They originally hooked up when Mattis was a Colonel and Harward a Navy Seal serving in the Middle East. When Mattis became the head of CentCom in Tampa, he brought Harward with him. When Harward showed up, he dropped off all his stuff in the Officer Bachelor Quarters. Later in the day, was told everything had been moved to General Mattis house. When he went there, he found Mattis in the kitchen folding Harward's underwear! He said he was doing his own laundry and thought he'd do Bob's, too. BTW, both of them are still bachelors.
