Food Network's Anne Burrell is engaged ... to a man!
Chef Anne Burrell has taken her love life off the back burner and is serving up a whole new future! The host of Food Network's "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef" is engaged to Stuart Claxton, who works in ad sales marketing at Univision.
Burrell, 50, announced the news on Tuesday that Claxton, 48, had proposed in her hometown of Cazenovia, New York, where the pair are quarantining with her family. People first reported the news.

This reminds me of when Julie Cypher broke up with Melissa Etheridge. "I'm not gay and never have been." So 12 years and 2 children later, she was just faking it all. Because that isn't deranged at all.

She acted weird right after Ted outed her—she freaked out and left work, then holed up at home for a while before issuing a statement that she was never in the closet to begin with (despite claiming on Facebook that she was single and looking for a boyfriend).

If I remember correctly (can't find a link right now), a magazine did a feature several years ago on celebrity chefs' ideal dates. Anne Burrell was one of the chefs featured, and she described her ideal date as a man, which raised a lot of eyebrows and prompted a lot of eye-rolling at the time because everyone pretty much knew or assumed she was a lesbian. I think it was shortly after that that Ted Allen outed her. It seems that Burrell has always been conflicted about her sexuality.

I’ve noticed that even today, a lot of people around her age that are gay are still never truly comfortable with their sexuality. As someone else mentioned, I’m wondering if her parents did not take it well when she came out and now she’s trying to please them. If so, that’s sad she still worries what people think.
I don’t see this lasting.

For a woman, a relationship with a man would be much easier. Provided the man is not an abuser, most straight men will go out of their way to prevent their wives from expressing sadness or anger. They often become passive to avoid arguments. And with straight men, most moods can be even out with sex or food.
Two women together will talk, talk, talk, get emotional (times two), and process/overanalyze the situation.

I remember her cooking bolognese sauce on one of her shows several years back. "BROWN food is good" is what she kept repeating. Brown the veggies, brown the tomato paste, over-brown the meat. She said it with such authority so I tried it her way. Not bad at all. I like her. My ex girlfriend from high school and I met up at a gay bar during my college years. She was a big lipstick lesbian during the whole early to mid-20 years. She ended up marrying a dude several years later. Who cares?

She is not a douche like Guy Fieri. Her recipes are really good, I loved her original show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. It was unpretentious and fun. I learned a lot of good cooking skills from watching her. I get her humor since I worked in a restaurant when I was young. She talks to her food like we had to talk to customers, so I get that. Plus she has good cooking chops, she lived in Italy working as a chef so I think she paid her dues. Compare that with Ted Allen who's only experience with food was plating hors d'oeuvres on Queer Eye.

Maybe it's a lesbian chef thing. The first lesbian who won Hell's Kitchen, Heather West, supposedly was a lesbian but now she's married to some guy. I think a lot of it is just that it's so much easier to be straight in this country. Add that to the fact that it's also a lot easier to have kids and they all just pretend for a decade or two. Then, the kids leave and they go back to women. I don't think any actual lesbian would sleep with a man after their youthful experimentation stage. These women are bisexual.

Yep, I know one right now who is in her 60's. She started out straight had 2 kids, then became a Lesbian at some point. Had a purely ceremonial gay wedding back in the day before it was legal. 30 years later they are breaking up and now all she talks about is how she wishes she could find a rich man 80 years old so he would kick the bucket soon, not have sex and leave her all his money. Meanwhile her ex-girlfriend still lives in the house fixing up things (typical) so she doesn't want her to leave even though she bitches about it every day. Of course she is also a life coach, spiritual guidance and marriage counselor.

My friend's cousin is like that. Two marriages and two children before age 40. At age 42 she left husband #2 and started a relationship with a woman. Eight years later they're still together. She's a lesbian, however, she identifies as "fluid." If she leaves the woman she's been with longer than any of her marriages, it won't be for a man because her trust fund has kicked in.

He's just 90% bad, and sucks as a TV personality. I wish they'd put another host on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives", it's a good idea for a TV show, real mental comfort food, and it'd be so much more pleasant with a different host!

[quote] Seeking men
[quote] What Burrell’s food says about her: “My food is aggressively seasoned, in-your-face. It’s creative and thoughtful, but still subtle and purposeful. It speaks to who I am. I’m a little left of center: lots of fun and a little nutty, but I can also be relaxed and chill.”
