Food Network Star Anne Burrell Is Engaged to a Man She Met on Bumble

Longtime Food Network Star Anne Burrell, 50, confirmed on Instagram last night that she got engaged to her boyfriend of more than two years. Stuart Claxton, 48, proposed to the chef in Cazenovia, NY, where they are self-isolating with her family, she told PEOPLE.

While the Insta announcement didn't provide too much information other than the joy and happiness of it all, Anne told the mag it was a beautiful and low-key proposal:

[quote] My mom and Stuart got together and made a plan where he and I were going to have a date night. She set up a beautiful table in her apartment and we just planned a dinner for the two of us. We were having a nice time, and Stuart then starts saying, ‘Oh, this is a good song to put on a playlist for our wedding reception.’ And I’m like, ‘OK, sure. But why are we talking about that now?'

A "weepy" conversation about family ensued and “then Stuart [pulled] a ring out of his pants pocket," she continued. She also noted they have no immediate wedding plans because of the current pandemic, but that they are perfectly content to hold off for now: "We’re just basking in the joy of this because that’s all we can do for the foreseeable future.” That said, Claxton explained he was very happy he'd picked up the ring before the pair started quarantining.

For those unfamiliar with the couples' story, they've been together since 2018 after meeting on the dating app Bumble.

Um, didn't she used to be a lesbian?

I could have sworn she was dating a woman.

by Anonymousreply 1April 22, 2020 6:20 PM

Came to say the same, R1.

Thought she was all about the cooch.

by Anonymousreply 2April 22, 2020 6:21 PM

Is he a bee?

by Anonymousreply 3April 22, 2020 6:22 PM

Is he a man man?

by Anonymousreply 4April 22, 2020 6:23 PM

Proof that many women "become" lesbians, just because they can't find a man.

How weird.

This doesn't happen with men.

But…but…doesn't she quaff from the furred cup?

by Anonymousreply 7April 22, 2020 6:35 PM

Huh... Well, apparently her non-snatch adventures have been moderately well documented on her Instagram feed.

Perhaps if I had cared enough to follow...

by Anonymousreply 8April 22, 2020 6:36 PM

Yeah, we know, OP.

but she officially came out, didn't she? She was outed by someone on one of her shows on TFN, and then was interviewed about it - at least I think that's how it went. Oh well - whatever, who cares? Best of luck to her , I always really liked her.

by Anonymousreply 10April 22, 2020 6:40 PM

I was always under the impression that she was a lesbian, so I found it strange, whenever she flirted with men on "Worst Cooks in America" or "Beat Bobby Flay."

Now i understand.

Cazenovia, NY? Hmmm...that is one of Rita Mae Brown's stomping grounds.

by Anonymousreply 12April 22, 2020 6:55 PM

So Anne likes both cock and pussy?

by Anonymousreply 13April 23, 2020 3:01 AM

Anne likes a 'clean' public image, R13.

by Anonymousreply 14April 23, 2020 1:45 PM

I met my man on Stumble ,as in drunk

by Anonymousreply 15April 23, 2020 2:38 PM

I don't know anyone who could stand Anne's shrill voice.

It's horrible!

by Anonymousreply 16April 23, 2020 3:17 PM

Add me to the list of people who thought she was an out lesbian.

by Anonymousreply 17April 23, 2020 3:33 PM

Maybe there's something with the name.

by Anonymousreply 18April 23, 2020 3:38 PM

And Annes born in 1969.

I know a handful of lesbians who married men in their 40s because someone in their family died and they felt guilty about not having children. One woman was married and pregnant four months after her father died because she felt guilty for not "giving" him grandchildren.

My lesbian cousin also married a man shortly after my aunt died. Then about 18 months in a marriage she suggested they have a threeway with another woman.

The husband was ecstatic. He was there to participate in the end of his marriage and the birth of her next marriage.

He just didn't know it.

by Anonymousreply 21April 23, 2020 5:53 PM

I've known quite a few lesbians who ended up marrying men -Really nice men, usually. If it works for them, whatever...

Personally, I'd never be able to make the switch to carpet cleaning. I love my hard floors.

by Anonymousreply 22April 23, 2020 6:06 PM

maybe she bi?

by Anonymousreply 23April 23, 2020 6:27 PM

Many lesbians go back in after being out.

by Anonymousreply 24April 23, 2020 6:44 PM

No one person can resist the allure of fresh dick for long.

by Anonymousreply 25April 23, 2020 6:59 PM

He looks like he might be new to vagina.

by Anonymousreply 26April 23, 2020 7:11 PM

Maybe a double ceremony! Let me ask Stedman!
