Back in the halycon days before the MCU, I remember everyone opining that Tobey Maguire & Topher Grace (of the notorious SPIDER-MAN III) looked like twins.

Personally, I see little physical similarity at all. One is short, dark-haired, doughy and pale with thin inward-turned lips and big blue bug-eyes; the other is average-tall, golden-blond and hazel-eyed (with one walleye), wide-lipped, lightly-tan and on the skinny side. They’re like chalk and cheese.

Maybe people were referring more to their persona and their typecasting, which is somewhat similar. Apparently they were up for a lot of the same roles in their youth.

They seem attracted to one another, though—don’t they say people are most physically drawn to their dopplegängers?

Not actors, per se, but to look at I have always confused ‘00s singers Tony Vincent & Alex Band, particularly when both were sporting dyed dark-brown hair and cut some fairly emo singles. They are of a similar build, similar height, and similar look. Both also seem really gay, but are straight-married and have kids.

Only the fact that their voices are polar opposites - Vincent’s a high tenor, Band’s a low alto - and that one primarily does stage (Vincent) and the other doesn’t (Band, who was the lead singer of The Calling) helps me tell them apart.
