I watched the first episode to see what all the fuss was about. Dreary, pointless and badly acted.

I think that Nate’s showering, based on Tyler’s face, was because his clothes were saturated in blood and he needed to clean up. His motives are still unclear because, until the chili incident, there was no way of knowing that his father fucked Jules, we didn't see a video camera. Nate initiated the communication with Jules so it's really not clear to me how she is in his way when he wanted to flirt with her or why a fake account was used. This has been the best episode of the season with a really good pace that left me nervous throughout.

This show is so fucking great! It's covering similar territory that other shows have tackled in the past, but it still feels really fresh and novel. It's like My So-Called Life for the new millennium with drugs and alcohol and sex and dicks and real life twisted messiness.

I couldn't tell by his Dads reaction if the tape was missing or not.

Its seems weird that Nate would keep it and not put it back, unless he is purposefully angling for a confrontation with his Dad. Guess we will find out.

It's like if he immerses himself in his father's secret life it will bridge some psychic distance between the two in a warped and twisted way, as in getting close to his father's secrets brings him closer to his father. If Nate is gay or bi, it must weigh even heavier to carry not one, but two secrets and bear the burden of both closets. I assume it's all a parable for how damaging being closeted can be.

This show makes me feel so uneasy yet I keep watching every week.

The entire episode had Paul Thomas Anderson energy. The score even sounded like Jon Brion's score for Punch Drunk Love, specifically the scene in which we follow the protagonist in one shot during a hectic moment in his life. It was well done, and they did a great job tying all of the characters narratives together.

The episode 5 preview shows that Maddie is in the Principles Office with a depressed/abused girl hoodie on. She's going to get revenge on Nate, hence he's being escorted from the school by the police. She seems like the homophobic type to get offended when a guy isn't interested in her. This has nothing to do with choking her and everything to do with the dick pictures. But, maybe Maddie is loyal and is being forced into the office after teachers see the throat marks.

Every episode has turned out a lot different then expected so we'll see if this is the last of hottie Nate.

The carnival scene was a non-stop visual fest and the end where the girls kiss and the camera goes around the bed, depicting the days they spent together was fantastic. I wasn’t a fan of Zendaya and dramas about aimless teen druggies tend to make me queasy, I still haven’t gotten over Less Than Zero, so I wasn’t prepared to like this show as much as I do. The acting is phenomenal. All of the leads are charismatic and compelling to watch. Gorgeously lit and filmed. There are moments of dread that feel so real. Like the scene with the drug dealer’s supply guy who forced Rue to take Fentanyl and then demanded that she pay for it. One way or another. I’m totally smitten with Jules. Such a beautiful soul. This one lives up to the hype.

The score to this episode was fantastic, I hope it's made available at some point. I was also impressed with the way the director juggled the multiple people and story points at the fair. And the visuals were gorgeous.

The subject matter still makes me queasy but I think the craft is quite amazing.

Loved the editing for this last episode, and the cinematography - you kind of felt as if you were on a carousel, too. Great choice of soundtrack, too. l know, MARY!

At first I was a bit annoyed by the fairtale like music in the latest episode, but by the end it felt like the perfect score for the episode.

Why does all the press of this show highlight Maude Apatow as one of its featured actresses, as of yet the only thing her character seems to have done is to be provide clean urine samples. Is it just a case of highlighting Hollywood spawn? I was hoping the Olivia Jade debacle was going to curb some of that.
