Dental offices closing

I was scheduled for a cleaning on Monday. Today the office called to cancel because they are closing until May on the advice of the ADA. What happens if somebody has an emergency?

String. Door knob.

My dental office sent me an email saying that they were closing for a couple of weeks but that a dentist would be on call for emergencies.

Same as r2.

LOL

I didn't even think about how crazy everyone will go because they can't get a dentist to pop some chicklets out of the box to anchor into people's mouths.

Considering the recent teefs obsession, dental appointments will probably become the new "toilet paper".

As of now my wisdom teeth are scheduled to come out on April 20th. I haven't received a cancellation notice, but that kind of thing has been put on hold in my state.

Something must have happened today, some edict from TPTB. My ophthalmologist’s office called me to reschedule my appointment because the office was closing for “at least 2 weeks.” I wonder what people with actual medical problems are supposed to do?

This feels very ominous.

OP, same thing is happening here in Norway. The dentist will stay open for emergencies only.

R6, most specialty (non-primary care) offices are canceling or rescheduling non-urgent appointments. It's a protection for staff and for patients since physicians' offices tend to be full of sick people.

I have routine semi-annual bloodwork/doctor appointment, scheduled the first week of April, to check my thyroid levels which have been completely stable on the same prescription dosage for over a decade.

I really don't want to go-- I feel fine; I hope the doctor's office sends out the sort of email my dentist sent this week, which echos what R2 said.

All non emergency medical AND dental procedures are being shuffled off to Buffalo for the forseeable. OP. I got a note from the dentist I haven't seen in 5 years about this (and of course I'm starting to feel a throbbing in my upper crown). Hang in there kids. Get the whiskey and some pliers...

Oops, sorry OP, if it is a true emergency, and not one like mine slowly growing in my head, call and beg. I'm sure they'll figure something out. Stay well.

All the dentist offices here are closed except for emergencies.
