British Royal Family Gossip: Part 65

She is NOT going to live at Frogmore, people.

Archie has been removed from very special spot (just below Liz, just above Philip) on the Royal website. There are now “features” on the Cambridge kids. None on Archie.

by Anonymousreply 1June 2, 2019 2:31 AM

At one time, Her Royal Highness, Princess of the United Kingdom, Duchess Of Sussex, had a personal assistants and secretaries and aides.

Now all she has is a housekeeper?

Hmmm.

by Anonymousreply 2June 2, 2019 2:35 AM

Bringing over from the prior thread - seems to have been the plan/scam all along. Alienate the UK taxpayers and BRF so they will pay her to leave, helping to build her brand as woke and victimized. No wonder she and Markus looked so gleeful in NYC. Wonder what the men in suits know about him? Looking back at images he really does seem to have had a hand in organizing the sting from the start.

Prince Harry Meghan Markle Baby By Gossip Cop Staff | 12:34 am, June 1, 2019

Prince Harry Meghan Markle Baby (National Enquirer)

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to raise their baby boy, Archie, in America, reports one of this week’s celebrity magazines. The claim, however, is completely untrue. While there’s a chance they will relocate for a certain amount of time outside the U.K., they are not moving to Hollywood or anywhere in the U.S.

According to the latest issue of the National Enquirer, “Royal rebel Megan is flat-out defying Queen Elizabeth’s order to move to Africa with Prince Harry and baby Archie.” Instead, they’re leaving Windsor Castle’s Frogmore Cottage, which was a gift from the queen, and heading to the United States, contends the supermarket tabloid. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying Markle has “gone totally rogue,” and is telling friends that “if the royal family want[s] her out of their hair, she’ll happily oblige by moving back to America.”

So many stories.

This sounds like a bit of a whitewash of the rumored role Markus is said to play at Soho, that of a pimp. It was also said to be where/how she met Inskip, a friend of Harry, who warned him away from seeing her as wife material.

While some rumors point to designer Misha Nonoo as the matchmaker (Markle's close friend, Nonoo was, until recently, married to Alexander Gilkes, a friend of Princes William and Harry), it has also been reported that Anderson, who apparently knows the Prince socially, set the pair up in May of 2016.

"He asked Markus if he could set up, not a date, but an opportunity for them to meet and that happened in one of the private rooms of Soho House," Nicholls alleges.

by Anonymousreply 4June 2, 2019 2:44 AM

Previous thread R539 was a video of MM promoting The Tig - thought it was hysterical that the girl called her out on “basically [her] version of the Goop” and MM put her hand up to her face / scratched her nose while she was arguing for the distinctive difference The Tig offered.

Previous thread R570 was their engagement interview - never put it together that she wore deep green. If she really did want to make emeralds her signature stone she was playing that well for the optics. Kate in deep blue for engagement photos and interviews and sapphires. Meghan was going to be green and emeralds. Read somewhere else that she chose the dress for the first Archie pictures to match her engagement photos coat too. All the optics all the time.

by Anonymousreply 5June 2, 2019 3:06 AM

I do think it’s a bold move (as someone stated last thread) to have so many US links for Sussex June picks. Especially since already had news article calling out the yoga retreat link/promotion.

by Anonymousreply 6June 2, 2019 3:09 AM

She is trying to make them pay her to leave is my guess.

by Anonymousreply 7June 2, 2019 3:10 AM

I thought her brown Ralph and Russo engagement gown was ugly and it clashed with Harry’s blue suit. It was just ...no.

by Anonymousreply 8June 2, 2019 3:19 AM

Who cares if she matched her clothes to her jewels? The other royals do the same. Kate wore a dark blue dress to emphasise Diana's sapphire, which took her ten years of grafting to acquire. Meghan managed an engagement in a fraction of the time, because Harry loves her more passionately than William ever loved insipid, inarticulate, passive Kate.

by Anonymousreply 9June 2, 2019 4:00 AM

R4, why would someone worth $5m need a pimp? Would you be talking this way about a man? Check your misogyny.

by Anonymousreply 10June 2, 2019 4:01 AM

We have NO idea of her staff, but I imagine she has cleaners in regularly and probably a live in nanny. She will also retain any staff she had from KP. We DO NOT know all the appointments they make, as a lot are done through agencies, NOT public adverts.

Hilarious that some sad sap is seriously discussing National Enquirer articles, as well as blind items which are created as clickbait for CT-ers.

by Anonymousreply 13June 2, 2019 4:10 AM

My friends and I have a betting pool going. I’ve got $20 that she won’t be showing up at Trooping The Colour.

I seriously think she won’t be there but if she shows up we’re going to see a new and controlled hustling hoe. If she shows up she’s going to be a medicated Stepford wife.

by Anonymousreply 14June 2, 2019 4:24 AM

The more time passes the more plain it's become Meghan is quite the hustling whore. Everyone underestimated how truly dumb Harry is and always has been.

by Anonymousreply 15June 2, 2019 4:54 AM

Hmmm...if she skips out on meeting Trump and then shows up for Trooping, that would look bad. But, I think she wants to go. She's probably been exercising like a fiend, and she'd love to step out in a flattering dress in front of a huge crowd and lots of cameras.

But if she doesn't go to the Trooping, then on her (and Harry's) instagram, she'll probably post a photo of her at the event last year.

I bet she's planning some tacky instagram photo for Father's Day.

by Anonymousreply 16June 2, 2019 4:58 AM

She needs to stay her ass at home I’m not ever gonna touch the topic of whether she gave birth or not.

by Anonymousreply 17June 2, 2019 5:08 AM

Isn't the question whether the RF invites her to Trooping the Colour?

She can hardly just show up and jump into a carriage uninvited.

by Anonymousreply 18June 2, 2019 5:24 AM

Which one of you bitches is posting on DM as Anthony Blanche in Oxford?

by Anonymousreply 19June 2, 2019 5:27 AM

No one in the BRF cares if Markle shows up or not for Trump. Everyone hates him. However, the Trooping of the Colours is an extremely important royal event and has been for about the past 300 years. It's one of those "see and be seen" events among the royal family members. If Markle doesn't show up for that, then she's doing herself no favors among family, and her absence will be duly noted. Forget this maternity leave nonsense for the day. The kid is nearly a month old. Markle can put forth the effort, get dressed and head over to London for a few hours. It wouldn't kill her. And the queen will notice if she isn't there. Half of life is showing up. It's her duty for all the other perks that come with a free house, free clothes, free meals, you know, free everything at the taxpayers' expense.

by Anonymousreply 20June 2, 2019 6:05 AM

R485 from the previous thread, I think she may be auditioning nannies now, so having not hired the permanent one yet allows them claim that they have only a housekeeper.

by Anonymousreply 21June 2, 2019 6:20 AM

r20 You act like both of these things are choices, they're not. Markle has not been invited to participate in the Trump visit, it remains to be seen if she will be invited for Trooping the Colour.

by Anonymousreply 22June 2, 2019 6:22 AM

Reposting this from R531 on the previous thread because it's such a great contrast to the doe-eyed, empathetic, super-gracious look she now affects in her public appearances. Girl was always and still is hustling.

by Anonymousreply 23June 2, 2019 6:27 AM

R14, do tell us more about how she's going to turn up as a 'medicated Stepford wife'?

Is this the new Skippie narrative? If she's calm and beautifully behaved, she must be on drugs?

by Anonymousreply 24June 2, 2019 6:29 AM

My guess, she will not be there for The Trooping of the Colors under the guise that’s it’s too soon to leave Awchie..... and nobody will care. I think we won’t see her until the christening. I wouldn’t be surprised if they release a one off photo of the christening itself. The RF does not appear to want to help her look good the way they once did. It’s like like “Smegma who?”

by Anonymousreply 25June 2, 2019 6:37 AM

Lordy, that sexy grilling vid that R495 re-posted on part 64. Megs is an attractive woman, but she's so not a sexy pin-up. All the lip-biting and hair-twirling makes me actually feel sorry for her.

And the R538 interview in which she flirtily bosses a schlubby entertainment reporter and says she's not sensitive like her Suits character--gossip gold! This is the Meghan who's going to provide us some soapy drama in the years to come.

by Anonymousreply 26June 2, 2019 6:39 AM

[quote]All the lip-biting and hair-twirling makes me actually feel sorry for her.

It was cringe-inducing. She really is a pretty girl but trying too hard is the opposite of sexy.

by Anonymousreply 27June 2, 2019 6:47 AM

Hilarious to see you old vultures reduced to picking over the carcass of her old videos while she stays at home, denying you fresh flesh to feast on.

by Anonymousreply 28June 2, 2019 6:58 AM

We’re not that old. We like to engage in Armchair Malice around here in case you haven’t noticed. Nobody knew who she was until Harry pulled her of the D list and now her social climbing chickens are coming home to roost.

by Anonymousreply 29June 2, 2019 7:07 AM

Once again, it’s “Trooping the Colour” not “Trooping of the Colours”.

by Anonymousreply 30June 2, 2019 7:35 AM

So sorry ! It’s such a stupid sounding name anyway, no offense.

by Anonymousreply 31June 2, 2019 7:37 AM

People are so pissed about the 2nd round of renovations on Frogho. Read the comments on this Royal reporter's link. Apparently the scam is to wait until April to lodge the 2nd round of planning permissions, and then it gets accounted in the next fiscal year, and thereby masking the true scale of the total costs. That's why they didn't do everything at once. Could bring the total cost up to 4 million pounds. They could have just bought a huge country pile for that sum, but then they wouldn't have been able to bill that to the UK taxpayer.

by Anonymousreply 32June 2, 2019 7:42 AM

Trump attacked Meghan so obviously Harry will want to do everything possible to protect Meghan from him and from having to meet him. Harry (and the rest of the RF) are no doubt dreading being forced to meet him. They’re probably jealous that she has an excuse (maternity leave) to get out of it.

by Anonymousreply 33June 2, 2019 7:43 AM

'I think she may be auditioning nannies now.'

Oh, dear.

You mean 'interviewing', Miss Illiterate.

by Anonymousreply 34June 2, 2019 7:48 AM

'Nobody knew who she was until Harry pulled her of the D list and now her social climbing chickens are coming home to roost.'

'Nobody' being some jobless British chavs and a couple of OAPs. Suits was sold to many different countries and Meghan appeared on it for seven years. Plenty of people knew exactly who she was.

by Anonymousreply 35June 2, 2019 7:52 AM

Trump is revolting but I’m sure the RF is used to dealing disgusting people and really aren’t dreading spending a few hours with him in particular.

by Anonymousreply 36June 2, 2019 7:52 AM

Trump is a buffoon, but Meghan made those comments in November 2016, six whole months into her relationship with Harry, which started in May 2016. By six months in, she should have known WAY better than to try to burnish her woke credentials by making any political comment about anybody, anywhere. She just did it to get positive attention.

Whatever Trump said, what she said was worse, considering her position at the time. She broke the Number One Rule for the Royal Family.

I'll bet as much as the Queen and Lord Doom might hate Trump, the person they are really angry at is Meghan. She's not just ostentatious, she's also a loose cannon. She's basically turning out to be their worst nightmare, PR-wise.

by Anonymousreply 37June 2, 2019 7:54 AM

[quote] it remains to be seen if she will be invited for Trooping the Colour.

R22. So, Markle has to be invited to the Trooping of the Colours when nearly every other member of the BRF will likely be there? Don't you think that as Harry's wife--and if she let it be known that she would like to attend that she would automatically be included...or as you say, "invited?"

by Anonymousreply 38June 2, 2019 7:55 AM

If she had never spoken out against Trump she'd look like a milksop. Six months into the relationship and Amerian Meg was supposed to just shut up and look pretty like passive Kate instead of criticising the orange devil? You come across as such a prissy little shit, R37, with your craven worship of this bunch of exalted benefit claimers.

by Anonymousreply 39June 2, 2019 8:01 AM

For God’s sakes R38 it’s “THE TROOPING OF THE COLOUR!!!

by Anonymousreply 40June 2, 2019 8:04 AM

People aren’t “invited” to the Trooping the Colour, all major member of the royal family are automatically expected to attend unless they have good reason not to. Meghan might be allowed to skip due to maternity leave but she doesn’t need to be “invited.”

by Anonymousreply 41June 2, 2019 8:06 AM

R20, she will have an open invite to all the spazzy royal events, including the tedious Trooping the Colour. Whether she attends is up to her. Middle class Brits frequently take six months to a year of maternity leave. As you keep reminding us, Meg isn't the wife of the guy who's going to be king when he's 60. She can take as long as she needs.

by Anonymousreply 42June 2, 2019 8:06 AM

Yes, r39. That was exactly what she was and is now supposed to do, and what she will be expected to do for the rest of her life, even after she divorces. The no-politics rule is the bedrock of the Queen's position.

And you come off as an insane Megstan (but I repeat myself) who can't even comprehend the most basic elements of the Royal Family, but insists upon stinking up a thread devoted to that same Royal Family.

In other words, Fuck off, lunatic.

by Anonymousreply 43June 2, 2019 8:07 AM

The real tea is whether William’s latest mistress and her husband are present at the State Banquet.

If they skip it will be a huge scandal.

by Anonymousreply 44June 2, 2019 8:07 AM

William doesn't have a mistress.

Stop creating fake news.

by Anonymousreply 45June 2, 2019 8:09 AM

R39 is def a lunatic and a megstan , she’s on ignore.

by Anonymousreply 46June 2, 2019 8:10 AM

R43, she has stayed in line since her marriage and that is all they're bothered about. Statements she made in 2016 are irrelevant to them. They do not care. You care soooo much more than they ever could.

by Anonymousreply 47June 2, 2019 8:11 AM

They are supposed to stay politically neutral about the UK's politics but they have and will criticise other countries. The monarchy spent centuries waging war on other nations.

by Anonymousreply 48June 2, 2019 8:14 AM

LOL sugar at r45.

William has fucked every horse faced non-picky posh girl in England, and continues to do so.

Unless the most naive American sugars think William heir to the throne is a model of fidelity and marital harmony.

by Anonymousreply 49June 2, 2019 8:17 AM

Though to be fair Rose isn’t William’s mistress any more, since she couldn’t keep her trap shut.

by Anonymousreply 50June 2, 2019 8:19 AM

R37, I'm not going to fault her for dragging Trump. I do side-eye her for being supposedly so woke but also willing to marry into the BRF.

by Anonymousreply 51June 2, 2019 8:20 AM

Yep, William and Kate were a marriage of convenience, not really a love match. He panicked when he lost his hair and his looks in his mid 20s and decided to settle down with the dull girl who'd sat on her ass waiting for him for ten years.

by Anonymousreply 52June 2, 2019 8:23 AM

R49, right? Why would these people be any different than other suburban philanderers? Probably more rampant amongst the toffs with lots of free time on their hands.

by Anonymousreply 53June 2, 2019 8:25 AM

R51, Diana did woke shit too. Landmines and AIDS. Meghan was the first royal to post about Pride this week. Odd that she is so hated here...I guess it really is mainly straight fraus on this thread.

by Anonymousreply 54June 2, 2019 8:26 AM

The deranged Meghan bashing all comes from about 5 Tumblr shut-ins who have never left Tennessee.

by Anonymousreply 55June 2, 2019 8:33 AM

To the idiot at R49, Sugars are not Kate fans they are crazed Meghan stans.

by Anonymousreply 56June 2, 2019 8:39 AM

R56, originally, Sugars were anyone who blindly fan girled over a royal, like you do over William the Adulterer.

by Anonymousreply 57June 2, 2019 8:41 AM

Remember that guy who said he'd bumped into Wills in an NYC bathhouse around 10 years ago? Which thread was it on?

by Anonymousreply 58June 2, 2019 8:43 AM

What's interesting about the Megstans is that they post so much, but there are only two, maybe three, of them. Easy to see this when you block them.

Also, with each new thread, you have to block them all over again, I've noticed.

Also, the language that they use is so humourless but bonkers at the same time. I've been on DL for a long, long time and I don't remember seeing anything as weird as the Megstans.

They're genuinely bizarre and so not-DL-style at all. So odd.

by Anonymousreply 59June 2, 2019 9:02 AM

'Also, with each new thread, you have to block them all over again, I've noticed.'

No, dear. Bless your dumb little heart. This means there are MORE people defending Meg, doesn't it, now? Because people you block are blocked site wide until you unblock them.

by Anonymousreply 60June 2, 2019 9:06 AM

Their complete lack of a sense of humor is how I always recognize them.

by Anonymousreply 61June 2, 2019 9:06 AM

*Also, with each new thread, you have to block them all over again, I've noticed.*

If you have to block them again, it means they are either different posters, or have changed IP address.

None of the Meghan-bashers need to be "re-blocked" - if you block them on one thread, they remain blocked for all threads. Because that is how DL works.

Now begone newbie, and stop pretending you're an actual DLers.

Oh and LMAO at the idea of Wills NOT cheating. So gullible.

by Anonymousreply 62June 2, 2019 9:09 AM

R62, she wants to block Meg supporters, not haters. If she blocked all the haters the thread would have only a few posts left. She is a hater.

by Anonymousreply 63June 2, 2019 9:24 AM

No, r62, What I was saying is that they change their IP addresses. And there is no way you've been posting since 2005. No one on here who has been posting for 14 years would be so devoid of humour. You're another lying Megstan who just got here from Celebitchy or wherever and is (satisfyingly) outraged that we all hate your beloved Duchess of SlutSex.

Another thing about Megstans - why do they always lie? They're always pretending to be British, or pretending to have "inside knowledge" (remember when they kept claiming the Queen loves Meghan?), and now, pretending to have been on here for years when they clearly haven't.

They really are utterly bizarre as a species.

by Anonymousreply 64June 2, 2019 9:25 AM

by Anonymousreply 66June 2, 2019 10:02 AM

The comments on r65's link are hilarious - I can't imagine how the Harkles could possibly get their reputation back at this stage. Comments like that, right after a Royal baby has been born? I used to think they could make a comeback, maybe via Africa, but now I'm increasingly thinking that they're past the point of no return.

It's such an incredible slow-motion car crash to watch, and all because Harry is as dumb as a box of hair.

by Anonymousreply 67June 2, 2019 10:26 AM

Yeah, the whole “omg isn’t it weird how I have to keep blocking Meg supporters” proves there are loads of them. (Though the Skippies think anyone who’s not firmly on Team “Meghan is a narc who faked her pregnancy and is currently locked up in the Tower of London” is a “sugar”.)

If you have to block someone more than once, it means they’re a different person, dumbasses.

Plenty of old time DLers have no particular interest in Meghan or Kate, we just hate that those insane Tumblrites have decided to invade our site to spread their racist hatred. We didn’t stand for that shit when it was LOTR tinhats, or Cumberbitches, and we’re not tolerating it now.

by Anonymousreply 68June 2, 2019 10:37 AM

The Express, oracle of the Skippies, has spoken.

'Humour' for Meg bashers = calling Meg puerile names like Smeg, Me Me and Megain. All very playground with these illiterate fraus.

[quote] Apparently the scam is to wait until April to lodge the 2nd round of planning permissions, and then it gets accounted in the next fiscal year, and thereby masking the true scale of the total costs.

R32 That's only a scam for someone who doesn't know how to add. Many people complete renovation work over several years because that's more cost effective. Buckingham Palace is undergoing a 10-year renovation. The cost of the Frogmore Cottage work will not be hidden. Journalists have beats for exactly these types of situations. The DM, Sun, Mirror etc will circle back to this when the damning details are available.

by Anonymousreply 72June 2, 2019 11:03 AM

Correction to R72. It's may not be not more cost effective but it's usually more budget friendly to fund a large project over a longer period of time.

by Anonymousreply 73June 2, 2019 11:05 AM

How can they live with a baby at Frogmore during renovations? They couldn’t live there during the vegetable garden installment. But they can live there while the windows and doors are being replaced?

by Anonymousreply 74June 2, 2019 11:10 AM

R74, it's a BIG house. Long. They can live in the opposite end to the renovations.

by Anonymousreply 75June 2, 2019 11:11 AM

It depends on what is involved in each job R74. Window and door installation could be noisy workers and handheld power tools. A garden installation could be a digger, soil dump, fresh manure, and compost.

by Anonymousreply 76June 2, 2019 11:19 AM

No, r70, I've never once mentioned the "Darren Doll", nor do I ever engage with any of that stuff. You are clinically insane.

by Anonymousreply 77June 2, 2019 11:21 AM

More staff members left the Cambridge household after Kate joined, and reportedly due to Kate and her mum being such nightmares to work for. Most of the staffers who left the Sussexes either left for a promotion (like the staffer who left to become Meghan's personal adviser), left the RF completely, or had already announced plans to leave before Meghan entered the picture. Of course all those departures were still blamed on her.

Now they've separated their households, of course they will need new staff. Can you imagine the outrage if they "stole" the Cambridges' staff away from KP?

by Anonymousreply 78June 2, 2019 11:21 AM

This is what people like Meghan do. They’re a hurricane of chaos. Nothing is ever simple and straight-forward. The only facet of Harry’s life that is stable and predictable right now is his grandmother. And he should thank his unlucky stars for her, and hope she lives long enough to get him through this. He’s headed for the drain.

by Anonymousreply 79June 2, 2019 11:23 AM

Which one of you bitches?...: “bookfiend, Dublin, Ireland, 32 minutes ago Can you imagine highly intelligent and mature diplomats agreeing to be employed by a man who were it not for his position by accident of birth, would be working at McDonald's drive in, and intellectually fit for not much more. The very fact that he was stupid enough to bring this woman into the family against every sensible word in his ear only compounds his grade A thickness. As for the suitcase carrying burger griller, it's far from any kind of diplomacy she has ever displayed. She must crave Amal Clooney's position in life. That would have been far more suitable for Sparkles. A power couple who do as they please. All in good time.“

by Anonymousreply 80June 2, 2019 11:26 AM

Can you post articles to attest to your claim that, like Meghan, Catherine 'lost all her staff right after she joined the RF', r78?

Because I don't remember ever hearing that about Catherine. Only Meghan.

by Anonymousreply 81June 2, 2019 11:27 AM

Apart from her abusive dad, how has Meghan's life been chaotic? Her mum seems very stable and well-adjusted and they obviously have a very loving, normal, calm relationship. She's had a tight group of friends for decades, so a very stable personal life. A couple of long-term relationships and no history of messy hookups or anything. A stable career as a working actress on a TV show (TV filming is very demanding, you couldn't do it if you were chaotic). And now married and enjoying a relatively quiet life with a baby and charity work. That's the opposite of chaos.

The only chaos in her life comes from the obsessive hatred online, which I'm sure she ignores and is protected from.

by Anonymousreply 82June 2, 2019 11:29 AM

'The only facet of Harry’s life that is stable and predictable right now is his grandmother.'

You are being absurd. She's in her 90s and could die at any minute.

Meghan and his son are his stability and his future.

by Anonymousreply 83June 2, 2019 11:30 AM

[quote] The only facet of Harry’s life that is stable and predictable right now is his grandmother.

R79 I don't recall hearing that Harry has a particularly close relationship with his grandmother. HM isn't known for being conventionally maternal. That's not meant as a slight. Her "job" doesn't lend itself to PDA with anyone, including her offspring and their offspring. My point is, I don't know that she is a stable predictable element for Harry to call on if he were having marital troubles.

by Anonymousreply 84June 2, 2019 11:32 AM

R82, didn't her mother serve time for something or get convicted of bankruptcy?

by Anonymousreply 85June 2, 2019 11:33 AM

R84, the poster you're arguing with worships the Queen and sees her as the fount of all wisdom and goodness.

Harry had a cold hearted Eton childhood after Di died. It's easy to see why Meg's warm and affectionate nature won him over.

by Anonymousreply 86June 2, 2019 11:35 AM

R78 what a moronic statement. You do realise that when the Cambridge and Sussex families split, the Kensington Palace staff they both shared were given the option of choosing to go with either Will and Kate or Harry and Meghan and guess what? all the staff chose to stay with Will and Kate. The Harkles are a nightmare to work for and now they've lost Heather Wong too.

by Anonymousreply 87June 2, 2019 11:36 AM

It's easy to see why Meg's warm and affectionate nature won him over.

I'm sure the award-winning fellatio didn't hurt!

by Anonymousreply 88June 2, 2019 11:36 AM

R87 - evidence, please.

by Anonymousreply 89June 2, 2019 11:38 AM

R88, there is zero evidence of her being a prostitute or in a porn movie. Misogyny is not humour, dear.

by Anonymousreply 90June 2, 2019 11:41 AM

R90, pull the stick out of your ass. I'm not misogynistic in the least. A cock sucker is a cock sucker. Practice makes perfect, and you don't need to be a porn star or a hooker to know that. Shit, even wet brain Hairy knows that.

by Anonymousreply 91June 2, 2019 11:45 AM

R88, I always figured it was something more unconventional than fellatio. Her jaw is fearsome, however her butt is boyish like that of some of his army buddies.

by Anonymousreply 92June 2, 2019 11:47 AM

That made me laugh, R92!

by Anonymousreply 93June 2, 2019 11:48 AM

Where's the article about all the KP staff choosing to stay with Waity and the Adulterer?

by Anonymousreply 94June 2, 2019 11:56 AM

R82, I’m not sure if you’re joking. I’ll concede that seven years at the same job is pretty good for someone like Meghan Markle.

The chaos and upheaval and conflict may be viewed by her mark as “exciting” and “spontaneous” and “breath of fresh air” (especially if he’s chafing at a life of expectations and tradition, as Harry must be). At the same time, it can veer into mania and instability. It’s not a good environment for children.

by Anonymousreply 95June 2, 2019 11:57 AM

Kate didn't lose all her staff. She lost some staff early on but it settled down. There's not question that Kate's transition into the family was smoother than Meghan's.

If the KP staff were offered a choice to stay with Cambridges or move with the Sussexes, it's no surprise that they picked the former. Regardless of Meghan's personality, the Cambridges are the more practical career option.

by Anonymousreply 96June 2, 2019 11:57 AM

A question that keeps coming to mind when I read these threads is:

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

by Anonymousreply 98June 2, 2019 12:00 PM

R95, before Suits she was in her mid 20s, so just how organised was she supposed to be? She did well to secure tenure on a popular show. You act as if she was a porn actress or had a criminal record.

by Anonymousreply 99June 2, 2019 12:02 PM

R98, no we won't. Apart from spending too much money (and they are used to extravagance, the Queen Mother died 7m in debt, plus Meg has $5m of her own) what has she done? She hasn't even been seen since March and before that she tamely attended all the royal events, dressed demurely.

by Anonymousreply 100June 2, 2019 12:05 PM

Agreed, r98, except the Royal Family is not immovable. It can move - quickly, and brutally - when it finally decides to, and Meghan is not an unstoppable force. Just an as-yet unstopped force.

by Anonymousreply 101June 2, 2019 12:07 PM

R96, if the staff had cushy live in central London accommodation at KP, of course they chose that over moving out to Windsor. Not at all sure how many staff they shared. Notts Cott is tiny.

by Anonymousreply 102June 2, 2019 12:08 PM

'It can move - quickly, and brutally - when it finally decides to...'

Such hyperbole. They let Diana and Fergie loose cannon round Europe for years, having affairs. Nothing Markle can do will be as bad as the interview Di gave to Morton.

by Anonymousreply 103June 2, 2019 12:11 PM

I was re-watching the Crown on netflix yesterday, the episode when the Duke of Windsor comes back for his brother, the king's funeral. He is met with a very frosty reception and remarked to someone "With this family, when you're in, you're never quite sure that you're in. But when you're out, there's no doubt at all. You're out." - it made me think of Meghan - perhaps she is realising that she overplayed her hand and can never get back to where she feels she ought to be?

by Anonymousreply 104June 2, 2019 12:22 PM

R102 Why would you think the staff would be moving into their house? Not all royal staff get onsite accommodation. Besides, Windsor is a 30-40 minute drive.

Staying with the Cambridges is a more practical career move because their household is already established and the roles are well-defined. The Sussex household will be more work with less prestige.

by Anonymousreply 105June 2, 2019 12:26 PM

The stuff about Meghan being a prostitute, a porn star, having a string of secret marriages, secret children, her mum having been in prison but the RF covered it all up and had all records destroyed — all of these are Skippy inventions.

Obviously Meghan was never a prostitute and obviously her mum was never in prison. If any of those things were true there’d be some gossip about it, but there’s not a single word outside of the psycho hate blogs who scream about Harry being forced to carry plastic dolls around and the Queen staging fake royal wedding ceremonies. Besides their conspiracy theories don’t explain why Meghan’s dad and sister are weirdly keeping their mouths shut about genuine scandal, when they’ve run their mouths off about everything else. Face it if Doria had been in prison or Meghan secretly married, Thomas or Sam would definitely sold the stories.

by Anonymousreply 106June 2, 2019 12:30 PM

Idiot Kate sugar: google "Kate Middleton staff quit protocol" and there are dozens of articles circa 2011/2012 about the "exodus" from the Cambridge household, how Kate was a nightmare who refused to acknowledge protocol and how her mum insisted on ruling their household with a rod of iron and Will and Kate were both henpecked by her.

Kate had terrible press and rumours for years: saying that the Queen despaired of her, loads of bad press about her refusing to wear appropriate clothes, refusal to put weights in her hems, the fact she flashed her naked arse at photographers on more than one occasion, that she refused to attend certain crucial events "because it would set up the expectation that she do it every year", and of course lots of very bad press over her being workshy, a stalker, "waity Katie" etc. etc. Plus all the stuff about the Middletons being determined to set up a "rival court" to challenge the Queen, for example them throwing cheesy mini-hunts on Boxing Day using purchased tame birds to rival the famous royal Boxing Day hunt.

Meghan's had a worse ride with the press, but Kate was deeply unpopular and had massive bad press during the early years of her marriage. It's only since Meghan entered the picture that Kate has been retconned into the perfect princess who never put a foot wrong. Basically everything being said about Meghan now, was said about Kate and her parents back then. Kate even had her own 'skippies' insisting Kate was a former prostitute who'd faked all her pregnancies.

What MM is facing now is also because of sheer timing. A post-Brexit, economic crisis ridden UK is not the place and time for modernising the monarchy or social media merching or spending lavishly on Italian couture. If only she just stopped and took stock for a minute she would see that - instead she is all guns blazing fighting us poor UK taxpayers..

by Anonymousreply 109June 2, 2019 12:58 PM

R107, oh I believe it, especially if Carole was around. There’s usually a shakeup when there’s any kind of change at any organization. I survived a couple of corporate mergers in my former life. The split/merger will always shake a few old timers loose.

What will be interesting is how long the nannies stay. It’s a newly-created position, so there’s no expectation of “we’ve always done it this way”.

I reserve judgment for now.

R106, you have a point about “X would have talked by now.”

Her PR is doing the best thing by muddying the waters. For instance, we still don’t have the real story of how Harry and Meghan met. Published reports vary wildly.

There are differing published reports about which properties were gifted to them by the Queen as a wedding present. Either the Queen changed her mind, Harry and Meghan did, or someone was providing false information to the various publications.

Forget about rumors — published reports can’t even agree on a story. What are people supposed to believe?

Seems R20 is the only one with a lick of sense re: TTC. It's not about being invited, it's a BRF tradition and event...Meghan Markle is a senior member of the BRF. No amount of hooves pounding keyboards will negate that fact.

Whether she confirms attendance is another thing. As R20 has succinctly stated, she has no excuse not to attend and is probably getting her body together through exercise, diet and/or industrial-strength spanx. If she doesn't show up and uses the baby or anything else as an excuse...it better be epic and along the lines of a highly contagious disease requiring quarantine or a very close family death (and soldiering through at such a time would still be expected...British stiff upper lip and all).

She doesn't need to meet Trump or attend any functions with his mouth-breathing nutfruit. Everyone knows how he'd twist things and more negative press (with MM at the center) would follow, something the BRF is likely trying to avoid.

Wonder if Kate and Rose will talk to make sure they don't wear conflicting colors or if William will kindly play messenger between the two?

by Anonymousreply 116June 2, 2019 1:23 PM

[quote] Forget about rumors — published reports can’t even agree on a story.

These are tabloid publications who make money from speculating about which possible residence the royals could get. It's not expert evidence in a court of law (and even that isn't infallible). The tabloids make money from stirring public interest. Speculating abut the residence or how Harry and Meg met is harmless enough unless people then take that as some sign of nefarious intent.

by Anonymousreply 117June 2, 2019 1:25 PM

Trooping the Colour is basically a granny's birthday party to which the entire country is invited. I don't think anyone needs a special invitation. If Meghan isn't in an all out war with Betty, or confined to her death bed, I think she would be expected to attend the party and the BRF wouldn't intentionally discourage her from attending. The BRF benefit most from a show of unity even if they are at odds.

by Anonymousreply 118June 2, 2019 1:31 PM

The press have done a massive about-face over Kate and her family, and are now protecting them.

Objectively the Middletons have had far more scandal than the Markles. Pippa's gun scandal, father-in-law being a rapist, and the way she blatantly exploited her sister for fame and to try to build a career; her brother's Nazi scandal and fact he ran his company into the ground and had to be financially bailed out many times; her uncle the wife-beating junkie pimp who was arrested for attacking a woman in public and who funded Kate's pursuit of William; all the dodgy dealings and secret financial practices of the Middleton's party company (who of course have massively pimped out and exploited their connection to the Royals, including pimping out Archie's birth), Carole using the tabloids as mouthpieces all the time and even openly giving interviews (when Doria was castigated over a false rumour she might give an interview), the Middleton's separation, and of course plenty of scandal over Kate herself including her being photographed topless giving William blowjob on a balcony viewable from a public road.

The Middletons make the Markles look like the Waltons.

Kate and William are far more extravagant than Harry and Meghan.

Kate and William’s honeymoon cost half a million pounds, and they flew a dozen of their friends over on private jets (super weird to bring your friends on honeymoon but whatever).

They fly on private jets to foreign holidays half a dozen times a year and no one blinks, Meghan did it once (paid for by friends) and she’s treated like Marie Antoinette.

Remember when Kate and William sent their security to confiscate phones from every single other holidaymaker on their entire island in the Maldives? Demanded complete strangers, wealthy people in their own right, give up their own phones? If Meghan pulled a stunt like that the gates of hell would open.

R119, it's amazing how quickly things can be forgotten. Good ol' Fellating Kate...was this the topless incident that led to William filing a lawsuit or injunction or another? Poor Kate seemed to lose her top quit a bit in the beginning. She's a talented girl...went from playing domestic to William at St. Andrews to balcony fellatrix.

And, who could forget Carole 'Scouse Brows' Middleton and her melodramatics as the arriviste Lady of the Manor. And, dear Pippa that spread'em wide across the Continent and finally hooked a man but failed at her business, even though she worked those royal connections (which seems strange as the Middleton kids were said to work in the family business...and not one of the 3 have an iota of business-sense, which lends credence to the money a laundering front claims).

The Markle/Ragland group are storms in a teacup compared to the Middleton/Goldsmith riff-raff. MM will go through her hazing and, if she's lucky, Edo will bring up the rear and the fireworks will really start.

The goal is clearly to be cut loose from the BRF with a brand and funds. All of their actions track with that goal. The acting out seems to make being paid to leave more likely than a relocation to Africa. Withholding of $ enhances the victim narrative.

Who actually wants to hear from Duch and Dim about their latest woke merching scheme? I strongly suspect that the majority of their purported fans are imaginary or paid for through their PR campaign. No one in NY showed any interest at all.

They really need to be taken down a few pegs. That should be entertaining.

by Anonymousreply 151June 2, 2019 2:42 PM

What...William the Alpha and Saint Kate aren't going to be at the State Banquet? Is it because Rose will be there or because Trump made disparaging comments about Will's mother? Neither is a legitimate excuse but let's allow everyone a bite at the apple.

I’ve been right so far on just about everything so far. Not bad for a Yank who didn’t know these royals a year ago. So I say: Meg has her sights on America. It’s obvious to me that her PR are laying the foundation by writing poor “Meg the Martyr” pieces in NYT, WaPo, VF. She can leave and save face by claiming discrimination. We Americans don’t get to hear anything bad about Meg. We know her as the “visionary”, the “modernizer”, civil-rights advocate (!), feminist and humanitarian. And don’t forget, “famous Hollywood actress”.

The RF will pay her a ton of money to get her out. I believe the rumors about Meg having access to a $25 million pad in Upper East Side, Manhattan. On Park Avenue. Security is no problem because there are a lot of moguls living there. The tight quarters means it’s easy to keep an eye people. And the staff are well-trained to keep things private. I don’t think people will fuss over Meg at all. We NYers are pretty blase about celebs. I mean, I used to see Caroline Kennedy doing patrol duty at Collegiate School all the time, Nobody bothered her.

Why NYC? She had the baby shower there. Remember, this is the lady who. said her fondest wish growing up was to attend the Kentucky Derby!

Then she will get a job on a talk show or something. Oprah and Gayle can help.

She can have a vacation home in Malibu.

by Anonymousreply 161June 2, 2019 3:12 PM

In a completely unself interested way, R160? Cuz she is such a humanitarian?

Nah, girlfriend was working it and that was the near the bottom of the Zs place she was in at the time. He was a means to an end until he triggered the narcissistic rage. Bitch acted like she forgot the camera was rolling when she tried to put him in his place.

by Anonymousreply 162June 2, 2019 3:14 PM

But why would the royal family pay them to go away? it makes no sense. If they don't toe the line, as Harry seems to be trying to do at the moment, then they'll get less and less. And by toe the line I include being a working royal of some description. If they want to go their own way I suppose the only reason they might be paid is to keep them from generating too much bad publicity but the BRF didn't pay Diana loads to silence her did they? she got a divorce settlement and that was it. And if they did pay then it didn't work.

I would have thought generating any kind of bad publicity would reflect badly on themselves as much anyone else anyway.

by Anonymousreply 163June 2, 2019 3:24 PM

To continue from R163 - I know the Duke of Windsor and Wallace Simpson were given a generous stipend to go away and live abroad but he was an ex-king and they had to do something with him. An agreement was made to support him while he and his wife left the country and stayed out of the way.

by Anonymousreply 164June 2, 2019 3:29 PM

R161, I'm sorry...you've been right about what exactly?

MM would have to be stupid planning an exit so soon back to the lost colony. America is for people like Fergie...personas non grata that needed a place to lay low before ingratiating themselves back into the BRF.

If she's as big a schemer as people say...why leave? The BRF isn't chasing her away; she's not some minor royal like Princess Michael of Kent aka Schnitzel (still laughing at that but goodness, can children be mean). She's a senior royal. She needs to put on her big girl pants and get with the program; running away isn't for strong-willed people like her.

As for Meghan...she's played the game so well. Now is not the time to mess up and turn things into amateur hour. Harry can only protect her so much and the New Mommy shield can only be used for so long. She has to let go of the press behavior that was acceptable during her time as an actress and transition.

I root for Meghan but I won't support foolishness. She should take a page from Kate's book and stop being so willful on certain matters. Kate only flashed her ass because she refused hem weights; Meghan is unwisely challenging an institution.

by Anonymousreply 165June 2, 2019 3:30 PM

R163, the big difference is that Diana was a divorcee. Harry and Meghan are still an intact pair. A family, even.

by Anonymousreply 166June 2, 2019 3:33 PM

R164 The Duke of Windsor also had bargaining power as he owned Sandringham and Balmoral, George had to buy them back from him.

by Anonymousreply 167June 2, 2019 3:33 PM

R165, that's from your perspective. Maybe from M's perspective, America is the big time and her end game wasn't being a life-long member of the BRF, but rather being a member of the leisure class (and a global humanitarian, lol). Time will tell.

by Anonymousreply 168June 2, 2019 3:39 PM

You're off your rocker r161 if you think the BRF is going to be buying MM property worth $25million. She's the wife of the 6th in line to the throne. Hierarchy is everything with those folks. Her direct equivalent is Fergie as the wife of the second son, although arguably Fergie was more important than her because she was married to the Monarch's son. MM is only married to the heir's second son. MM is seen as extravagant, the public would not take kindly to seeing her with a big pay off. This would blow back onto the BRF.

by Anonymousreply 169June 2, 2019 3:39 PM

R85 You don't get convicted of bankruptcy. You file for it. If Doria filed for bankruptcy, it would be in the public record. Find it.

by Anonymousreply 170June 2, 2019 3:52 PM

Another vote for thinking the BRF won't pay her to go away. Most of the public are, at best, apathetic towards her. A sizable amount dislike her. The BRF will continue to isolate her and place more focus on other members. Does Harry's recent uptick in performing royal duties signify that he's sticking with the BRF (as opposed to running off to LA with MM)? If so, that's one less person in her corner. Will her new found 'friends' stick by her if she leaves? Perhaps for a short bit, but they won't want to tarnish their reputation and they only associate with her because she is in the BRF. She's trapped.

by Anonymousreply 171June 2, 2019 3:52 PM

Exactly R166, Diana had a pay-off as a divorce settlement. I'm no saying if Harry and Meghan decided to leave they'd get nothing at all - but then again, Harry already has the money left to him by Diana, but I don't see how there would be some big payday for them, just less and less not more and more.

by Anonymousreply 172June 2, 2019 4:04 PM

BRF have also learned a lot from the divorce era, like all of the very wealthy. She has no hope in being able to get that level payout when everything is locked up tight.

by Anonymousreply 173June 2, 2019 4:07 PM

What leverage is it that Rach perceives herself to have? From her perspective? From his perspective? I am struggling to understand their strategy. She may think Chuck is on her side, he has been quite absent and seemed to coddle her a bit at that Investature. Do they think they can embarrass the BRF into giving them money?

If the Rose story can be traced back to her that would seem to have been a serious error.

Is the purported 300 income Harry has in dollars or pounds? Either way, not much for someone with a child and polo ponies to support.

Rach seems to have had delusions of grandeur and megalomania since childhood. It is astonishing that she went from her sex-ay burger grilling to the BRF in just a few years. That family keeps making the same mistake over and over re: American grifters.

Even football players said nope. She was older, she is difficult and there are many far more attractive women in the world. How many had even seen her cable drama? What were the ratings?

by Anonymousreply 174June 2, 2019 4:09 PM

I thought I read both Doria and Thomas had filed for bankruptcy at some point. I think MM’s income and worth is over inflated for sure - but if it’s not.. she had millions and didn’t help her parents who (as she did post and say - even as late as in the VF article) supported her while she was struggling to make it??

by Anonymousreply 175June 2, 2019 4:14 PM

Well, the Enquirer says she wants to bolt. Insisted no way in hell is she going to Africa. If she has to go, she’s going to America. Sometimes they do get things right. Like the Bezos divorce story. I just thought it’s no big deal for the Queen to part with some of her $88b. But Rich people are very stingy with their money. It was reported that Amal and Serena are helping her financially with the apartment. Dunno. I think the royals are going to lose this one big. Meg’s PR are stoking the racism narrative in America. And Priyanka said the same thing today. It will get ugly. Brace yourselves.

by Anonymousreply 176June 2, 2019 4:15 PM

Meg has the winning hand. Race card.

by Anonymousreply 177June 2, 2019 4:17 PM

The race card has been overplayed so fucking much, it wields less and less power every time

by Anonymousreply 178June 2, 2019 4:18 PM

I think that is why embarrassing and discrediting stories about her are no longer being blocked, R176. I do think that very, very few people care.

The BRF is supported by the taxpayers of the UK, who would be happy to see her gone. It is not some manipulated SM game in the States that matters.

by Anonymousreply 179June 2, 2019 4:18 PM

For sure, R178.

WHY are they helping her financially? Are she and Harry already living apart? If it is true, which is debatable, just goes to the hypocrisy of Anal and Orca, assisting the truly privileged, rather than the needy. Fucking globalist tools pretending to be the trendy label of the day. Like big game hunter Dim banging on about conservation, never mind menstrual health. MeMe cannot wield that one too much longer, she will be in menopause soon enough. Ha.

by Anonymousreply 180June 2, 2019 4:21 PM

Up thread someone posted pictures of William playing with Zara’s daughter... now I’m curious. Have we really never seen Harry playing with any related children? William’s or others’? I know we get the photo ops with Harry’s appearances and such with kids. But is it an exaggeration or have we really never seen any non posed photos with Harry playing with kids?

by Anonymousreply 181June 2, 2019 4:25 PM

R161, if Meghan does move to NYC, she may be dismayed at how ignored she will be - in most places.

If she wanted special attention, she would have to make appearances where tourists congregate. Bodyguards and hired paps would call attention to the VIP.

r176, The Queen is old money. A lot of her money is tied up in the country and not actually her money. Old money is very frugal. The Queen's cereal is delivered to her in tupperware. Why would she want to reward the grifter with some of her money? If there is to be a pay out it would have to come from Hazza. The British courts recently ruled that - thanks to Tessy of Luxembourg - the wife cannot expect a pay out based on the family wealth. She can only expect a pay out based on the husband's income and assets.

by Anonymousreply 184June 2, 2019 4:26 PM

I see the two Megstans on here were busy spreading their fat asses defending the narc. I could tell because so many posts were missing and checked the ignore and there they were! --busy claiming Frogwhore is some mansion that the Hazbeans can hide in (it's not that big--about the size of a large suburban home, no more than 6000 sq ft at the generous most). Insisting they are long time DL posters (they're not). Making up lies whole cloth like their cow idol. As much as they screech it doesn't change the reality Meghan is losing ground in popularity and support at an unprecedented level, especially so soon after having given birth.

by Anonymousreply 185June 2, 2019 4:27 PM

Do you count him knocking the heads of 2 young boys together at a walkabout, R181? They looked upset, it must have hurt.

Related children, never.

Dim and Rach are complete PR fabrications.

Re: the Cambridges, it is hard to fake recorded interactions with kids, their own, relatives, at appearances.

by Anonymousreply 186June 2, 2019 4:28 PM

Sunday Times today. Priyanka: it’s 100% racism about Meg.

by Anonymousreply 187June 2, 2019 4:29 PM

Meghan's not going anywhere any time soon, these are (boring) fantasies at best.

The other royals being more visible makes sense: the older generation is aging out and Charles' plan on reducing the BRF to himself, Camilla and his sons and their respective families isn't sensible or feasible long-term. HM and Prince Philip are notorious workhorses, talk less of the Princess Royal. This is a business and unless they want to stop receiving government assistance, they need all hands on deck.

Which means all royals doing their part, especially the younger generation. It's not about icing out Meghan (wishful think at best) but about keeping The Firm going.

The only person that can push Meghan out is Meghan.

by Anonymousreply 188June 2, 2019 4:32 PM

R177, the race card and THE CHILD.

It’s how scammers ultimately extort money. Grandparents can’t stop giving money to their addict loser children or they won’t get to see their grandkids. Siblings and exes give money or the kids go hungry.

by Anonymousreply 189June 2, 2019 4:33 PM

Timing is interesting given her very recent denial of the VF visit story. Was that to give this more credibility or was she leaned on? The poor citizens and taxpayers of the UK, footing the bill whilst being smeared in the rags by foreigners. Perhaps it is time to pull the financing? This would wrap up pretty quickly.

by Anonymousreply 190June 2, 2019 4:34 PM

Doubt that the BRF would be so sad to see Archie move to LA, R189. It is not like they have bonded with him, he was just born.

I do not think that will be the leverage they are counting on when it comes down to it.

by Anonymousreply 191June 2, 2019 4:35 PM

Priyanka is a Sunshine Sachs Sister. I’m sure a visit to Master Awwwchie is on her calendar.

by Anonymousreply 192June 2, 2019 4:36 PM

Ok watching that video at R128, I have a different take. I figure, just like in the movies, she pulled some of this on Harry, and the jaded Prince would be charmed by someone so refreshingly unimpressed with his title and unwilling to take his shit. He probably loved her sassy act, thought she was incredibly sharp and witty and an intellectual. “No, Will, mate, you don’t understand. She’s different, not fazed by all of ...this...at all.” You can certainly see the tungsten there.

by Anonymousreply 193June 2, 2019 4:38 PM

R190, I agree! Didn’t Meghan blow off her wedding? I’m sure that statement was fulfilling some obligation or publicity action plan by SS. Guess we know who’s top dog on the SS roster.

by Anonymousreply 194June 2, 2019 4:38 PM

I cannot imagine for much longer, R194.

by Anonymousreply 195June 2, 2019 4:42 PM

R168 - I agree. The UK and weekly little events waving at small crowds and taking flowers from kids is going to pall quickly and constantly being under the cool eye of BP, as well. She'll be dreaming already of what it would be like to take her fame and wealth, even if said wealth isn't quite what she thought it would be, and being free to parlay it into Something Bigger.

I just don't see her spending the next 40 years doing the royal bit. Two kids and she's out of there.

by Anonymousreply 196June 2, 2019 4:43 PM

R191, agree that they haven’t bonded. But they do care about the optics. It’ll be painted as The Queen doesn’t care about her little black grandchild. Or some twatjuice like that. Trust me, they’ll spin it.

by Anonymousreply 197June 2, 2019 4:44 PM

What do people rate the odds of Something Bigger? That should be a future poll.

Does she genuinely think she is the next Gayle or Orca? Anal? Angelina? Cuz, no one else does and young people do not care about any of those people anyway.

Harry will wrap it up unless he is even dumber than a box of hair.

by Anonymousreply 198June 2, 2019 4:49 PM

Public support and/or popularity does not, cannot and will not remove Meghan or any other royal bride from the BRF. Only divorce will do that.

And, depending on how much public assistance is received for living expenses, the Sussexes would be wise to cut their coat to their size. Being financially unrealistic got Andrew in trouble with that white elephant he called a home. Barely had a bean to his name and spent as if water was coming out of the faucet.

It's clear some of you have never owned property or nice things...upkeep costs money. Landscaping, pools, plumbing, housekeeping...the general maintenance required in a regular family home can be cost prohibitive, talk less of when dealing with royal property that is generations old. Talking about 6,000 sq feet as if it's nothing. Some of you are hilariously insane.

by Anonymousreply 199June 2, 2019 4:50 PM

R174, I don't know about the Suits ratings, but we do know that she was not a star in the US. One of the late night host's jokes was something like: An American actress from the USA network's Suits is engaged to Prince Harry. The most surprising thing about that is that there is a show called Suits on the USA network."

However, globally, it was very popular. I live in Europe and was constantly hearing from people I work with about it. I was always baffled because I keep up with American TV and had never heard of it. I finally watched the first episode and ending turning it off when I realized it's just a nighttime soap.

by Anonymousreply 200June 2, 2019 4:52 PM

Pryanka CHAKRA now cited as an authority on ANYTHING makes a sunny day even sunnier!! Thanks for the laffs Mrs. Jonas. We look forward to your ascension to Prime Minister of India!!

by Anonymousreply 201June 2, 2019 4:56 PM

Agree, R201. The delusions of these people.

Interesting, R200, especially in light of her misperception that the American public is likely to have any genuine or sustained interest in her or her spawn.

Chopra looks more like the mother and the wife. He churned through so many beards they must have been getting desperate.

by Anonymousreply 202June 2, 2019 4:58 PM

I like how Fergie is popping up more and more. She was there at the Trooping rehearsal with her whole brood, and Andy. As if they never got divorced. Megs can take some examples from a grifter who REALLY has game, Sarah is resilient as hell. Good for her. At least she has noble and royal blood on her family tree, and has The Queen (discreetly) in her corner.

by Anonymousreply 203June 2, 2019 4:59 PM

I agree, R 193, and I think she mixed the sassy with some other elements: playing up her hard-won success with no family support and making him feel masculine and protective (see the way she hangs on him in public). I imagine she is complete control of the relationship .... tungsten!

by Anonymousreply 204June 2, 2019 5:01 PM

But that goes to how weak and simple minded he is, R204. And without a core sense of self. Otherwise her simpering and literal hanging on would be off putting rather than making him feel manly.

MM played on Harry's white knight sensibilities but has probably also been demanding and tantrumy behind the scenes. There has to be a bit of him that chafes at being under her yoke. Despite how dim he appears to be, he will eventually come to a head with her.

by Anonymousreply 207June 2, 2019 5:19 PM

I would totally work for the Harkles! Obviously it would be a miserable position for a time, but the tell-all bestseller to be written? And then the TV movie or Netflix series? It would be worth it. Suck up the pain now, so that you can dish later.

Now - and THIS IS KEY - you MUST find a way to put a wedge in your Harkle contract so that you can spill beans later. Whether it's publishing in the U.S. vs. U.K. or under another name, just make sure you're got some ironclad independence for what Americans call 1st Ammendment and Press Freedom and Truth is an Absolute Defense, etc. etc.

Otherwise you're a hopeless dolt.

by Anonymousreply 208June 2, 2019 5:19 PM

Priyanka Chopra, another one of those overly surgeried Hollywood women, though in PC's case she was pretty before and now just looks okay. Also it's clear she's fighting against her natural fuller body weight to stay starlet thin, her weight fluctuates as much as Oprah in the 90s. Everyone in India knows about PC's multiple plastic surgeries, including a badly botched rhinoplasty that almost ruined her face, rumor was that she had to undergo last-ditch surgery in London. But now her nose just looks odd, very odd, the bridge of her nose is the dead giveaway.

I find it funny that self-professed feminist Meghan is friends with self-loathing women who have plastic surgery to confine to traditional standards of beauty. Jessica with her whole fucking face of fillers, botox, and breast implants. Priyanka with surgeries to erase ethnic features. Of course Meghan herself with the nose tweaks, jawline slimming, and harsh chemical hair straightening.

Thanks for the laughs, 'ladies'! Confusing gossip with fanfic...it never ends with you guys.

Let's look at the latest 'scoop' from BP (by way of DL):

1. The BRF doesn't care about Archie because he's so young and they haven't bonded with him. 2. Meghan is a drug addict. 3. Fergie being a grifter is excusable because she has noble and royal blood (careful there...your hood showed for a minute). 4. Piggy Chops speaking up for her friend means she's got aspirations of her own. 5. The BRF is going to pay off Meghan. 6. The BRF is not going to pay off Meghan. 7. The Queen is siding with Fergie (about what, they don't say. Maybe HM was raised with decency and doesn't see the need to alienate the mother of her beloved grandchildren because of past mistakes?) 8. Frogmore Cottage is a small dump. 9. Meghan and Harry's divorce settlement is being worked out, even though the involved couple likely has no idea their marriage has reached such straits.

That's just from the last few posts and they have been stated as FACT. These gals are a riot! Wouldn't trust them with sharp items but they really are creative...it's amazing how a mind can wander and how fertile the imagination can be.

by Anonymousreply 210June 2, 2019 5:22 PM

Philip will be 98 in just over a week's time. If he lives a few more years, he'll break his mother-in-law's record for longest-lived queen/prince consort (101 years).

R119, Is it Sunday Bottomless Brunch in your timezone? You are drunk as a skunk!

by Anonymousreply 212June 2, 2019 5:24 PM

Having surgery to conform to patriarchal and/or racial beauty ideals is not an inherently anti-feminist act, it is the result of anti-feminism, it is part of the reason why women need feminism, but it is not in and of itself anti-feminist.

It is also not a feminist act, and if a woman were to demand that other women need surgery then that wold be an anti-feminist act, but these women aren't doing that.

Please stop blaming women for embodying and enacting the results of patriarchal structures, it just makes you look confused and like you are (as ever on these boards) desperate to blame women for the harm that patriarchal society does to women, so much so that it's not just these women to blame, it is their friends too, for merely associating with them.

by Anonymousreply 213June 2, 2019 5:25 PM

by Anonymousreply 216June 2, 2019 5:28 PM

Cough, Piers, cough, 214, though I debate whether he felt cheated of round 1 or of round 2 in the loo of that pub?

I had forgotten the rescue schtick on her SM. She is like a test of the power of media to brainwash, all other visible documentation to the contrary, lol. SS really seems a bit delusional as well. Too much blow?

pointofview, AnyTown, United States, 2 hours ago

I thought Markle sounded great at first. Then learned she left her dog behind, after preaching animal rescue on her Instagram. Then there was the humanitarian's ridiculous engagement dress, then her poor father...her actions belied her words, over and over again. That is why people turned against her.

by Anonymousreply 217June 2, 2019 5:33 PM

Of course it does, and the expectation of female ageless perfection is bound up with patriarchal social structures, no 'choice' is made in a vacuum. It is the visible marks of social structure in a male-dominated, youth-obsessed, society, but it is not anti-feminist as R209 was trying to claim.

by Anonymousreply 218June 2, 2019 5:34 PM

R177 - Seriously? The Queen of Spades?

Diana was the Princess of Hearts, but okay...

by Anonymousreply 220June 2, 2019 5:36 PM

R176. Yes, it's going to be tragic when the American taxpayers revolt because the British Royal Family isn't treating the American Duchess of Difficult according to American sensibilities. Why, there might have to be fireworks and hot dogs on the 4th of July to express that level of disapproval!

by Anonymousreply 221June 2, 2019 5:38 PM

R215 I'm not surprised that a slop bucket like you would confuse fan fiction with gossip. Your speculations are based on far-fetched, made up scenarios, with generous dollops of hypocrisy.

I have no issue with differing opinions, dear. I take umbrage at having hot garbage served up as if it's meant to be palatable. Your gossip is not gossip but ramblings that are bordering on racist and homophobic.

It's all in black and white for anyone to read but I'll stay right here, thank you very much. I, like Meghan, will leave when I decide. Not one moment sooner.

by Anonymousreply 222June 2, 2019 5:39 PM

You have something in common with your duchess! She doesn't own any property, either.

by Anonymousreply 227June 2, 2019 5:49 PM

Get off your high horse R213 with lecturing on feminism. Are you an academic expert on how people should or shouldn't think on such sociopolitical matters? If so then go fuck off to the political sites or if not then go fuck off anyways. You'e on the only one who's taken a couple of women's studies courses at university . Point is, focus on one's appearance is fine, plastic surgery to improve looks is also fine, it's your face/ body so do what you want with it. But for a wealthy actress whose had surgeries, but goes on and on about empowerment and being proud feminist/ being ethnicity or race X, then that's something that warrants public critique. People can see hypocrisy for what it is, we don't need a fucking dissertation here.

R216 Yes it is. People who focus on their own looks are nothing new, and they'll justify that they look good when in fact they don't (looking at you Jessica Mulroney). Sadly, the ones that focus too much on looks are also materialistic in other ways and they tend to attach more values to things/ status than people. It's not pathological per se because we all know and interact with people like that in daily life, we just know them to be shallow, materialistic twats and avoid them. Focusing too much on looks can also be related to insecurity that's unrelated to outward appearance.

Much wiser posters than I have pointed out the fun begins around 1:57. Shortly afterward, Smega hired someone to begin a PR offensive against the Cambs, but it's all transparent.

So interesting (and by interesting, I mean yawningly predictable) that this month's Suckexx Self-Promotion website is dominated by American foundations. by Anonymousreply 237June 2, 2019 6:19 PM

No lovely I'm fine here thanks. Far from me needing a safe space it sounds like my point has provoked some defensiveness in you?

by Anonymousreply 238June 2, 2019 6:22 PM

I think London seemed like a step up from Toronto and she wanted to be a British reality tv star. Thus she needed to raise her profile there with a footballer, X Factor loser, or, cough, Piers. No one seemed interested in having her hitch her star to their bank account although Piers clearly wanted a blowie or a repeat. She already knew she could not make it in LA, so she was angling toward a smaller pond.

by Anonymousreply 239June 2, 2019 6:25 PM

R234 - because she doesn't have an original thought in her head. Gwyneth did it and divorced it, and all Meg really wanted to be was a low-rent Canadian GOOP. Angelina's doing it. It seemed like a perfect way to seem more cultured. The problem was that she was too obvious and most of them saw through her. The entire British football community took a hard pass. But Harry was stupid enough to say yes - even with his brother, friends, and comrades-in-arms saying "Dude - NO. Just no."

by Anonymousreply 242June 2, 2019 6:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 244June 2, 2019 6:31 PM

by Anonymousreply 245June 2, 2019 6:31 PM

R213 R230, as opposed to you starting the whole shit by calling me "confused" and "desperate"? Like R237 said, go back to your safe space as DL is obviously not a healthy place for your fragile psyche. Let the big girls/ boys here go on with our bitchery without having the thought police patrolling around.

by Anonymousreply 246June 2, 2019 6:32 PM

I thought that Trump was referring to that whole #metoo “Nasty Woman” like Ashley Judd and Hillary et al. Like, part of the feminist movement. Although he could have just meant she’s a nasty person in general. Not the first adjective that comes to mind when thinking of MM, but whatever.

He’s a piece of shit, so I won’t waste any more brain cells on the matter.

Kate’s the only one who’s ever had sex on camera (albeit stills camera, and without knowing she was being papped blowing William).

The most Meghan did in the grilling video was tie her shirt to show a little bit of her belly.

You're just reflecting my own points back at my R246. I pointed out that you don't seem to cope well with disagreement because you made a point, I disagreed, and you flew off the handle at me. telling me to 'fuck off' etc. You were the one who was being disagreed with and not coping with it. So maybe you need leave the big boys and girls to it if you can't handle it and you're still coming back at me many posts later? This is not helping anyone.

by Anonymousreply 250June 2, 2019 6:36 PM

No R248, there seems to be a lot of people triggered over this and none of them are me. hush now.

FFS again, this is a gossip-bitchery thread where we call out royal bitches and their friends for talking out of both sides of their Restylane-filled lips, etc... Deal with it. R234 and R239, agree that London and an English boyfriend had to do with her role model Goop, and maybe Madonna too what with her 90s frame of reference. I don't blame her for trying her luck elsewhere, LA must be horrible for women, especially a mid-30s biracial one (in terms of jobs). I can't wait for the inevitable tell all of how she managed to land Harry.

by Anonymousreply 267June 2, 2019 6:58 PM

It will be Prince Andrew who escorts Trump to singular events - some art gallery, that kind of thing. I guess they knew each other back when he was Randy Andy. But Andrew is pretty far down the rung of the Royal Family to be the official escort a President of the United States. Maybe everybody else refused. And Parliament did not invite Trump to speak. And there was no room for Trump at Buckingham Palace.

The schedule is not looking so glamorous for Trump.

I’m sure if Dump tried to crouch down his fat ass would split his pants, revealing his shit stained grandpa briefs. I don’t think the children would be able to conceal their revulsion anyway, with his orange spray tan and yellow hair. Charlotte would run crying to her mother. In fact, I hope the children ARE rude and horrible to Dump and it goes viral.

by Anonymousreply 280June 2, 2019 7:10 PM

R273 is right on. They should have sent him away to boarding school at a young age and not given him a “liberal” upbringing. And what about Eton? I thought those schools knocked some character into the boys. He should have stayed in the army. Was badly advised.

by Anonymousreply 281June 2, 2019 7:11 PM

R279, given Charles' weirdo attitude, it probably is.

by Anonymousreply 282June 2, 2019 7:13 PM

Harry was allowed to coast without ever having to try cause ~poor diana~. Wasn't there a whole situation where he needed a teacher to pass his finals and Eton fired the teacher after it came out. I'm assuming she'd have been fired for refusing to help the idiot. And he was too dumb to take the written officer exam so he dropped out of the military, and then the Queen makes him an honourary major.

His whole life is a joke.

R278 - the Cambridges will ensure that none of their children are anywhere near the Orange Turd.

by Anonymousreply 284June 2, 2019 7:15 PM

I've read several different versions of Harry's reason for leaving the army. One is that the Queen wanted him to carry out more royal duties. Another is that he didn't want to take the test required to advance, and yet another is that his location was exposed so he was increasingly a security risk. Does anyone know the truth of it?

Don't get all butthurt then pretend it's all just bitchy fun and I'm the one who can't take it, it's too obvious.

Also, in what world is 'reflecting' some obscure academic term? it's a normal word that normal people use. In pretending to patronise me about 'taking a psychology class' I think you've shown more than you meant to.

by Anonymousreply 296June 2, 2019 7:56 PM

Queen Mary is from a different era, that's for sure, R293. She was poor growing up as an HSH, got lucky in her engagement to the (dullard) Duke of Clarence & Avondale, he kicks its, got the spare as a consolation prize and proceeds to buy up the jewels of her dethroned/newly impoverished relations.

Some of the BRFs jewelry hasn't been seen/worn publicly due to where they came from and how they were acquired. I like a woman that is scrappy and ready to claw her way to the top and stay there...fuck being nice and polite. Queen Mary laid the groundwork for some of these new girls...we've seen too many fail over the decades, so clearly they're not doing research.

No one comes close to her steely determination and icyness...maybe Letizia of Spain but she's got a long way to go still.

by Anonymousreply 297June 2, 2019 8:06 PM

Oh dear, you just have to be embarrassed for posters such as r62, r107, etc.etc. They are too damn gullible to realize that their seething envy of Catherine and her loving family is shining through. These are the sort who have such sad pathetic lives that they live vicariously through a wannabe like Meghan. She validates them. So embarrassing. They make up ridiculous lies about William and Catherine to detract from the fact that their idol is a common ho. Meghan Stan Nicole Cliffe made up the rumors about Prince William and she admitted it herself on her social media accounts. Is a prerequisite for Meghan supporters to be so incurably stupid or is that just your natural inclination?

by Anonymousreply 298June 2, 2019 8:26 PM

by Anonymousreply 306June 2, 2019 8:56 PM

It's funny, when I was younger I used to think of 'bad marriages' as quite an abstract things I suppose, I couldn't relate. I still can't in the sense that I haven't experienced it. But now, the thought of being tied to someone, pretending to the world that you're happy and in love, all the while knowing that they don't care about you and would probably prefer not to be in your company/that you weren't there, would be excruciating. I feel so sorry for anyone in that situation who for whatever reason can't get out, and (even worse) loves the unloving partner. It would basically be a life of ceaseless rejection.

Beatrice needs to wrap this Edo situation up, quickly.

by Anonymousreply 316June 2, 2019 9:11 PM

I was reading Pope-Hennessey's Queen Mary bio last night, and apparently George V rushed his son David to be invested as Prince of Wales because the King's own father, Edward VIII, made George wait over a year to be declared Prince of Wales, and George always resented it. Queen Mary worried that David, only 16, was too young. David complained about the silly get-up he'd have to wear and worried that his friends at school would make fun of him. His mother assured him that his friends would understand that, as a Prince, David would sometimes have to do things that made him look silly.

The reason Snowdon had to commission a PoW coronet for Charles is because David took the 1911 version with him, and wouldn't give it back.

OMG...Lord Snowden. I forgot all about that moral train wreck. He planned the investiture?

The fact they let that bamboozler plan such an event, says a lot about how the BRF cares for their own as long as you play the game.

by Anonymousreply 320June 2, 2019 9:18 PM

The RF has the original 1911 PoW coronet back now, so William or George would be able to use it if they liked.

I don't know if we'll see another PoW investiture ceremony until George is 21. I don't think Charles will outlive his mother.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 321June 2, 2019 9:18 PM

by Anonymousreply 322June 2, 2019 9:21 PM

I hope the PoW outlives his mother and father; no parent should have to bury their child.

That's the sad reality of monarchy...you only get promoted when someone dies.

by Anonymousreply 323June 2, 2019 9:23 PM

The BRF do have David's coronet back now. It wasn't returned until after his death in 1972. He wasn't supposed to take it with him, anyway:

[quote]When the former King Edward VIII of the United Kingdom went into exile as the Duke of Windsor in 1936, he took with him the Coronet of George, Prince of Wales, a highly controversial – and illegal – act. This coronet had, since 1902, been used only at his father's coronation, and at his own investiture, both in 1911. The 1911 coronet, as part of the British Crown Jewels was protected under the law of the United Kingdom, which forbids removal of the British Crown Jewels from the United Kingdom under any circumstances. Even seemingly legitimate uses of the Crown Jewels outside of the United Kingdom were precluded because of this law. For example, a new crown – Imperial Crown of India – had to be manufactured for King George V to wear as Emperor of India at the Delhi Durbar because the Imperial State Crown, which he might normally have worn, could not be removed from the UK. However it was judged impractical to charge the ex-king with in effect stealing part of the crown jewels. The coronet was only returned to the United Kingdom following his death in 1972 and is now part of the Honours of the Principality of Wales.

by Anonymousreply 336June 2, 2019 10:15 PM

R193 (and one other who chimed in) I totally agree with you regarding that video of Meghan and the reporter. That's not narc rage, that's a very specific brand of charm. Reporter is loving every minute of being flirted with by the much-better-looking-than-him actress and I'm pretty sure it was this exact behaviour, as you mentioned (I'm sassy! And not impressed by princes!) that first hooked Haz.

Women like that are Marmite to men. Some men LOVE and can't get enough of them, others are immediately put off by what they see as a challenge or a lack of deference. In my experience it is very often men of high status and self confidence who go for ladies with that kind of attitude. They're not at all used to being 'challenged' (single quotes because I doubt it was ever actual challenge from Meghan - it was a tactic, and a successful one at that) and when someone does, especially a pretty girl, the right guy can become a besotted husband in a jiffy.

I've noticed a lot of antis (I am one) seem to need to see Meghan as entirely evil and bad. You see this with a lot of anti-fandoms (and fandoms). It's almost a splitting kind of behaviour (psych term, pls Google). Beloved celebs are 100% virtuous and good and excuses will be made even if they're found to have a side hobby of murdering kittens. Hated celebs are all multiple personality disordered, promiscuous (esp. if female), ugly, criminal, completely evil and have no redeeming qualities.

It's an unsubtle and kind of boring way to come at things. There's more than enough to dislike about Meghan without having to pretend she's ugly (she's not), that her pregnancy was faked (it wasn't), or that she's been hatching this plan to marry Harry and ditch the royal family with him for years (she hasn't - you guys, she was PMing Matt fucking Cardle and other Z-Listers just before she met our Hazza! She was probably just as shocked as anyone at her success in landing him. Remember that shot of her exclaiming "FUCK!" to Harry after the post-wedding carriage ride? One of her realest moments, imo).

by Anonymousreply 337June 2, 2019 10:20 PM

R119 - Another Meghanstan troll. Carole Middleton kept entirely silent and discreet until last year, when, after her daughter and William had been married for eyars and had three kids, she gave all of 2-3 bland interviews. Until then, she kept her mouth shut. There is no evidence of the separation, and while no one would ever deny that Carole's social ambitions for her daughters were quite as power as Meghan's were for herself, the difference is that Carole, being British, knew what to tell her daughters about how to behave, how to get it, and how not to bite the hands that deed you.

The Middletons make Meghan look as grasping, stupid, short-sighted, and narcissistic as . . . she really is. The bottom line is, Kate knew how to work for the Firm; Meghan is too stupid to hide the fact that she's working for herself.

Meghan made Kate look golden. The Middletons did everything right. The only thing Meghan knew how to do right was on her knees in front of Harry.

She didn't "stalk" him - she waited, she stayed closed, she kept her mouth shut, her legs open, was there whenever he snapped her fingers, and she didn't have to break his arm for him to propose. They've known each other since unversity. Williman had plenty of time and opportunity to find other prospects. In the end, he always came back to Kate. The idea that she is in an unloving relationship is the dearest fantasy of Meghanstan trolls.

From the very beginning, a lot of straight males were saying “Her?” “Isn’t she like 36 and divorced?” “Can’t he do better than that?” Which was exactly what all the males in Harry’s life were telling him. I think if they had not been so vocal, Harry might not have rushed things and avoided this mess.

His money was already locked up, all he officially has is that 300k annual income from the trust. Nobody would be able to break open the trust and everything else comes from the sovereign or his father.

The grifters will still come, R343. After this, it is like he has MARK on his forehead in neon letters.

I would fantasize that rehab could help but he has ALWAYS had little to poor judgment. Thank God that William was born first. that he would not listen to long term friends or his brother shows how poor his judgment and character are - he seems motivated mainly by: I WILL SHOW YOU!!! I do wonder if he has undiagnosed learning disabilities or ADHD. He seemed to struggle as a child and still seems quite impulsive.

by Anonymousreply 344June 2, 2019 10:43 PM

R344 is crazy.

by Anonymousreply 345June 2, 2019 10:47 PM

The York girls are playing it up for the cameras with Swangin' Dick Edo...love it! Eugenie seems to realize how silly it all is while Bea is just...Bea.

I love to bag on her but she seems all right. But, really...isn't there some heir to a Dukedom, Marquessate or Earldom that Bea could latch on to? With a stately pile, a town home in London and oodles of cash?

Edo is cute and but...will she support them? What about his son? I mean...I could never but...why, Bea?

by Anonymousreply 346June 2, 2019 10:47 PM

Meghan’s arms are huge in that pic. She must have been retaining tons of fluid. That dress is doing her zero favors. This is why I don’t think she’ll show for the TOTC. She’ll wait until she’s stick thin again.

by Anonymousreply 347June 2, 2019 10:47 PM

It was a super odd clothing choice, R347.

by Anonymousreply 348June 2, 2019 10:49 PM

I watched the video at R128 with the sound off. What in the world happened at the 4:07 mark? She laughed hard before that point and then it seems something goes amiss in her mouth and she ducks her head to fix it.

I don't think it's narc rage at all, but she was definitely a bit miffed at 4:48 when the reporter looks over her shoulder to see who else is there. I probably would have felt the same..

by Anonymousreply 349June 2, 2019 10:55 PM

Narcs always narc.

by Anonymousreply 350June 2, 2019 11:03 PM

R326, I don't know about you but fleeing to the Continent to avoid creditors and scrounging off relatives means that by royal standards, the Tecks were poor. She was an HSH amongst HRHs, HIHs, and HI&RHs...she felt it, especially at a time when people were sticklers for class and hierarchy.

She got a boon when she was chosen for Eddy and ultimately the last laugh, becoming Queen and Empress Consort and buying up the jewelry of her former 'betters' for practical songs.

I don't believe that William settled for Kate. I agree that the fact that it took so long for them to get married suggests that there was/is a power imbalance in the relationship. But let's be honest, he could have had his pick of women. He didn't have to stay with his university girlfriend and marry her if he didn't want to. He was one of the most eligible bachelors in the world (especially in his early twenties, when he was still extremely handsome). Whoever married him would later become the Queen of the United Kingdom, and her first-born would eventually take the throne!

I also think the claims that Harry had to settle for Meghan are ridiculous. He was only 33 when he married her - I expect that's roughly the age of a first-time groom in the UK. Yes, he's slipped down to sixth in the line of succession - so what? There are probably loads of women who would rather remain an eternal duchess/princess than ever become Queen (all the glamour with less pressure and scrutiny). And even aside from the fact that he's a royal, he's an A-list celebrity. Our society is completely fame-obsessed. Harry married Meghan because he wanted to, simple as that.

by Anonymousreply 353June 2, 2019 11:08 PM

Typically in a red carpet interview, being miffed would be a bit more hidden, but full on bitch came out. Going after where someone is from and where they went to school? Really inappropriate. He probably had to keep the flow going, it was not like your boyfriend picking someone up at a party in front or you, but to her, anything but fawning over every scrap of word salad and the claws came out. Likely a factor in why her career never really went anywhere, among other reasons. Megalomaniac and narc.

He could have done so much better, unless causing tension in his family was a primary goal.

by Anonymousreply 354June 2, 2019 11:11 PM

Eh, but a look in the mirror should have led MeMe and her stylist to keep weighing options, R252. She really should hire the person who styled her for Suits, she looked a LOT better.

She makes a less dramatic but still bizarre mouth movement at :18 in the R128 video.

by Anonymousreply 357June 2, 2019 11:18 PM

We've repeatedly seen the mouth movement. I suspect it has something to do with jaw surgery gone sideways.

by Anonymousreply 360June 2, 2019 11:29 PM

The video someone posted in the last thread of MM on the Larry Wilmore show is equally cringeworthy but for other reasons. When Larry introduced the panel she mouthed 'thank you' as if he just gave her a compliment. At times during the segment she leaned over and outstretched her arms in an attempt to touch Larry. He looked at her like he couldn't believe how she was acting. I used to think that her touchy-feely ways with Harry were a put on, a show. Now I think she can't help it. She can't keep herself from touching others because she knows it is a way to hold their attention. To keep their attention from wandering to another.

by Anonymousreply 363June 2, 2019 11:34 PM

R347 - She's definitely one of those women who got very big during pregnancy. Anyone who looks at the footage/pics from that intro to Archie photocall and thinks she didn't give birth is nutty. She looks swollen, bloated and uncomfortable.

I've thought since those photos that her appearance (or not) at the Trooping the Colour would depend almost 100% on to what extent she's managed to regain her pre-pregnancy looks since then. If she does show up and she hasn't snapped back entirely, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

She does have a solid excuse for not showing for Trump OR TtC, though, which is maternity leave, isn't the correct? I mean, isn't she officially still on it? As others have said, she's Hazza's wife. There's no 'invite' to be withheld. She can go if she wants to. As for Trump, if it was anyone else there might be more pressure for her to show up but it's fairly obvious everyone in the RF hates him (except Randy, possibly) so I don't think HM is going to be losing any sleep over it. It's not plausible that she's bee 'ordered' to show up for Trumpy and she's bravely saying no. She's just got a good, solid excuse. The rest of them are probably jealous af.

by Anonymousreply 364June 2, 2019 11:35 PM

Express says Louis will appear on the balcony post TTC. I admit I kind of want Will and Kate to have another one. A girl, hopefully. If Hazbean produce another (and I believe they will and probably in short order) I hope it's a girl, too. Royal girls are more entertaining.

by Anonymousreply 365June 2, 2019 11:38 PM

R360, Kaiser (from the website “Celebitchy”) and her band of loonies are trying to exert control of the narrative here on the DL. They hate Kate and worship Meghan. You know that Meghan is single-handedly responsible for bringing the RF into the limelight right? The RF are nothing without Smegma. That’s why they come over here to bash Kate. They need to give it up and stay in the echo chamber that is Celebitchy.

by Anonymousreply 382June 3, 2019 1:40 AM

I wonder if the posters who believe Bea could bag a rich duke, marquis or earl also believe in elves and fairies?

Let's be realistic. She is a homely girl who is unlikely to come into her inheritance for another 30+ years. Edo and social climbing men like him are probably as good as it will get if she wants a hottie. If she's willing to consider a more homely suitor (like Zara or Celia McCorquodale did) then she might find someone who actually likes her more than her future money.

by Anonymousreply 383June 3, 2019 2:20 AM

I love Edo but he is much too good looking for her and his whole past with the toddler is shady. Bea can do better.

by Anonymousreply 384June 3, 2019 2:24 AM

R384 If she could have done better she would have. She's a 4 at best and she seems to like guys who are 7 and above. She looks set to be cheated on or divorced.

by Anonymousreply 385June 3, 2019 2:28 AM

I don't understand Edo's interest in her.

by Anonymousreply 386June 3, 2019 2:30 AM

R383, I think she could, only because of her title/position. If she were just some rich girl, no fucking way.

Same as Harry.

by Anonymousreply 387June 3, 2019 2:31 AM

"...a wine that I had that was an a-ha moment, Tignanello (teenyanello), which people sort of pronounce Tignanello (tig-na-nello) here in the States..." (about 00:56)

Christ. Fuck off. She's insufferable. I only watched about 30 seconds of that interview and caught that bit, as well as Larry King being shamelessly obvious about how utterly uninterested he is in anything she has to say.

BUT, you guys, in making this post I Googled the wine to see if I had the spelling right and randomly found a link (attached) with the following blurb for Tignanello:

"Made by Marchesi Antinori, one of Italy's most important producers, Tig has given many a connoisseur that aha! moment: experiencing the body, structure and finish of a truly fine wine and finally 'getting it.'"

They (further Googling reveals this is the Liquor Control Board of Ontario) are straight up quoting Meghan Markle in their sales blurb. No attribution, either. That's interesting, though, is it not? Why are they even quoting her if they're not going to use her name? So weird. OR WAS SHE MERCHING ALL THE WAY BACK THEN?! *Twilight Zone music fades in*

Ha ha, I don't really think that's merching. Just interesting that LCBO is using the quote without saying who said it. What's the fun in that? Tell the wine loving Canadian masses that Meghan Markle herself endorses the tipple and watch them storm the liquor stores to get their hands on it!

Also just want to say that I accept the proposal for a threeway marriage from R375 and R377 (I am R321 from the previous thread and R376 from this thread, hater of knitters and Macaron towers).

by Anonymousreply 388June 3, 2019 2:31 AM

R383 Whilst I recognize that no one is going to be mistaking Bea for a supermodel, she is not straight up ugly. She's quite average in my estimation, not a person who would turn my head on the street due to her looks (in a positive or negative sense). And people sometimes forget that male British aristos come in more flavours than the one Harry and William both lucked into - that is the tall, rangy, often very good looking when young, strong jawed and deep voiced flavour. They also come in weak-chinned, pigeon-chested and generally stunted/puny variety. There are definitely a number of posh men in the UK who are objectively uglier than Bea.

There is also the fact that many aristocrats, in particular the eye-wateringly rich ones, have more to think about than how sexually attracted they are when it comes to potential mates. Again, I am not trying to convince anyone that Bea is a super high value prospect or that she secretly has loads of eligible men in pursuit, but she IS the granddaughter of the monarch/a princess of the blood and that's worth something to some people.

by Anonymousreply 389June 3, 2019 2:43 AM

R387 IMO Harry is not nearly as homely as Bea. This thread wants to believe he's a goblin but he's 6.5 with hair. The title and grand wedding may push him up to a 7.

Men with money aren't going to marry an ugly girl because she has a title. They don't get a title from marrying her. Their money can get then prettier girls. Her target demographic is men who are in the outer orbit of that circle and they're hoping her father will bank roll their life, give them contacts to his Gulf friends, or both. She gets real money when her father dies if her mother hasn't burned through it. The men she has attracted so far don't seem to type to hold on for 3 decades.

There are less attractive men Bea could consider. She doesn't seem inclined to explore those options.

Some attractive men cheat but so do some ugly men. Perhaps she's decided she's prefer the former rather than the latter.

Now, now. Bea will end up with an absolutely adorable bridegroom. She's fine!

by Anonymousreply 394June 3, 2019 3:39 AM

There's no way that Meghan could meet Trump because she's following the Chinese tradition of postpartum confinement for 1 month. The Chinese believe that the practice is important for both the health of the baby and the mother. Staying indoors prevents the newborn from catching outside germs. The mother also needs some time to rest and heal especially if there is vaginal tearing.

A vaginal tear is a spontaneous (meaning a doctor didn't make a cut) laceration to the perineum (the area between the vagina and rectum) that occurs when the baby is pushed out. "Hopefully, the vagina will stretch just enough without tearing, but often a tear does happen." The tear can be painful and may require several stitches.

by Anonymousreply 406June 3, 2019 5:18 AM

R406, they don't choose girls who aren't pretty for Dealz or No Deal, you fugly fool. She got her Suits job because she was highly photogenic, as well as a decent actress. Her face has great angles. Harry fell hard for her primarily because she's attractive.

by Anonymousreply 407June 3, 2019 5:26 AM

R337, yep to all of that. It's interesting about fandoms, how they tend to go all in. I guess it's human nature to see things black and white and get caught up in a mob mentality, hence the contant Kate v Meghan fighting. It's so boring, though. As you wrote, Meghan provides us with plenty to snark about without having to resort to "boxy figure, chicken legs!/merching!/Doria was in prison!/salad tossing!" (I still haven't bothered to urban dictionary "salad tossing.")

by Anonymousreply 408June 3, 2019 5:27 AM

Meghan's face is a 7 and her body is a 5 in my book, because she's skinny. If she gains weight the body goes down because she doesn't have the curves to carry more weight attractively.

R437 MM made those remarks about Trump on Larry Whitmore's Show that was broadcast May 4, 2016. She voiced her opinion before she ever met Harry. MM's blind date with Harry was in July of 2016. .

by Anonymousreply 441June 3, 2019 11:07 AM

Ironic that MM calls anybody "divisive", since that word belongs to her. She lacks the ability to see what a hypocrite she is.

by Anonymousreply 442June 3, 2019 11:08 AM

Ugh Trump's fucking late.

Going back to William and whoever said he could have had his pick of women: William could have had his pick of regular (working class or middle class) girls who watched Disney movies and had princess fantasies. None of those women would be considered suitable as future Queen and I doubt William would be interested in someone who's not "posh". In terms of dating/sex he could have had his pick of upper class/aristocratic women. But very few if no upper class/aristocratic woman were willing to actually marry him, and there were several women he wanted who turned him down.

I know non-Brits and people not from that circle think "being Queen one day" is just the most desirable thing ever, but it's really not. No aristocrat wants to sign up for a life of zero privacy, constant scrutiny, not allowed a career of their own choosing, forced to work (and really boring work), forced to abide by stifling protocol, not allowed to choose where to live, have to live in places far less nice than that of their peers, etc. etc. Aristocratic young women would far rather marry a super-rich banker or earl where they can lead a life of total privacy and luxury and leisure (either not work at all or have the money and connections to pursue any career that interests them) than spend the rest of their lives opening community centres in Hull and letting their gran-in-law dictate what clothes they have to wear.

Plus the Royal Family are sort of looked down on (as "German arrivistes") by old English aristocracy, and everyone knows how toxic things in that family can be.

William should thank his lucky stars for Kate. Her background was middle class (and God did she get tortured for it) but she had the connections, education and money to move in upper class society. She was willing to tolerate all the indignities heaped upon her. And she clearly desperately wanted the job, and was willing to suffer the "waity" years to get there.

That DND woman made reference to the girls acting as caddies at charity golf events.

caddies, lol

MM really seems to believe her own fake PR, as does Harry, whereas the rest of us can see a huge gulf between the image and what they DO.

Well, some people are like that. And the rest of the world laughs at them, or in the case of Grift and Dim, boos them.

by Anonymousreply 449June 3, 2019 11:21 AM

r440 Interesting, that stuff the Sun has published about The Tig and Ivanka has been on tumblr for ages. I know tumblr is crazy but those bitches have receipts up the wazoo. I wonder how many journo's have been lurking there.

Did you just see the arrival of the trumps arriving at Buckingham Palace. I have to admit it was very well done. 41 + 41 gun salute. PoW and Camilla met them and took them to the Queen then the royal guard. Trumps wife looked fabulous. I can just see all the liberals in the uk spitting their tea out. While flying their lovely ballon flying over London. My god this Queen has class

It is literally her job, R452.

The job Grift thinks is hers to shake up since the brand of fitting in was taken.

What, Melania was not flashing her bra, did not have tags hanging, did not look for every camera? State occasions and political visits are work, not express yourself like a 6th grader occasions. This visit is about D Day. Everything to MeMe is about HERSELF and she takes no pains to hide it.

by Anonymousreply 454June 3, 2019 11:38 AM

by Anonymousreply 455June 3, 2019 11:39 AM

I'm thoroughly sick of the long, straight, parted in the middle hag do that Ivanka sports. That style is impossible to kill, though, evidently. I was perusing one of the local papers the other day and they had pictures of twelve up-and-coming female athletes, and almost without exception the hair was long, straight and parted in the middle. And these were young women. It didn't look good on any of them. What gives with that fucking hair?

by Anonymousreply 457June 3, 2019 11:42 AM

The ladies look wonderful. The Queen, Camiller, and Melania.

by Anonymousreply 458June 3, 2019 11:44 AM

I want Kate to show up at the dinner tonight looking regal, fit, happy, and of course, beautiful. I want her to be sporting some drop dead gorgeous gown and jewels that are reserved only for members of the BRF who actually matter. It'll be interesting to see what the Slovenian goat herding First Lady will wear - she's looking rather pretty lately.

by Anonymousreply 459June 3, 2019 11:46 AM

Camilla looks lovely in that frock ( I'm watching BBC News live stream, so no pics, but will be in all the press ). It's the lunch now, yes? So I guess Harry is about, somewhere. No need for him to be at that grand welcome we are watching.

by Anonymousreply 460June 3, 2019 11:46 AM

R443 is correct, very few suitable women wanted to sign up to the scrutiny of being married to William or Harry. Lots of women would line up to have affairs to them, but few people want to be followed around by paps and media scrutiny, when it comes down to it.

Looking forward to all the drama the Trump visit brings!

by Anonymousreply 461June 3, 2019 11:46 AM

I don't know about Melania but for most of us it's the easiest hair style to manage R457. All those women with very styled hairdos you see on tv and film, and special events, must take a long time and a lot of money to make it like that. Most real women want something that they don't have to spend ages on every day because we have better things to do.

by Anonymousreply 462June 3, 2019 11:46 AM

And without his wife present, R460, Harry did not barge right in!

by Anonymousreply 468June 3, 2019 11:50 AM

by Anonymousreply 469June 3, 2019 11:51 AM

Ooh, the “Princess and the Demagogue”. NYT opinion piece. Never heard so much about princesses since I was in the second grade. Nah, Meg isn’t better-looking than Melania. Give it up. And Mel is so much better-behaved.

by Anonymousreply 470June 3, 2019 11:51 AM

[quote] All those women with very styled hairdos you see on tv and film, and special events, must take a long time and a lot of money to make it like that.

It's not like Melania or Ivanka have those.

by Anonymousreply 471June 3, 2019 11:52 AM

Melania has already worn one outfit by a british company and wore an outfit that had a nod to the UK, yesterday. Even though she didn't want her job, she appears to understand the significance of what she wears, unlike Sparkle.

by Anonymousreply 472June 3, 2019 11:52 AM

Oh, I totally understand, R462, about the ease of such a style. Providing you have a head of healthy, full, straight hair. But the women I know spend a shit load of time getting their hair sleek and shiny.

by Anonymousreply 473June 3, 2019 11:52 AM

The hair is very Marcia Brady.

by Anonymousreply 474June 3, 2019 11:55 AM

by Anonymousreply 475June 3, 2019 11:56 AM

by Anonymousreply 476June 3, 2019 11:56 AM

Good point r472. MeGain could take a hint (or five) from Melania, actually

by Anonymousreply 477June 3, 2019 11:57 AM

Yes R471 - that's why I said 'I don't know about" them - ie. this is likely not the reason for them, but that that is the reason for other women to not do their hair like that. I was responding to someone citing Ivanka but making a general point about women's hair and talking about lots of female athletes he'd seen photographs of. Look at the original conversation before getting snarky.

by Anonymousreply 478June 3, 2019 11:58 AM

Fair point R473, I probably underestimate how much time and money some ordinary women spend on their hair.

by Anonymousreply 479June 3, 2019 12:03 PM

Forget Trump. As I said before this was for the Americans. To show how much U.K. values them. I have to admit everyone behaved wonderful an both sides. I was very proud for both sides. Anyone who wants to bitch about it is mental. This was a time for PoW has to show he can be the next King.

A Sunshine Sachs strategy is clearly to try to link anyone who looks askance at the burger grilling suitcase girl with worship of Trump. It is a strategy.

Since there is so little positive to promote about Me-Gain, they have resorted to smear tactics.

Rach does not want to take notes from anyone. She wants ALL the perks and money of the BRF and to create a lucrative brand that is anti-BRF.

Welp, that is a tough balance to strike. Wisely they are giving her few opportunities to act out like a tween. The Investature antics will not be so easy to repeat. If the Rose story was her planted PR, as seems increasingly likely, she is already on a trajectory out. Resisting assignment to Africa, per the weekend story, will not help her.

I think we should all use the word welp as much as possible. The troll may have to be medicated!

Looking forward to the tiaras and gowns tonight. Wonder if Harry will attend. After the Investature, they would be remiss to allow Flower to attend state functions. No tiaras for you!

Melania had been having some health issues, but looks well now. I liked her hat. Charles seems to be acquitting himself well. No one wants or can afford a loose cannon on the scene, with D Day as a pretext, important trade is on the line.

Sparkle should never have been allowed her own PR that was in opposition to the BRF and specific members. So much of these roles is statescraft. Perhaps she could have learned something about it in her embassy internship if she had not run off with some older man. Always looking to climb up by dick, our Flower. Watching this, I will be surprised if she is allowed at Trooping. Given the recent antics in camera range, all for attention, why not just shut it down from the jump? That is a very strange handshake between the Queen and Trump. The Queen doesn't extend a full American style handshake involving the palms, but rather she extends the front half of her hand. It seems like Trump doesn't know how to deal with it. Recall that he has had awkward, prolonged handshakes with other heads of state like Macron where he holds on longer than appropriate and keeps tugging the recipient toward him. It's an attempt at dominance over the other.

Has he walked in front of HM or turned his back to her yet? I keep trying to imagine the White House protocol officer trying to "train" him like an old unhousebroken dog.

This morning, MSNBC was going crazy about the “nasty” comment by Trump. Which is fine, because he’s a piece of shit. But the overcompensation spilled over into effusive praise for Meghan Markle.

Did you know she’s BY FAR a bigger celebrity than he is? Because that’s all that matters? I’d say MM is better than Trump — by any measure. But that’s how MSNBC compares them: who’s the bigger celebrity?

What that says about our society and media...

by Anonymousreply 528June 3, 2019 1:15 PM

The degree to which she is promoted is astonishing, R528.

Looking forward to the tiaras tonight! The Queen, Camilla and Kate will be wearing the GOOD stuff.

Too bad Meg was not invited.

Wonder if the York girls will be there?

by Anonymousreply 529June 3, 2019 1:20 PM

Popularity is now the end all and be all, R528. That's why Meg lovers have to remind us every hour how many more "likes" MM has than Kate. That's the standard by which everybody is rated these days. Personality, integrity, and intelligence are no longer valued. It's all about how many likes you have.

by Anonymousreply 530June 3, 2019 1:21 PM

I'm wondering about the York girls, too, R529, they have been high profile recently. I would LOVE to see them there.

by Anonymousreply 531June 3, 2019 1:22 PM

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE GLAMOUR!

by Anonymousreply 532June 3, 2019 1:25 PM

Meghan is in an odd position, and a difficult one really (maternity leave aside), because being humanitarian and against the misogyny of men like Trump was part of her brand and (the in relation to the Trump part anyway) I'm sure something she really believed in. Because he's vile. But now she's in the royal family it is literally her job to be apolitical and smile and nod and keep quiet for diplomatic reasons.

Like someone said in a previous thread, the royal family cannot be partisan in anyway because if they don't represent everyone in the country, at least nominally, then the institution is useless, and they are the only institution that can do that.

She's out of it for the moment but there may be other times in the future where she has to do these things, and she certainly can't voice any dissension publicly. I don't envy her but it literally is what pays her wages.

In all of this I'm reminded of the Ishiguro novel The Remains of The Day in which a very old-fashioned English butler forces himself to attend to the man who caused the death of his son without saying a word, because he believed in duty above all else.

by Anonymousreply 533June 3, 2019 1:27 PM

OMG, is THAT what Remains of the Day was about?

by Anonymousreply 534June 3, 2019 1:29 PM

Well the theme of 'duty above all else' is central to the novel, but the bit with him attending to the man who caused his son's death (I think through negligence in military command IIRC) is just a small part of that. It's a v good book, love Ishiguro.

God I'm confusing myself here, I've got two Sky feeds on, I think the Kay Burleigh one is awful, so I'm inside the Abbey, instead. Much better feed.

by Anonymousreply 544June 3, 2019 2:05 PM

I gagged with you smirking cringe should never have been allowed her own PR that was in opposition to the BRF and specific members. So much of these roles is statescraft. Perhaps she could have learned something about it in her embassy internship if she had not run off with some older man. Always looking to climb up by dick, our Flower. Lord Doom should keep her away from any appearance unless she’s at the back and never be given the opportunity to talk. Unfortunately unless Lord Doom can get rid of her coven he will fail

by Anonymousreply 545June 3, 2019 2:06 PM

He didn't fist bump her. Actually what he did was peculiarly 19thC. Lady extends a sort of half-hand, and the gentleman grasps the fingers only, not the palm, and holds them with his palm down. To meet palms was, back then, considered something reserved for men and symbolic of there being no weapons in either hand.

by Anonymousreply 546June 3, 2019 2:08 PM

Hilariously, he is now in Westminster Abbey, meeting and greeting, with repeated shouts of "Fuck Trump" echoing from the outside into the Abbey.

by Anonymousreply 547June 3, 2019 2:10 PM

R267 MM wanted an English boyfriend because of Madonna and Paltrow? What a crock of shit. Some people are very attracted to Englishmen. Many have a sharp wit, sense of humor and appreciate eccentricity. They also have lives outside of their jobs. Plus, London is a great city (now if they could just stop the moped gangs, knifings, acid attacks, money-laundering, high price of housing and incubation of terrorists, it would be more like it was in early 90s.

by Anonymousreply 548June 3, 2019 2:10 PM

R546 Oh, stop. We've all seen the video. It was a fist bump.

by Anonymousreply 549June 3, 2019 2:12 PM

I think Melania looks lovely in all of her outfits. The hat she wore was bespoke to fit with the outfit. Finally some who knows how to wear bespoke.

by Anonymousreply 550June 3, 2019 2:14 PM

Melania seems almost overcome with emotion as the choir sings. Powerful stuff, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

by Anonymousreply 551June 3, 2019 2:15 PM

Ok, r549, if you say so.

by Anonymousreply 552June 3, 2019 2:18 PM

R55o Melania's dresses were over $4,000 a piece. Why no criticism of her but endless bitching what MM spends?

by Anonymousreply 553June 3, 2019 2:20 PM

r553, Please learn the difference between the wife of a Head of State and the wife of a minor Royal 6th in line. $4000 per dress is actually not that outrageous given Melania's role.

by Anonymousreply 554June 3, 2019 2:22 PM

r553 Because a) Melania is the wife of a Head of State, they're allowed to spend more money. Sparkle is the wife of a minor royal who should not be spending more than the Head of State or wives of the heirs b) Melania looks elegant and each outfit is well coordinated and c) I'm not paying for it from my taxes.

by Anonymousreply 555June 3, 2019 2:26 PM

R500. Because the taxpayers don’t pay for it. Smirk. Doesn’t give a shit if the poor taxpayers of the Uk while can hardly pay their bills doesn’t mind wearing a 80;000 pound dress to a cocktail party. So go figure that out

by Anonymousreply 556June 3, 2019 2:30 PM

I agree. With 555-554

by Anonymousreply 557June 3, 2019 2:33 PM

Not much protesting when the Saudi Crown Prince, who regularly executes people, not least gays, visited the Queen.

by Anonymousreply 558June 3, 2019 2:41 PM

Plus Melania looks classy not a mess.

by Anonymousreply 559June 3, 2019 2:42 PM

The mayor of London would whet his knickers if he ever saw him. My god. These protesters will only protest against people that they know can’t fight back.

by Anonymousreply 560June 3, 2019 2:45 PM

Sorry wet not whet

by Anonymousreply 561June 3, 2019 2:47 PM

The BBC and other media never primed these people to throw a right fit for the Saudi, that would be racist and islamophobic. We can't be having that in 21st century london.

by Anonymousreply 562June 3, 2019 2:48 PM

Quite right, r559. Melania has quite a demure mien. Very elegant and correct throughout, so far.

by Anonymousreply 563June 3, 2019 2:49 PM

Exactly, r562

by Anonymousreply 564June 3, 2019 2:49 PM

Glad to see a tiny bit of love for Melania. I can't help liking her for some reason. She does have a very high waist, though - or is it long legs? I wonder if that makes her challenging to dress.

by Anonymousreply 565June 3, 2019 2:54 PM

Exactly it’s all about money for them. I really feel sad that people don’t realise these liberals especially but also most of the other parties eg Blair and virtue labour have personal business with them.

by Anonymousreply 566June 3, 2019 2:54 PM

I have been very impressed with Melania so far, can we do a swap? You take Meghan back and we'll keep Melania!

by Anonymousreply 567June 3, 2019 2:55 PM

I'm loving Melania, what a class act. Can we keep her as R567 said?

by Anonymousreply 568June 3, 2019 2:56 PM

I’m dying to see what they wear tonight and who’s there.

by Anonymousreply 569June 3, 2019 2:56 PM

Didn't notice that it was Harry escorting Ivanka into the exhibition room.

by Anonymousreply 570June 3, 2019 2:57 PM

Harry goes out of his way to ignore Ivanka in the clip I saw.

by Anonymousreply 571June 3, 2019 2:58 PM

Forgot the link, duh.

by Anonymousreply 572June 3, 2019 2:58 PM

Yeah, Melania is a real peach.

by Anonymousreply 573June 3, 2019 2:59 PM

Agree that Ivanka's hairdo is terrible.

by Anonymousreply 574June 3, 2019 3:00 PM

Clarence House next, for tea, and apparently we'll get pictures.

by Anonymousreply 575June 3, 2019 3:01 PM

Beginning around 3:52, you can see Harry stepping away from Ivanka, turning his back to her and talking to everyone but her.

by Anonymousreply 576June 3, 2019 3:02 PM

Has Camilla changed already? That was quick.

by Anonymousreply 577June 3, 2019 3:02 PM

567. Absolutely Melania is welcome anytime. MeGain we will give for free as long as she’s out of the UK lol. I have a feeling though your in the UK. We have been trying forever for some country to take but sadly every country keeps saying NO. We will buy her ticket so don’t worry about that. Please please good as new only 20 owners, runs brilliant, fab conversational skills, part time vegan, etc.

by Anonymousreply 578June 3, 2019 3:05 PM

Only 20 owners, that's rather generous, lol.

by Anonymousreply 579June 3, 2019 3:08 PM

It’s tea time. And she didn’t go to the church. Harry is supposed to be there should be interesting.

by Anonymousreply 580June 3, 2019 3:08 PM

Harry should screw Ivanka, then tell her dad, that'll will even the score with his mom and wife

by Anonymousreply 581June 3, 2019 3:09 PM

579 hardly used. She likes to use

by Anonymousreply 582June 3, 2019 3:10 PM

One shouldn't judge by photos, of course, but Harry does look a bit sulky. Can't blame him, really. Poor guy, always some embarrassment involving his wife.

by Anonymousreply 583June 3, 2019 3:10 PM

581. Actually that would be perfect 😂😂😂

by Anonymousreply 584June 3, 2019 3:12 PM

"Now, Harry. I believe it goes without saying that we will show the utmost courtesy to the President and his wife."

"Yes, Gran. Understood."

"Is it? I do hope it is."

"Absolutely."

by Anonymousreply 585June 3, 2019 3:14 PM

There is so much odd prurience and pearl clutching about women having sex on these threads - about Meghan, Kate and even Pippa. I find it really odd that such regressive ideas are maintained in DL of all places.

by Anonymousreply 586June 3, 2019 3:14 PM

R583, what possible embarrassment would his wife be causing, seeing as she hasn’t done or said squat. Could it be Harry is embarrassed because he’s forced to be there, when Drumpf talked about boning his mother? After she was dead? Could it?

by Anonymousreply 587June 3, 2019 3:16 PM

583 are u joking he doesn’t know how to be embarrassed. He’s sulking and being a complete dick because LORD DOOM is making him. Actually I used to like him. Since he’s married the grifter I think his real personality has come out. Maybe I’m wrong. I hope so because he was always our boy

by Anonymousreply 588June 3, 2019 3:17 PM

All personal feelings should be put aside when part of this visit is to honour D-Day.

by Anonymousreply 589June 3, 2019 3:17 PM

The horror, being expected to act as a professional adult in a supposedly important role while your old gran is doing her part to make sure an important economic/military ally is treated with dignity. All while Parliament refuses to be proper because 'orange man is bad'.

Poor Harry, truly the eternally suffering ginger.

by Anonymousreply 590June 3, 2019 3:18 PM

589 your absolutely correct. I’m sorry was just having some fun between intervals

by Anonymousreply 591June 3, 2019 3:20 PM

Did you lose any family during this time ?

by Anonymousreply 592June 3, 2019 3:22 PM

Oh I didn't mean YOU R591, I meant Harry :-)

by Anonymousreply 593June 3, 2019 3:24 PM

by Anonymousreply 594June 3, 2019 3:27 PM

590 now I know ur full of shit. He the ginger harry nothing he had 6 sas guards who protected him. He was pulled out before any danger.

by Anonymousreply 595June 3, 2019 3:28 PM

Ok the tea party has started

by Anonymousreply 596June 3, 2019 3:29 PM

Oh to be a fly on the wall of the tea Party.....

by Anonymousreply 597June 3, 2019 3:31 PM

R595, ok, now I’m just annoyed. When you reference another poster, put an “r” in front of the number. Otherwise we have to go hunting! See what I just did, r595?

by Anonymousreply 598June 3, 2019 3:31 PM

And of course D D au is very important. I basically lost 2 great uncles. I lived through desert storm while all the very rich ran away.

by Anonymousreply 599June 3, 2019 3:31 PM

This is the royals and we will enjoy it thank you.

by Anonymousreply 600June 3, 2019 3:33 PM

Meghan quite liked Ivanka until it no longer served her.

by Anonymousreply 601June 3, 2019 3:37 PM

Yeah, she went back and changed the url to the interview on her blog to Ivanka Drumpf, at some point.

by Anonymousreply 602June 3, 2019 3:40 PM

"Like someone said in a previous thread, the royal family cannot be partisan in anyway because if they don't represent everyone in the country, at least nominally, then the institution is useless, and they are the only institution that can do that.

She's out of it for the moment but there may be other times in the future where she has to do these things, and she certainly can't voice any dissension publicly. I don't envy her but it literally is what pays her wages."

Agreed, R533. This is just my opinion, but this aspect of royal life is going to be the thing that causes Meghan Markle to walk. It's just too much to expect from someone who has lived independently for 36 years to turn into a Stepford robot and simply follow orders and keep quiet.

Maybe it's projection but I think MM will reach a breaking point over having to keep her mouth shut over political issues and acting nice towards dictators, corrupt kings, etc. Eventually she's going to have had enough of this bullshit and she's going to take her kids and leave (and I can't blame her).

by Anonymousreply 603June 3, 2019 3:48 PM

r603, she chose to marry into that family. The deal would have been made very, very clear to her. She can't now cry foul because she thought by marrying the sixth in line to the thone she was somehow in a position to change the way things are. If she was unwilling to conform she shouldn't have married in.
