Interesting paper from Santa Clara County testing for antibody seroprevalance. If they are correct, the actual rate of exposure is at least 50% greater than the confirmed case numbers in that county.

We heard that ventilators were good for the patient and now we are hearing they may make things worse. We heard it can stay on a surface from a few hours to a few weeks. We heard stay 6 feet away, but now we are hearing if a person coughs it can carry 25+ feet. Do they even have the incubation period down? We've heard all the symptoms, but a lot of people say they had some of the symptoms. At this point it seems like a crapshoot whether you will get it or not, how sever your symptoms will be if you get it and whether you will recover or die. On a bright spot if you are here that means you are alive.

Last stats I read, Texas is second worst at testing. What shows from tests we have, is that cases are taking off like a rocket over last 10 days. Gov. Abbott thought this would be a great time to loosen the rules, open the parks, turn on the lights of non-essential stores. Being Texans, we should see activity out and about like young men on bucking broncos. Be careful out there!

My Dr. told my mom as long as I didn't have any problems they didn't need to be removed. Just like the US, you can’t make sweeping generalizations about Texas. South Texas - which is 5 hours through essentially vacant land from the nearest major urban center - has been doing decent testing and contact tracing. Tests are processed locally. The relatively few people make tracing possible.

Abbots relaxing of restrictions makes sense for South Texas (which is solid Dem by the way). The early closure was a savior for remote Texas - by shutting early and getting testing going, they are now more like a Taiwan than a NYC. In addition, everyone is spread out, it’s 98 degrees and humid and there is very little international - or even national - travel in or out. Treating remote, humid subtropical, isolated, sparsely populated towns with decent testing the same as NYC is unnecessary.
