Will DL Fave Miles finally come out now?
13 Reasons Why: The Final Season
|by Anonymous||reply 385||06/09/2020|
Good lord. This whole series should have been a 90 minute movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/20/2020|
Yay! This delightful clusterfuck of a show is back.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/20/2020|
I know what you did last semester!
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/22/2020|
Miles needs to score the triple before he comes out.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/22/2020|
Who knew How To Get Away With Murder was doing a highschool spin off.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/22/2020|
Hanna is spinning in her grave!
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/22/2020|
I'm excited about Deaken Bluman, he's hot!
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/22/2020|
What about Barbera?
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/22/2020|
I bet Dylan Minnette has a tight pink hole
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/22/2020|
R9 Because he's straight...
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/22/2020|
Thank goodness this is the final season, the cast has reached that inevitable point where it is laughable they are supposed to be highschoolers.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/22/2020|
R11 That never stopped the other shows.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/22/2020|
I live on Mare Island in Vallejo CA where this was filmed, and while it was fun having them all here, it became almost as tiresome as the show. But the sale of everything from the sound stages was amazing.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/22/2020|
R13 Did you encounter any of the cast?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/22/2020|
Will that gay boy from last season avenge the death of his rapist lover?
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/22/2020|
[Quote] But the sale of everything from the sound stages was amazing.
Does this mean the show is over for good?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/22/2020|
R16 - what do you not get about "final" season?
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/22/2020|
They could have a spin off (Archie Bunker's place etc.)
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/22/2020|
R18 Netflix might as well start a new show with some of the popular actors from this show. I don't think they can milk the 13RW any further without making a mockery of it all.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||05/22/2020|
Bit late for that.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/22/2020|
[quote] Will that gay boy from last season avenge the death of his rapist lover?
Yes. The same guy who beat the shit out of him. This show is majorly fucked up and its gay storylines are borderline homophobic.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/22/2020|
The actor who plays Tony always seems like he's going to catch Gay from having to kiss guys.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/22/2020|
R21 What do you expect? The real world is still more than borderline homophobic.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/22/2020|
R23 This show has a MASSIVE teenage fan base. It’s really reprehensible for them to do a whole storyline about a gay guy obsessed with avenging the death of a closeted guy who not only beat the shit out of him, but also violently raped another male student.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||05/22/2020|
R24 But that reflects the situation of being gay in a homophobic world. Gays end up hankering for the "straight-acting" jocks who abuse gays because of their own internalized hate. The whole 13RW theme is about how the fucked up state of society affects/kills teenagers not sweet highschool romance.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/22/2020|
[Quote] Gays end up hankering for the "straight-acting" jocks who abuse gays because of their own internalized hate.
Don't I know it.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||05/22/2020|
R13 what did you buy?
|by Anonymous||reply 27||05/22/2020|
R24 don't forget the kinda borderline forced blowjob. Because when straight kids to it it's rape. But gay teens are just naturally kinky like that.
You just know they'll try to "redeem" Monty like they did Bryce.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||05/22/2020|
R13 Any cast stories?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/22/2020|
Will Christian Navarro finally come out?
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/22/2020|
R30 Typical. There is no shortage of gay actors on this show but of course DL only cares about fantasizing that one of the straight ones is gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/22/2020|
R31 The more the merrier!
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/22/2020|
R28 Monty was a lost cause in many ways because he himself has lost hope for himself. But at least Winston gave him some hot consensual gay sex before he went!
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/22/2020|
They did have a hot gay sex scenes. Of course, the relationship would never get off the ground with Monty as damaged as he was.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/22/2020|
Will the annoying all-knowing Ani be back?
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/23/2020|
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Overwrought high-school angst portrayed by actors in their mid 20s. Call me when the hot guys are fucking.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/23/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/23/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/23/2020|
There should have been a Locke & Key and 13 Reasons Why crossover...
|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/23/2020|
r28 I'm not sure you can redeem someone after you've shown them raping someone with a mop for two entire minutes... What am I saying it's 13RW. We'll probably get the entire season with his ghost wandering around talking about the horrific abuse he got as a child.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/23/2020|
Some of you are upset that a show doesn't have some Disney movie two dimensional villains? Newsflash, even people who do horrible acts have their good qualities. People, and life in general, aren't black and white.
On a list of things to complain about with this dumb little show, that is not one.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/23/2020|
I forget—who killed whatshisname?
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/23/2020|
[quote] show doesn't have some Disney movie two dimensional villains
You think the villains in 13RW are nuanced? My biggest problem with with this show is it sets up people as absolutely evil and immoral then shoves some half assed rehabilitation in to "save" them at the end. Bryce spends 2 whole seasons as the spawn of Satan with an actual rape shack, then once he's good as dead they try to make him seem less bad. If they didn't want to make 2 dimensional villains they should probably have tried to give them an actual personality beyond "gee I sure do love rape" before deciding to kill them off.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/23/2020|
Alex r42, Miles Heizers' character.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/23/2020|
The only one I can truly see having career longevity after this is Brandon Flynn - he’s the most natural on screen.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/23/2020|
Hopefully he won't be swallowed into the Ryan Murphy universe.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/23/2020|
I've only seen Brandon Flynn's work in this show, but I agree he is easily the best actor out of the young cast.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/23/2020|
Dylan Minnette works a lot.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/23/2020|
I think the kid who plays Tyler - Devin Druid - is the strongest in the cast, but he also has the most dramatically challenging storyline. He’s also the youngest of all the actors so it’s doubly impressive. He seems to be booking a lot of indie films so I hope he blows up.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/23/2020|
R49 Devin is too odd-looking to get lead roles, though. Dylan is more like the average white guy protagonist HW likes, which is why he's the lead in 13RW.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/23/2020|
R37 R38 LOL Those do look like stills from a gay teen romance or slasher movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/23/2020|
[quote] The only one I can truly see having career longevity after this is Brandon Flynn - he’s the most natural on screen.
Of all the actors on the show, he works the least. Katherine Langford, Alisha Boe, Christian Navarro, and even Miles have booked movies during the show breaks.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/23/2020|
[Quote] Devin is too odd-looking to get lead roles, though
There are always exceptions.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/23/2020|
And why did Alex kill Bryce?
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/23/2020|
Watch for yourself r54.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/23/2020|
LOL if I were Miles Heizer I would have done everything in my power to get out of my contract after that scene. How stupid.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/23/2020|
Miles Heizer is not a good actor and should thank his lucky stars he got this job.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||05/23/2020|
[quote]Netflix might as well start a new show with some of the popular actors from this show. I don't think they can milk the 13RW any further without making a mockery of it all.
Rumor has it that Netflix is already planning a crossover with the cast.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||05/23/2020|
R57 Maybe Connor will cast him in one of his projects one day since he's a director. Miles doesn't seem that into acting though, it seems like he does it because it's all he's ever done.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||05/23/2020|
[Quote] Rumor has it that Netflix is already planning a crossover with the cast.
A 13RW/Love Boat crossover?
|by Anonymous||reply 60||05/23/2020|
Does anyone know when the 5th season of “Degrassi, the next class” will be out on Netflix?
|by Anonymous||reply 61||05/23/2020|
A quarter past never. They passed on making more.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||05/23/2020|
Katherine Langton was the best of this cast. I stopped watching midway in season 3. Ani just didn't make sense to me and didn't feel organic to the story line. Season 3 moved so slow, I stopped before the payoff, which sounds pretty good. Was Bryce blackmailing Monty about the gay secret and then Monty killed him allegedly?
|by Anonymous||reply 63||05/23/2020|
Monty didn’t kill him. The actual murderers framed him because they knew he was a violent rapist.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||05/23/2020|
They framed him because he was dead 64. "Let the dead bury the dead" was the exact quote.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||05/23/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 66||05/23/2020|
I see. Alex killed Bryce because Bryce hurt everyone he loves. Very compelling.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||05/23/2020|
Tommy posted. Is he in the final season?
|by Anonymous||reply 68||05/23/2020|
I know Tommy and his husband have an open marriage, but are he and Brandon a thing?
|by Anonymous||reply 69||05/23/2020|
r50 Devin could play Elliott Smith in a very depressing biopic.
I agree with whoever said Miles cant act.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||05/23/2020|
R68 Yes, Tommy was spotted filming a cameo in the final season.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||05/23/2020|
I imagine they will have everyone make some cameo appearance since it is the final season.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||05/23/2020|
Likely including Hannah's ghost.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||05/23/2020|
I actually think Miles is a pretty great actor, but he certainly has a very specific energy as a person that does carry into all of his work. He doesn’t have terrific range in what he can play, but what he does is generally done well (but much more grounded than most).
I also think he’s done a disservice by being put into all these straight roles. He’s one of those who pings from space, so every time his supposed straightness is referenced it’s very jarring (which makes him look bad in turn). They really need to just bite the bullet and let his character be lgbtq. He’d have been a much better choice for a gay storyline than Monty was.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||05/23/2020|
[Quote] he certainly has a very specific energy as a person that does carry into all of his work.
RuPaul said much the same thing on his podcast. He told Miles to look at Anthony Perkins' ouevre.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||05/23/2020|
I thought, despite the small part, he had a lot of screen presence in Love, Simon. Although we're supposed to wonder if his character is gay (and he was bi in the book), so it works.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||05/23/2020|
Miles was also good on Parenthood, he is performance was always very soulful and he’s a very natural crier (he cried a lot). I remember thinking he was a very dreamy teen.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||05/23/2020|
Russell Tovey loves to cry a lot as well. Maybe it's a gay boy thing.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||05/23/2020|
R76 I actually think Love, Simon is a great example, because he’s not in it much but does have a ton of presence (and a bunch of people wanted him as Blue for good reason). I think a lot of why he’s so effective in that part is that we’re led to believe he may be gay and Miles knew the character was bi (and played him like he was even if they cut anything that would have made that clear).
|by Anonymous||reply 79||05/23/2020|
R77 Yeah, his storyline with the deadbeat dad was one of the most effective parts of the Parenthood pilot, and he carried his character's heartbreak around the abortion storyline really well. He otherwise always felt like one of the more real characters on that show to me, just because he's got this anxious but low-key energy I feel like I see all the time in the real world but not a lot on tv
|by Anonymous||reply 80||05/23/2020|
Uh oh, I riled all the Miles fangurls.
Sorry, I've been watching him act for three seasons of this show and I don't think he is good at it. Having "presence" for a minute cameo is not a doing dramatic character arc like he has been called upon to do in this show.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||05/23/2020|
R67 for what it’s worth, he also killed Bryce because Bryce was a total dumbass douchebag who manipulated Alex into helping him up so he wouldn’t freeze to death, only to immediately start threatening both Jess and Zach.
Alex also has a TBI, a history of uncontrollable outbursts of rage because of that TBI, and was using steroids at the time (which I think make both those things worse). And Bryce knew all of that. It’s kind of hilarious really.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||05/23/2020|
His character on this show sucks, it’s not his fault the writing is absolute garbage. Even an Oscar caliber worthy actor couldn’t save it.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||05/23/2020|
R81 I agree. Miles is wooden as fuck. But maybe if he’s given a two-line part, or plays a dead body, he could be good at that.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||05/23/2020|
R31, it’s pretty obvious that Christian Navarro is not straight when you look at his IG and see who he follows. For example, he follows all the guys from Queer Eye, and in one of his stories, you could see that he had Antoni’s cook book.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||05/23/2020|
R85 I’m not sure if you’re being facetious but following the guys from the mainstream, straight-pandering show Queer Eye does not make you gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||05/23/2020|
Wow, Brandon looks good in OP.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||05/24/2020|
I admit only watching the first few episodes but did anyone else think the girl who killed herself was an exhausting, self-indulgent bitch, revelling in making her death such a mysterious drama and getting a dig in at everyone she could?
|by Anonymous||reply 88||05/24/2020|
No that's pretty common. Granted just about everyone in that school is pretty unlikable in season 1. But it takes extra effort to make me feel no sympathy for a teenage girl who killed herself.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||05/24/2020|
R88 Exhausting, self-indulgent bitch... so she's just a DL'er in a teenage girl body.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||05/24/2020|
Miles said on the podcast that he introduced four of his castmates to Drag Race obsession. He name checked Christian. The other two weren't named, but I'd bet money that they were Brandon and Alisha.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||05/24/2020|
Is there still any mystery on why she died or is there another mystery? Fucking tedious
|by Anonymous||reply 92||05/24/2020|
Funny thing is that this show was meant to be a tribute to My so-called life, a show with actual teenagers as leads.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||05/24/2020|
If Miles' character finds his gayness this season it would be the best way to transition to playing only gay roles afterwards.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||05/24/2020|
I’d love to see Brandon and Miles on Secret Celebrity Drag Race. They’d be so pretty as girls.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||05/24/2020|
That would require Miles to actually come out, which he hasn't had the balls to do, despite not exactly hiding either of his big relationships.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||05/24/2020|
Nobody thinks Miles is str8 anymore.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||05/24/2020|
Didn't the fangirls decide he was with that chick he lives with.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||05/24/2020|
The Miles hate on DL is so fucking stupid. It’s 2020, should he have to declare who he’s fucking in capital letters in an Instagram post in order for him to not be closeted in your eyes? He openly talks about loving gay bars and drag and he has a boyfriend who has talked openly about their relationship in the New York Times. If he didn’t want anyone to know he was gay he would have dumped Connor by now.
|by Anonymous||reply 99||05/24/2020|
R98 Yes, but the conspiracy theorists in the Heizer/Jessup threads also think she’s secretly trying to fuck him so it’s not just the stupid fan girls.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||05/24/2020|
It's not Miles hate. I think he and Connor are adorable together. But there's some reason he can't bring himself to say the words, and that bugs me in 2020.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||05/24/2020|
r99 Miles isn't gay unless he's an Instaho whose personal life is lived out on social media platforms.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||05/24/2020|
[Quote] there's some reason he can't bring himself to say the words, and that bugs me in 2020.
But he consented to Connor using him to promote Locke & Key. What's the issue? You'd like a magazine cover with "Yep, I'm Gay" on it?
|by Anonymous||reply 103||05/24/2020|
r100 Nobody thinks Mae wants to fuck him. The problem they have is that she's the kind of female bff who wants to keep him as the gay little brother she can have slumber parties with forever. Miles is a 26 year old man now and he's in a relationship with another man. She needs to back off and let him grow up.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||05/24/2020|
[Quote] she's the kind of female bff who wants to keep him as the gay little brother she can have slumber parties with forever.
Is she, though? Or does her sex blind you to how she actually behaves? Mae promoted Locke & Key on her social media with a pic of herself and Connor. That's the actions of a possessive bff? There are other photos out there that show Mae and her boyfriend double dating with Miles and Connor.
|by Anonymous||reply 105||05/24/2020|
r103 That wouldn't be enough. He'd have to be get fisted in the cover photo, just to prove he's not lying.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||05/24/2020|
r195 That's what I mean. What happens when they get married. Is she going to move in with them and set up a schedule for the days she gets custody?
|by Anonymous||reply 107||05/24/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 108||05/24/2020|
R107 No, she plans on living down the street.
[quote] He’s pretty special. I’d kill him before I let him leave. I envision wanting to live in a house next to him for my whole life and grow old down the street from him. I want our families to always be entwined.
|by Anonymous||reply 109||05/24/2020|
Does she have Borderline Personality Disorder?
|by Anonymous||reply 110||05/24/2020|
R109 Well Connor is out of luck then since Mae will definitely never let Miles move to Toronto.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||05/24/2020|
Why would Miles move away from LA? He's an actor.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||05/24/2020|
And Connor will never leave Toronto, so I guess they're doomed.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||05/24/2020|
Isn't there a Miles thread where you can fangurl out? This has completely veered away from having to do with the show.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||05/24/2020|
R114 The OP implied that now that the show is over, Miles can “come out.” People are merely arguing that Miles is already out, which isn’t off topic.
But yes, this show is stupid and its upcoming storyline about a gay boy avenging the death of a closeted jock rapist just because they fucked once is not only homophobic but reprehensible.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||05/24/2020|
Back on topic. I quit maybe four episodes in S3. I think I'd gotten as far as Monty hooking up with Winston. If I decide that I want to try and power through this final season, is it so vital to finish when I already know about Alex killing Bryce and Monty being beaten to death?
|by Anonymous||reply 116||05/24/2020|
r105 Tell me that anyone who says what she's quoted as saying at r109 isn't completely creepy.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||05/24/2020|
r116 You missed Miles' nude scene in ep 5!
|by Anonymous||reply 118||05/24/2020|
Did they manage to make him look bulked up from the steroids he supposedly took?
|by Anonymous||reply 119||05/24/2020|
It's only creepy because you want it to be. Miles spent about a month in Toronto before returning for the quarantine. But, of course, in your head, Mae was harassing him to come back to LA.
|by Anonymous||reply 120||05/24/2020|
r119 More bulked up than he normally looks. Miles was definitely spending a lot of time in the gym.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||05/24/2020|
That might be worth it.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||05/24/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 123||05/24/2020|
If only that was Zach under him, not Jessica.
|by Anonymous||reply 124||05/24/2020|
R123 isn’t working.
|by Anonymous||reply 125||05/24/2020|
Miles sex scene 1
|by Anonymous||reply 126||05/24/2020|
Miles sex scene 2
|by Anonymous||reply 127||05/24/2020|
I hope Miles gets cast as Casanova in a long running series, just to piss y'all off.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||05/24/2020|
So why did the chick kill herself? No offence but from her bitchy, accusatory voice overs I really gave up interest after 4 episodes.
If I was one of the people who received those bitchy tapes I would have just tossed them in the trash.
|by Anonymous||reply 129||05/24/2020|
After seeing her former friend be sexually assaulted, she was raped by the same guy. She then went to her guidance counselor and gets brushed off.
The suicide scene was shocking, to the point that they've edited parts of it out.
Yet I doubt they did anything to the mop handle scene, which remains one of the most horrifying things I've seen on any show.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||05/24/2020|
R139 how did she die snd what happened with the mop handle please?
|by Anonymous||reply 131||05/24/2020|
R131 She bled out in a bathtub. They scene was incredibly graphic and was now edited out of the show.
In season 2 a male student gets violently raped with a mop handle.
|by Anonymous||reply 132||05/24/2020|
She slit her wrists in a bathtub and her parents found her. It was some really good acting from Kate Walsh and Brian d'Arcy James.
And one of the jocks raped a male student with a mom handle. I still have the most visceral reaction even to the memory. It was graphic.
|by Anonymous||reply 133||05/24/2020|
Miles bugs me. I remember the suicide scene, she slits her wrists in a tub of blood, it looked very realistic.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||05/24/2020|
[quote]Yet I doubt they did anything to the mop handle scene, which remains one of the most horrifying things I've seen on any show.
They did that to Linda Blair in the movie “Born Innocent” but it was depicted much worse in “13 Reasons Why”.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||05/24/2020|
R134 Most of DL seem to dislike Miles, I don't know why he keeps getting called a DL fave. Connor on the other hand has always been liked here.
|by Anonymous||reply 136||05/24/2020|
Miles is NOT a DL fave, but I would argue Connor is probably one of the few DL faves who is almost universally liked by DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 137||05/24/2020|
This show’s first season was very moving and realistic in the ways that alienation and bullying could lead a teenage girl to want to kill herself. The rest of the seasons were a garbage fire.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||05/24/2020|
[quote]But yes, this show is stupid and its upcoming storyline about a gay boy avenging the death of a closeted jock rapist just because they fucked once is not only homophobic but reprehensible
Is that what happened in season 3? Fuck now I have to watch it.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||05/24/2020|
Because it was a self-contained story meant for one season, and that they had to stretch out to milk more money r138.
You see it happen over and over because people just can't end a story and walk away.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||05/24/2020|
I couldn’t even finish the first season because Miles attempting to play a womanizer was just ridiculous
|by Anonymous||reply 141||05/24/2020|
As I understand it season 1 and half of season 2 depicted the entire book this show was based on all the rest is filler.
|by Anonymous||reply 142||05/24/2020|
[quote]Is that what happened in season 3? Fuck now I have to watch it.
I didn’t think the relationship between Monty and the guy was romantic, because he looked like he was having rough sex with him.

Is anyone watching Blood and Water?
|by Anonymous||reply 144||05/24/2020|
So will there be a premiere? Via Zoom or something

[quote] "We've heard from many young people that 13 Reasons Why encouraged them to start conversations about difficult issues like depression and suicide and get help — often for the first time," Netflix said in a statement Tuesday. "As we prepare to launch season three later this summer, we've been mindful about the ongoing debate around the show. So on the advice of medical experts, including Dr. Christine Moutier, chief medical officer at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we've decided with creator Brian Yorkey and the producers to edit the scene in which Hannah takes her own life from season one."
r130 The thing is it sounds like they edited the actual suicide scene to stop other teenagers from doing it. Which is ridiculous when the goriness would do the opposite. But they didn't change any of the rest of the season which pretty much promotes the message that if you kill yourself your entire schools lives will revolve around you, also leave some tapes describing how everyone failed you for that whole revenge from beyond the grave factor.

It did not.

I’m sure Monty and Winston fucked more than once, and S4 will be full of flashbacks between them in another misguided attempt to redeem a villain.

R132 I binged all 3 seasons over the weekend to refresh my memory before season 4 drops. They didn't edit anything out of that scene, including showing the bloody end of the mop handle.
Even though season 3 was the most recent, it was the one I remembered least about. It was so laughably bad. The police investigation was so half-assed (a text message & fingerprint on a car door = murderer) and the amount of people they questioned without a parent or attorney present.
Then there is the school. With the amount of shit that went down in such a short period of time, more people beyond a guidance counselor would have lost their jobs, starting with the principal and coach.
I haven't watched the trailer for S4 yet, but if what someone said above is true (Winston's revenge), it sounds painful already.
Also, can we talk about Alex's dad's shoe polish hair dye? Made all the worse by the scraggly gray sideburns sticking out.
|by Anonymous||reply 151||05/25/2020|
Season 3 of this show will go down in history as one of the most terrible seasons of a TV show ever. It went so completely off the rails that it’s hard to believe it’s still the same show as the first two seasons.
|by Anonymous||reply 152||05/25/2020|
Clay Jensen jumped aboard the frau train.
|by Anonymous||reply 153||05/27/2020|
He looks terrible with that hair color, but I do like the cut.
|by Anonymous||reply 154||05/27/2020|
That hair color rarely looks good on anyone. It washes your skin tone out.
|by Anonymous||reply 155||05/27/2020|
The blue looked way better on him but that cut is cute
|by Anonymous||reply 156||05/27/2020|
Who's watching on Friday?
|by Anonymous||reply 157||06/02/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 158||06/03/2020|
I will be. But only to stare at Miles and hope he gets with a guy this season.
|by Anonymous||reply 159||06/03/2020|
I would like to see a new college series spun off with characters from 13 Reasons Why and Elite attending the same university, perhaps a fictional Ivy?
|by Anonymous||reply 160||06/03/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 161||06/03/2020|
[quote] many details about the role. All fans know to date is that Torres plays a charismatic football star who sometimes lets his emotions get the best of him. All Castellanos can say is he also falls for “Liberty High’s leading lady.”
You'd think in this school an angry football player being into a girl would result in court ordered sterilization and mandatory therapy.
|by Anonymous||reply 162||06/03/2020|
Damn, wish Miles would come out.
|by Anonymous||reply 163||06/04/2020|
Brandon Flynn is about to be CANCELLED!
[quote] i saw the gay twink w brown hair from 13 reasons why. his ass was WAYY WAYY too close like at the god damn fucking front. taking up wayy too much space. he was watching ig stories and texting as Helen Jones, mother of John Horton (who was killed by police), was speaking. him and his fucking friends kept moving in and out of the crowd too. they kept talking while ppl spoke and wouldn’t stay in the god damn same space. THEN!!! they LEFT before the actual protest fucking started! as soon as folks started leading and we were ready to march, they left they TOOK SPACE from Black organizers and families and sat on their fucking phones?? while doing none of the work? definitely there for a photo op too. the twink i’m talking abt is brandon flynn. i didn’t know his name.
|by Anonymous||reply 164||06/04/2020|
R164…many celebrities are desperate for media attention these days since the pandemic.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||06/04/2020|
Is he using the protests to promote the new season? Lame.
|by Anonymous||reply 166||06/04/2020|
Most probably, r166. That is very lame.
|by Anonymous||reply 167||06/04/2020|
She seems to really hate celebs getting to the front row of these things.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||06/04/2020|
None of the 13RW actors seem to care about the show anymore, I don't think Brandon even wants to promote it.
|by Anonymous||reply 169||06/04/2020|
R164 HW twink privilege... They showed up to promote the cause on their social media, and their social obligation is done. You expect them to march too?! LOL

|by Anonymous||reply 174||06/05/2020|
I love this show even though it’s not my usual jam but the first ep of S4 is a mess. Everyone looks 35 and there’s no meat. Rethug Gary Sinise showing up doesn’t make it better. Yeah, so Miles finally comes out (surprise!)... not having Hannah be essential from the go since it is the last year was a huge misstep.

|by Anonymous||reply 180||06/05/2020|
Would one consider Ani as part of the Magical Negro trope?
|by Anonymous||reply 181||06/05/2020|
I thought Tony was a year older and Tyler a year younger than everyone else.
|by Anonymous||reply 182||06/05/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 183||06/05/2020|
This is becoming very Pretty Little Liars.
|by Anonymous||reply 184||06/05/2020|
It’s becoming very OVAH... ep2 not much better. Too bad.
|by Anonymous||reply 185||06/05/2020|

Is Clay having some kind of psychotic break?
|by Anonymous||reply 193||06/05/2020|
I want to spend a weekend in bed with Brandon Flynn just fucking and spooning.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||06/05/2020|
Since the cast looks like they're all WELL into their 20s, the least they could have done is progressed the timeline a couple years and landed them in college.
|by Anonymous||reply 195||06/05/2020|
I'm glad they gave up the ghost of Alex's heterosexuality.
Even just seeing him kiss Zach was one of the most open moments Miles has had on this show.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||06/05/2020|
Wait, how many guys has Miles kissed so far this season??
|by Anonymous||reply 197||06/05/2020|
Miles is actually looking younger than he has ever been on this show and up against the rest of the cast too.
|by Anonymous||reply 198||06/05/2020|
I find Ani so annoying. Neither she nor Hannah had any chemistry with Clay.
He was great with Sheri, who basically disappeared after only being around sporadically being in the second season.
|by Anonymous||reply 199||06/05/2020|
I just saw the spoiler for who dies, and how. And fucking hell. They're really going out on that storyline?
|by Anonymous||reply 200||06/05/2020|
R200 The writing has always been caca so this shouldn't be surprising.
|by Anonymous||reply 201||06/05/2020|
R200 Those scenes were really uncomfortable and triggering to watch (MARY! I know), especially when knowing the actor is gay. Such an unnecessarily awful way to kill a character who's probably had it the worst out of the lot. Bad and lazy writing.
|by Anonymous||reply 202||06/05/2020|
This is so off the rails, but in a different way from how Riverdale is off the rails.
|by Anonymous||reply 203||06/05/2020|
Have this on and I am kinda bored by it. Clay freaking out as he fantasizes about Monty and Bryce is just not that compelling.
|by Anonymous||reply 204||06/05/2020|
Alex can do so much better than Winston.
|by Anonymous||reply 205||06/05/2020|
R204 I've had it on in the background while working. I don't really enjoy any of the acting except for Tyler (Devin Druid) who's probably the most natural actor on the show, and he doesn't look 27 like the rest do. Anyway, the only interesting part was Alex realizing he's gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 206||06/05/2020|
R206, this season has been Miles' best performance by a longshot. I wish they'd gone down this road sooner with him.
|by Anonymous||reply 207||06/05/2020|
Tony’s at the police station and just happens to hear the planning of a takedown for Tyler in a few days.
|by Anonymous||reply 208||06/05/2020|
This school better burn to the ground before the end.
|by Anonymous||reply 209||06/05/2020|
It’s just an epic train wreck for each character.
|by Anonymous||reply 210||06/05/2020|
This show should have been burned to the ground after season 1. Textbook example of something that got stretched out past its shelf life, the writers are just spinning.
|by Anonymous||reply 211||06/05/2020|
This is a more watchable trainwreck than the third season was.
|by Anonymous||reply 212||06/05/2020|
How cute, even though their relationship seemed very rushed. Did they even speak once in season 3?
I like that Tyler is close friends with Miles and Connor in real life, Miles doesn't seem close to anyone else from the show nowadays.
|by Anonymous||reply 213||06/05/2020|
Huh? The gay quarterback comes out to his father, who I think is played by Andrew McCarthy, and he say “Yeah” and that he had ideas because in Middle School Eli Manning was his favorite football player? They argue over it and then say he had a shirtless picture as his phone wallpaper? Shouldn’t it have been Tim Tebow? Why Eli Manning?
|by Anonymous||reply 214||06/05/2020|
A gay wish fulfillment prom, who saw that coming?
|by Anonymous||reply 215||06/05/2020|
Dylan Minette has a surprisingly tight body.
|by Anonymous||reply 216||06/05/2020|
When you're miscast so bad that the writers are forced to make your character gay because you can't play a convincing straight man to save your life.
|by Anonymous||reply 217||06/05/2020|
It kinds turned into a queerfest with even secondary characters coming out.
|by Anonymous||reply 218||06/05/2020|
Syntax, R218, syntax!
|by Anonymous||reply 219||06/05/2020|
Yep r217. Obviously in season 1 Alex was not envisioned to be a gay character, it was something purely done because Miles Heizer can't play straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 220||06/05/2020|
Episode 6 is incredibly powerful and Dylan Minnette was excellent in it.
|by Anonymous||reply 221||06/05/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 222||06/05/2020|
So did the gay producers of this show just want to get off to Miles Heizer making out with a bunch of guys this season? It’s bizarre that the character went from madly in love with a woman to gay, gay, gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 223||06/05/2020|
[quote]Obviously in season 1 Alex was not envisioned to be a gay character
The did have Alex get a boner wrestling with Zach in S2.
|by Anonymous||reply 224||06/05/2020|
I thought that was supposed to be more of a 'My dick works again!' moment than a gay moment considering it's never mentioned again.
|by Anonymous||reply 225||06/05/2020|
I dunno, that was what made it work, not cam girls.
|by Anonymous||reply 226||06/05/2020|
Was Charlie in the last season? I quit after episode six, but I have no memory of him at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 227||06/05/2020|
He was introduced in the last season, and then in idiotic writing immediately became an accessory to murder for this group of people he barely knows.
|by Anonymous||reply 228||06/05/2020|
This season is Forrest Gump meets The Hardy Boys.
|by Anonymous||reply 229||06/05/2020|
Alex and Winston
|by Anonymous||reply 230||06/05/2020|
[quote]He was introduced in the last season, and then in idiotic writing immediately became an accessory to murder for this group of people he barely knows.
Okay. I just say the group have these discussion and was wondering who the fuck he was.
I wonder if they decided to have Alex come out because they fucked up by having Monty be a gay rapist with a rage problem and then end up dead. Some actual gay content, since Christian Navarro would definitely get gay cooties if he had to touch another man.
|by Anonymous||reply 231||06/05/2020|
[quote]Huh? I thought that scene was charming as hell.
|by Anonymous||reply 232||06/05/2020|
How did they rope Phylicia Rashad into this?
|by Anonymous||reply 233||06/05/2020|
R233 Because she had nothing else better to do?
|by Anonymous||reply 234||06/05/2020|
Maybe because I skipped the intros, but the first few episodes started with the funeral speeches and then it just disappeared from the story telling right?
|by Anonymous||reply 235||06/05/2020|
I am five minutes into the finale and they just announced how the character is going to die and I started laughing hysterically.
How was this show created by a gay man? This choice is jaw-droppingly stupid and borderline offensive.
|by Anonymous||reply 236||06/05/2020|
Miles had zero chemistry with the quarterback boyfriend.
|by Anonymous||reply 237||06/05/2020|
Right there with you, R236. Half way through the last episode. Stuuuuppppiddd.
|by Anonymous||reply 238||06/05/2020|
Alex and Charlie
|by Anonymous||reply 239||06/05/2020|
Can a death that way happen that quickly these days?
|by Anonymous||reply 240||06/05/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 241||06/05/2020|
So much whiplash in the last episode.
I did like DL Fave Tommy Dorfmann going over to Winston and basically presenting hole.
|by Anonymous||reply 242||06/05/2020|
R242 Two bottoms don’t make a top.
|by Anonymous||reply 243||06/05/2020|
R191 totally. It's hilarious. The slashfic girls on reddit are fuming that it didn't become the Monty/Winston show.
|by Anonymous||reply 244||06/05/2020|
Winston and Alex were kind of hot together. They actually seemed very into eachother.
|by Anonymous||reply 245||06/05/2020|
Brandon dies, I am in bits
|by Anonymous||reply 246||06/05/2020|
Brandon Flynn’s acting in the last episode is soooooo cringeworthy. It’s very “I have a THEATUH degree, darling!” I guess it’s not his fault the writing was so bad but he was really chewing the scenery and making some very sad scenes funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 247||06/05/2020|
Do you think Liberty High School has a big death wall to commemorate all the students who died?
|by Anonymous||reply 248||06/05/2020|
Clay mentioned three people that he loved who had died. I know two were Hannah and Justin, but who was the third? Jeff, the really kind football player who died before Hannah's suicide?
|by Anonymous||reply 249||06/05/2020|
R249 Yes Jeff, who he tutored and gave him relationship advice. He died running the broken stop sign Sherri had damaged with Hannah in the car. It took me a minute to remember too.
|by Anonymous||reply 250||06/05/2020|
It was a stupid decision to kill him off. All these tragic characters who end up dying... remind me to stay away from Liberty High.
|by Anonymous||reply 251||06/05/2020|
Everyone chewed the scenery this season.
|by Anonymous||reply 252||06/05/2020|
I mean, it would have been nice to remind the viewers about him. I shouldn't have needed to rack my brain. Plus, the actor was hot. Just have a cutaway of him, Justin, and Hannah sitting together.
I can't believe they brought in Kathryn Langford for a day and then didn't give her lines.
Bringing back Ryan and Courtney was a nice touch, although I don't know why they felt the need to bring back Courtney's fathers.
I loved seeing Alex and Charlie gobsmacked when the asshole principal introduced them to his husband.
|by Anonymous||reply 253||06/05/2020|
Wasn’t there a fantasy sequence where he runs into Jeff on the field in an early episode? I wish they had done a better job of distinguishing when he was in the fugue state or whatever.
|by Anonymous||reply 254||06/05/2020|
I can't remember. If they'd cut down on all of Clay's hallucinations, they'd have made most episodes ten minutes shorter.
I also thought it was hot bullshit to give Winston and Monty the Clay and Hannah treatment at the prom.
I have to admit, I thought it was nice when Zach admitted that he and Alex had had a nice kiss, it just hadn't done anything for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 255||06/05/2020|
The weirdest scene to try and distinguish from reality vs. fantasy was Clay totaling Zach’s car. They finally mentioned it again later, but I wasn’t really sure it happened at all. And did Clay leave the scene of the crime? Clay is the poster child for white boy privilege second chances. And not so much second chances as 20 plus chances. There should have been at least a 72 pysch hold for pulling the gun on the officer, not a “I shit myself” escape with not so much as a wrist slap follow up.
|by Anonymous||reply 256||06/05/2020|
I am watching. This season is so messy. The focus on Clay has made it so boring, the writing is even worse somehow and the hallucinations are so boring. Wtf.
|by Anonymous||reply 257||06/05/2020|
Brandon Flynn is such a charming and charismatic actor with a very charming presence. Even he couldn’t help the writing this season, and actually, he seemed like he didn’t even try.
He looked like he didn’t even wanna be there the whole time and was fulfilling his contract and getting those $150k per episode checks.
|by Anonymous||reply 258||06/05/2020|
I am so over this show trying to make Tony a big shot. He’s like 4 feet tall. Anyone could whoop his ass.
|by Anonymous||reply 259||06/05/2020|
Do the Clay/Monty visions continue throughout the entire season? They made the first episode annoying as fuck and I don't know if I can watch an entire season of that.
|by Anonymous||reply 260||06/05/2020|
R260 they continue for the first 4 episodes. Episode 5 didn’t have them and I’m on 6 and there is none.
|by Anonymous||reply 261||06/05/2020|
Which episode have the sex sessions? I have no patience.
|by Anonymous||reply 262||06/05/2020|
R262 There’s no sex except for Clay cumming in 2 seconds while losing his virginity with his shirt on.
The main sexy stuff was the hot Latino Diego parading around in his underwear and Alex making out with a bunch of boys.
|by Anonymous||reply 263||06/05/2020|
[quote] Two bottoms don’t make a top.
Then explain Charlie and Alex.
|by Anonymous||reply 264||06/05/2020|
Most guys are vers these days.
|by Anonymous||reply 265||06/05/2020|
I am loving episode 6. The acting is phenomenal from everyone, even Miles, who is usually awful.
Idk if he took some lessons or if him playing gay now instead of straight makes him more comfortable, but he’s killing it.
|by Anonymous||reply 266||06/05/2020|
Brandon's character dies a horrible death from AIDs in the last episode of Season 4. In 2020. Okay. Apparently he worked as a rentboy when he was homeless in Season 2.
|by Anonymous||reply 267||06/05/2020|
R267 we find out in season 2 he had been doing heroine and getting fucked by men for drug money.
And people still die of AIDS.
|by Anonymous||reply 268||06/05/2020|
Brandon’s acting In episode 7 is fantastic. The scene where he is splashing water on his face after finding out his mom died to hide he’s crying and then later when he has a breakdown at the dinner table then strips the bed naked and just sits there crying... beautifully acted.
|by Anonymous||reply 269||06/05/2020|
R267 must not have watched the show. Justin goes to a school in an upper middle class to rich area By using someone else’s address to be in that district. He is from a poor home and his mom is a junkie who chooses her junkie BF over her son.
He becomes addicted to heroine himself and gets fucked by strange men he doesn’t know in exchange for drugs or drug money. He may have contacted AIDS through the sex or through sharing needles. Many druggies get HIV/AIDS.
Also, in this season when he is stripped down to his underwear you see he has leisure’s all over his body. That is episode 7. So that means he has had it for a while without knowing and it’s probably attacking his system big time.
|by Anonymous||reply 270||06/05/2020|
270 - you contract a disease and get lesions, not "leisures".
|by Anonymous||reply 271||06/05/2020|
Haven’t watched since season 1 with that disturbing and uncalled for suicide scene. Did any of the men take their clothes off?
|by Anonymous||reply 272||06/05/2020|
Season 1 was very controversial for how explicit the suicide scene was. So much so it got people upset and called to get rid of the show all together. It was also accused of romanticizing suicide.
|by Anonymous||reply 273||06/05/2020|
Brandon Flynn should get an Emmy nom for just this scene. He moved me.
PS he is getting pudgy.
|by Anonymous||reply 274||06/05/2020|
Love that it's back. I saw a spoiler gif at the tumblr of Dudetube by accident. Can't wait for binge-watching the show this weekend.
|by Anonymous||reply 275||06/05/2020|
R275 the first few episodes are slow and annoying because of Clay’s hallucinations but by episode 4 or 5 it gets good.
6 was GREAT and 7 breaks my heart because Justin’s story is so tragic.
|by Anonymous||reply 276||06/05/2020|
Brandon is dating Harry Styles.
|by Anonymous||reply 277||06/06/2020|
R277 He is not. You crazy fraus are obsessed with Harry Styles for some reason, no gay men on DL even like him.
|by Anonymous||reply 278||06/06/2020|
[quote]PS he is getting pudgy.
|by Anonymous||reply 279||06/06/2020|
The actor who plays Charlie was overplaying the gayness to hide the fact that the actor was obviously straight. Annoying.
|by Anonymous||reply 280||06/06/2020|
This season was so gay but didn't have any gay sex scenes. I was hoping to see Miles and Winston's first time or Miles and Charlie's.
|by Anonymous||reply 281||06/06/2020|
R281 Miles already got his ass out last season.
|by Anonymous||reply 282||06/06/2020|
Justin’s story is tragic.
Miles is usually terrible but really stepped his game up this season. I think him being able to play gay has allowed him to loosen up. He was so stiff trying to be a straight guy. He did great in the school shooting episode
|by Anonymous||reply 283||06/06/2020|
I finally finished the season. It was the best yet imo, maybe except season 1. I'd rank the seasons (from best to worst): 1, 4, 3, 2.
I have some thoughts on the season. First off, I'm glad they made Alex gay. It was a long time coming. They hinted at it a lot last season. I would have been pissed if they didn't make him gay. I'm so sick of gaybaiting. That brings me to Alex and Zach. I love their friendship and I'm so glad the writers didn't give into fan hype and paired them up. Zach has always been straight. I'm glad he's so cool about Alex being gay. I'm sure he wasn't shocked, lol. It's so obvious the writers are straight though as they clearly paired two bottoms at first, with Alex and Winston. At least it's slightly more believable Charlie is a top, though only slightly (lol). Charlie kinda looks like a bottom too. Overall I think they did Alex's gay storyline really well. What pissed me off however is that once again the gay guy doesn't get to have sex. Alex had sex with a fucking hooker last year, yet this year the writers won't even let him have sex with his own boyfriend? They baited us when Charlie said he'd love to do more than just sleep (as in actually sleep) with Alex. I was annoyed noting came off it. 100 % they would have showed them have sex. Same shit happened in Sex Therapy. Granted, the gay guy (Anwar) was shown having sex with his boyfriend, yet it lasted for a second. A literal second. It was laughable. The lesbians got several minutes of rubbing their clits together (sorry for being graphic), I know it's gross. It's true though.
I was shocked they killed Justin off. I thought for sure they'd make him live because this show has had way too many deaths, I guess I was wrong. In a way I'm glad about it though, because it was realistic. It made sense. Justin has lived a shitty life. It had to ruin him one day. What I didn't like with his storyline though, is that it felt... idk... kinda sudden? But at the same time they spent a whole episode on him. We had to watch him die. I'd rather see more of the storylines of the others instead tbh, like yeah, more of Alex and Charlie, though I did think their coming out scenes were well done.
Then there's Clay. The show mishandled his storyline so much. I was so mad at how the show dealt with his mental health issues, like he was crazy. Dealing with mental health issues does not mean you're crazy. Second, all the scenes of Clay forgetting stuff and picturing people... it was so exaggerated. At first I thought he was schizophrenic. No way was he just dealing with anxiety and depression. What a load of bullshit. Second, why was he never medicated? I know he was in therapy, but that is only part of what he needs. I don't think the show did a great job with mental health awareness. I'm on anti-depressants. I'm not ashamed because it's nothing to be ashamed of. I was so annoyed Clay was never medicated when he clearly needed it.

Anyone else think the whole thing with Winston was so ridiculous? Like... he loved Alex after a few kissing sessions? He also said he loved Monty despite only knowing him for a few weeks. He seemed borderline psychopath. No wonder Alex dumped him. I didn't believe he would not move forward with what he knew. It wasn't believable. A guy like him would have spilled everything. Nah dude, keeping quiet was not realistic.

|by Anonymous||reply 286||06/06/2020|
R284 you’re putting way too much thought into a few scenes of Alex being gay. It wasn’t a big deal nor was it great tv. It was nonsense. Alex was never gay. They had to make him gay because of who is playing him.
Miles would have never been able to pull of the scenes during the school shooting if he had to play it straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 287||06/06/2020|
R285 - the whole season was full of lazy, contrived writing.
|by Anonymous||reply 288||06/06/2020|
The coming out scenes were good, especially Charlie's. His dad was so loving and supportive, but at the same time not surprised. And I'm glad he came out as bi. Not enough bi representation on this show, let alone in the media in general. Tons of bi women, yet very few bi guys. Despite the fact that bi guys are real. Fucking hell, gen z is much more comfortable with being bi. More bi guys are coming out than ever before. I'm also glad it changed nothing with how Charlie was perceived by the football jocks. Also, it was cute how Alex's brother was like "you're dating the quarterback?" FUCK YEAH! lol. I would have liked a proper coming out scene from Alex too, though Alex saying Charlie was his boyfriend was better than nothing, I guess.
|by Anonymous||reply 289||06/06/2020|
R288 I did like the gay storyline, although far from perfect it was well done. I loved the coming out scenes and the prom king and king thing. I'm sad that once again we didn't get a gay sex scene, but whatever, you can't have everything I guess. I'm just happy they finally made Alex gay. He was never believable as straight. Miles Heizer simply can't play straight, never could. The thing about Justin felt contrived. Too many deaths on this show already. Also, spending an episode watching him die? No thanks. Don't even get me start on the ridiculous and unbelievable outcome from Winston. He just walked away without implicating them? He's a fucking psychopath. Not realistic. And don't even get me started on Zach's sheriff father talking with the other sheriff (sorry, don't know his name) about family. The other sheriff clearly knew who killed Bryce, yet he didn't say anything?! WTF? Again, that made no sense.

For some reason someone here puts too much thought into the few gays scenes and ignores the rest of the show. Weird.
Diego was sexy as fuck.
|by Anonymous||reply 291||06/06/2020|
The show depicted several sex scenes, and in particular Alex having sex with women several times. Yet he wasn't allowed a sex scene with his boyfriend. It's hypocritical, and yes I'm pissed.
|by Anonymous||reply 292||06/06/2020|
Clay and Tyler are the best actors on this show. Tyler is the best imo, then Clay, then probably Justin. The rest are mediocre, at best.
|by Anonymous||reply 293||06/06/2020|
It wasn't realistic how they all got away with murder. In real life they all would have been charged and arrested a long time ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 294||06/06/2020|
[Quote]Yes. The same guy who beat the shit out of him. This show is majorly fucked up and its gay storylines are borderline homophobic.
All shows do this though, it's such a cliche at this point. Sex Therapy did the same thing, having the gay boy fall in love with the guy who bullied him and beat him.
|by Anonymous||reply 295||06/06/2020|
Another thing that didn't make sense was Tony's boxing career. The guy is barely 5 feet tall. It's ridiculous how the show always tried to have him be this tough street kid when he is so short and tiny. The actor was clearly miscast. Wonder if he was cast because the competition was slim, did nobody else want to play gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 296||06/06/2020|
I've gotten through half of the 4th shitshow. They jumped the shark in a dumpster fire with this season. Clays story is a mess, there's no way he wouldn't have been medicated. They managed to make Jessica even more obnoxious and self righteous.
Alex should have been played as ambiguous from the beginning. Glad they finally went there but he spent way too much time with his character trying to have sex with first Jessica then a hooker.
And WHAT THE FUCK is up with Tonys hair? Ash blond highlights?!?!
I'm not finished with the season yet, Tyler has an intriguing storyline this season, and I know Justins fate now, although he played the broken and barely held together, traumatized and self medicating role so well, it's not a great shock given the losses he's sustained.
I'm worried that they're setting things up to follow a group of these characters to college. Haven't seen this whole season so hopefully they really end things before the show turns into a thorough joke.
|by Anonymous||reply 297||06/06/2020|
[Quote]Will the annoying all-knowing Ani be back?
I'm glad Ani didn't play a big part this season. I'm sure they know they fucked up having her be the all-knowing cunt last year. Thankfully they had Clay as the voice over this season. The fans hated her and they even drove the actress off social media.
|by Anonymous||reply 298||06/06/2020|
R45 and R47 Flynn isn't the best. The guy playing Tyler is. I'd even rate Dylan (Clay) above Flynn.
|by Anonymous||reply 299||06/06/2020|
Selena Gomez is the executive producer of this show. Of course they will do a spin-off. She needs to make herself more millions off this.
Clay would be medicated for sure. He’s losing it and everyone is ignoring him. Granted, our mental healthcare system sucks.
Alex isn’t a cool character and is suddenly gay. Who cares? R292 this is the shows final season with 3 less episodes as previous seasons. They were closing out the characters stories, not worries about random sex scenes. No one had a sex scene minus Clay losing his V card and that was 2 seconds. That’s it. Quit crying.
|by Anonymous||reply 300||06/06/2020|

Oh I don’t know... could that be because you’re on a GAY GOSSIP website? Yeah, sooooo “weird.”
|by Anonymous||reply 301||06/06/2020|
They gave Ani a good part this season. She was actually very good after she comes back in episode 7.
|by Anonymous||reply 302||06/06/2020|
R301 that means we need to focus on a random gay “love” story? Please. Alex being gay is only believable because they cast a gay boy in the role who acts, sounds and moves gay. Miles was miscast.
There was nothing groundbreaking or even charming about his forced storyline this season.
|by Anonymous||reply 303||06/06/2020|
Did anyone notice that Alex does not actually come out as gay or bi, he just tells his parents he has a boyfriend and that’s that?
I’m wondering if Miles has some say in that since he himself has never come out as gay. He might be one of those types that if you ask him would just say he doesn’t believe in labels.
|by Anonymous||reply 304||06/06/2020|
[Quote]I admit only watching the first few episodes but did anyone else think the girl who killed herself was an exhausting, self-indulgent bitch, revelling in making her death such a mysterious drama and getting a dig in at everyone she could?
Yup. I was one of them. This show was criticized for being "suicide porn" and "revenge porn". Hannah was all about revenge.
|by Anonymous||reply 305||06/06/2020|
Him telling them he has a boyfriend is his way of coming out...
|by Anonymous||reply 306||06/06/2020|
R304 Yup, I literally commented that above. I would have liked to see Alex actually come out, though him telling his parents he had a boyfriend was a cute scene.
|by Anonymous||reply 307||06/06/2020|
THAT WAS HIS WAY OF COMING OUT.
|by Anonymous||reply 308||06/06/2020|
I’m glad Miles finally played gay so that all of his DL haters can shut the fuck up and stop saying he’s too ashamed of himself to accept a gay role.
I believe that Miles has wanted to play gay and do gay projects for a very long time, he promoted Love Simon very passionately and spoke at length about how excited he was to be cast, even though they made his character straight in that.
|by Anonymous||reply 309||06/06/2020|
He doesn’t choose how the character is written. I don’t understand how someone could be upset he is playing straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 310||06/06/2020|
Miles looked so skinny this season, almost scarily skinny. He looked like he's lost a ton of weight.
|by Anonymous||reply 311||06/06/2020|
[quote] I would have liked a proper coming out scene from Alex too, though Alex saying Charlie was his boyfriend was better than nothing, I guess.
I liked that he didn’t need to come out. He’s dating a man, label that what you will. It’s 2020, must we always have a scene where a gay son makes an “announcement”? It’s such an outdated trope.
|by Anonymous||reply 312||06/06/2020|
R312 THANK YOU.
And to be honest, him saying he has a boyfriend is his coming out.
|by Anonymous||reply 313||06/06/2020|
Only in that upper class suburb would Tony be taken serious as a bad ass street smart bad boy. Lmao.
In Brooklyn he’s be tossed over a bridge easily.
|by Anonymous||reply 314||06/06/2020|
Tony was a joke and the actor who played him constantly overacted. Christian Lee Navarro is lucky he got this job because he looks like he’s in his early forties on a good day.
|by Anonymous||reply 315||06/06/2020|
[quote] Miles looked so skinny this season, almost scarily skinny.
I thought this too, he’s rail thin. The circumference of his waist looked like the size of a human wrist. His fat boyfriend must be stealing all his food.
|by Anonymous||reply 316||06/06/2020|
Miles looks more handsome now that he is very thin.
The actor who plays Tony is terrible and he’s short and fat. Who is scared of him?
|by Anonymous||reply 317||06/06/2020|
R316 Connor isn't skinny like Miles but he's hardly fat. Once the US-Canada border opens they'll have tons of sex for cardio so don't worry.

|by Anonymous||reply 324||06/06/2020|
I actually liked this season
|by Anonymous||reply 325||06/06/2020|
To the morons complaining Alex didn’t “come out”, his telling them this is my boyfriend was his coming out. Afterwards he stands in shock by their nonchalant reaction, and his mom asks if he is ok and he says “I thought this would be a bigger deal”, meaning that was his coming out.
|by Anonymous||reply 326||06/06/2020|
Also, to the morons who are crying about no gay sex, Alex is new to dating a dude. He probably is scared of his first time with a man.
In episode 9 Clay says Alex asked him to come with Charlie and him to prom because he’s scared Charlie will “make a move”.
Believe it or not, we didn’t all start fucking men right away. Some of us were nervous and scared.
|by Anonymous||reply 327||06/06/2020|
God knows why, Charlie was nothing but respectful.
Is the actor who plays Winston gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 328||06/06/2020|
No. Deaken Bluman (Winston) is married to woman who is like 10 years older than him.
|by Anonymous||reply 329||06/06/2020|
*to a woman*
|by Anonymous||reply 330||06/06/2020|
I mean, I'm glad that we're in a place where Brandon can play a straight character and Miles can play one (unconvincingly) who was set up that way at first. But would it kill them to cast one gay actor to play one of their gay parts.
I mean, Christian Navarro has been Hal Sparks-level uncomfortable all the way through.
|by Anonymous||reply 331||06/06/2020|
Well, I guess M. Dorfmann, but he was hardly a main role.
|by Anonymous||reply 332||06/06/2020|
Christian is a Drag Race fan. I wouldn't assume his sexuality...
|by Anonymous||reply 333||06/06/2020|
R333 Christian is straight and never even tried to hide his discomfort in kissing men on the show.

No, absolutely not.
|by Anonymous||reply 337||06/06/2020|
I saw the thing on Justin's neck, but it never crossed my mind it was supposed to be a lesion. I was thinking scab from fighting or a bad tattoo. That story line was so abrupt and not well thought out.
|by Anonymous||reply 338||06/06/2020|
What does everyone think of the spin-off rumors? Dylan Minnette has said it’s been in discussion but that he doesn’t know if he’ll be involved (he probably wants out).
They set up Alex and Jessica going to the same college. Could they pull something off where Jess is a campus activist and Alex is her pansexual bestie exploring his sexuality and place in the “queer community”? Gen Z would eat it up.

This scene was hard to watch. Was AIDS really necessary? Especially since Brandon is gay in real life. Why not just have him OD?
|by Anonymous||reply 345||06/06/2020|
I thought they did the AIDS thing fine.
If you remember the 80s, men were dropping in the streets from AIDS. Granted, we have come far from that but the thing is Justin never got tested so he didn’t know he had it. Hence, it killing him.
|by Anonymous||reply 346||06/06/2020|
R217 It's funny because it's true.
|by Anonymous||reply 347||06/06/2020|
Because Brandon is gay we should ignore that AIDS can happen? And still does? No.
Brandon doesn’t have aids. His character does.
|by Anonymous||reply 348||06/06/2020|
Why would they make a straight character gay from the beginning? R343 is probably one of those people who scream when a black person is cast in a white characters role but is ok with a straight character being changed to gay
|by Anonymous||reply 349||06/06/2020|
R345 why is that on YouTube already? Stop ruining it for us not up to there yet.
|by Anonymous||reply 350||06/06/2020|
R348 No one is ignoring that people die of AIDS related complications. We’re rejecting the fact that in 2020 NO ONE would have known that a student is HIV positive, especially when medical records are required to attend public schools in California, and absolutely required if you’re a student athlete.
Even if he contracted HIV after the school year started, you do not die or AIDS within one year. That’s crazy, poorly written, and offensive.
|by Anonymous||reply 351||06/06/2020|
R245 Literally what I was thinking. They had chemistry, unlike Alex and Charlie. It's way too convenient that Alex found out about Charlie's intentions on the camp trip, right before sleeping in the same tent, of course. It was just a way for the writers/producers to avoid showing them have sex.
|by Anonymous||reply 352||06/06/2020|
R247 I agree. I think he was overacting, borderline making it a comedy. I don't get why people praise his acting so much. He was overacting several times this season. Tyler iss a much better actor imo.

[Quote]I can't remember. If they'd cut down on all of Clay's hallucinations, they'd have made most episodes ten minutes shorter.
I'm surprised Clay "only" suffered from anxiety and depression. Are hallucinations normal with anxiety? I don't suffer from anxiety but I do have depression and I have never had hallucinations. At first I thought Clay was schizophrenic, which would make sense with all of the hallucinations, considering his age too. But no. Apparently he was just "tired". WTF?! Clay's whole storyline this season was so badly done. This is NOT what mental illness is. Why didn't he get meds to stop the dangerous and harmful hallucinations? Fucking terrible therapist who didn't consider he needed medication.

|by Anonymous||reply 363||06/06/2020|

The hallucinations were caused by him not sleeping for days on end. If you’ve ever been in a situation where you don’t sleep, hallucinating can happen.

Clay, who had a mental breakdown during the active shooter drill, admits that he has a disassociative disorder to his parents, and they react as if he just told them that he likes to masturbate in the shower??? How clueless can these people be? They should have immediately admitted him to the hospital for intensive treatment, not sent him off to school and the prom.
Winston knows Monty for five minutes, and in Season 4, he suddenly becomes a crusader for him and Bryce. WTF? Why? He didn't even know Bryce. His character made NO SENSE and was just added to introduce yet another attractive gay character to the show.
Ani is suddenly pining for Jessica? What? Since when? Did the writers realize that they had made more than half the males on the show gay, and forgot to include some lesbians?
Was the prom a fantasy sequence? Charlie and Alex get prom queen and king after being a couple for ten minutes, and the football team cheers them on, as if they haven't been a bunch of alpha male jock assholes for the last four seasons? And let's not forget that the sea literally parted for Justin when he shows up, so he can dance with Jessica. Sure. Why not?
The police literally beat up students in the streets and wouldn't let them back into their school, and we get NO REACTION from the parents? Where are the class action lawsuits? Where is the outrage? These are the worst parents in the history of television.
What a fucking mess.

Some of the people on the Reddit sub for this show are throwing tantrums about the show having too many gays.
I’m reading one right now
“And suddenly everybody is gay”
“I’m pretty sure there are more gay characters on the show than straight ones at this point. They even had to make the dean gay.”
“Gayest school in the world. So gay that Alex Jones is going to do a Podcast about the water in that school turning students and staff gay.”

I always wondered across the seasons if the potential ramifications of Justin’s IV drug use and sex work would ever be addressed.
