If a pharmacy is open, you can buy pain-relieving gel for teeth there.

f there is anyway you can get to a Walgreens, this Red Cross Toothache Kit has worked wonders for me in the past quelling pain when I couldn't get to a dentist over the weekend. It's actually just clove oil but it sure does dull the pain, takes effect about 5 or so minutes after application.

Truly, r7? I always think of Tylenol as the Last Option so I never think of it but thank you for reminding me of it

Call your dentist (assuming you can) and have her write a prescription for your pain med of choice. Mine couldn't see me Wednesday for a cavity so she gave me a scrip for 20 T-3's and said "Call if you need more - I'm not sure we can see you before May." Which is just another reason I love my dentist.
If you can't do that, try the 650 mg "Arthritis Strength" Tylenol.

Called the dentist's offices and left several messages since yesterday. No answer.
But ok so the general feeling, in absence of a dentist, is Tylenol?
Ok. Will do.
Thank you, kind DL'ers

Fucking hell I'm so tired of this. I just want it to end.

Drink.
But instead of waiting until 12:00, you have to wait until tooth-hurty.

I wouldn't call and ask the dentist for pain medication right now if you want to be taken seriously.
Hopefully they return your call soon. They might prescribe antibiotics -- once the infection is knocked down (for awhile at least) it should stop hurting. Obviously, eating and drinking sweet stuff irritates the infected nerves, so avoid that and rinse your mouth after eating, even if you only use water to rinse. There's an oragel liquid, extra-strength, that works well but I would order it ASAP as you are definitely not the only one in this situation now. That, plus Tylenol and avoiding things that inflame it more/keeping that tooth super clean of food/drink should get you by until they return your call.
I'm sorry. Tooth pain is one of the worst pains. I've been there.

I went to the dentist yesterday to have a tooth pulled. If you have a good dentist he/she see emergencies, one patient at a time. Thank God. I was in real pain.

I have an appointment Monday for an extraction, they're only seeing emergency cases. It might vary from state to state.
