He is awaiting trial for possibly attempted murder charges during a robbery in Los Angeles. He has a nice trust fund from his mother Farrah Fawcett. I guess it’s drug related but why the violence.
He has been in L.A. County Jail since May of 2018.

Parents: Farrah Fawcett, Ryan O’Neal
Good-looking parents who procreated such a vile-looking and nasty child with no lips at all. Mutation caused by radiation while she was pregnant with him?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 24, 2019 1:04 PM |
Ryan O'Neal clearly carries particularly degraded genes given to addiction and mental illness. Combine that with Farrah being a space cadet totally uninterested in parenting and apparently with quite the drug problem herself through Redmond's formative years, and lots and lots of money. It's amazing it's taken this long for him to have killed somebody.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 24, 2019 1:39 PM |
Ryan O Neal is the biggest fucking disaster. He's like a tornado, he destroys everything in his life. His poor kids. Though I gotta say Redmond is the ugliest motherfucker.

Redmond looks like a redneck. He looks like he was born in a trailer park in the Ozarks and not the offspring of two rich Hollywood types. Guess Ryan and Farrah’s wt sides of the family’s genes expressed themselves with a vengeance in Redmond.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 24, 2019 5:23 PM |
R11 That would be Michael Jackson. They died the same day, with Farrah first, then knocked completely out of the news by MJ's unexpected sudden death.

My cat's name is Redmond.
He is a very sweet boy who would never do drugs or hurt anyone.
Except last night, I went to the bathroom and when I came back he was eating my slice of pizza.

by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 24, 2019 5:41 PM |
R11 Ryan O'Neal was giving a press conference in the driveway of Farrah Fawcett's just minutes after she died. Suddenly, all the reporters start to pack up and pull away. Ryan is speaking, crying, but everybody is leaving!
"What the hell is going on?" Ryan snapped. Michael Jackson had just died. A BIGGER celebrity the press had to cover.
Poor Ryan was devastated. Oh yeah, and he was also upset about Farrah's death.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 24, 2019 5:45 PM |
The documentary felt like it was purely to get Ryan and Alana Stewart the attention that they were deprived of due to MJ death. Sad cancer story - but she wasn’t a hero. She was pretty. And she raised a totally messed up kid. Or you could blame her for the idea of ever having a kid when she knew Ryan’s issues with himself, her and his kids. Bringing a child into that situation was cruel. There was never any hope.

I own a little vintage shop in DTLA. About a year ago, a goony looking dude high as fuck comes into my shop with another guy and he starts loading his backpack with stickers and some other cheap stuff I kept near the door. He had meth scabs and really freaked me out so I called my husband and asked him to head to our shop (we live a block away). I didn't care about the cheap stuff too much but he put a somewhat valuable stack of old sheet music in his bag. He headed out and down an alley where my hubby confronted him. Goony dude tried to hit my husband, so my hubby pepper sprayed the fucker. A few days later I see the goony dude on the news and turns out it's Redmond O'Neal. Guess I got off lucky as he tried to kill someone a day or two after the event at my shop. LA-where even the thieves are famous. Also, the police were called...on my husband. He's Latino so no surprise there.

R20 R21 Farrah did some good work too and got plenty critical acclaim for several of movies. The Burning Bed, Extremities (the play and the movie), Small Sacrifices, The Apostle to name the most successful efforts. She didn't prove herself as a serious actress until was too old to get many parts in movies outside of TV. Women have a much smaller window for that then men do.

ABC's primetime documentaries have descended into tabloid sensationalism. This Farrah one was totally unnecessary - she had very little talent or intellect and was not the trailblazer they made her out to be. Also Redmond's murder attempt was fueled by homo hate.

There is no way a sane woman would ever have been in a relationship with Ryan - period. She had to have MAJOR issues and be totally dickmatized to be with him more than a weekend. And knowing he fucked up Tatum, to have a child with him is the epitome of selfish insanity. Her interview on Letterman where she was drugged or just insane was enough for me to be done with her. It’s too bad she got cancer, no one should. But it didn’t merit a documentary or TV special years later. Better to have focused only on her rise to fame. Lots of people get cancer - my mother included. Farrah’s cancer journey was not particularly different or interesting, just sad.

R22 here. I didn't call police after-suppose I should have. I've found living in DTLA and owning a shop that vigilante justice is the only way to get anything done. Sad but true. I recently relocated my shop off the street into a building in the fashion district and it was a great decision. I got all sorts of crackheads and homeless people wandering in but I never felt as nervous as when Redmond came in. Seemed desperate and scary enough to actually hurt me-again, guess I was lucky.

Ryan was impossibly handsome especially tanned and in those white boxers in Doc. Also Streisand never looked more sensational.
She should thank her lucky stars for that movie. If only she had sung a few more Porter songs. Instead she goes on to that shit Funny Lady movie in which she plays a drag queen and SIB which must rank as one of the most embarrassing remakes of all time. In that perm and singing bad rock. Like Rembrandt painting Trump.

Farrah set up the $4.5 M trust fund was set up so the money could ONLY be used for Redmond's health care i.e., rehab, mental health, therapy costs etc.. He was in rehab and jail numerous times as a teenager years before she died, so she knew not to leave him any money directly.
Unfortunately for his victims, Redmond's gotten more violent and dangerous over the years. Now shrinks have diagnosed him with schizophrenia and his trials are on hold pending further testing of his mental competence.
Ryan's been quietly shopping his much prized Warhol of FF for less then $20 M - probably to pay for Redmond's legal fees. Or hide money from the pending lawsuit where he's named as well as Redmond.
What a tragedy - especially for Redmond's victims. He almost killed one of them - and that fellow is still in very bad shape. His victims were all innocent people minding their own business who were attacked by this raging lunatic. He needs to be locked up for good.

It seems that Tatum has reconciled with her dad - CloserWeekly Feb 15 2019:
Just days after Tatum O’Neal took to Instagram to share a photo of herself sitting with her famous father, Ryan O’Neal , at a doctor’s office while the 77-year-old actor was “trying to get his heart fixed up,” the star returned to the social media outlet on Valentine’s Day to pen a sweet note to her dad.
“Dear Daddy, Happy St. Valentine’s Day! I found a picture of us in better times. I want to tell you that I am me because of you, and I mean all my good qualities,” the Paper Moon actress, 55, captioned a throwback photo of herself and Ryan smiling and laughing while sitting side-by-side. “The way I have taught my children the joy of irony and how to love. The ability to laugh ourselves. Love of movies. I wish things could be different that I could have made choices you could be more proud of. I have to live with myself and take pride in the woman I am today for better or worse.”
Tatum added, “All I wanted, was for you to feel my love for you and know there is no preexisting reasons except that I love you!! Just know that! Baby Mozart at your feet. Love your daughter.”

This is what Griffin O'Neal had to say about Ryan, circa the time of Farrah's death. (Ryan is out for Farrah's money, possibly having sex with Farrah's friend Alana, Griffin banned from Farrah's funeral, etc.) Griffin is hilarious, actually.
I watched some of the reality show involving Tatum & Ryan. Very sad for Tatum. Ryan didn't even recognize Tatum at Farrah's funeral and tried to pick her up (like she was some random woman he wanted to F).

What kind of relationship did she have with her parents that she ran immediately to horribly abusive men when she could take no more from the one she left behind? It seemed a happy family from all interviews but I assume it was anything but. Maybe her father terrorized her and her mother and it was dirty family laundry that was carefully kept from all the glossy supermarket magazines.
I saw her once at MSG in I believe the late 70s for a Bjorg/ Conners match. She left a bit early between sets and she looked as fabulous and dolled up as everyone expected. I was nearby and could see clearly but a bit far away enough that I could see the crowd near her go crazy as she walked in front of them. She engaged them all with her eyes and gave her Farrah smile. To my surprise a fan stuck out his hand to shake hers and she did. Ok big whoop she shook this guy's hand. But for some reason I thought she would ignore him and just glide through exulting in while seeming to ignore it all.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | May 26, 2019 3:58 PM |
She was drawn to abusive men, unfortunately, and she tried to sort it out with performances in Burning Bed, Extremities, Small Sacrifices. But it wasn't out of her system and she dated that other abusive guy in the '90s and that's when she started with the pills and the Playboy spreads and the notoriety. Before that, other than the contract issues with CA, she had been known as easy to with. After, it was harder to get work.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | May 26, 2019 5:58 PM |
the abusive guy in the 90s was director James Orr who during an argument got on top of Farrah and ground her face into the driveway pavement.

R90, Some women mistake strength for control. Some controlling men become emotionally and then physically abusive. Women feel trapped & dependent and generally stuck in the bad relationship, hoping it will get better. Hollywood can be a snake pit if you don't have someone strong & knowledgeable steering the way.
Farrah complained that even her manager who helped make her career was too abusive. Jay Bernstein took her on at Lee Majors' insistence.

Redmond is a sociopath. Genetics play a role in this. No matter what Farrah would have done, the son would have gone down the same path.
He was a coddled POS. When I was a resident at UCLA he was arrested and told the cops he was Farrah's son and was suicidal. Rather than taking him to jail, they brought him to UCLA. I wanted to have him taken to the downtown detention facility (where they have a mental health unit and the ability to treat psychiatric emergencies) but he called his psychiatrist ( a well-known UCLA attending) who told me to admit the little POS. Thus he avoided jail.
I hope he is sentenced to a lengthy prison term. He is incapable of living amongst others without resorting to violence and antisocial behaviors.

R105 here
And don't get me started on how his parents' drug use, bad parenting, etc made Redmond turn into a criminal. I grew up in a fucked up family where I was physically and verbally abused for years. I loved learning/reading/music and would spend all my time at the library/record shop (Poobahs in Pasadena, for those in the know). It was my escape. Even though I was abused, I would never harm others. I think that my background also helped propel me to a career in medicine, a desire to protect and help others. I could have done drugs and blamed my parents, like Redmond. But then again, I am not a sociopath.

You have a chip on your shoulder & your own issues @R105 & R106 same as a nutty therapist

R105, etc... Wouldn't Ryan be the sociopath? and Redmond a psychopath? (although I guess Redmond could be both).

[quote] Baby teeth or adult teeth
Ryan being Ryan, he probably knocked out his baby teeth when he was a kid and then his adult teeth when he was an adult
And let's not forget Ryan also shot a gun at Griffin inside a house

In the VF article,Ryan claimed he was protecting Griffins wife. Also in the VF article, Ryan seems to have the most active relationship with Redmond. He hates his sports caster son Patrick.

Yeah, R105/106, the mean streets of Pasadena are known to fuck up Caltech professors' kids for life.

He was hoping to get some of his money. And Griffin turned into a trump supporter. What else would a major fuck up in life do?

What was Farrah's relationship with Lee Majors like?
From what I remember, he was a big TV star and she was just starting out. He was one of those guys who expected his wife to be home making dinner when he got home which was a problem when she hit it big with "Charlie's Angels".
Also the story about Lee having to be out of town and asking Ryan to "keep an eye on" (??!?!) Farrah which led to their divorce and FF coupling up with R.
Also remember that when they were divorcing, they both wanted the house, but eventually Lee just said to let Farrah have the house.
I've never read that he was abusive toward her. Some control issues, yes. But wasn't he the one that helped her up the career ladder?
Any more info come out?

R105 I think he will be incarcerated for at least 20 years? If he gets paroled it won’t last and he will be back in prison.

[quote[ Poor Farah left Lee Majors for Ryan
Well how long could she make it with a former Kentucky pass around butt boy for Rock Hudson and his posse of homos? Poor girl needed some dick. And by all indications back in the day Ryan had dick.

Ryan O'Neal probably had gay sex to get started in Hollywood - thus his connection to Lee Majors. I think this is the tea that Griffin has on him which makes him scared of him

R116 Highly doubt it. O'Neal was born in LA to an actress mom and his dad was screenwriter Charles O'Neal.
Griffin's been a lying junkie most of his life. Farrah was concerned that he was a bad influence on young Redmond; he certainly wasn't a positive one.

I'm not saying that Ryan O'Neal was subjected to the casting couch, but I don't think he was immune, either. Just because his mom was an actress and his dad was a screenwriter didn't make him immune. Gwyneth Paltrow has famous parents but people still suspect her of being a notch on Harvey Weinstein's casting couch.

r105 - get off your high horse, doing drugs doesn't make someone a sociopath. you sound like a conservative asshole

Why wouldn't they have flags on a tow line? That seems incredibly stupid. I don't care if it's coiled. You figure it out. Sheesh.
