Bill Barr just thought he could call it a suicide and we'd all move on. I hope we get more details soon.

Apparently, Ghislane Maxwell liked participating in three ways with Epstein and the girls.

by Anonymousreply 8August 11, 2019 12:54 AM

People close to Epstein, noting that he seemed recently to be in good spirits, were surprised by reports of suicide, according to one person familiar their discussions Saturday, and expressed concern about the possibility of foul play. His attorneys are seeking to learn from authorities how Epstein’s body was found and how such an incident could have happened, this person said.

Epstein was being held in the detention center’s special housing unit, which would mean he was subject to a higher level of security, though it was not immediately clear whether he was in a cell alone. The Bureau of Prisons did not address questions about Epstein’s condition of confinement.

At one point, Epstein did have a cellmate: Nicholas Tartaglione, a former police officer in custody on murder and narcotics charges, though the two were not cellmates at the time of Epstein’s death. Bruce Barket, a lawyer for Tartaglione, called for “a thorough investigation into how this occurred despite the Bureau of Prisons being on notice that Mr. Epstein had already attempted suicide at least once. That investigation should be broad enough to examine the deplorable conditions inmates are forced to endure at the MCC.”

Two law enforcement officials said there were no early indicators of foul play, but they noted that the FBI investigation was in its infancy.

“We don’t have an indication of that right now,” one law enforcement official said of the notion that someone may have killed Epstein.

On Saturday afternoon, a large black SUV with darkly tinted windows was parked in the driveway of Epstein’s Palm Beach estate. A local TV news crew was in the street, but the neighborhood was quiet otherwise.

I want to hear Ms. Maxwell pronounce her first name because the on-air folks are slaughtering it. Phonetically, I always thought it was (soft "G") ...Gee Lahn.

by Anonymousreply 13August 11, 2019 1:39 AM

Is this guy Seth Abramson a reliable source? He has a thread up - with new allegations - that are pretty incredible. Trump visited Epstein at his Palm Beach house in 2017. Epstein was handling huge investments for MBS.

Maxwell was in Atlanta this week, not sure if she's still around.

by Anonymousreply 16August 11, 2019 2:44 AM

So this guy Abramson is saying that Trump, and his secret service, visited Epstein's house when he was already President? I very sincerely doubt that. We'd have heard about it long ago.

by Anonymousreply 17August 11, 2019 2:54 AM

Epstein was sitting in a facility controlled by the Bureau of Prisons, which is part of the DOJ that is controlled by Bill Barr, yet deplorables are convince the Clinton's did it. Barr was in charge, isn't it Barr's and Trump's responsibility to keep Epstein from dying?

by Anonymousreply 18August 11, 2019 3:07 AM

[quote] Is this guy Seth Abramson a reliable source?

Seth Abramson is a fool who has never had actual information about anything ever in his life.

by Anonymousreply 19August 11, 2019 3:10 AM

Thanks r15 for those totally irrelevant photos of the Clintons, yes, the fact that they are smiling proves that they personally murdered Jeffrey Epstein, and they (and Chelsea) should go to the gas chamber, you've totally convinced me

by Anonymousreply 20August 11, 2019 3:36 AM

You can rest assured Epstein was murdered.

by Anonymousreply 21August 11, 2019 3:37 AM

Exactly why wasn't JE's assistant/lover immediately arrested? Clear evidence she engaged in sex with countless underage victims. She should have been serving a lengthy prison sentence back when JE was 1st arrested in FL.

Yes I also know she was a recruiter/pimp making it even more shocking she's never been formally charged with multiple crimes.

by Anonymousreply 22August 11, 2019 4:06 AM

The Los Angeles Times was speculating that he made the bulk of his money because he was using the island for a tax haven for Billionaires if he is, in fact, worth 500 million dollars. There are several businesses listed there. He only took Billionaires as clients. The sex trafficking might have only been a side business. I doubt he made that much money running underage girls.

by Anonymousreply 23August 11, 2019 4:16 AM

R23, agreed.

If he was murdered, it was because he knew where and how these men stashed their cash. The girls were a bug, not the feature. I also suspect that he arranged “interesting and complex” loans, portfolios, etc. He was also bright enough to create money laundering operations that his clients were undoubtedly curious about, to say the least.

This was about money, first and foremost.

by Anonymousreply 24August 11, 2019 4:38 AM

Maxwell was given immunity in FL according to documents released yesterday.

by Anonymousreply 25August 11, 2019 4:58 AM

by Anonymousreply 26August 11, 2019 5:00 AM

However would DL be interested in the details of the JE financed, Israel, Mexico, China, US, Great Britain Saudi combined creation of state-of-the-art electronic surveillance equipment co? Links to Unghyr prison in China and James Bond-style futuristic spying.

by Anonymousreply 27August 11, 2019 5:13 AM

Ms. Maxwell would be wise to disappear into obscurity, forever. If there was ever a time to do so, it was the moment Epstein was rearrested in NJ, while from his private jet.

Epstein should have also disappeared long ago.

This is a story about some incredibly smart, well connected people, whose hubris gave way to making some insanely stupid choices.

Abramson is considered a fool and a nutcase.

by Anonymousreply 31August 11, 2019 5:30 AM

Guys like Epstein get off on the idea that they are untouchable. Even by their own clients when they lett them know that there is a dead man's switch in place. To me it's more likely that the suicide was faked and Epstein is on his way to a nice, new retirement island.

But then these days anybody (who is rich and white) can get away with his heinous criminal shit even when it comes to light.

by Anonymousreply 32August 11, 2019 5:32 AM

R32, With all of the many and varied stories on the internet have you figured out the exact role Lynn de Rothschild has in the JE and G Maxwell machinations?

by Anonymousreply 33August 11, 2019 5:37 AM

FFS believe in all the conspiracy theory that he's faked his own death or someone else offed him all you want. There are fucking cameras everywhere in jail. There's going to be videotape of him hanging himself, either that or capturing a murder which is the least likely scenario. When I worked with the prison population one of the first things I found was the amount of cameras installed, some of them hidden. Sometimes I'd be in a psych exam with a psychotic inmate who's hallucinating and delusional, but then he'll say something like 'they're watching me with cameras' it's actually the truth.

by Anonymousreply 34August 11, 2019 5:39 AM

R34, Don't you think it's rather unusual that the 3 main guards were given the evening off due to last minute "maintenance" of the general area where JE was housed?

by Anonymousreply 35August 11, 2019 5:42 AM

As an Ohio resident, I'm most intrigued by the relationship between Epstein and clothing magnate Les Wexner (who has been issuing weekly press releases dissing and distancing himself from his longtime pal). Gay guys have told me for years that Wexner is gay, and only got married to a woman in his 50s to quell rumors and preserve his image.

I'm not saying Epstein was gay or bi, but they were thisclose for a couple decades. Gay4pay?

Barr will claim that nothing is suspicious about Epstein's death. With Barr's non-existent credibility it will not convince anyone that he is really dead or that he died from "non-assisted" suicide.

by Anonymousreply 37August 11, 2019 5:48 AM

Money is and was the primary common denominator for all of those involved in Epstein’s web.

Not all rich men are pedophiles or hebephiles. Some like having sex with actual adults, like Victoria’s Secret “models”, who were all coincidentally employed by Epstein’s number one, and most important client. The same client who generously “gave” Epstein his NYC townhouse, as well as other assorted properties throughout the United States.

Epstein also had complete control of this man’s money. ALL of it. True story, 100%.

And to think, that I laughed at someone who swore to me that most of the VS models were highly paid escorts, back in the early 00s. He also said that their annual runway show was an auction block, of sorts, for men who wanted to keep the company of these models, or needed beards. I genuinely thought that he was full of shit, & now I realize that perhaps, he was not.

by Anonymousreply 38August 11, 2019 5:52 AM

R38, Should I link YouTube videos demonstrating the real role of VS lingerie "models?" Included is the fact that before he was married Prince Harry coincidentally was partying nearby at the same time as the annual televised runway show.

Wexner is an active supporter of Israel and has lobbied for the support of American political leaders from both parties. He got JE on board with various top level, secretive international projects. The girls of varying ages and drug running were secondary to the many covert operations.

by Anonymousreply 39August 11, 2019 5:58 AM

If he's alive, I would guess he's cooling his heels in Tel Aviv. That would be the smartest choice.

Funny how Epstein got re-arrested after Willism Barr took over the DoJ. Barr's father hired 20 year old college dropout Jeffrey Epstein to teach under aged girls at Dalton, NYC's most exclusive private school for the children of the rich and powerful. The FBI took all of Epstein's records when he was arrested and lo and behold, he dies in prison. The DoJ is in charge of US prisons, so now they get to do an "investigation into his death," which will involve seizing all of those documents.

by Anonymousreply 44August 11, 2019 6:07 AM

R40, Tel Aviv has excellent plastic surgeons who can reconstruct a face.

R38, How do you think Victoria's Secret has been making a profit these past few years? Off their lingerie? From their expensive to produce TV shows? Why do you think that that they're not broadcast in the US but instead in various foreign location where the super elite like to party?

What do you think the marketing agreement with Leo was about other than to make the image of a VS "model" as personal escort the equivalent of a Rolex watch for billionaires? Or is another brand of watch today deemed to be more showy and supposedly exclusive?

by Anonymousreply 45August 11, 2019 6:07 AM

R39, yes. Link some videos, doll face.

Why was his prison cell television black and white?

Does colour television excite too much?

by Anonymousreply 48August 11, 2019 6:12 AM

R45, CBS carried the US broadcasting of the annual runway show. It was definitely broadcast in the United States.

The Leo “marketing & advertising” plan makes sense to me, so good point.

I still want to see the previously offered links to the videos.

Also, who will compile the list of all of the men, besides Leo, who have “dated” and/or married VS models?

Oh, go to sleep, Donald (@ R50). We’re sick of you insisting on inserting yourself into every fucking topic and conversation.

This story has plenty of legs without you.

by Anonymousreply 52August 11, 2019 6:19 AM

One thought. Epstein knew too much about too many powerful people’s peccadilloes and offshore money.

Might a message have been delivered (even through his attorneys, with whom he was meeting for several hours per day) that if ever he were forced to squeal in court, the remaining years of his life were going to be a continuous and truly torturous hell? He may have been told that neither private islands nor prison bars would protect him (witness the first alleged suicide/attack).

Faced with the inevitable, he chose his poison.

by Anonymousreply 53August 11, 2019 6:26 AM

There’s no way that man could have killed himself. I’ve done too much time in those units. It’s an impossibility.

Between the floor and the ceiling is like eight or nine feet. There’s no way for you to connect to anything.

You have sheets, but they’re paper level, not strong enough. He was 200 pounds — it would never happen.

When you’re on suicide watch, they put you in this white smock, a straight jacket. They know a person cannot be injurious to themselves.

The clothing they give you is a jump-in uniform. Everything is a dark brown color.

Could he have done it from the bed? No sir. There’s a steel frame, but you can’t move it. There’s no light fixture. There’s no bars.

They don’t give you enough in there that could successfully create an instrument of death. You want to write a letter, they give you rubber pens and maybe once a week a piece of paper.

Nothing hard or made of metal.

And there’s a cop at the door about every nine minutes, whether you’re on suicide watch or not.

There’s up to 80 people there. They could put two in cell. It’s one or two, but I’ll never believe this guy had a cellmate. He was too blown up.

In the final analysis, Epstein got to live the life that most men with normal, perfect penises did not. His egg shaped penis was probably his biggest motivator to succeed, and simultaneously, his biggest source of shame and insecurity.

I find it difficult to believe that a man who had the fortitude to live into his mid 60s with a deformed penis, decided to kill himself because he was being held on charges that had already been prosecuted, and were going to be possibly dropped with the right attorneys and strategy in place. Had he lived, he might have beaten the new charges.

I also find it odd that a man who was smart enough to have multiple passports and a cache of loose diamonds at hand, was stupid enough to have electronic and/or hard files of photographs of nude, underaged girls in his Manhattan penthouse, ESPECIALLY when he knew that he was currently under scrutiny by those who had much to lose by the mere fact that he was still alive and kicking.

There are certain rules that I personally live by. There are absolutes, and boundaries that I have personally laid out for myself, because I am intelligent enough to understand that if I cross those boundaries, my physical freedom, my career, and my life as I know it, is over. And I am a risk taker, for sure. But even I have a “No Fucking Way” list. So why would a man as bright as Epstein be in possession of what is legally considered to be child pornography, AFTER skating the first rap?

This entire story is unbelievable, & the only thing I believe about it is that we, as the general public, will never know the truth.

R34 it turns out the cameras were turned off for maintenance according to prison officials.

by Anonymousreply 60August 11, 2019 7:39 AM

William Barr looks to be the guilty fatfuck that made sure this happened. The prison was under FEDERAL authority. Somehow Epstein was taken off suicide watch. I'm going to guess that somehow any revealing footage has been erased, paused or edited out.

The only way to provide material proof to any victim accusations is dependent on whatever was seized and allowed to exist in what evidence was gathered at his NY mansion. If it was carried out by FBI! You should assume anything implicating Dump is gone.

by Anonymousreply 61August 11, 2019 8:42 AM

[quote] You should assume anything implicating Trump, Clinton, Prince Andrew, US and international well-known/connected government and political figures is LONG gone.

Fixed.

by Anonymousreply 62August 11, 2019 8:52 AM

There's nothing about Trump being with Epstein on Christmas Eve in 2017 except what Seth Abramson claims on Twitter, so I'd say he's making it up.

In fact, you can find Trump's Christmas Eve message to the U.S. on YouTube, so unless he's claiming they faked it to cover for Trump visiting Epstein, it's just a lie.

Abramson had some decent theory a few years ago and was good at piecing facts together, but he got too attached to the attention and the notoriety, and he's becoming more and more outrageous as the months go by, trying to hold on to the fame.

by Anonymousreply 63August 11, 2019 8:54 AM

[quote]William Barr looks to be the guilty fatfuck that made sure this happened.

If I had to guess, I'd also say it was him. He had the ability and he's the kind of idiot who would think this would solve all his problems, and his immediate angry "we must investigate!" statement sounded fake as hell.

by Anonymousreply 64August 11, 2019 8:55 AM

We have no information about security cameras as of yet, except that there was one outside of the cell and it was on, and they're reviewing footage.

As far as one inside the cell, we don't know there was one, but it appears there wasn't.

I know people will spend their entire lives insisting there was a camera that was turned off, but all that talk started with some Trump-loving nutbag on Twitter, I can't remember his name, who just made it up. There was no malfunction and they weren't turned off.

by Anonymousreply 65August 11, 2019 9:02 AM

I know you're quoting the NY Post, R54, but most of what that guy said was misinformed. Epstein wasn't on suicide watch, he didn't have the smock anymore, and he was checked every 30 minutes. And he used to have a cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, but didn't by the time he died.

He wasn't wearing only brown, he was seen in orange prison fatigues, so I'm thinking this guy who talked to the Post either was in a completely different ward or made a lot of stuff up.

by Anonymousreply 66August 11, 2019 9:05 AM

I heard one accusation by a victim (Jane Doe for now) claiming to have been a virgin 13 year old when she was tied to a bed and raped by Dump. He wanted to pop her cherry because she reminded Dumpfuck of Ivanka. She bore a resemblance to her. She was scared off when another witness (Maria) to the crime was 'disappeared'.

I hope she comes forward. Now it would be her word against Dump=pathological liar.

I wish in the coming years that Billy Barr's efforts to protect his pedo father's reputation will be laid bare.

I'd like to know the exact location of those pictures of dead Epstein. Is that at the hospital or the prison? And if he's been declared dead, why is he not covered up as usual. Did they need the photo to go out to public to prove to some powerful source that he was really and sincerely dead?

by Anonymousreply 70August 11, 2019 12:59 PM

Dead!

by Anonymousreply 71August 11, 2019 1:29 PM

I think he got money from VS guy and also Maxwell who has ties to Russian guys (washing money).

If he's really "intelligence" like some claim he was, then he's dead. He is of no use to any agency. He's a liability at this point. He was killed.

He was in biz with former PM of Israel.

by Anonymousreply 72August 11, 2019 2:26 PM

Wow. Get this. NYT just now reporting that -

Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who hanged himself in a federal jail in Manhattan, was supposed to have been checked by guards every 30 minutes, but that procedure was not being followed the night before he was found, a law enforcement official with knowledge of his detention said.

by Anonymousreply 73August 11, 2019 3:14 PM

yes, I saw the headline...

I am not shedding a tear.

I am sad for his victims who wanted to see justice.

I think there is a very wide network of child sex trafficking...this is just the tip of the iceberg...

I hope it's not an inside job, evidence not gonna "disappear"...

Also saw that Prince Andrew went to church with the rest of the royal cunts.

by Anonymousreply 74August 11, 2019 3:16 PM

In addition, the jail had transferred his cellmate and allowed Mr Epstein to be housed alone in a cell just two weeks after he had been taken off suicide watch, a decision that also violated the jails normal procedure, two officials said.

more blah blah blah

Then - Officials cautioned that their initial findings about his detention were preliminary and could change.

by Anonymousreply 75August 11, 2019 3:17 PM

So yes - he was murdered. And it took inside help. But who ordered it is the fundamental question.

by Anonymousreply 76August 11, 2019 3:19 PM

by Anonymousreply 78August 11, 2019 3:28 PM

If he was truly an off the books, company man, then he might be alive, even though him being alive at this moment is the least likely scenario. I am, however, almost certain that he was CIA. Look at his life and how it was lived. That’s classic, old school, CIA shit.

His life of luxury was OVER. He killed himself. People don’t use common sense...you cant just sneak in jail and kill someone. Idiots.

by Anonymousreply 82August 11, 2019 3:46 PM

R35 You know this “fact” from where, what sources? There’s speculation and there’s going down rabbit hole on the way to loony conspiracy theories. I like a real conspiracy theory as much as some of you guys but one that is based upon reality.

by Anonymousreply 83August 11, 2019 3:55 PM

Once he was caught, his enemies became like grains of sand. Admit it, he was obviously blowing the right men. What, teaching at Dalton school and never graduated from college? Who hired him for the job?

In 1973 he was hired as a floor trader at Bears, 4 years later he was a partner. By 1981he was out, setting up J Epstein and Company. He is now 28 years old and a fast learner.

Some of the reasons people wpnder if the Clintons had something to do with his quite possoble murder? Why was Slick Willie named as not being part of the Epstein scandal? There are reports Bill made twenty or so trips to Jeffs pedo island. Doesn't Monica's age prove he likes young girls? Isn't Bill saying he was only on the sex express plane 4 times? Didn't Epstein help with setting up the Clinton foundation?

Aren't most of the men named Democrats? Who has the most to lose? Democrats.

Do I expect the flood gates to open with the truth and people go go jail? Did that happen in the Jerry Sandusky case, no he was the only one to go go prison. Even as the DL and the web were naming others that needed to be investigated. In my opinion the wealthy pedophiles have closed ranks and their underlings will go to jail, maybe.

R82 Thank you, it’s like the BSC commenters have taken over from speculating (which is fun) to made up conspiracies stated as facts (which is delusional).

JE attempted suicide 17-18 days ago. He wasn’t adjusting to jail life according to reports. He had problems with poor impulse control at the most basic level as someone who couldn’t stop fucking underage girls. As a super wealthy man with everything to lose yet he couldn’t control it. Poor impulse regulation is a risk factor for suicide especially when under emotional distress. Being in jail and realizing shit is about to hit the fan, putting up a public fight via lawyers but knowing he’s fucked anyways, for someone who’s used to high living and yielding power it’s deeply distressing. Not surprising that he attempted again and this time was successful.

by Anonymousreply 85August 11, 2019 4:15 PM

Interesting photo at r81, primarily, because I just noticed that NYFD paramedics are wearing bulletproof vests in order to wheel in a dead man, who will be declared DOA by a licensed medical doctor, within a few minutes.

I guess it is procedure to wear the Kevlar when entering a corrections facility.

I’m grasping at straws because this whole thing is just so fucking out there! Let’s remember to put this in its proper perspective: Jeffrey Epstein was one of THE MOST important defendants of our time. How does this man get the opportunity to kill himself, AFTER an alleged, previously failed suicide attempt?

Why was he zeroed in on again, and more importantly, why now? Not earlier, not later, now. No one cared that he molested, raped, & pimped out girls back when he was first arrested, so why would they care now? What is so special about NOW?

None of this makes any sense on normal paper. This is one of the most absurd stories ever written, & it had to be written on “funny” paper, because it is that outrageous, and unreal.

This is a like a movie, not real life. Think about that for a minute.

Sad for the victims who will never get real justice in the criminal case.

Hope the friends who brought the girls to him are charged!

If people think that prison guards not properly doing their assigned tasks is a rare thing, then there's a lot to be learned about what really goes on in the prison system. As for these checks, it involves visual checks not going into the cell and inspecting up close. So a 15-or 30-minute check merely means the guard glances into the small window of the cell and visualizes the inmate in there.

When I worked with the jail population, I can't tell you how many times at night I'd caught guards snoring in deep sleep while they were supposed to be on duty.

Why in the world would #BlindBarr want to visit Epstein? I assume this visit was not in his cell so maybe it was recorded?

by Anonymousreply 92August 11, 2019 6:54 PM

My guess- they refused to declare Epstein dead in the cell so they wouldn't have to take pictures at the scene of the death, which is required when an unwitnessed death takes place. . Instead , they said he was "unresponsive" so they coukd rush him to the hospital and arrange the cell to their liking.

JE is not an entirely sane person. What sane person would believe in transhumanism and want to preserve his head and penis after death or want to populate earth with his DNA? Mentally-unstable people are also prone to suicide, especially when experiencing situational stressors, I'd say being thrown in jail and knowing the gig is up count as major stressors.

by Anonymousreply 100August 11, 2019 7:45 PM

The biggest factor here that the wet blankets are ignoring, is the calling off of the suicide watch and a relaxed attitude toward the prisoner. And their supposed failure to tell the Justice Department about that decision. (Wonder how true that last tidbit is.) But obviously, decisions were made by the prison warden or someone else that were alarming, to say the least. And a decision that was contrary to regular protocol.

by Anonymousreply 101August 11, 2019 7:53 PM

R101 Suicide watch is not a decision made by the warden or officers alone. Decisions like that are made with a multidisciplinary team including officers/ guards, superintendent/ warden, psychologists, psychiatric medical team (MD, NP, RN), and social workers. These are the people who staff jails. For an inmate who recently attempted suicide or any sort of self-harm, he/ she is sectioned off for at least 72 hours then after that assessed for stability to be released back to medical or other types of units befitting his/ her needs. It's the dumbass politicians and people who rush to judgment not knowing how the jail system works that's annoying when talking about this story.

As for people sneaking into jail and offing JE, sorry not that easy. If people knew how hard it is to sneak into jail, they wouldn't be talking about it like I'm seeing here. First, you go into the building and go through security check very similar to flight boarding checkpoints. Then once inside the actual lobby, you go through another check point with police officers asking why you're there. Then they let you go through another checkpoint where you get scanned again before passing through. Now you're on the other side e.g. the elevators that will take you to the floors where the jails are located. You then get buzzed in again by another checkpoint via camera where another officer sees you and buzzes the steel door open to let you to the actual elevators. You go on the elevator and get off on the floors where the inmates are located. Get off from elevator only to meet another checkpoint with officers asking you why you're visiting as approved personnel. Granted if you work there and they know you then they just ask you which unit you want to be buzzed in or which inmate you're seeing. All of this I had to go through as credentialed medical staff.

by Anonymousreply 102August 11, 2019 8:20 PM

by Anonymousreply 105August 11, 2019 8:29 PM

Prison guards are purchased every day.

by Anonymousreply 106August 11, 2019 8:30 PM

Every visitor even attorneys go through the same process to get into the jail units. There are cameras everywhere from checkpoints to inside the jail, you can definitely see who goes in and out of each individual jail cell.

by Anonymousreply 107August 11, 2019 8:32 PM

I remember reading an article that according to inmates, Jeff was always asking for toilet paper, and he was depositing money into accounts of other inmates...writing down their numbers etc.

by Anonymousreply 108August 11, 2019 8:40 PM

There are many crooked guards on the inside.

by Anonymousreply 109August 11, 2019 8:40 PM

Prison surveillance cameras are hard to tamper with, they have extra layer of protection from control outside of prison. Like any correctional officer is going to go up to the cameras (which are mounted high) using a ladder and try to disable it, even if he does that he'd be caught on camera just before it's occluded. That, and the fact that he'd be captured by other cameras filming him doing it.

by Anonymousreply 110August 11, 2019 8:57 PM

by Anonymousreply 112August 11, 2019 9:04 PM

Barr's visit right before Epstein's first possible attack/suicide is curious. The timing of it. Did they plan something? Or did Barr make him an offer he couldn't refuse?

I think Epstein has more financial damaging dirt on Trump stashed somewhere. Maybe Barr wanted to know where the hell to find the documentation? Or wondered if there is more.

by Anonymousreply 116August 11, 2019 9:14 PM

Maybe they didn't find what they were looking for in Epstein's vault, so Barr went to his cell to ask him where other shit is stashed....

by Anonymousreply 117August 11, 2019 9:17 PM

R113 The cell itself e.g. inside the cell is not monitored via camera. Only the outside of the cell so that you can see who goes in and who goes out, that's the protocol. There are no cameras that record each individual cell. There are cameras everywhere outside of the cell, anyone outside of the cell is captured on camera even on elevators.

Maxwell once gave George Clooney a blow job in the toilet.

The woman accused of recruiting young girls for the US financier perv is claimed to have boasted about performing a sex act on the screen idol in a toilet.

He was named by ex-Epstein “sex slave” Virginia Giuffre in a manuscript of her memoirs released by a New York court.

Virginia says socialite Ghislaine Maxwell boasted about it during a globe-trotting trip they both made with Maxwell in 2001 which culminated in her meeting Prince Andrew for the first time in London.

Virginia wrote: “Always the instigator of a good joke but unable to take one herself she didn’t like when poked back that it was more in her recent taste of men, since she loved to brag about her rendezvous with her various lovers.

“Once she came back giddy as a schoolgirl with an explosion of news, with all the build up and excitement in her voice you’d think she was the next crown princess, but she had given George Clooney a b*** job in the bathroom at some random event, she never let that one down.”

It is not known when the alleged incident between Maxwell and Clooney may have taken place.

But Virginia recounted Maxwell’s boasting about it during a globe-trotting trip they both made with Maxwell in 2001 which culminated in her meeting Prince Andrew for the first time in London.

There is no suggestion that Clooney was involved in under-age sex or sex parties held by billionaire Epstein or involved in any wrongdoing. Virginia’s manuscript, which she drafted in 2011, featured in a defamation court case she fought against Maxwell.

Lawyer’s for both sides had said it was “fictionalised”. But it was released on Friday, along with documents implicating Prince Andrew.

Representatives for Clooney, now married to British barrister Amal Clooney, 41, and lawyers for Maxwell have so far failed to comment.

Epstein, 66, died on Saturday in a Manhattan jail, where he was being held on sex trafficking charges.

by Anonymousreply 130August 11, 2019 10:53 PM

The jail where Jeffrey Epstein apparently hanged himself was a nest of corruption in the early ’90s, according to one of late mobster John Gotti Sr.’s top associates — who insists it’s still a place where almost anything can be bought if you have the bucks.

“If he killed himself someone had to have helped him,” said Lewis Kasman, a onetime close confidant of the Dapper Don who visited the godfather several times at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in 1992.

“There are cameras going 24/7 and they’re watching 24/7. Someone had to give [Epstein] the equipment to kill himself and he had to pay for it dearly,” said Kasman, who has kept abreast of conditions in the lockup.

Kasman added: “That facility for years had issues of corruption, with correction officers bringing in food or cellphones for wealthy people.”

The former Gambino bean counter noted that Gotti, who did time both in the jail’s 9 South and 10 South units, its most secure wings, still managed to get his favorite steak dinner sneaked in: “He had Peter Luger’s whenever he wanted.”

Kasman said he heard US Attorney General William Barr personally made a hush-hush trip to the MCC two weeks ago, about the time Epstein was found in his cell with bruises around his neck.

“When does that happen?” he asked. “The attorney general never visits jails. Something’s not right there.”

Kasman said the facility was “totally disgusting — worse than Guantanamo Bay.”

“There are roaches crawling all over you — in every orifice — when you sleep. The Bureau of Prisons’ answer to that is that they can’t spray. It’s toxic.”

Reps for the jail did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

by Anonymousreply 135August 11, 2019 11:18 PM

I predicted when Epstein first landed in jail that this would end in a "suicide." It would be interesting to see statistics on prison suicides. And even more interesting to see statistics on prison suicides after a failed first suicide attempt. I don't think for a minute that Trump/Barr/FBI/CIA weren't involved. Very similar to Kennedy assassination where the shooter ends up dead. Dead men don't talk. I have to think Cohen, Gates and Manafort have to be scared and probably Flynn as well.

by Anonymousreply 136August 11, 2019 11:23 PM

R136 The statistic for prison suicides is higher than general population, and this is due to the fact that inmates have higher than average rates of mental illness or problems resulting from lower-socioeconomic status. As for the rate of suicide within subset inmate groups, the highest percentage is with inmates who are awaiting trial or recently jailed inmates, many get more psychotic or dysregulated from being in jail and they make rash decisions.

by Anonymousreply 137August 11, 2019 11:30 PM

The DailyKos story at r128 makes an interesting point that as a narcissist, Epstein would be furious that all his powerful friends couldn't/wouldn't even help him get bail, not to mention getting a sweetheart deal like he had before, so he would be looking forward to dragging them through the mud in revenge.

There's also a quote from some society dame who claimed after his Florida release that the general feeling was that he was the victim of greedy, unscrupulous teens looking for a payout.

Burn it down. Burn it all down.

Jeffrey Epstein allegedly had a secret diary that contained information about his friendships with powerful people which he kept as an 'insurance policy.'

Pedophile Epstein - who palled around with notables including Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump - was said to have kept a 'meticulously detailed' diary of his many friendships with the rich and famous, according to the Mirror.

Sources told the newspaper that Epstein, a convicted sex offender who faced federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York, kept the diary as a form of insurance.

It's existence supposedly became known when Epstein's alleged victims' lawyers obtained a statement from Prince Andrew as part of US authorities' investigations.

FRIEND: "So, a rich pimp, what's the big deal?"

ME: "Well, he was a friend and neighbor of Trump and they raped kids together."

FRIEND: "She probably just wants money, why is she coming forward now".

ME: "He's already been convicted. The investigation has been going on for more than 10 years, and there are hundreds of witnesses.

Also, the guy claimed to be a billionaire like Trump and it turns out that he was a blackmailer, fraudster along with being a pedophile rapist. In fact, there is reason to suspect that he financed MAR-A-LAGO with money that he got from Saudia Arabia.

FRIEND: "Sounds, like bullshit to me. If it were that bad, we would have known' about it before".

ME: "Maybe, you're right. Can I borrow your vape pen? "

The medical examiner is confident that JE died by suicide and is awaiting corroborating evidence from law enforcement. This means that there are video evidence showing who, if anyone, went into JE's cell and at what time did anyone last went inside. The 30-minute checks are only visual checks, and this involves merely walking by the cell and peeking into the small window at the top of each door. So it should be pretty easy to determine that JE was the only person inside his cell for whatever number of hours before estimated time of death.

by Anonymousreply 178August 12, 2019 10:49 PM

R174, You do realize that the medical examiner for JE was the exact same one for Martin Luther King, Jr and JFK, right?

by Anonymousreply 179August 12, 2019 10:50 PM

The security footage can be edited. If they want, they can do whatever the fuck they want, they can show santa clause visiting Epstein before his death.

So many reports of other inmates getting illegal things into jail...steaks, cell phones, etc. Now, do you think there are video evidence of these "crimes"...it's been going on for years!

by Anonymousreply 180August 12, 2019 10:52 PM

R178 it's definitely odd.

by Anonymousreply 181August 12, 2019 10:53 PM

R176 I found that too earlier today - not sure it leads anywhere.

by Anonymousreply 182August 12, 2019 11:01 PM

R177 I worked in jail system until 2 years ago on the medical/ psych team. I'm going by factual evidence instead of the rampant speculations I see here that are not based on reality. It will be a combination of video evidence and autopsy results that officially determine cause of death.

R180 No the video evidence have built-in control systems from inside and outside of jail. I don't know what you're smoking. Also, I do believe there were rampant fraud inside with bribes and sneaking into jail food and other illegal substances. But that is inherently easier than sneaking into individual cell to off someone. Not saying it's not possible for JE to be victim of murder, but it would take a conspiratorial plot involving all levels of the jail system, outside surveillance company contracted with the jail, and of course all that would have to match physiological evidence from autopsy. Stomach contents, other signs of time of death, etc... What I see here is a lot of "facts" that have nothing to do with actual facts.

by Anonymousreply 186August 13, 2019 12:41 AM

R183 You sound a bit like all the naysayers that tried to poke holes in the theory that Trump was tied to Russia and had "assistance" in winning the presidency. In the early days, much of the real work was done by citizen journalists until the MSM finally caught on. I can remember the outrage about Buzzfeed publishing the Steel Dossier. MSNBC and CNN went bat-shit crazy on them accusing them of shady journalism. Now they both regularly cite the Steel Dossier as "most factual." Citizen journalists will also have to take the lead on this as DOJ/FBI/CIA are compromised by Trump and Barr. I think times have changed with the internet and there are too many sophisticated and bright people with a platform for the government to get away with another coverup like JFK assassination.

by Anonymousreply 187August 13, 2019 12:42 AM

R187 Good try. I fully believe Trump is linked to Russia and definitely Russian interference had a role in HC being defeated. Good try at deflecting though.

by Anonymousreply 188August 13, 2019 12:52 AM

R187, YOU are the one who is trying to link HRC to Epstein's suicide, not R183 / R188.

by Anonymousreply 189August 13, 2019 1:10 AM

Innocent until proven dead.

by Anonymousreply 190August 13, 2019 4:38 AM

Autopsy is being altered by Barr, who is of course spinning everything. Proves nothing anyway. A person could have been in the cell and strangle him with a bedsheet. No doubt also that Ghouliani's corrupt NY FBI field office is controlling what is or is not evidence. That unit is completely compromised. The mere fact that Barr inserted FBI oversight is proof of evidence tampering since he should've recused himself. I hope the SDNY gets everything first.

R210, New York City Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson says an autopsy was carried out Sunday, and that it produced inconclusive results that require additional investigation. A private pathologist—Dr. Michael Baden—was hired to observe on behalf of Epstein’s “representatives,” a move Dr. Sampson said was routine under the circumstances.

Baden previously held Sampson’s job more than 40 years ago and has participated in a number of high-profile death investigations. He also chaired the forensic pathology panel that investigated the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

by Anonymousreply 213August 13, 2019 3:05 PM

Thank God Michael Baden was hired! Otherwise we would already have the confirmation from Barr that Epstein did commit suicide that night! Bill Barr and Dump must be fuming right now. Probably the reason why Dump had to leave Twitter for 3 days.

by Anonymousreply 214August 13, 2019 3:09 PM

Interesting R212. Not surprised that Trump lied about cutting ties with Epstein in 2004. Not surprised that Trump, angry over a bidding war with Epstein, that a mysterious "someone" dropped a dime on him. Not surprised that Trump has held a grudge over this for years and suddenly Epstein is arrested and ends up dead. And I certainly won't be surprised to know that Trump is behind all of this.

by Anonymousreply 215August 13, 2019 3:15 PM

I think Clinton connection is money. Epstein probably donated a lot to the foundation.

Also, you do not know that Clinton went to the Island for the women. Epstein could have said, weather sucks in NY, let's go to my sunny Island to talk more about this etc. and when Bill shows up, there are young women there etc...set up.

by Anonymousreply 216August 13, 2019 3:20 PM

In the "background" article that journo posted, stating it was ok to publish coz Epstein died, Epstein claimed to have damaging info on many celebs/people.

I hope the FBI found the diary and it won't be destroyed...I don't trust Barr.

4Chan had news of Jeffrey Epstein death way ahead of every one else!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 223August 13, 2019 5:35 PM

The New York City Fire Department looked into whether a first responder posted about Jeffrey Epstein’s death on a notorious internet message board prior to officials announcing it to the public, BuzzFeed News has learned.

Shortly after telling BuzzFeed News the post was "under review," an FDNY spokesperson said authorities "determined this alleged information did not come from the Fire Department." The spokesperson did not elaborate on how that determination was made.

Almost 40 minutes before ABC News first reported Epstein’s death on Twitter, someone posted still-unverified details on 4chan, the anonymous message board popular with far-right trolls and white nationalists.

“[D]ont ask me how I know, but Epstein died an hour ago from hanging, cardiac arrest. Screencap this,” read the post, which was published at 8:16 a.m. alongside an image of Pepe, the green frog that has become a mascot for right-wing internet trolls.

That message was posted 38 minutes before the first tweet about Epstein’s death from Aaron Katersky, an ABC News reporter, at 8:54 a.m. Five minutes later, the main ABC News account tweeted an article about Epstein's death.

After publishing the post, other 4chan users egged on the author. When they expressed doubt, the original poster added more information to the discussion thread, including a detailed breakdown of the procedures allegedly used to resuscitate Epstein, which suggest the poster may have been a first responder, medical worker, or otherwise privy to details about efforts to resuscitate the disgraced financier.

Frank Dwyer, an FDNY spokesperson, told BuzzFeed News he “could not verify the accuracy” of information in the 4chan post. But he said any medical professional who divulges patient information without consent is in violation of a federal health privacy law, HIPAA, and that FDNY would look into it.

“The department will review this incident,” he said at the time. The FDNY later said that it "is reviewing this incident, there is no investigation" — but would not describe the difference between a review and investigation.

Oren Barzilay, the president of the union for EMT workers Local 2507 in New York, said, “our members do not release this type of confidential information, this looks like a 3rd party info.” Barzilay also told BuzzFeed News the union would investigate the potential breach of confidentiality “if such a claim came forward.”

“There are serious consequences for those violations. Discipline. Suspensions. Civil penalties, etc,” Barzilay said in an email.

by Anonymousreply 224August 13, 2019 5:42 PM

The medical examiner's office and the Metropolitan Correctional Center both declined to comment. Spokespeople for the New York-Presbyterian Hospital have not responded to repeated emails and calls requesting comment.

The full details of Epstein’s death won’t be known until the final coroner’s report is released, meaning the 4chan post laying out the alleged treatment he received cannot be fully verified. An EMS expert contacted by BuzzFeed News said the details in the post are consistent with standard practices. Information released by the Federal Bureau of Prisons also appears to line up with some of what was posted on 4chan.

Dr. Keith Wesley, an emergency medicine physician who has authored several EMS textbooks and articles, viewed the 4chan post at BuzzFeed News’ request and said it lays out standard procedures for paramedics.

“This sounds like standard American Heart Association guidelines, which most EMS agencies use,” Wesley said.

Part of the post refers to “telemetry advised bicarb.” According to Wesley, this could mean the first responders were also speaking with the hospital as they were trying to resuscitate their patient.

Screenshot 4chan “Telemetry implies the paramedics were in contact with a medical control hospital who then gave orders to give Sodium Bicarbonate, bicarb which is designed to reverse the acid buildup in the blood from prolonged cardiac arrest,” Wesley said in an email.

“If one of the medics posted this separately that’s a breach of protocol,” he added. “If there was identifying information on the patient, that is a violation of federal HIPPA law.”

The 4chan user made six posts about Epstein’s death. One of them claimed that attempts to resuscitate Epstein were made for 40 minutes before he was transported to the hospital, at which point medical personnel tried to revive him for another 20 minutes. Those details are at least partially consistent with the information regarding Epstein’s death that has been publicly released by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

“Pt transported to Lower Manhattan ER and worked for 20 minutes and called. Hospital administrator was alerted, preparing statements,” said the 4chan post. “Staff requested emergency medical services (EMS) and life-saving efforts continued,” said a statement released by the Department of Justice’s Federal Bureau of Prisons on Saturday. “Mr. Epstein was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, and subsequently pronounced dead by hospital staff.”

It’s not clear who posted the news of Epstein’s death on 4chan, but first responders and hospital staff would have access to the information laid out in the post.

The reaction of 4chan to the news was explosive. Some users didn’t believe the author while others launched straight into conspiracy theories that have since engulfed news of Epstein’s death.

The 4chan thread was first found by Konrad Iturbe, a developer based in Barcelona who was researching conspiracies surrounding Epstein online. “That'll keep the conspiracies forever!” Iturbe said about the 4chan posts.

by Anonymousreply 225August 13, 2019 5:43 PM

Both Clinton and Trump took the Lolita Express. Both of them. Both had a lot to lose if he lived. But since Trump is saying the Clintons were involved in his death it was really Trump. Because that is how Trump works. He is deflecting. The Clintons must be relieved he is dead but everyone knows Bill and the public wouldn't be too surprised if he spent most of his spare time on the island with underage girls. He has that reputation, as does Trump. Seriously, he does. But Trump wants to win another 4 years, so Epstein was more problematic with his Christian base.

AP: Justice Department says 2 guards assigned to watch Jeffrey Epstein placed on leave; warden is temporarily reassigned.

by Anonymousreply 228August 13, 2019 7:45 PM

NYT's Alan Rappeport:

Trump on Clinton/Jeffrey Epstein: "The question you have to ask is, did Bill Clinton go to the island...if you find that out, you're going to know a lot."

by Anonymousreply 229August 13, 2019 7:51 PM

Actually, NASCAR driver Brian Vickers 's wife (Sarah Kellen) has an Epstein connection. She goes by the name Sarah Kensington now (SLK designs). But she was one of Epstein's former assistants. She's in the indictments as booking his "massage" appointments.

by Anonymousreply 230August 13, 2019 7:51 PM

R213 Thanks. I just looked him up, he's 85!

by Anonymousreply 231August 13, 2019 8:06 PM

Kellen was asked by a lawyer: 'Would you agree with me that Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein used to share under-aged girls for sexual relations?'

She replied: 'On the instruction of my lawyer, I must invoke my Fifth Amendment privilege.'

by Anonymousreply 232August 13, 2019 8:49 PM

Have they stated what the screaming/shrieking/yelling from Epstein's cell was about on the morning of the day he died?

by Anonymousreply 233August 13, 2019 8:51 PM

R233 My guess is that it's hard to get someone to agree to be hung by a sheet until they are dead. But that's an uneducated guess.

by Anonymousreply 234August 13, 2019 9:33 PM

So throw the warden under the bus and we all move on?

by Anonymousreply 235August 13, 2019 9:49 PM

A private pathologist—Dr. Michael Baden—was hired to observe on behalf of Epstein’s “representatives,” a move Dr. Sampson said was routine under the circumstances.

He is 85 years old and a regular Fox contributor. Seems a bit like the Stennis Compromise where Nixon allowed John C. Stennis, the deaf and elderly senator from Mississippi to listen to his tapes and provide an overview.

Nothing to see or hear says the 85 year old man...

by Anonymousreply 236August 13, 2019 10:27 PM

I won't be surprised to see some other famous people suffer unfortunate deaths over this. Bill Clinton doesn't look the healthiest. Alan Dersowitz and Wexler are both elderly as well.

by Anonymousreply 237August 14, 2019 4:22 AM

I think *nothing* will come of this. Which is unbelievable!!!!!! But it will all be behind the curtain. It’s so strange, it does feel very, “pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!” Like we were never meant to see or know all of this.

On one of these threads, a link alluded to her father being kinky too, but I so far can’t find more on that. Any thoughts? I have no idea if the implication was incest, whores, bi or group sex, drag....idk. The pictures of her with him do look slightly creepy.

by Anonymousreply 244August 14, 2019 7:48 AM

Epstein was murdered. To many coinkedinkies have occurred. Barr & Trump put a hit out. Epstein, a narcissistic man with means would be busy mounting a strong defense. No way would he off himself, after all he wasn't a killer. Are you kidding? Epstein wanted to have his body and dick preserved for future use. Does anyone honestly believe he would let his superior body rot in jail and become dissected and then hastily cremated. Just watch, at some later date, we will be informed by Barr/DOJ that through some mishap/misunderstanding that Epstein's body was cremated out of respect to his family/victims.

Bill Barr should recuse himself, but Dump has a firm grip on his balls and his family as well. FBI ( New York) works for Ghouliani. Chris Cuomo freaking out because many powerful people of NYC are caught up the web.

by Anonymousreply 245August 14, 2019 8:04 AM

did you know that Epstein's only living relative is a Brother?? if you were going to inherit all of Epstein's money would you be able to take it?

by Anonymousreply 246August 14, 2019 10:39 AM

Epstein was 66 years old, knew he was guilty as fuck and was going to have to spend the rest of his life in prison and/or embroiled in law suits. He was also a stone cold sex addict deprived of his supply and placed in one of the shittiest prisons in the world. The case for suicide is pretty strong.

by Anonymousreply 247August 14, 2019 11:58 AM

R247 I believe that you believe that, however I think the case for murder is MUCH stronger.

by Anonymousreply 248August 14, 2019 2:43 PM

Whatever happened, and I really do mean WHATEVER happened (murder, suicide, disappearance), it leaves little hope in the justice system.

by Anonymousreply 249August 14, 2019 2:58 PM

Unless we see some hard proof beyond the tinfoil hat conspiracy theories I'll go with suicide for the reasons laid out by r247 and others. I don't rule out murder but it's down the list.

The case kind of reminds me of Abe Reles who certainly was murdered by his police guards before he could testify against Anastasia. But that didn't mean DA Thomas Dewey or FDR were behind the killing.

by Anonymousreply 250August 14, 2019 3:12 PM

Don't be surprised if we're told Epstein has cremated himself. The number of mishaps so far is unnerving.

by Anonymousreply 251August 14, 2019 3:34 PM

R251, I'd like to know exactly how many people were allowed to see Epstein's supposedly dead body to verify that it was actually him. Don't trust the brother to be 100% honest as he'd be the type to lie if he knew JE's was disappeared deep under cover.

by Anonymousreply 252August 14, 2019 4:13 PM

Government has lied to the public for a number of years. There is surprising new evidence that John Wilkes Booth did not die in a barn fire but rather lived out his life in Texas and Oklahoma. Don't for a minute believe anything that government/Barr's DOJ is saying about this "apparent suicide."

These boys are all very worried about their masculinity...

by Anonymousreply 256August 14, 2019 8:28 PM

Well that's attractive, R254.

by Anonymousreply 257August 14, 2019 8:29 PM

I think Epstein offed himself alright.

But that yelling and screaming was him realizing the jig was up and he could either hang himself or be loosed into general pop "accidentally".

Someone had a long, cold talk with egg dick and laid out his options. Hence the screaming. He was terrified and begging for his life. It didn't work.

He was told by someone who came to visit him that night, "You can do this yourself or you can meet with an "untimely death" by other means."

"If you are still alive at 6am, we will "accidentally" leave your cell open for some prison justice. Your choice, eggy. Choose wisely."

by Anonymousreply 258August 14, 2019 8:36 PM

"Besides a couple affairs in the '90s with ADULT women, Bill Clinton has never been linked to anything else of a sexual nature."

"A couple"? Limited to the "the '90s"? Really? And to describe Clinton's varied and sundry ruttings as "affairs"? LOL. Honey, we're not talking about Cary Grant or David Niven here. No, he's not a pedophile, but come on...

by Anonymousreply 262August 14, 2019 9:26 PM

I said that he wasn't a pedophile, R262. Not that he was "a step above" one, but that he WASN'T one, period. In that, we are in agreement. But since almost no one DOES believe that Clinton is a pedophile-- having seen endless evidence of his many, many adult female partners-- why the charade of pretending that he's some kind of unfairly accused family man? No one believes that, either.

by Anonymousreply 264August 14, 2019 9:57 PM

R264, from the grave?

by Anonymousreply 265August 14, 2019 10:06 PM

R263 — I think you misunderstand. No, we are not in agreement. Your description of BC’s “ruttings” was dripping with veiled criminality, but I don’t believe that they were anything more than affairs. I also don’t see the world in black and white — a man (or woman) who is sexually promiscuous is often just that, it doesn’t have to be darker than that.

And while it is undoubtedly quite interesting that this painting appeared, I also don’t find it any more remarkable than JE stating that he and our President are “best friends.” We can go round and round and round, but let’s not? Obviously, JE was a criminal mastermind. Let’s not keep trying to measure if he was closer to Trump or Clinton, we’ve already established that he loved them all.

by Anonymousreply 266August 14, 2019 10:09 PM

[264] The Miami Herald makes you pay to read their articles. But their headline for the story is:

Epstein traveled to Cuba at Castro’s invitation, former Colombian president says

by Anonymousreply 267August 14, 2019 10:20 PM

Former Colombian President reads HMMM and decides to throw out a red herring.

by Anonymousreply 268August 14, 2019 10:25 PM

R267, Why would you think JE wouldn't have met Castro in Cuba? He obviously was very friendly with Russian mobsters throughout his adult lifetime.

by Anonymousreply 269August 14, 2019 11:00 PM

Here’s a link to a story, in which one of Epstein’s “next door neighbors” at MCC, describes conditions at the facility, to a judge.

MCC incarcerates some pretty highly profiled inmates. These are not just celebrities or high rollers, who got busted with child pornography, or who have been charged with statutory rape of minors, & trafficking of minors for the purpose of sex work.

I’m no Federal Corrections Officer, but aren’t these employees trained above & beyond the scope of training required by state(s) corrections facilities?

Just exactly how does someone smuggle in cellphones to a former CIA Software Engineer, who is being held due to alleged espionage acts, specifically ones in which he allegedly dumped TONS of information/data, which was considered to be sensitive and highly classified? And just how does this guy allegedly get away with continuing alleged data dumps, from inside of the federal prison in which he is being held?

Is it just me, or am I wrong to assume that a place that was designated to incarcerate Mexico’s very own “Houdini”, and cartel boss, El Chapo, should not only be staffed with beyond competent personnel, , but also have top of the line surveillance equipment in every nook & cranny of the building? Are people not being x-rayed before entering, like at airports?

What the fuck is going on in this place? And how can the DOJ justify keeping alleged criminals incarcerated in this dump, where employees are overworked and understaffed, ESPECIALLY when the alleged criminals are deemed to be active threats to national security???

And please understand this, & allow me to be crystal clear: the ONLY way a former CIA employee who is being held on charges of espionage, got cellphones in which he was able to encrypt communications from this prison in particular to others outside of this prison, is if he got the phones from the staff.

This “detention center” sounds like a place where almost anything goes. Almost like Vegas, for very specific types of federal inmates!

Somewhere, perhaps spread around the globe, Jeffrey Epstein claimed he had $559 million worth of assets just before he died in an apparent suicide on Saturday.

With every passing hour, more people are laying claim to a piece of the fortune that the financier and sex offender said he had amassed. They are elderly retirees trying to recoup losses they incurred when they invested their life savings in bonds and notes Epstein allegedly sold as part of a $470 million scam a quarter century ago. They are women, mostly now in their 30s, who as teenagers say they were recruited and paid to give massages to Epstein — encounters they say quickly turned into sexual abuse.

They are all likely to have to wait in a very long and winding queue.

Some of those women now see Epstein’s estate as the path toward closure — one alleged victim, Jennifer Araoz, on Wednesday called her quest for Epstein’s money “my first step toward reclaiming my power.”

But the many competing claims will quickly crash into the messy and protracted reality of a contested probate and a federal investigation.

Starting immediately after the announcement of Epstein’s death by hanging in a federal prison cell in New York, alleged victims of the 66-year-old convicted sex offender began arguing that the only remaining ways they can get justice are to sue the women who they say enabled Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking operation and to sue Epstein’s estate, seeking a share of his money.

[Epstein’s accusers still deserve justice and will go after his alleged enablers, their lawyers say]

“The pursuit of justice doesn’t end,” said Dan Kaiser, an attorney representing Araoz, a New York woman who on Wednesday sued Epstein’s estate, longtime Epstein friend and business associate Ghislaine Maxwell and three unnamed women who also allegedly recruited and groomed girls for Epstein. “It begins now.”

As prosecutors announced that they are shifting their investigation to look at co-conspirators who enabled Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking ring, attention has focused on Maxwell. Although she has remained publicly silent, neighbors and acquaintances interviewed Wednesday said she appeared to have been living quietly with a friend, Scott Borgerson, in a secluded mansion in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass., an oceanfront town north of Boston. Borgerson, who did not return messages, denied to the Axios news site that Maxwell was at his house.

Maxwell could not be located Wednesday and her attorneys did not respond to requests for comment. Despite accusations by some of the women Epstein allegedly abused, Maxwell has long denied that she took part in or knew about any sexual misdeeds.

Maxwell could not be located Wednesday and her attorneys did not respond to requests for comment. Despite accusations by some of the women Epstein allegedly abused, Maxwell has long denied that she took part in or knew about any sexual misdeeds.

Araoz said in her suit that in 2001, when she was a 14-year-old freshman studying musical theater at New York’s Talent Unlimited High School, a young woman serving as Epstein’s recruiter invited her to his Manhattan mansion. There, Epstein allegedly paid her $300 per visit and promised to guide her into a career as a model or actress. But conversations over time turned to nude massages, which then became a year of once- or twice-weekly episodes of “abusive sexual assaults,” including a rape, the lawsuit alleged.

Kaiser said Araoz’s suit aims “to hold accountable wealth and power,” including the “elite and the plutocrats,” the politicians and business leaders who have been accused of participating in Epstein’s alleged sexual abuse of teens.

But Kaiser conceded that Epstein may well have hidden his assets in places where it will be difficult for U.S. claimants to reach them. “He took efforts in recent years to conceal his money,” the lawyer said.

In a summary of his assets that Epstein provided to a federal court in New York last month, he said he had $559 million, including $195 million in hedge funds and private equity investments, $112 million in stocks and bonds, $57 million in cash and more than $180 million worth of properties.

Autopsy shoes Epstein had broken bones in his neck. Which usually indicates strangulation not hanging. See article at wash post. Homicide not suicide

by Anonymousreply 280August 15, 2019 4:06 AM

*shows not shoes. I need to go to bed I’m tired. But this looks more suspicious by the day.

by Anonymousreply 281August 15, 2019 4:08 AM

R280 The autopsy report is out?

by Anonymousreply 282August 15, 2019 4:14 AM

From WaPo: apparently there are leaks about the autopsy.

[quote]An autopsy found that financier Jeffrey Epstein sustained multiple breaks in his neck bones, according to two people familiar with the findings, deepening the mystery about the circumstances around his death.

[quote]Among the bones broken in Epstein’s neck was the hyoid bone, which in men is near the Adam’s apple. Such breaks can occur in those who hang themselves, particularly if they are older, according to forensics experts and studies on the subject. But they are more common in victims of homicide by strangulation, the experts said.

by Anonymousreply 283August 15, 2019 4:18 AM

the article

by Anonymousreply 284August 15, 2019 4:20 AM

[quote]Jonathan L. Arden, president of the National Association of Medical Examiners, said a hyoid can be broken in many circumstances, but is more commonly associated with homicidal strangulation than suicidal hanging.

[quote]Arden, who was not involved in the Epstein autopsy, said that in general, a finding of a broken hyoid requires pathologists to conduct more extensive investigation. That investigation can include analysis of the location of the noose, how narrow the noose is, and if the body experienced any substantial drop in the course of the hanging.

[quote]The age of the deceased is also important, Arden said. The hyoid starts out as three small bones with joint-like connections but hardens during middle age into a u-shape that can break more easily.

[quote]“If, hypothetically, the hyoid bone is broken, that would generally raise questions about strangulation, but it is not definitive and does not exclude suicidal hanging,” he said.

by Anonymousreply 285August 15, 2019 4:25 AM

R284: Yep. He was strangled then hung to make it look like suicide.

by Anonymousreply 290August 15, 2019 5:23 AM

Really now...there is just too much evidence against this being a straight-up suicide. Either Epstein paid big bucks to bribe guards to let him do this, OR someone set him up. Maybe the key is finding out the circumstances of the first attempt. What did Epstein say to his attorneys about it? Perhaps the fact that Epstein's defense lawyers hired their own attorneys to defend themselves is telling.

by Anonymousreply 291August 15, 2019 8:46 AM

by Anonymousreply 293August 15, 2019 1:04 PM

So I take those bones are in the front of the neck, by the thyroid, where a strangler would use his thumbs?

I wonder if Barr visited more than one prisoner during his secret visit?

by Anonymousreply 296August 15, 2019 4:29 PM

R293, Barr and others in the media were so quick to claim it was suicide to deflect from the truth. Barr had to know JE was switched out. The man on the stretcher has completely different hair, inner ear structure from JE and was wearing the wrong colored jumpsuit. Plus the location of the photo is more inline with a fire and paramedic station than a prison, if you closely examine the walls and surrounding objects.

JFC, people who worked today are going to have a lot to catch up with.

Further ties between President Donald Trump and deceased alleged child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein were revealed on Thursday in a bombshell report in the Daily Mail.

“Donald Trump signed a highly complimentary letter of recommendation for the father of one of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex slaves, DailyMail.com can reveal. The president wrote the note for Virginia Roberts’ dad, Sky Roberts in 2003 after he worked at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida estate, as a maintenance man,” the British paper reported.

by Anonymousreply 304August 15, 2019 8:53 PM

by Anonymousreply 309August 15, 2019 9:11 PM

Maybe the first so-called attack/suicide attempt was really an attack that purposely didn't actually kill him. Reports were kind of murky as to what happened. He was attacked or tried to commit suicide or he somehow did it to get moved out of there. They said they found him unconscious. Was an ambulance called and did they take him to the hospital? Those photos we saw of a dead Epstein on the cot and the rescue squad, etc., could be from that event. Unconscious or dead? Red or brown prisoners suit? Bruised face.

by Anonymousreply 310August 15, 2019 9:25 PM

Interesting article from Forbes. Epstein would pay for his attorney's to stay with him for 8 hours a day. But one visit was a young female visitor in blouse and pants, with no files, who stayed with him for two hours. I would guess he paid some big money to several people for this visit.

R320, did it ever occur to you that Epstein was basically, wrapping it up, so to speak? Perhaps he was instructed to do so by his superiors, or perhaps, he did it in order to sell the island, or perhaps, it’s a false claim.

Epstein transferred all real estate that he did not sell to his brother. Only a few assets remained under his name.

He spent 12 hours a day meeting with his attorneys, while in MCC. This wasn’t done because he was lonely, & wanted to pass the time in their company. Nor was it done because he was scared.

Another CIA operative is currently being held in the same unit where Epstein was housed. He too, was given special privileges, until he stopped cooperating - allegedly.

I’ve said previously that all of this is a mirage. Nothing here is what we think it is, & almost everything we have been told, & are being told, is false. And the crazier the story becomes, the harder it becomes to make sense of it.

This story is not about Human trafficking. That is a very small part, because it was not as evolved and as prolific as most think. This story is about money, and controlling global markets and economies via small wars, political assassinations, global emerging markets, capturing and selling natural resources, the energy sector, controlling nuclear proliferation and armament of developing nations, and technology, banks, or when necessary, an exclusion of banks.

Look at the world around you. Attempt wearing a different set of “eyes” when you observe current events. Look at the current situation in Hong Kong, for example. What do you think that is REALLY about? It’s about the frustration of a citizenry, yes, but it is a controlled (for now) purposeful, negotiation tactic for MONEY, and who gets to call the shots as to how it is used, and by whom.

All of the pedo stuff is bullshit. No one with as wealthy as the people who Epstein associated with, need Epstein to access underaged girls. That’s not what Epstein was selling. Epstein was selling & buying POWER via strategic alliances and back channels, to people who would otherwise have no reason or desire to cross paths. And he did on behalf of a government or governments, because that’s where power resides.

by Anonymousreply 325August 16, 2019 11:37 AM

This story IS about HUMAN TRAFFICKING, and it is never small. The TRAFFICKING of LIFE, let alone HUMAN LIFE, is never a small matter. Using big abstract words like economy global etc to distract from how very real it all is - is just a DISTRACTION.

Sorry for the all caps but we need to look at what this really is. Making everything very abstract and incomprehensible is just a tactic to distract as much as possible from the human trafficking. It is disgusting to sell a living person, and it is right that the public should be shocked.

The rest is just a game for grown boys.

by Anonymousreply 326August 16, 2019 12:34 PM

R326, you’re an idiot if you think this story is going to bust up human trafficking rings, and you’re even a bigger idiot if you think this particular “story” is relevant or current to the human trafficking that exists right now.

If you’re so concerned and hysterical about human trafficking, why don’t you prove it, by voting for leaders who make genuine attempts to provide financial parity to many, rather than further enriching the ultra wealthy?

Your type always wants to screech about how corrupt men are exploiting children, yet mysteriously vote for the same people who enable such exploitation.

Are you American? Did you vote for Trump? Do you believe that President Trump is working tirelessly to stop the bloody stain that is human bondage, because QAnon or CDAN says so? Because understand the following: the First Lady of The United States of America was also sex trafficked and purchased, LITERALLY, for and by President Donald Trump.

I hope you understand that one of the most vile, pieces of shit who whores himself out to the highest bidder is now our President, and I also hope you understand is currently happening in this country and across Europe. ALL democracies are vulnerable to fascism, & sweetheart, we are well on our way, too.

I hope I’ve assumed incorrectly regarding your “politics “. If I have, I sincerely apologize. I mean that. However, if I have not, then fuck off.

by Anonymousreply 327August 16, 2019 1:19 PM

Don't worry. I still believe human trafficking is a huge issue and the power/money thing is... well, a means to get to the human trafficking (of women, children, and generally poor people). There is also the plundering of resources.

As for Trump, the American people were screwed by the electoral college and by the very convenient voting margins in a few swing states.

If one knows more about economy, I get that one is going to see things through an economic lens. It still doesn't divert from the human trafficking and say, the fact that in some countries women are not allowed to drive a car or leave the house without a guardian. Or young girls are discouraged from going to school.

As for wealth inequalities, I have this list taped to my kitchen table and actively boycott all that I can from the list.

Here we go, the CIA did it. Not buying any of this conspiratorial crap. Older men having sex with younger of age women is not ilegal, just distasteful to many. But if the young Women were forced or coerced in anyway whatsoever this is a completely different matter, and must be exposed and stopped. It's time all these powerful men who act like they are untouchable and can do what ever they want without consequence are shamed and brought to account. But they won't be. The likes of Prince Andrew are never, ever going to be questioned. Epstein's life as he liked it was over and he knew it. Nothing and nobody could get him out of this mess. Topping himself was a blessing. Far better than years of trials, shameful exposure and prison. He possibly saw the slips in efficiency and security around him and took advantage. Shame we're never going to hear the real truth about the curuption and dishonesty that went on. All everyone is concerned with now is how he died. What a smoke screen we're allowing to be created. Who gives a shit. He's dead. Uncovering the truth about what went on before prison should be the only concern. I'm already waiting for the day when people begin to side with him and say how tragic that he was so wrongfully murdered. Suicide. Just like Monroe sadly did it accidentally. No conspiracy..

Prosecutors in the US are seeking to interview a second British woman with links to Jeffrey Epstein, according to a new report.

Epstein’s accusers told investigators that Emmy Tayler was part of the convicted pedophile’s inner circle in the early 2000s, The Telegraph in the UK reported.

One of the alleged victims, Johanna Sjoberg, said Tayler once showed her how to massage Epstein at his mansion in Florida, according to court documents unsealed earlier this month.

“At that point, I met Emmy Taylor (sic), and she took me up to Jeffrey’s bathroom and he was present,” Sjoberg said in a deposition. “And her and I both massaged Jeffrey. She was showing me how to massage. And then she — he took — he got off the table, she got on the table. She took off her clothes, got on the table, and then he was showing me moves that he liked. And then I took my clothes off. They asked me to get on the table so I could feel it. Then they both massaged me.”

Tayler served as a personal assistant to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s girlfriend and alleged madam who victims said groomed them to become his sex slaves.

Sjoberg told lawyers that Maxwell referred to Tayler as “her slave,” according to the filing.

Flight logs indicate that she flew on Epstein’s so-called “Lolita Express” around the same time Epstein was allegedly trafficking girls and her name appeared in his “little black book” of contacts, The Telegraph said.

Tayler, the daughter of an Oxford University professor, came to the US with the dream of becoming a model or actress and met Maxwell in New York. Maxwell set the young woman up in a Florida apartment and promised to take care of her in exchange for running errands and doing paperwork.

Tayler, now 44, lives in Oxford and works as a voice-over artist.

She could not be reached for comment by The Telegraph.

Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein met with Microsoft founder Bill Gates more than once after serving time in jail for soliciting an underage prostitute — to discuss ways to increase philanthropic spending, according to a new report.

At least one meeting between the pair occurred in New York in 2013, when Gates was still Microsoft’s chairman, sources with direct knowledge of the matter told CNBC Wednesday. It was unclear whether the two men spoke on the phone.

The discussions occurred years after the millionaire money manager spent 13 months behind bars on a charge of soliciting an underage prostitute in Florida, according to the report. He was sentenced in Palm Beach County in 2008.

Although the sources told CNBC they did not know exactly what Gates and Epstein discussed, the meetings focused on “growing philanthropy” on a broader scale — and other philanthropic leaders were present, they said

Melania was definitely an Eastern European escort. Women would fuck Trump but no one would want to stay with him. He's a disgusting, piggy mental case and he's gotten worse as he's gotten older. I think Melania is very much on the spectrum and is dazzled by shiny items, like a crow is. She's as shallow and empty as Trump is and she agreed to be his full time escort-wife in return for all the clothes and jewels she could wear. She was no doubt told by her parents to demand a Trump child as well, so she would be guaranteed child support.

No doubt she never wanted Trump to win. It has cut into her life of shopping, accumulating shiny baubles, spa visits and multiple cosmetic procedures. I'm sure that, like Trump, Melania does not read and is not interested in information outside of her few interests. She doesn't speak French, Italian and German, as she claims. She has no degree. She barely speaks English. Though Ivana had a lot of friends even she was young and married to Trump, you never hear of Melania's friends. People who've met her say "she's nice." No one says, "I like her a lot." Or "she's a warm person" or a "loyal friend." Basically, she just exists and shops. She's capable of sustaining human communication in a very basic way for short periods of time. But you never hear that she loves opera or the symphony or is a patron of museums and the arts. She never had a charity she was passionate about. Trump set her up in business selling skin cream made out of caviar. That's pretty much Melania in a nutshell - skin cream made with overpriced fish eggs.

Btw, that's a thing Park Ave surgeons and dermatologists did for their wives. Set them up in a skin care business so that if they divorced, the sife would get the business which would be worth a certain amount of money, thereby letting the husband if the hook for some of the alimony & child support. Of course, after the divorce was final the husbands would raise the rent on the business and stop making referrals to their post op patients and the businesses would fail.

You'd have to be a shallow, soulless near-cretin to marry and stay with Donald Trump. Melania helped push the birther conspiracy and made other ridiculous assertions about Obama on television.

Some questions that remain unanswered:

- What does surveillance video show, which cameras were operational and do the logs of inmate checks match the video that exists?

- Who found Epstein: Was it a staffer making rounds delivering breakfast? Or did that staffer arrive to find someone already administering aid?

- Why was Epstein's cellmate moved out on Friday, the day before Epstein died?

- What were the two guards who were supposed to monitor Epstein doing during the hours before he was found? Were they napping or did they simply fail to make the required checks every 30 minutes?

by Anonymousreply 338August 16, 2019 5:41 PM

No way in hell did Emmy, @ R331, believe she had the makings of a “model”, so who was she, & why did she work with Ghislaine?

Anyone who came into the actual human trafficking, operation, was already a part of it previously, or a product of the trafficking themselves.

Personally, I don’t believe that this was Epstein’s main source of income. His biggest downfall was becoming sucker for his biggest weakness, which invariably became accessible to him as he circled the drain of it all. It’s like leaving a recovering alcoholic alone on a deserted island with endless bottles of booze, or a former obese person with twinkies.

Unless, of course, it’s more bullshit meant to further fog up the window.

And there’s this:

A Bureau of Prisons internal review this week includes a suicide reconstruction that officials say will look at everything from the first alleged suicide attempt last month to the decision to return Epstein to the Manhattan Correctional Center's special housing unit, where he died.

After the first incident, Bureau of Prisons officials determined that Epstein had tried to fake a suicide and they issued an infraction against him, which serves to put the event on his internal prison record, a person briefed on the matter said.

Millionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was able to buy two pairs of small women’s panties from a jail shop while serving time for sex offenses, according to bombshell new documents.

The convict bought two pairs of size 5 female underwear from Palm Beach County Jail’s shop in 2008 where he was serving time after pleading guilty to soliciting a minor for sex, according to jail logs.

The tiny panties were the most disturbing part of more than $2,000 the pedophile spent while incarcerated for 13 months, according to the records obtained by the Miami Herald.

Epstein, who killed himself in his Manhattan cell earlier this month while facing fresh charges, was able to buy the underwear because the stockade also holds items for female inmates, the paper states.

But it would surely raise questions as to why a convicted sex offender who wears sweatshirts ranging from XL to 3XL, and size-12 shoes, would want such small-sized female panties, the report stresses.

Epstein was allowed to leave the prison store in a chauffeur-driven car which took him to a downtown West Palm Beach office building for a 12-hour-a-day, six-day-a-week break from jail, according to the records where the convict was called a “client.”

He used that time to have sex with young women, a lawyer for some of the accusers has previously claimed.

The little time he spent inside jail, he would often have an unlocked cell door and almost unlimited access to a TV, according to the records, which showed him buying more than 800 cups of coffee.

The records show he had 69 doctors’ visits in six months — and so many chiropractor appointments he would sometimes go three times a week.

As well as being free to go to work, deputies were required to wear business suits and provide security for him, which he paid for, according to the Herald.

Capt. Mark Chamberlain noted Epstein’s “unusual means” on the day the pedophile reported to jail, according to the report.

“His financial status lends itself to his being victimized while in custody and as such, he has been placed in special management,” Chamberlain wrote in an email, according to the report.

“He is poorly versed in jail routine and society and his adjustment to incarceration will most likely be atypical. For the time being, I am authorizing that his cell door be left unlocked and he be given liberal access to the attorney room where a TV will be installed.”

It infuriated Assistant US Attorney A. Marie Villafaña complained that letting Epstein spend time in a private office “making telephone calls, web-surfing, and having food delivered to him is probably not in accordance with the objectives of imprisonment.”

The Miami Herald said Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office had not responded to the newly released records.

Jeffrey Epstein’s will has been filed in the US Virgin Islands, and it shows that he signed it Aug. 8 — two days before he hanged himself in his Manhattan jail cell, according to court papers exclusively obtained by The Post on Monday.

The multimillionaire convicted pedophile was worth $577,672,654, or about $18 million more than he previously stated in court papers when futilely trying to land bail on federal sex-trafficking charges, the new documents show.

The former hedge-fund manager put all of his holdings in a trust, called The 1953 Trust in court papers, after the year he was born.

The 21-page filing includes a copy of Epstein’s death certificate from Aug. 15, five days after his suicide — and lists “Immediate Cause: Pending Further Study.” The city Medical Examiner’s Office has since ruled that he killed himself.

The 66-year-old bachelor’s will was filed with court officials in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, where Epstein owned two islands worth a total of more than $86 million.

One of the secluded Caribbean isles, Little St. James Island, was dubbed “

There are no details on the trust’s beneficiaries. The court papers note that Epstein’s only potential heir was his brother, Mark Epstein. But the will adds that Mark only had a claim to his brother’s extensive holdings if Jeffrey hadn’t left behind the document.

Jeffrey’s list of holdings in the new documents mainly mirrors what his lawyers previously filed when seeking bail:

Cash: $56,547,773

Fixed income: $14,304,679

Equities: $112,679,138

Hedge funds and private equity: $194,986,301

Properties including: 9 E. 71st St., Manhattan, worth $55,931,000; 49 Zorro Ranch Road, Stanley, NM, $17,246,208; 358 El Brillo Way, Palm Beach, Fla., $12,380,209; 22 Avenue Foch, Paris, France, $8,672,823; Great St. James Island in the Virgin Islands, $22,498,600, and Little St. James Island, also there, $63,874,223.

But the new papers also include a line for “aviation assets, automobiles and boats,” a collection worth $18,551,700.

As for Epstein’s famous, eccentric, sex-drenched art collection — “fine arts, antiques, collectibles, valuables,” according to the papers — that still needs to be appraised.Pedophile Island” by locals who said they witnessed a parade of what looked like barely legal girls there.

I am not into conspiracy theories, and I do believe that Epstein killed himself, but if someone, somewhere, told me that he wasn’t really dead in the way that we specifically define “dead”, I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

Mr. Epstein spent his entire life, effortlessly sailing in and out of, what one might term “HIGHLY unlikely scenarios”, hence it would not be out of the realm of possibilities, for him to have sailed right into another one of those “highly unlikely scenarios”, upon exiting the MCC on a stretcher.

Meanwhile, the federal judge overseeing Epstein’s case has ordered a hearing next week before he dismisses the charges against the deceased financier. The decision is somewhat unusual, but U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman said he would allow Epstein’s alleged victims to speak at the hearing, as well as prosecutors and Epstein’s lawyers.

In a court filing Wednesday, Berman said that since the defendant “died before any judgment has been entered against him, the public may still have an informational interest in the process by which the prosecutor seeks dismissal of an indictment.”

Justice Department officials have pledged they will continue investigating, and could still bring charges against anyone found to have conspired with Epstein.

Billy is very busy burying any new information. Perhaps many below the radar people here in the US and abroad are being paid or disappeared. Barr came out of retirement for a reason and maybe Epstein was it. I sense that some of the well-connected caught wind of his imminent arrest and plotted a way to work around all of it, perhaps pulling off the greatest cover-up of all time. The question is still open as to exactly WHY did William Barr come out of retirement. The correct answer to that would very revealing and close many rabbit holes.

P.s. I would love it if we found out he is still alive.

This asshole’s dead, and another disgusting pig will take his place.

Thousands of girls are trafficked from Russia and Europe in UAE, specifically Dubai, every year. These are teens, not adults. No doubt children get trafficked into that area as well.

Older men from everywhere fly there in order to get their hands on these girls. They don’t even have to be super wealthy like Epstein. They’re pimped out to Arabs and their teen sons, etc. There are entire human trafficking networks set up to bring in laborers, domestics, and sex workers into the UAE, from all over the world. Human trafficking is far more profitable than dealing drugs, and it’s just much too pervasive be dealt with effectively or successfully.

Epstein was a rare case. Most pedophiles and hebephiles who purchase kids and teens for rape, aren’t billionaires. They’re normal, everyday Joes. They’re in the US Military, stationed overseas, they’re even teens, who have a father who wants their son to have sex, which is so fucked up, because now they’ve set up their kid to most likely have inappropriate to illegal relationships with women and girls, for the rest of that kid’s life, and it’s actual child abuse.

We live in a very fucked up world. Stepping on one roach doesn’t fix the problem.

At least eight jail staffers were aware that strict instructions had been given not to leave Jeffrey Epstein alone in his cell — but the order apparently was ignored in the 24 hours before he hanged himself, according to a report.

Epstein, who was found in his cell in July with marks around his neck, was placed on suicide watch, but his lawyers had asked for him to be taken off the watch six days later, and the MCC agreed.

That meant instead of guards checking on him in his cell every 15 minutes, they would now make a pass every 30 minutes — but in Epstein’s case, even that didn’t happen and he hadn’t been checked on for hours before his death.

The two guards who were supposed to check on him during their rounds were asleep at the time, claiming they were overworked. One wasn’t even a full-fledged corrections officer.

The city medical examiner has ruled Epstein’s death a suicide by hanging — a finding not accepted by his lawyers, who said they are conducting their own investigation.

The FBI and the Justice Department’s inspector general also are investigating the case.

The head of the union that represents MCC workers did not respond to requests for comment by the Washington Post.

An FBI spokesman and a spokesman for the US attorney in Manhattan declined comment to the paper.

Jeffrey Epstein reportedly ordered more marriages to keep women in sex ring

Jeffrey Epstein directed at least three separate marriages between women in his sex trafficking operation — as part of an attempt to keep non-citizen members of his entourage working for him, according to a new report.

The allegations of fraudulent marriages come after a victim claimed in a lawsuit Tuesday that the wealthy pedophile coerced her into legally wedding one of his foreign-born female recruiters in exchange for him promising to cover her much-needed medical procedure.

But there were at least two other arrangements of this nature that have not been previously reported, according to Business Insider.

In one of the sham marriages, one of the women was a US citizen while the other was from Eastern Europe, the outlet reported. Both women, who have since divorced, married in October 2013 and were both romantically involved with the convicted pedophile.

“These were victims too,” an associate of Epstein’s told Business Insider. “They were psychologically manipulated.”

Sources told the outlet that the American woman was purported to be a member of his household staff and was gifted a car valued at more than $50,000 from Epstein.

Her foreign-born spouse was photographed with Epstein and lived at his Upper East Side mansion in a different unit from her, Business Insider reported. While living at Epstein’s townhome, she received a degree from an unnamed US university as well as a professional license.

Two months ago, the women were granted an uncontested petition for the dissolution of marriage, the report said.

FBI agents investigating Epstein reportedly are aware of the marriage, and are seeking to interview the two women.

Jeffrey Epstein was removed from the sex offender registry in New Mexico, thanks to a loophole, according to a new report.

The multimillionaire pedophile registered as a sex offender in 2010 following his conviction in Florida on child prostitution charges, CBS News reported.

But two days later, he was dropped from New Mexico’s list. State officials explained he wasn’t required to register because the victim in the Florida case wasn’t younger than 16 — a condition in the Land of Enchantment.

Still, Epstein personally notified law enforcement about his trips to New Mexico, according to emails from 2013 obtained by CBS.

Epstein owned a $17 million mansion known as Zorro Ranch in Stanley, New Mexico, that features a runway and airplane hangar. The sprawling site is what the 66-year-old wanted to turn into a virtual baby-making factory — using his sperm to impregnate women as part of a sick scheme to improve humanity.

The mansion is also where Epstein allegedly sexually abused his victims.

If that fucker had a real job like the rest of us slobs, he wouldn't have had TIME to crime.

But no. Since he was a scumbag money launderer, he had all the time in the world to crime on.

by Anonymousreply 396August 22, 2019 6:11 PM

And he will never have a regular 9-5, even after his alleged “suicide”. And wouldn’t you know it, it just happens to be another odd detail in this story.

Mark Epstein has never really held a job, and no one knows how he got his money, either. He too, owned several properties right next to his “brother”, Jeffrey and enjoyed donating to charitable causes. Perhaps he’ll donate lots more, now that he’s about to “inherit” tons of dough!

Isn’t it just fascinating, that almost every photo of Mark Epstein has been scrubbed from the internet? Isn’t it interesting, that a man who was only 18 months younger that Jeffrey, had no career, friends, a wife, kids, or anyone who really knew him, & spent time with him?

I wonder why Jeffrey never purchased Mark a decent toupee, like the one he wore? I wonder why Mark never grew facial hair, or tanned, like his older brother? And mostly, I wonder why the brother of one of the wealthiest sex offenders ever, in America’s history, has rarely EVER been seen anywhere, if at all?

About that foot massage and Epstein, story by Evgeny Morozov

The first email is by Brockman

[quote]Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire science philanthropist showed up at this weekend’s event by helicopter (with his beautiful young assistant from Belarus). He’ll be in Cambridge in a couple of weeks asked me who he should meet. You are one of the people I suggested and I told him I would send some links.

[quote]He’s the guy who gave Harvard #30m to set up Martin Nowak. He’s been extremely generous in funding projects of many of our friends and clients. He also got into trouble and spent a year in jail in Florida.

[quote]If he contacts you it’s probably worth your time to meet him as he’s extremely bright and interesting.

[quote]Last time I visited his house (the largest private residence in NYC), I walked in to find him in a sweatsuit and a British guy in a suit with suspenders, getting foot massages from two young well-dressed Russian women. After grilling me for a while about cyber-security, the Brit, named Andy, was commenting on the Swedish authorities and the charges against Julian Assange.

[quote]“We think they’re liberal in Sweden, but its more like Northern England as opposed to Southern Europe,” he said. “In Monaco, Albert works 12 hours a day but at 9pm, when he goes out, he does whatever he wants, and nobody cares. But, if I do it, I’m in big trouble.” At that point I realized that the recipient of Irina’s foot massage was his Royal Highness, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.

[quote]Indeed, a week later, on a slow news day, the cover of the NYpost had a full-page photo of Jeffrey and Andrew walking in Central Park under the headline: “The Prince and the Perv.” (That was the end of Andrew’s role at the UK trade ambassador.)

To which I (Morozov) responded:

[quote]thanks for clarifying this. I’m sure he’s an all-around sweet guy but I’ll have to think about it. It could be that I spent far too much time in the Soros bubble but I have zero interest in meeting billionaires - if I did, I’d be going to Davos every year. but I appreciate you taking the time.

Here is Brockman again:

[quote]A billionaire who owns Victoria’s Secret plus a modelling agency is a different kind of animal. But I hear you and basically agree. Gregory Bateson once advised me that ‘Of all our human inventions, economic man is by far the dullest.’

And here is my (Morozov's) final answer:

[quote]“A billionaire who owns Victoria’s Secret plus a modelling agency” --> one more reason to stay away actually.

A New York Times reporter allegedly solicited a $30,000 donation from Jeffrey Epstein to a Harlem cultural center, according to a new report.

The revelation came after the reporter, Landon Thomas Jr., was asked by his editors last year to interview the convicted pedophile about a tip that Epstein was advising Elon Musk on Tesla, NPR reported.

Thomas, a financial correspondent who’s worked with the Times for 16 years, did the sit-down with Epstein, a longtime source of his.

Then, he disclosed to his editor David Enrich that he asked the multimillionaire for the massive donation in 2017.

“It was made clear to Landon that he was never to have any professional contact with Epstein whatsoever,” a source told the Daily Beast. “He wasn’t to call him or speak to him or use him as a source. This was a flagrant breach of NYT ethical guidelines and editors were horrified.”

Tax records obtained by NPR revealed a $30,000 donation in 2017 to a Montessori preschool called O’Gorman Garden in Harlem — granted by a US Virgin Islands-based organization previously controlled by Epstein.

“Soliciting a donation to a personal charity is a clear violation of the policy that governs Times journalists’ relationships with their sources,” Eileen Murphy, chief spokesperson for the Times Co., told the outlet. “As soon as editors became aware of it, they took action.”

Thomas left The Times in January, but his departure was kept quiet, and the reason behind it was never shared with the public, according to NPR and the Daily Beast.

One Times source told the Beast that Thomas was “pushed out” by top business editor Ellen Pollock.

“We wish we had of gotten rid of him sooner,” a person with knowledge of the matter told the outlet. “He should have been fired on the spot.”

In conversations with his colleagues at the Times, Thomas had repeatedly tried to minimize his relationship with Epstein, according to the Daily Beast.

But sources told the outlet that the correspondent refused to give the money manager’s contact information to colleague James Stewart, who was later assigned by the Times to interview Epstein further on the Tesla story.

In an August 2018 interview with Stewart, Epstein called criminalizing sex with teen girls a “cultural aberration.”

Thomas penned a glowing profile on Epstein just as he was about to start a jail sentence in Palm Beach in 2008 — the result of a controversial plea deal.

He declined to comment to NPR, and did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily Beast.

Epstein hanged himself in his jail cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center earlier this month while held without bail on sex-trafficking charges.

An investigation has been launched into whether Jeffrey Epstein committed any sex crimes on French territories or against any French minors, the chief prosecutor in Paris said Friday.

Remy Heitz said in a statement the preliminary probe was opened based on “elements transmitted” to his office and “exchanges with American authorities, competent in the so-called Epstein affair.”

The investigation involves information concerning girls 15 years old and older, according to the statement.

Charges that are being eyed include rape of minors 15 years old and older, sexual aggression and criminal association with a view of committing crimes.

Two French secretaries of state called for the opening of the probe this month.

Epstein, 66, hanged himself in his cell at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center on Aug. 10 as he was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Did you guys know that as part of training, respective CIA officers take acting classes? Like, full on drama courses? It goes even further than that with specific types of agents. They learn how to perform actual magic tricks, aka: “slight of hand”.

Deep cover agents, or NOCs, learn all of this, including special FX makeup and disguise. The best of them can literally be one person one day, and an entirely different person, the next.

There was this one CIA agent who was a master at this type of thing. She actually sat down and had dinner with President Bush who knew her well, while disguised as a man, and he had no clue that it was her. She was considered the agency’s very own Meryl Streep by those who were aware of her talents.

She went on to train those who were chosen for special work and assignments, the agents who could have easily gotten work in Hollywood. Rumor has it, that some of them did just that.

Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter made a disturbing discovery on his front lawn — the severed head of a cat — just after he assigned a reporter to dig into Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sexual misconduct, according to a new report.

Back in 2006, as the feds compiled accusations against the money manager in Palm Beach, Florida, John Connolly, a contributing editor for the magazine, headed out there in search of a story, NPR reported.

But as Connolly sat down with women who had worked for Epstein, his editor, Carter, called him to report the gruesome cat head in the front yard of his Connecticut home.

“It was done to intimidate,” Connolly told NPR. “No question about it.”

Connolly said he decided to stop reporting on Epstein and later penned a nonfiction book about the disgraced financier with bestselling crime novelist James Patterson.

But Carter told NPR that the magazine never ceased its Epstein-related reporting because of any perceived threat.

It wasn’t the first time Epstein allegedly intimidated the magazine editor.

Back in 2002, Carter assigned reporter Vicky Ward to look into the source of Epstein’s wealth, and why he was always seen spending time with younger women.

Ward had interviewed two sisters, Maria and Annie Farmer, who claimed Epstein and his girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell lured and then sexually exploited them, according to NPR.

Maria told Ward of how Epstein and Maxwell sexually assaulted her together in an Ohio apartment, and Annie recounted how Epstein molested her at his New Mexico property.

Epstein showed up at Vanity Fair’s offices — and made it clear to Carter that he was not happy.

“He was torturing Graydon,” Connolly told NPR.

The financier pleaded with Carter to kill the story and called him multiple times after his visit, according to Connolly.

Epstein shot down any allegations of misconduct, according to Connolly.

Ultimately, the story did run in March 2003, titled, “The Talented Mr. Epstein” — with zero mention of the sisters’ allegations.

“It was terribly painful,” the sisters told NPR in a statement. “We hoped the story would put people on notice and they would be stopped from abusing other young girls and young women. That didn’t happen. In the end, the story that ran erased our voices.”

Shortly after publication, Connolly claimed, Carter found a bullet just outside the door of his Manhattan home.

“That wasn’t a coincidence,” Connolly said.

Footage from at least one camera in the hallway outside the cell where authorities say Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself is unusable by investigators probing his death — although other captures nearby are clearer, according to a new report.

Three people familiar with the investigation by the FBI and the Justice Department’s inspector general told the Washington Post that it wasn’t immediately known why some of the footage from outside the disgraced financier’s cell is too flawed to review — or what precisely can be seen in portions that are usable.

It’s unclear whether the flaw in the footage affected only a small segment of what was recorded, or whether it’s a persistent problem at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where Epstein was housed, the paper reported.

More accusers will bring lawsuits against the estate of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday, at the same time a judge is expected to close the criminal case against him, their lawyer said Monday.

Manhattan federal Judge Richard Berman ordered a hearing Tuesday in response to prosecutors’ request that he dismiss a sex-trafficking case against Epstein, who died Aug. 10.

The city medical examiner has ruled that Epstein hung himself in his jail cell.

Berman’s letter indicated he wanted to give a chance for prosecutors, defense attorneys and accusers’ lawyers to address the court before he formally closes the case.

Firebrand attorney Gloria Allred told The Post she’ll appear at the courthouse Tuesday with women who plan to file suits against Epstein’s estate. She declined to elaborate.

Accuser attorneys Brad Edwards and Stan Pottinger also plan to attend, the Daily Beast reported.

“Regardless of the number of people who appear, the invitation for victims to be present and participate is very important, not only for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, but for crime victims generally,” Edwards, who’s represented Epstein victims for more than a decade, told the news site.

Prosecutors allege he sexually abused dozens of minor girls at his Upper East Side mansion and in his waterfront compound in Palm Beach, Fla.

US Attorney Geoffrey Berman has said his office is still investigating the case.

Is this some sort of last hurrah or a Hail Mary pass?

I can only imagine that the next Democratic pick for US Attorney General will have a field day investigating Dump and Barr and the deep level of criminality, corruption that was/is never seen as a possibility before. They absolutely know their victories are going to be short-lived.

The media will may take the next 10 or more years to sort through and as such the depraved 'family values' GOP will be rendered worse off the Whig Party.

by Anonymousreply 434August 29, 2019 5:22 PM

I am suspicious of that last will and trust. IF we accept that Barr DID in fact see Epstein, then there's a chance Barr knew about such a trust to keep Epstein's money safe. This would truncate any suits from the victims, and thus say 'bye bye' to any civil suits - or at the least it would present another hurdle for them. Whatever the purpose, it's working! All Things Epstein is now on the MSM back burner.

Now we learn that both videotapes of the murder are no longer viewable. 'Something' went wrong; blurry in some parts, maybe glitches here and there...."Argh!". What? Where? Ohhhh... So it's no good, unfortunately. Welp, there are no tapes(?). Gee...(scratching head)...too bad...

This is all Barr's work. Hey it worked! No heat around Epstein even after the girls' testimony. Thank God for Dorian! As good as forgotten now. A job well done.

An anonymous man terrified he’s about to be named in court papers related to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s alleged child sex trafficking ring is begging a judge not to release his name and identities of others accused — because it could tarnish their reputations, according to a surprise motion filed Tuesday.

Lawyers for the John Doe filed the letter Tuesday — just a day before Epstein’s self-proclaimed “sex slave” Virginia Roberts Giuffre is expected to join her lawyers in court as they continue efforts to unseal thousands of pages of documents related to her civil lawsuit against the dead pedophile’s alleged procuress.

“As a non-party to these proceedings, Doe lacks specific knowledge about the contents of the Sealed Materials,” his lawyers wrote to Manhattan federal court judge Loretta Preska. “But it is clear that these materials implicate the privacy and reputational interests of many persons other than the two primary parties to this action, Giuffre and Maxwell.”

The letter goes on to say a prior judge overseeing the case summarized the still-secret documents as containing a “range of allegations of sexual acts involving Plaintiff and non-parties to this litigation, some famous, some not; the identities of non-parties who either allegedly engaged in sexual acts with Plaintiff or who allegedly facilitated such acts.”

Doe’s lawyers do not say in the papers if he is famous, or what accusations he expects to face in the court papers. His attorneys did not immediately return a message.

I think Epstein's lawyers should need to bring a case of wrongful death (Epstein) in order for these victims' cases to go forward. Otherwise, how will they get any compensation from his secret trust? Barr is digging for evidence and destroying it as he finds it. Another legal tactic would seek Barr's recusal since he is personally involved via his father, Donald. Unless, of course, it is Dumpster himself that is forcing Bill's hand in in order to erase all of his dirt dealings with Epstein.

Lots of shit going on here which the public will uncover after Dumpster is out of office.

by Anonymousreply 443September 6, 2019 9:53 AM

DL Legal Dept, may I ask a question? In a case like Guiffre’s, with 10,000 sealed pages naming scores of people — how does it work if you’re named? Would the court contact you to testify in closed door proceedings (obviously this has not happened here)? If I was one of the perps, and I was worried that I was named....what do I do? Hire a defense lawyer, which would then allow me to gain access to the docs so I could see how I’m being discussed? I would imagine that with sealed docs, the judge *might* allow you to see a few pages and that’s it? Or are you still not allowed to see a single page because it’s sealed? I’m just saying, who is this John Doe, how does he know he’s named, and why not just leave it alone???

If you’re named in a civil action, I would imagine you still have no rights to view a sealed document unless you are one of the defendants. Which would also mean that almost no one has seen these docs in this suit. So John Doe must be *highly* paranoid that he would risk being identified by a leaker/whistleblower later on. I would kill to know who John Doe is!!!

I hope the Legal Dept isn’t off today.

by Anonymousreply 444September 6, 2019 2:36 PM

John Doe is probably Luc Brunel, or another person who worked in consort with Epstein and Maxwell in order to traffic girls from Europe.

Now, this is where it’s gonna get VERY interesting, because rumor has it that Trump taught Epstein how to traffic successfully, and not the other way around, as some might assume.

For anyone who’s interested, google Roy Cohn. Roy was Donald Trump’s mentor, and Cohn was the original Epstein, before Epstein. Cohn regularly and customarily trafficked teenaged, underaged boys to his former boss, J. Edgar Hoover, as well as teenaged girls to all of Hoover’s friends, and especially to Hoover’s enemies.

This is the man who Fred Trump, Sr., entrusted his son to. He specifically chose Cohn to mentor his son in the family “business”. Interestingly enough, Fred Trump, Sr. was born to a man who ran a full fledged brothel, when brothels were still a thing.

Not one single thing that I’ve written about Cohn, Fred Trump, Sr., or his father (Donald’s grandfather) is untrue. All factual and easily verified.

President Donald Trump quickly shut down all of his modeling operations several months before Epstein’s second and most recent arrest. I had frequented his recruiting websites before the arrest, because I was evaluating whether or not the VERY persistent rumors and chatter regarding human trafficking being linked to Trump had any basis. All of those websites are now gone. They were up as of 4 months ago.

Funny, I haven't seen any evidence of this so-called elevated reputation. Ever since JE's name entered into public discussion, he's always been referred to as a pervy scumbag of questionable ethics. Don't they get the news up there in their ivory tower?

That being said, why is "moral character" of the donor a factor in accepting money, anyway? If anything, I would think it would be the source of the money that should come under scrutiny, and there are certainly plenty of suspicions surrounding how Ep made his. It's almost as if they are saying ill-gotten gains are OK as long as the giver appears to be a stand-up guy on the surface.

by Anonymousreply 458September 8, 2019 8:30 AM

I have never been an apologist for Epstein, but I fail to see the sin in him giving money towards research. It's like people are putting Epstein on the same level as the Roman Catholic Church, where priests prayed on boys and the Vatican kept it a secret. One would think Epstein sacrificially murdered these girls in order to keep them quiet. It is sex, people, sex. Afterwards, they walked away. Some of these girls were underage and lured in. Now they seek recompense for the fact they were too young when they were preyed upon and this constituted rape. That's what this is. That's all there is.

by Anonymousreply 459September 8, 2019 8:30 AM

by Anonymousreply 461September 8, 2019 3:02 PM

not only did they accept money that was probably obtained illegally but the sin is that the money came at the expense of others. Unless you have been there no one knows what it feels like to be any of these women. What they have struggled with, how it has changed their life if it hadn't happened. These were not victim less crimes.

by Anonymousreply 462September 8, 2019 4:58 PM

Add child trafficking and child rape to that list. All that was public knowledge.

Now that his money has been moved to a foundation trust - what do schools do if he left them money? I'd suggest they accept it and then turn it over to the anti-child trafficking groups. Or set up a worldwide foundation that will do just that. Not just in US but other countries. I wonder how many will?

by Anonymousreply 463September 8, 2019 5:06 PM

Jeffrey Epstein did not make his money trafficking teens. He used his money that he already had, in order to pay teens for massages, hand jobs, sex, and rape. He paid the girls to have sex with people. A night with Randy Andy was worth 10K, and from what I understand, his sex slaves accepted the cash and gifts.

I hate to have to clarify this type of stuff, because some of you are not only misinformed due to your obstinate laziness, but you’re also stupid enough to clutch your pearls, and call me a pedo apologist.

This story is over. Congrats to the young women who will eventually receive large sums of money from Epstein’s estate, or via special conditions enforced on his Trust. Go big! 2-10M/each, minimum. It will take longer than expected to settle and get that kind of money, but what’s another 1-5 years?

Also, the Virginia girl was abused by Epstein, and is also completely full of shit. I have no idea who this girl is, but I have solid reason to believe that she never fucked GAY AND HOMOSEXUAL PRINCE ANDREW, though she may have drugged him, stripped him, and straddled him nude, while Ghislaine and Epstein shot some detailed pics of Andy’s festive sleepover, for their “family album”, and for his family album too, but of course.

And btw, why has not one person ever bothered to ask Miss Virginia how exactly a self described poor, destitute runaway, who had previously lived in a trailer park with her mom, ended up landing a job as a hostess at a private and exclusive golf resort named Mar A Lago, owned by the current President of the United States, when she was only 14????
