There are so many more, but I don't remember offhand. And let's not forget personality disorders (narcissist and BPD being particularly high amongst the entertainment industry stars), add well as drug and alcohol abuse also being part of the mental health spectrum.
I don't know much about stars/celebrities outside of the English speaking circle, though. I suppose Vincent Van Gogh (schizophrenia), if one were to say he was a celebrity (not in his lifetime, sadly).
Is it a wonder therapists do well in NYC and LA? I'm not even being facetious. It's awful to struggle with mental health illnesses.

Lisa Holcomb - a promising actress who starred in "Animal House" and "Caddyshack," then literally dropped out of sight. It turns out she was suffering from major mental health issues and was even institutionalized for a period of time. She eventually ended up living under the care of her parents.
There's not a lot of information on her whereabouts today, but the female character in the 2004 movie "Stateside" is loosely based on her.

Wow, R41, I'd never heard that before. I wondered what happened to her but honestly thought she just didn't make it, as she was fine but not really a stand-out. Found this online:
[quote]But one of the brightest, Sarah Holcomb - who at 18 played the mayor's virginal 13-year-old daughter who passes out half-naked in the slovenly Delta frat house - tragically fell off the map. As Chris Miller, who co-wrote the screenplay of the 1978 comedy classic and penned the new book "The Real Animal House," relates to mrskin.com: "She was young, younger than the rest of us. We were a fast crowd. Drugs were everywhere. She fell into what, for lack of a better term, you would have to call bad company. And got [bleeped] up on drugs. Coke, primarily, if memory serves," Miller says. "[She] wound up in some home for [bleeped]-up young girls . . . wound up sort-of erased from life. I don't know what became of her. Sad story." Holcomb only made three more films before vanishing into obscurity after "Caddyshack."

R105 I’ve had my family practice MD treat my depression for years. Sometimes a med helps (sometimes for a year or more) and sometimes not, but they all stop working eventually. I think it’s pretty common for family practice doctors to treat depression. And yes, he finally did refer me to a psych professional.

If you're talking about celebs with serious, debilitating mental illness isn't related to being a Hollywood narcissist, and whose mental illness would've occurred anyways if they weren't famous, then the list shortens. A person diagnosed with NPD could function but a person with multiple diagnoses including schizophrenia spectrum disorders, substance abuse disorder, and severe anxiety, it's not that easy to function normally on a daily basis. To qualify for this criteria, there has to be documented hospitalizations for acute decompensation episodes, bad hygiene, disregard for safety, history of suicide attempts, difficulty with relationships, so on and so forth. I'd put the following (dead or alive) at the top of the list:
Britney
Marilyn Monroe
Judy Garland
Karen Carpenter
The following celebs have/ had chronic mental illness that, while not debilitating, definitely limited course of their professional/ personal lives. I rank these celebs as less severe as the first list but still they had it pretty bad at times incapacitated by their illness.
Brian Wilson
Matthew Perry
Whitney Houston
Kurt Cobain
Robin Williams
Carrie Fisher
Kim Basinger
Margot Kidder
Jane Pauley
Gene Tierney
Amanda Bynes

^^^To clarify I don't mean the celebs I'd mentioned had schizophrenia or anxiety etc... Just that they all had documented decompensation episodes and the other listed criteria which puts them high in my ranking.
