PM

Nick Cannon looked gaunt like this when he was still with Mariah and battling his lupus. Lupus disproportionately affects black people.

by Anonymousreply 64June 20, 2020 2:04 PM

R46 You're right, anyone- including straight men- can develop anorexia. Type-A overachievers of any demographic are prone to it (comorbid with OCD,) and it's usually brought on by inadequate coping with extreme stress.

I was actually thinking it might orthorexia, though, which is not uncommon with vegetarians. You basically end up starving yourself because you obsess about the purity of your food to the point that you barely eat.

by Anonymousreply 65June 20, 2020 2:07 PM

AIRBORNE SUPER AIDS

by Anonymousreply 66June 20, 2020 2:08 PM

R65, Wow, thanks for sharing that. I've never heard of orthorexia. While I don't think I have it full-blown, I believe I do have intermittent variation on it (albeit infrequent).

by Anonymousreply 67June 20, 2020 2:12 PM

Either cancer or drugs. I’ll go with cancer

by Anonymousreply 68June 20, 2020 2:18 PM

His good looks are gone, if it is by drugs, than he must blame himself and get a grip and get better and move on. If it is an illness, I wish him a speedy recovery.

by Anonymousreply 69June 20, 2020 2:25 PM

Drugs, AIDS or cancer. There arent any other possibilities.

by Anonymousreply 70June 20, 2020 2:31 PM

He's transitioning.

by Anonymousreply 71June 20, 2020 2:55 PM

by Anonymousreply 72June 20, 2020 3:03 PM

No studio would hire him if he had an incruable disease like cancer or AIDS. He would have been tested for insurance purposes as part of his contract.

by Anonymousreply 73June 20, 2020 3:07 PM

R67 When I was vegan I had a vegan friend who was diagnosed with it, he intermittently attempted raw veganism and fruitarianism. I suspected several more of the local organic grocery crowd of having mild cases. I don't think the behavior itself is unhealthy, more the obsessions and compulsions you might develop around healthy eating.

by Anonymousreply 74June 20, 2020 3:09 PM

Just a few pounds more and I can get him on the runways of Paris.

by Anonymousreply 77June 20, 2020 3:34 PM

Could be Coronavirus - maybe he was isolating at home and now needs oxygen

by Anonymousreply 78June 20, 2020 3:41 PM

Whatever it is, it's a shame, because his face will never be the same. He was so pretty in "Black Panther."

by Anonymousreply 79June 20, 2020 3:45 PM

Being a star of a very popular franchise you think he would be surrounded by a team of handlers. I didn’t realize he was already in his 40s.

by Anonymousreply 80June 20, 2020 4:43 PM

His face in that little circle now looks like Jimmie "J. J." Walker's circa 1974.

by Anonymousreply 82June 20, 2020 5:03 PM

R62’s reaction is common amongthe black people i know. They are very secretive about their personal lives especially when it comes to illness. He is a popular movie star we are going to talk about him. I hope he gets better.

This is a real Datalounge tragedy. Once a handsome sexy man turns into Jimmy ‘JJ’ Walker. I also hope he’s able to get his looks back.

by Anonymousreply 83June 20, 2020 5:26 PM

He has the same symptoms as my uncle who had ALS. I’m hoping this isn’t case because there’s nothing that can be done.

by Anonymousreply 84June 20, 2020 6:41 PM

PR for his Netflix film? He does look thin. It may be for a role. But I hope he gets well soon.

Damn. I wish him the best. I know DL likes to shit on the Marvel movies, and some of it is well deserved. But the Black Panther story arc was quite good. I hope he recovers and can continue the role.

by Anonymousreply 95June 20, 2020 10:13 PM

He needs to sue the person who put him on The Karen Carpenter Diet.

by Anonymousreply 96June 20, 2020 10:19 PM

by Anonymousreply 97June 20, 2020 10:55 PM

He's pretty small to start with. Muscles, sure, but he has a small frame.

by Anonymousreply 98June 20, 2020 10:59 PM

Someone infected him with something while he was filming in Thailand.

RIP, Chadwick!

by Anonymousreply 99June 20, 2020 11:02 PM

R97, did you deliberately leave out the only important detail of your story?

by Anonymousreply 100June 20, 2020 11:12 PM

by Anonymousreply 101June 20, 2020 11:13 PM

by Anonymousreply 103June 20, 2020 11:19 PM

by Anonymousreply 104June 20, 2020 11:26 PM

Sickle cell anorexia

by Anonymousreply 105June 20, 2020 11:29 PM

by Anonymousreply 107June 21, 2020 12:42 AM

I really like him. He's talented, and seems like good people. I hope it's not drugs. If they were bringing him to the ER and he was in a wheel chair then I believe he has been battling some illness. God speed, Chadwick!

by Anonymousreply 108June 21, 2020 1:02 AM

He looks very ill on the wheelchair pics, more than just drugs or anorexia. I hope is not true.

by Anonymousreply 109June 21, 2020 1:45 AM

If it were covid he would be in an ambulance

by Anonymousreply 110June 21, 2020 2:10 AM

r108 in a way, I hope it is drugs because he's more likely to recover looking that gaunt if it's meth. He has the support & means to get private help. Considering how he looks, that would likely be a better outcome than any illness that would cause him to look that thin. (He reminded me of Steve Jobs near the end.)

by Anonymousreply 111June 21, 2020 4:18 AM

He definitely looks frail and sick. Wishing him well..

by Anonymousreply 112June 21, 2020 4:58 AM

by Anonymousreply 113June 21, 2020 7:15 AM

by Anonymousreply 114June 21, 2020 8:33 AM

The facial wasting look all too familiar.

Depending on when one was infected, or whatever ever other pre-existing or underlying conditions, one can still pass away from HIV, even when on powerful and effective drugs, which, by the way, can make people very sick too.

Not saying that’s what’s happening here, because I have no clue, but it does look familiar to me.

by Anonymousreply 115June 21, 2020 9:35 AM

Frau alert at r92!!

by Anonymousreply 116June 21, 2020 10:41 AM

[quote] If it were covid he would be in an ambulance

Why would you say that? Maybe his family drove him there so as not to have anybody find out. Obviously that didn’t work, but if they called an ambulance you can guarantee it would’ve leaked out in a hot minute.

by Anonymousreply 117June 21, 2020 10:43 AM

If it was a drug-related issue, wouldn’t you think he’d be at a rehab facility rather than the ED?

by Anonymousreply 118June 21, 2020 10:43 AM

If it was an ongoing illness, surely his physician would have had him admitted to an appropriate dept or ward, not dropped off outside ER? Unless that's the only way in these days, or course.

by Anonymousreply 119June 21, 2020 12:15 PM

I actually really like him. Always comes across well. I hope he is OK. Who know what it is? We really have no idea. I am not judging who posted but personally I didn’t click on it. I guess because I am having personal health issues. This really should be private. I get about gossip and I am the worse too but because of my like for him I wish him a speedy recovery and privacy.

by Anonymousreply 120June 21, 2020 12:19 PM

I wonder if Anthony Mackie is pissed that Chadwick got Black Panther and all he got was Captain America's sidekick.

by Anonymousreply 121June 21, 2020 12:22 PM

by Anonymousreply 123June 21, 2020 3:06 PM

It’s, ahem, exhaustion.

by Anonymousreply 124June 21, 2020 3:19 PM

People forget Chadwick has a naturally a slim build. The 'Black Panther' physique came from months of fitness training and strict dieting.

by Anonymousreply 125June 21, 2020 3:20 PM

Is the Black Panther sequel in jeopardy?

by Anonymousreply 126June 21, 2020 3:57 PM

If it was an ongoing illness, surely his physician would have had him admitted to an appropriate dept or ward, not dropped off outside ER? Unless that's the only way in these days, or course.

R119 The age of private admissions is pretty much over. Now most doctors in hospitals are hospitalists that will triage the admission through the ER with the ER staff. Most non-rural hospitals are run by corporation who have eomployee medical staff that work for the corporation. Hospitals can risk losing Medicare funds if they overadmit, in addition.

There is a saying in medicine: when you hear hooves don't go looking for zebras. For all the reasons previously mentioned, anorexia is a zebra in this case.

by Anonymousreply 135June 21, 2020 6:51 PM

I think disordered eating (not necessarily anorexia or orthorexia) is still a possibility. The way they force these Marvel actors into insane diets, workout regimes, and probably steroid cycles (or at least something very similar to steroids) and automatically get them a Mens Health tie-in cover to promote the movie, can’t be good for body image. Also the yoyo effect between doing that and other movies until they have to get back on the hamster wheel to prepare for the sequel.

My other instinct was Sickle Cell Anemia. It’s sadly a lot more common in the black community and in many cases it looks a lot like this. T-Boz from TLC famously had it back in the day and was often too frail to perform (they cancelled a lot of dates because of it).

Hopefully he's okay. There were photos of him a few months ago using a stick while walking down the street to help him balance. He seems very frail, and this is obviously not a short-term problem.

I’m pretty sure it is not sickle cell, which almost always is identified in early childhood. Sickle cell is a disease that results in misshapen hemoglobin cells, which carry oxygen through the body. People with sickle cell need to avoid sickle cell crisis triggers, and that includes high activity exercise that taxes the body’s need for oxygen. Any medical exam for a film like Black Panther would likely pick this up and would never allow the vigorous and prolonged training needed to produce the physique for that movie. HIV would also likely have been included in insurance tests, and unless he declined antiretroviral treatment for some stupid naturopathy it shouldn’t advance to an AIDS-like wasting appearance. I’m going to say it’s cancer with meth addiction as a less likely option. Sad.

I think he might have cancer,m

by Anonymousreply 178June 22, 2020 5:01 PM

R174 some addictions require a medically supervised detox, which some hospitals offer and some but not many drug treatment programs do. Detox is often required for benzodiazepine addiction because of the significant risk to life of that particular withdrawal. Sever alcoholism too. Others not so much unless the person has polysubstance addiction wither one of the above. I am less up on meth treatment since meth addiction is not as widespread in NYC area where I am as it is in other parts of country.

If this was caused by a disease rather than an addiction or food issues I wonder why Disney is keeping this under wraps?

If it's something like cancer or lupus then they would want to prepare the public about it and would be able to garner empathy and sympathy by putting out a press release. Either way I feel for him and I hope he'll be okay. That's probably it for him playing the role of Black panther, I can't see how he can go through the training required to play the character again unless they just use a lot more cgi in the next movie.

Neither of the the two women in the ER pics are his partner Taylor, they're both hospital staff - the one pushing his chair is an orderly/nurse, the other woman is staff, both are wearing hospital badges. I didn't see his partner in the pics maybe there is another shot.

He's clearly ill. What's odd to me is that he got papped out on in front of the ER public entrance. Most of the LA-area hospitals have private entrances/exits specifically for famous folk, I wonder why he wasn't using this. The local PD/FD even use special dispatch codes to radio ahead when they're transporting a famous person to a hospital or facility, to throw off the tabs/paps who listen to the scanners. I wonder if these pics were taken at one of the big LA facilities, or if he was at a smaller regional satellite clinic/hospital and got caught out - I suspect the latter.

Whoever posted his brother's IG, he is the spitting image of Chadwick. Amazing likeness there.

If he's ill its most likely a metastisizing cancer like liver or pancreatic. Those are both death sentences, most of the time. They quickly spread even with treatment and the patient can be gone in months.

Patrick Swayze comes to mind when I see these pics, he had pancreatic I believe. Google photos of him from just before he died, he had a similar this, weak and wasted appearance.

by Anonymousreply 249June 27, 2020 5:49 AM

If you’re going to suggest he is suffering an illness that a long dead singer had, Minnie Ripperton would be more accurate than Karen Carpenter.

by Anonymousreply 250June 27, 2020 9:00 AM

A more apt comparison might be the Australian actor Andy Whitfield who played Spartacus in the TV series. He went from his hunky persona to having a wasted cancer ridden body within a year and then died. This must be very serious for the Hollywood’s gossip mill to actually step back and withhold the story. I feel something truly tragic is on the horizon.

I don't think they (TMZ, gossip rags, media) withhold information, even for Disney, unless it's something serious and health related and they've received ops that it would be in bad taste.

Even the blogs and gossip sites (here, LSA, etc.) don't have any leads about drugs, eating disorders, or anything like that. If he had been so seriously involved in either that he became this frail, we would have some sort of receipts or stories to back it up.

All signs point to it being something medical, and something chronic or terminal. :(

R267, it has nothing to do with "bad taste." It's about $$$$$. And it's about the symbiotic relationship between the industry and the gossip rags and Tabloid TV. The media and the industry depend on one another, and the relationship is transactional.

by Anonymousreply 272June 27, 2020 4:41 PM

Agree, his character is iconic. That movie had special magic for audiences all over the world. Praying he overcomes whatever he's going through.

Pancreatic cancer is a horrible way to go. The only person I would wish it on would be #45.

by Anonymousreply 274June 27, 2020 5:04 PM

R274 What the hell did I ever do to you?

by Anonymousreply 275June 27, 2020 5:52 PM

r45, not you, but that is what I call our current President. He doesn't deserve a name. notice I didn't put "r" with the number.

by Anonymousreply 276June 27, 2020 5:56 PM

R276 I know, just pulling your chain! I don’t even know what R45 said, didn’t even look, lol.

by Anonymousreply 277June 27, 2020 6:09 PM

Has Susan Dey commented yet?

by Anonymousreply 278June 27, 2020 6:09 PM

I couldn’t think of another black actor can replace him as of now. Chad has the specific look for the look. His handsome and sophisticated looking is perfect for the role.

Whoever wants a white actor to replace him, go f yourself

by Anonymousreply 279June 27, 2020 6:24 PM

What r272 said.

Many years ago, here at the DL, a poster who had worked for the publishers of The Enquirer and Star (right-wing assholes) said that we're all missing, because we can't see it, what's really the hot scoop- that which isn't published because of a deal. In other words, what's actually published was the "safer" stuff.

That why, when all that stuff about the Bezos Dick Pix was in the news, I knew it was all true that those publishers were attempting to blackmail Bezos.

[quote] I couldn’t think of another black actor can replace him as of now.

I can. Michael B. Jordan - Killmonger.

This is totally my fanfic, but bear with me -

When Killmonger died and went to the Ancestral Plane (remember, you can return from there- both Black Panthers did so) his ancestors disallow his presence, he returns to life, is immediately healed from his fatal wounds, redeems himself, goes from Villain to Super Hero and, walla! There's our new Black Panther.

I'm half joking, half serious.

Anyway, I too think something serious may be a foot here with Bozeman.

As for Harvey Levin, he's a close-to Trump Trumper. I refuse to click on his site. It's credibly reported he is always on the phone with Trump dishing to him all the gossip he knows, even the stuff Levin won't publish on his site because it's too hot and interferes with transactions.

by Anonymousreply 280June 27, 2020 6:59 PM

afoot

by Anonymousreply 281June 27, 2020 7:04 PM

Boseman has been recently been spotted without the cane walking his dog.

It may be that he lost weight for a role and went overboard, so he had to be hospitalized. He has a naturally slender build and is vegan (not vegetarian).

by Anonymousreply 282June 27, 2020 7:17 PM

Jaden Smith IS Black Panther!

by Anonymousreply 283June 27, 2020 7:21 PM

R282, how recent? Does this mean he’s out of the hospital?

by Anonymousreply 284June 27, 2020 7:24 PM

Lmao that people still think you can get so frail that you need a stick to hold your body up, just from going vegan. Most actors in L.A are vegan because of the health and beauty benefits (and the general food culture there) and none of them literally look like they are dying because of it.

by Anonymousreply 285June 27, 2020 7:29 PM

I’m getting Liberace watermelon diet vibes here.

by Anonymousreply 286June 27, 2020 7:33 PM

Mariah always wishes to be skinny like that because this fat fuck is fat.

Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff - Mariah Carey

by Anonymousreply 287June 27, 2020 7:54 PM

Wrong R285, a vegan diet can adversely affect your health. Those celebrities are probably working closely with a dietician/ personal trainer or have someone cooking for then. They likely are not under the same amount of stress that Boseman is. There was a case of a vegan who became blind because he wasn't getting enough protein & nutrients.

by Anonymousreply 288June 27, 2020 9:03 PM

So is Chadwick Boseman out of the hospital? Anyone? Bueller?

by Anonymousreply 289June 27, 2020 9:10 PM

R288, eating meat can adversely affect your health. That's why so many Americans are obese and have heart disease

by Anonymousreply 290June 27, 2020 9:13 PM

r288 it's fucking Hollywood. They're not vegan-they're probably vegetarian at best but vegan for the cameras, so to speak. That's why someone who actually tries it can get messed up. I've also heard it as a cover for drug use, particularly the weight loss, because they attribute their whippet frames to lack of animal protein.

by Anonymousreply 291June 27, 2020 9:16 PM

by Anonymousreply 292June 27, 2020 9:26 PM

Obviously he has AIDS. If it's true that he's looking better recently, it's because he finally got diagnosed and put on meds.

by Anonymousreply 293June 27, 2020 9:44 PM

I loved Black Panther but I hate black twitter. When i saw their lame hive mind black asses making the movie all about them, I started to like it (and Boseman) a lot less.

by Anonymousreply 294June 27, 2020 10:01 PM

[quote][R288], eating meat can adversely affect your health. That's why so many Americans are obese and have heart disease

It's not just meat that vegans don't eat.

by Anonymousreply 295June 27, 2020 10:12 PM

R290, that simply isn’t true. Eating the right portion of meat is healthy... What caused the huge increase of diabetes II in The US was the fat-free craze. It still exists btw. People think eating less fat is the key to health. NOPE.

It led to increased carb and sugar intake, which brings us to today. A healthy cm Insteon of carbs, fat, and protein is the healthiest approach.

by Anonymousreply 296June 27, 2020 10:37 PM

r294, black twitter probably hates you, too

by Anonymousreply 297June 27, 2020 10:37 PM

R297, I have no idea what r294 said, but I’m sure it was nice and trolling. I’ve blocked it, I suggest you do the same.

by Anonymousreply 298June 27, 2020 10:39 PM

r296, that's not true. The people who are diabetic are the least likely to eat anything "fat free"

They eat carbs, sugar, AND fat

by Anonymousreply 299June 27, 2020 10:39 PM

R299, but the fat doesn’t really matter. It’s the carbs and sugar that put on weight and lead to diabetes. The keto diet is only fat, and while I don’t recommend it, as it’s impossible to maintain, it leads to fat loss and better blood test numbers. If people only did keto (again I don’t recommend), they’d actually be healthier.

by Anonymousreply 300June 27, 2020 10:42 PM

Ugh, a healthy diet consisting of... @ r296.

by Anonymousreply 301June 27, 2020 10:45 PM

Secret vegan Nazi @ r301.

by Anonymousreply 302June 27, 2020 10:56 PM

r300, it's calories that lead to weight gain, not carbs or sugar.

by Anonymousreply 303June 27, 2020 11:06 PM

Wrong, r303. Geez it’s the 21st century.

by Anonymousreply 304June 27, 2020 11:09 PM

[quote]it's calories that lead to weight gain, not carbs or sugar.

Wrong, Studies have repeatedly shown that people on low-carb diets lose more weight than people on balanced diets, despite eating the same or even higher numbers of total calories.

by Anonymousreply 305June 27, 2020 11:10 PM

r304, you're projecting because you're the wrong one. Limit your calories and you'll lose weight.

by Anonymousreply 306June 27, 2020 11:11 PM

R306, you have no clue. Diets based on calorie reduction do not work in the long run. By by all means, buy an bunch of caftans to cover yourself.

by Anonymousreply 307June 27, 2020 11:21 PM

Girls, girls, ask Joe what her diet is, she’s the only one who stayed trim.

by Anonymousreply 308June 27, 2020 11:27 PM

R307, you are wrong

by Anonymousreply 309June 27, 2020 11:30 PM

[quote]you have no clue. Diets based on calorie reduction do not work in the long run. By by all means, buy an bunch of caftans to cover yourself.

To be fair, calorie-restriction diets do eventually lead to weight loss. It's just that carb-restricted diets work more efficiently and lead to faster and larger weight loss. And remember, all weight-loss strategies have to be correctly followed over time to work, which is why most people fail. Most people are looking for quick results and can't stick to something that is too restrictive or isn't showing results fast enough.

by Anonymousreply 310June 27, 2020 11:45 PM

[quote]Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.

And just WHERE are my goddamn RESIDUALS?

by Anonymousreply 311June 28, 2020 1:54 AM

Hate to be on topic here but is there any info at all about whether he's still in the hospital or not? I'm finding NOTHING on gossip sites, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places?

He was listed as one of the black actors asking Hollywood studios to divest from the police a few days ago, but that's it. That means his PR people are still working and surely would have said something if this ER visit wasn't him. Pretending it wasn't even him would have been the easiest route, because you can barely see him in the wheelchair.

[quote]I loved Black Panther but I hate black twitter. When i saw their lame hive mind black asses making the movie all about them, I started to like it (and Boseman) a lot less.

It was a Marvel movie. Everyone that was a Marvel fan made it all about them on and off of Twitter. Little white children were running around screaming, "WAKANDA FOREVER" after showings. If black people on the internet liking a movie with a predominantly black cast upsets you then you have bigger problems.

Have there been any new developments on this story? More crypt keeper sightings? Publicist statements about exhaustion and dieting? Leaked biopsy results?

by Anonymousreply 316July 13, 2020 6:29 PM

bklko

by Anonymousreply 317July 14, 2020 12:50 AM

R316 No new developments. The Disney / Marvel machine have done a great job burying it.

by Anonymousreply 318July 14, 2020 8:02 AM

“Dyn-o-MITE!”

by Anonymousreply 319July 14, 2020 8:44 AM

The death of Kelly Preston made me think about this. She was ill & undergoing treatment for 2 years yet no one leaked or got any pics. Someone is trying there best to keep Chadwick's illness quiet

by Anonymousreply 320July 14, 2020 2:15 PM

Kelly Preston didn’t look as near-death in photos as this guy does.

by Anonymousreply 321July 14, 2020 2:20 PM

^^

That's my point. She wasn't seen out so we didn't see her in the frail state of someone going thru Stage 4 cancer. No one leaked anything.

by Anonymousreply 322July 14, 2020 2:49 PM

A couple of years ago there were pics of Liam Neeson looking close to death. Obviously he recovered from whatever it was. Did we ever find out?

by Anonymousreply 323July 14, 2020 2:50 PM

He had just lost weight for the movie Silence, R323. Seriously.

by Anonymousreply 324July 14, 2020 3:56 PM

So is this for a role or not? Very concerning.

Wow, that's awful

by Anonymousreply 334August 29, 2020 2:19 AM

Geez - that's just sad. Just as he's made it huge as an actor, he doesn't even get to enjoy it.

by Anonymousreply 335August 29, 2020 2:21 AM

43. Fuck cancer.

by Anonymousreply 336August 29, 2020 2:22 AM

Now we know why

by Anonymousreply 337August 29, 2020 2:22 AM

When something like this happens it’s a wake up call that average life span doesn’t mean shit.

by Anonymousreply 338August 29, 2020 2:23 AM

Once I saw this thread bumped, I knew what it was going to reveal. I was hoping I would be wrong. But...

by Anonymousreply 347August 29, 2020 2:51 AM

Life can be so unfair. Thankfully he was able to enjoy the pleasures of fulfilling some dreams and what that meant to others as well.

by Anonymousreply 348August 29, 2020 3:08 AM

by Anonymousreply 349August 29, 2020 3:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 351August 29, 2020 4:15 AM

by Anonymousreply 354August 29, 2020 4:55 AM

So many people in this thread should feel shame.

This place can be so very disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 355August 29, 2020 6:56 AM

Yeah, the racists really came out to say he was on drugs. Not surprising for Datalounge.

by Anonymousreply 356August 29, 2020 7:16 AM

Same, R339. I was one of the people saying that this story wouldn't have been yanked from the internet so fast unless Boseman was seriously ill, but it had been so long since we'd heard anything that I thought maybe I had over-estimated how bad things were for him. Shocking and sad all around.

by Anonymousreply 357August 29, 2020 9:31 AM

Although there are all the shitty comments about drugs, etc., it's also nice to read the posts about what Boseman achieved in his life.

To think that he played Jackie Robinson, James Brown, Thurgood Marshall AND Black Panther in less than five years is an incredible achievement.

Truly iconic performances and a legacy to be celebrated.

by Anonymousreply 358August 29, 2020 2:32 PM

Yup, I knew right away that he was seriously ill. The vultures would have loved it if it were drugs. It would have been plastered everywhere. The fact that it was so quiet was telling. Poor guy. As someone said upthread, how does this happen, and Dump continues to go on. Must have something to do with selfishness.
