Gone With the Wind Fabulous!

by Anonymousreply 107May 28, 2020 3:56 PM

She seems so young.

by Anonymousreply 1May 26, 2020 2:41 AM

Wow!

Seems she never had a great figure. But she’s still kicking. I hope Queen Elizabeth hangs in for another 10 years.

Dame Olivia de Havilland Perishes in Bike Tumble

by Anonymousreply 3May 26, 2020 2:43 AM

After a certain age, you don’t seem to get any older-looking. If someone told me this lady was 83, I’d believe it.

by Anonymousreply 4May 26, 2020 2:44 AM

She has the legs of a 75 year old.

by Anonymousreply 5May 26, 2020 2:44 AM

Liv's still desperate for comeback, I see.

by Anonymousreply 6May 26, 2020 2:46 AM

Riding a bike or posing for a picture...?

by Anonymousreply 7May 26, 2020 2:48 AM

I, honestly, would not be surprised if she is still around for the Gone With The Wind centennial in 2039. She will merely be 123.

by Anonymousreply 8May 26, 2020 2:49 AM

She must be a DLer, she looks 30 years younger

by Anonymousreply 9May 26, 2020 2:50 AM

"Bike" is short for "bicycle." That's a TRIcycle.

Still an amazing feat at her age, but let's be honest.

by Anonymousreply 10May 26, 2020 2:51 AM

That bike's got three wheels; it's basically a mobility scooter. And it looks like she's got a life alert on underneath that hideous white pantsuit.

by Anonymousreply 11May 26, 2020 2:52 AM

She fears neither the coronavirus nor murder hornets. She did fear killer bees though.

That would a world record, no one has ever kiced that long.

by Anonymousreply 16May 26, 2020 2:57 AM

Sorry for the error filled post, but the point stands.

by Anonymousreply 17May 26, 2020 2:57 AM

Kiced

by Anonymousreply 18May 26, 2020 2:58 AM

That bicycle has no seat.

by Anonymousreply 19May 26, 2020 2:58 AM

I though she was nearly blind. Guess she’s sees good enough not to hit cars or small children.

by Anonymousreply 20May 26, 2020 3:02 AM

It was a photo op but I was not comfortable seeing her on a bike with a skirt and those shoes.

by Anonymousreply 21May 26, 2020 3:03 AM

Jeanne Calment is reported to have lived to 122, but there are doubts about her. Livvie can break the record, I believe in her.

by Anonymousreply 22May 26, 2020 3:05 AM

Bike is stationary, but with her great acting skills, you'd think she was speeding downhill.

by Anonymousreply 23May 26, 2020 3:05 AM

Emma Martina Luigia Morano OMRI (29 November 1899 – 15 April 2017) was an Italian supercentenarian who, before her death at the age of 117 years and 137 days, was the world's oldest living person whose age had been verified, and the last living person to have been verified as being born in the 1800s.

by Anonymousreply 24May 26, 2020 3:06 AM

The longest human lifespan which is undisputed is that of Sarah Knauss of the United States (1880–1999), who lived to age 119 years, 97 days.

by Anonymousreply 25May 26, 2020 3:07 AM

Jeanne Calment still holds the record. The crackpot Russian theories were disproven.

by Anonymousreply 30May 26, 2020 3:38 AM

The photos are all old. She hasn’t been photographed since she turned 90.

by Anonymousreply 31May 26, 2020 3:40 AM

R29 meant to post in best places to live in California.

by Anonymousreply 32May 26, 2020 3:41 AM

by Anonymousreply 40May 26, 2020 5:25 AM

Really amazing that someone who was an A-List Movie Star back in the 30s and 40s etc, and apart of one of the most famous iconic films in Movie history "Gone with the wind. Is still alive in 2020 and riding a bike no less.

Mind blowing!

Someone who was apart of Hollywood's golden age of film and worked in Movies during the same time as people like Joan Crawford Bette Davis Kathrine Hepburn Barbra Stanwyck and Greta Garbo. Is still alive in today's world where we have someone like Trump as president, Fucking crazy.

Just think of all of the people who were president when she was a young Star in her heyday in old Hollywood. I'm fascinated by her photo at the op for all the reasons I just listed.

I just cool that someone like Olivia de havilland is still with us in the age of Trump the Kardashians Instagram smart phones and only fans etc.

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

by Anonymousreply 41May 26, 2020 5:28 AM

by Anonymousreply 44May 26, 2020 5:33 AM

I wonder if she still lives off of her Movie $$$ she earned during her film career? I'm always curious about the finances of older Stars from the golden age of Hollywood, who happen to live long lives and haven't made a Movie in decades.

Elizabeth Taylor was different because she had so much going on, suck as a perfume business valuable art work and lots of expensive jewelry at her disposal. So she was cash and asset rich. But what about other Stars who didn't have all of that going for them?

Maybe she was well paid during her career and is well invested.

by Anonymousreply 45May 26, 2020 5:39 AM

R45 human trafficking.

by Anonymousreply 46May 26, 2020 5:41 AM

Are we sure this is a recent picture?

And no, r41, you’re definitely not, I thought about my Grandmother that way all the time, and she lived to be a mere 95. Was a child when WWI started, lived through 9/11 and a few years after, etc.

by Anonymousreply 47May 26, 2020 6:19 AM

No offense to Livvie but 2 Oscars were wasted on her.

by Anonymousreply 48May 26, 2020 6:50 AM

R47 Happy Birthday to your Gran!

by Anonymousreply 49May 26, 2020 6:51 AM

R49 ahaha not today/today today but as in “if she were still alive she’d be 109.” Going on 110 in October.

Oh well can’t win em all.

by Anonymousreply 50May 26, 2020 7:05 AM

I doubt that is a recent photo, but a few years old and she probably just sat on it.

by Anonymousreply 51May 26, 2020 7:05 AM

She's more than five times my age! Imagine that!

by Anonymousreply 52May 26, 2020 7:07 AM

I'm sure a chalk likeness of Joan Fontaine is on the pavement of her driveway.

by Anonymousreply 53May 26, 2020 11:50 AM

by Anonymousreply 54May 26, 2020 12:29 PM

by Anonymousreply 57May 26, 2020 2:03 PM

God bless her

by Anonymousreply 58May 26, 2020 2:06 PM

Women half her age have died trying to put on a pair of pantyhose. Show some respect!

by Anonymousreply 59May 26, 2020 2:08 PM

The first thought that came to me when looking at that pic was wondering if the bike then took off the ground because I couldn't help but think of ET.

(Although I suspect that Olivia is slightly less wrinkled.)

by Anonymousreply 60May 26, 2020 2:09 PM

[quote] I couldn't help but think of ET

She is otherworldly.

I think she’s a miserable litigious cunt.

by Anonymousreply 64May 26, 2020 3:08 PM

That photo was clearly taken in Los Angeles. I believe Olivia's last visit there was in 2003, when she appeared at the Oscars. If so, she is a spry 86 in this photo.

by Anonymousreply 65May 26, 2020 3:23 PM

Recently watched The Heiress - she's brilliant in it. Though not a great beauty she's very pretty. The movie attempts to make us think otherwise with her awful hairline and bangs.

by Anonymousreply 67May 26, 2020 3:37 PM

Lovely picture

by Anonymousreply 68May 26, 2020 3:39 PM

Close you legs to married men!

by Anonymousreply 69May 26, 2020 3:40 PM

n.b.: “a part” and “apart” do not mean the same thing. In some contexts, they have opposite meanings.

by Anonymousreply 70May 26, 2020 3:48 PM

The oldest example of that image I can find is July, 2019, but its origin seems to be Jim Neibaur's Twitter, and he is not always the most accurate about these things.

In fact, the Reddit thread based on Jim's tweet said someone discovered the photo was already 10 years old, taken when she was 93.

by Anonymousreply 71May 26, 2020 3:57 PM

A photo of her in the exact same outfit was used for her 100th birthday in the Orlando Sentinel so maybe that's where the confusion comes from. The TCM version of this photo captions it as being LA, and she hasn't been there for a long time, as others already said.

You should.

by Anonymousreply 77May 26, 2020 5:30 PM

Pity Livvie wasn't of the age when actresses freely showed their tits and wild bushes in the 70s and 80s.

by Anonymousreply 78May 26, 2020 5:32 PM

She is such a product of the old hollywood system where they would teach the women to speak in that fake vaguely british accent

by Anonymousreply 79May 26, 2020 5:36 PM

R88, both her parents were English. Her father’s last name was de Havilland (a relative founded the eponymous aircraft company), and her mother’s maiden name was Fontaine, source of her sister Joan’s stage name.

DeHavilland is obviously a DL staple, but that well-worn meme aside... This woman is a treasure, she is now the last living leading actress who knew and worked with the greatest stars of the Golden Age. The memories that woman must have, that she alone has, she should be interviewed 8 hours a day until she finally keels over.
