Redmond O’Neal, arrested for robbing Santa Monica convenience store, with a knife!

No more apple pies for Redmond.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 10, 2018 9:23 AM |
Has Redmond ever worked for a living, like with a real job?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 10, 2018 9:26 AM |
No clue. I doubt it.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 10, 2018 9:27 AM |
Redmond used to party with an ex of mine. I also know Tatum.
Anyhow, Redmond is a mess. As soon as he got out of jail last time, he was off and running. There’s plenty I can go into about him, but I’m going to refrain, due to my association with his sister.
Redmond: get your shit together, or you will spend your entire life in and out of California jails, asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 10, 2018 9:35 AM |
R8, Redmond is a sociopath. He’s REALLY good at sitting around, getting high, and planning his next heist, or major drug deal. That’s what he does. He bounces ideas off of everyone in the room as he snorts lines, and takes bong loads. He tries to get others involved in his criminal enterprises, and calls everyone a pussy when they express concern, or disinterest in his “ideas”.
He has no interest in getting his shit together, or becoming a better person. He’s a very messed up human being, and I’m actually VERY surprised that it’s taken this long for him to get nabbed again.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 10, 2018 9:42 AM |
Uh....nobbody knows who you are R10.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 10, 2018 9:47 AM |
R10, big Tatum fan here, have read and enjoyed her books. Please tell here there are lots of people rooting for her, always enjoy her work in movies and tv.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 10, 2018 9:47 AM |
This guy was fucked up even when he was a small child. I remember reading blinds about his emotionally disturbed behavior that occurred when Farrah was filming a movie. i don't recall which one, but apparently he was acting out quite badly.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 10, 2018 9:49 AM |
I never understood what Farrah saw in Ryan O’Neal. He sounds like a horrible, pathological human being. Sounds like Redmond is similar.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 10, 2018 9:52 AM |
R12, yes, and let’s keep it that way.
R13, will do!
R14, Redmond is the definition of a criminal mind. He’s always into his next hustle, his next con. The kid is really fucked up, and I don’t know if he can ever be helped. He just thinks like a criminal, all the time. He doesn’t think shit like”Well, maybe I should go back to school and get a career”, or “maybe I can get into acting, or work behind the scenes”. That kind of stuff has no hold on him.
Personally, I find him to be a dangerous person. He’s not someone you want hanging out around your home.
He’s going to end up dead or in jail for the rest of his life unless he genuinely attempts to change.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 10, 2018 10:00 AM |
It's Ryan O'Neal's fault. He was a (hot) fucktard.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 10, 2018 10:16 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 10, 2018 10:34 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 10, 2018 10:36 AM |
He is hot though. He should do high dollar escorting. Some shieks would be all over that. Can someone introduce him to Linds?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 10, 2018 10:40 AM |
He's short with a strange build, so I'm not sure escort is the way to go.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 10, 2018 10:44 AM |
If he has also inherited his father's tinymeat......
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 10, 2018 10:58 AM |
Ryan O' Neal seems like such a good parent.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 10, 2018 11:04 AM |
Ryan was hot way back in the day.
I've heard nothing but bad things about him, though, and ever since Farrah, he always just looks so stressed. I'm sure he has a lot of regret for his 'fathering' choices.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 10, 2018 11:15 AM |
He was raised by 2 very messed up people. He's living down to the standard they set for him.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 10, 2018 11:18 AM |
The frustrating thing is, many people are raised by trash, but turn out fine. While it is the parents' fault to a certain extent, these spoiled assholes own their current actions. At this age, much of his shit is just habit? I don't know. I'm not a psychologist, I just play one on the internet.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 10, 2018 11:22 AM |
How did two such good looking parents produced this homely mutherfucker? Ugh.

R28 Good looks skip a generation, this happens quite often.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 10, 2018 11:47 AM |
And damn is his hair red! He doesn't look much like either of his parents. Maybe Farah a little.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 10, 2018 12:09 PM |
I like his style.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 10, 2018 12:14 PM |
I have interacted with Redmond and he is a manipulative sociopath. He and his addiction to heroin/meth come first. Nobody wants to deal with him and that is why he is robbing a convenience store with a knife.
I, like many people, had a difficult childhood that involved a mentally ill parent and physical and emotional abuse. I used books and music as a way to escape, and went on to become an educated professional. Redmond is simply a bad person, and his parents did not make him bad.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 10, 2018 12:17 PM |
The family reads like a Jackie Collins novel of the 70s.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 10, 2018 12:23 PM |
Redmond was rehearsing for a role in a new play he is in. He expresses his deepest regret the store clerk misunderstood his method acting.

Really you "personally" find a a drug addicted convicted felon who has been in and out of rehab 13 or 14 times and who just used a knife to rob a store to be "dangerous". You're very intuitive and insightful.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 10, 2018 12:57 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 10, 2018 8:52 PM |
Ryan O’Neal has to be the worst father ever. He’s physically assaulted every child he’s had. Not to mention his indifference and neglect. Farrah must be rolling over in her grave knowing won’t stop this shit. He was in jail 10 years ago when his mother was on her deathbed and he got out to say goodbye to her and for her funeral. You would think he would wanna clean up his act for his mothers sake, but if it hasn’t happened yet it probably won’t.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 10, 2018 9:07 PM |
He won’t stop^^^
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 10, 2018 9:08 PM |
Farrah left him $30 Million. Why does he need to rob the dough?!
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 10, 2018 9:12 PM |
Those O'Neal's, what a lovely bunch.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 10, 2018 9:16 PM |
R41, he's rich?!!
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 10, 2018 9:19 PM |
R43, Redmond was left a trust. In order for him to receive money from it on a regular basis, he has to submit to scheduled blood tests in order to prove he is sober, and there are other requirements as well.

The product of two self absorbed parents.

I still have a soft spot for this young man. He was raised in a violent , drug addicted household with no empathy.. Ryan is a cruel person.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 10, 2018 9:26 PM |
Farrah is rolling in her beautiful grave 😭
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 10, 2018 9:28 PM |
She is heartbroken r48.. I am praying for Redmond. He is not a sociopath, but a man in a lot of PAIN!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 10, 2018 9:31 PM |
So, I'm assuming the kid hasn't seen a nickel of the $30M.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 10, 2018 9:31 PM |
I do too, r47. I hope he doesn’t end up living the rest of his life behind bars.
But make no mistake, Redmond is also responsible for his life NOW. He has absolute support from plenty of people in the community if he were to really want a better life. I know that to be a fact. But everyone is getting older, and good will eventually runs out, or time does.
The kid needs to be in a rehab facility for 6 months to a year. Bottom line.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 10, 2018 9:31 PM |
Ryan is absolutely a louse but as far as I know he never threatened anyone's life with a knife to rob them. Ryan wins this comparison on points.
As for the younger edition, he's lucky the clerk was distracted when the knife was pulled. Clerks with a gun rid society of much of this sort of garbage.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 10, 2018 9:33 PM |
"The kid needs to be in a rehab facility for 6 months to a year. Bottom line."
As long as the rehab is kind and nurturing, not some of these prison like rehabs with assholes running it.

He attacked Griffen's wife who was several months pregnant with a deadly weapon.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 10, 2018 9:38 PM |
Was he the one Ryan punched in the face, or was that Griffin?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 10, 2018 9:48 PM |
Ryan punched Tatum, knocked Griffen's teeth out after the Coppola kid boat accident and punched Tatum when she gloated over getting a Oscar Nom for " Paper Moon" She was a kid, saying " nanni, nanni" and he punched her in the face and she blacked it out. She had a friend who was a witness.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 10, 2018 9:53 PM |
This ‘kid’ is 33 years old, if he doesn’t have his shit together now, he never will.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 10, 2018 9:57 PM |
R59, I believe in redemption with proper amount of love, nourishment and sober mind.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 10, 2018 9:59 PM |
R60, I agree. But he needs to get clean. He needs detox, and long term rehab. I believe he can still turn it around. I’m rooting for him 100%, even though at this moment, he needs to be kept at arms length, because the kid loses it when he’s high. Totally unpredictable, and a huge liability.
I’m really sorry for all of the shit he went through. But the good news is, he’s not alone, as you very well know, and those who care about his welfare will support him all the way if he turns it around, as you also know. We’ll see what happens next.
Most of us here are older than Redmond, r59, hence “kid”.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | May 10, 2018 10:13 PM |
It's sad that someone who can afford longterm residential rehab (sometimes as much as $60K per month, no insurance reimbursement) does not or cannot or will not take advantage of this opportunity.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | May 10, 2018 10:18 PM |
r61- amen! And R62, Redmond is running from some serious bad , and destructive issues from his past. He loved his mom, that I am certain .
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 10, 2018 10:21 PM |
He's obviously been enabled in this behavior for a long time. 30 million is a lot of money to ignore for meth. I hope he gets his act together, but this is a serious crime he'll be going back into jail for.

by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 10, 2018 10:30 PM |
"It's Ryan O'Neal's fault."
Um, not exactly. He was neglected by both parents who were high 24/7, and turned into this creature as a teenager.
I expect to read Redmond's obituary before the year ends - overdose or death in gun battle.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 10, 2018 10:32 PM |
R64, have you ever met a hardcore meth/heroin addict? Los Angeles is littered with people like Redmond. Trust fund babies or young artists who came into big money early in life, or were born into it.
Right now, as I type, there are people running around the streets of Los Angeles with no money, food, or clean clothing. They’re missing teeth, they pulling tricks in cars, hustling in parks, alleys, public restrooms, wherever, because they need their next fix.
Some of these people come from families come from families that are worth millions. Most of them would have everything taken care of for them financially, if they managed to just get clean and sober, and stay that way.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 10, 2018 10:34 PM |
The older I get, the less I feel my parents are responsible for almost any problems I have had in my adult life. Does anyone else feel that way? I mean if you hit 30 years old and you are a hardcore drug addict and hold up a store clerk with a knife, that's some how Ryan's fault? And I know he was an ultra shitty dad.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | May 10, 2018 10:36 PM |
Wtf, Farrah Fawcett died?
by Anonymous | reply 70 | May 10, 2018 10:38 PM |
Sadly, yes, R68. My nephew died last year. He was 29. Bought from a dealer he didn't know and shot up meth and had a heart attack. They even caught it on film. Found him in an alley, a week later after his father got out of jail and went looking for him because the truck was missing. Yes, he came from money and there was no reason except one: money cannot buy you fulfillment.
It's a sad life, addiction. You become the drug and need it constantly. Redmond may have had help getting there, but he's got no one to blame but himself now.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | May 10, 2018 10:44 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 73 | May 10, 2018 10:51 PM |
R69 I see your point but your parents give you your start. Farrah and Ryan are really guilty of abuse. And abuse is a spell that can last forever for some people. But you are responsible for your own shit after a point. Some people can never do that.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | May 10, 2018 11:46 PM |
People drink and use to kill emotional pain, but to violate the rights of others in a violent fashion is very concerning . I still have hope for Redmond.

He's the original Affluenza Teen.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | May 10, 2018 11:56 PM |
Well, I'm assuming there is still money left in the 6 million dollars trust his mother left him. They probably refused to give him money and this is the only way he knew to get it. Sad.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | May 11, 2018 12:07 AM |
Farrah and Ryan both had drug issues when this kid was growing up. However, even Tatum said there really isn't hope for him so I think the people up thread who said he is a socio are right. There were BIS when he was growing up about getting kicked out of schools and his parents drug issues. He was caught with pot at one school and a BI said he picked up his habits from his parents. I remember another BI about how despite their rocky relationship it was their love of drugs that kept his parents together for so long. If you aren't old enough you wouldn't remember they had a volatile relationship. I don't think Farah left him for good until she caught him in bed with a young woman.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | May 11, 2018 12:16 AM |
Wasn't Redmond in a forced rehab for about a year around the time Farrah died? How is another six months going to help him?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | May 11, 2018 12:18 AM |
R79, if he is playing a waiting game with the courts, the number of rehabs won't count as long as he's officially in or going in to rehab. They score pretty good rehabs on early release- court ordered 30 day inpatient with help scoring equally good half-way houses. They start dealing or manufacturing and then go through the entire circus again.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | May 11, 2018 1:04 AM |
His mother's ass cancer was the last straw.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | May 11, 2018 1:07 AM |
Redmond was in jail when Farrah died. But why does anyone care? They were shitty parents and Ryan O'Neal is a fucking monster. Still, all of his kids have drug addictions so it's a genetic disease and a vulnerable set of behaviors. Redmond isn't hopeless but he's not a public figure and not without resources. I am positive his mother showed him much love and inadequate care. If you live long enough you live through it, but most addicts don't. Plus he's a tough guy, as much institutionalized as spoiled. Fun Fact: Most addicts eventually stop on their own.
There are better causes than Redmond O'Neal.

R115, Ryan’s turning in his bed. He ain’t dead, yet.
The funny thing about Ryan is that their SR tons of guy his age, running around LA, Malibu in particular, saying the same shit he says.
They don’t want to take any responsibility for what they did to fuck up their lives, and the lives of those around them.
He is the typical man/child that I’ve come across too often.
Grow the fuck up already, Ryan. You were a violent asshole, with dope and booze issues, who ignored your kids as often as possible , and then scratched you head in bewilderment when they all got involved in drugs, and criminal behavior.
And being “hands” on is equivalent to ignoring their questions, sending them away, snaking them around when you didn’t like their opinions and questions, and bailing them out of jail, telling what what pieces of shit they are while you punch them in the head.
You did PLENTY of drugs around your kids. They saw it, and I believe them. You ran around your home calling people niggers, and you basically hated everyone.
These stories aren’t just coming from your kids. I’ve lived in “town”, most of my life, and I’ve been involved with some pretty high profile people, due to similar interests in recover and volunteer/charitable organizations that I’ve been involved in. Your kids grew up with some of my associates in these circles, al all agree that you’re also a very troubled man
I’m estatic that Tatum is moving forward. I always wish her the best, and if she stays on her current path, she’s going to be ok.

He is an extraordinarily genetically gifted guy looks-wise, especially given that he has probably used drugs and alcohol and ciggies so much and STILL has an extremely handsome face.
In some ways I feel like with fucked-up parents like that he did not stand a chance. But the starving Darfur orphan argument is right: he grew up rich and white and privileged, and I am sure he was Farrah's main heir financially: he could have shaken off these problems with his looks and money and made something of his life.

This is my favorite part of the Vanity fair story on the O'Neals & Farrah linked above:
[quote] O’Neal doesn’t deny his own chronic drug use, but says he can’t remember giving Griffin cocaine at 11 (“I didn’t share my cocaine with anyone—you know the prices!”)

That VF article doesn't say anything about Farrah using drugs though. Redmond is not attractive so he better cultivate some other rich interior life.

Is Tatum still a pretend lesbian?
by Anonymous | reply 126 | May 11, 2018 6:47 PM |
What has happened to the $4.5 million Farrah left him in trust? Did the guy she appointed as trustee (who was Ryan's business manager they say) steal it all with Ryan's help? It was in trust so Redmond would not have been able to get his hands on any of it the Trustee didn't allow him to.
How could he have gone through all that money? Or is he just between Trust payments and needed money for drugs so he decided to rob the convenience store?

The article says he can use the trust for health, including rehab, and he gets the yearly interest which can be about $19,000.00 per month depending on the investment. Hey, drugs are expensive. That VF article pushes something O'Neal started that isn't true. They were never as big as Brangelina, not even close. Farrah never recovered her superstar after leaving CA. I was in high school and I remember about two years after she left we thought she was a has been. She got some resurgence with The burning bed but her glory years of superstardom was way behind her and the movie stardom never occured. When she hooked up with him, he was a movie has been too. We just thought the whole coupling was weird and he certainly wasn't a movie idol anymore to us, he was a movie idol for an older generation. I was a kid when I saw What's Up Doc and he was good but some old guy. In high school though, Farrah was IT. She was everywhere. For about two years, then she fell as quickly as she rose. I can't think of anyone in the past that was that huge and such a sex symbol and style trendsetter who fell as quickly. She was able to keep her name in the tabs due to her past CA fame, her leaving Majors for O'Neal, his temper and child problems, their child problems and their strange and rocky relationship. But, neither were relevant anymore when they got together. Brangelina was at least relevant when they got together and for a few years after that until young people moved on to younger people.

I grew up in Malibu. When he was 8 and I was 5 he bullied me a lot (we lived near each other). Years later (when we were pre-teen) he'd threaten to beat me up for whatever cash I had. Eventually he just started demanding I sneak him whatever dinner my mom had cooked, which I did for a while (he scared the crap out of me but I also thought he was cute by then). There were fleeting moments when he'd eat what I brought that he turned into someone nice and fun to be around. When I was a teenager and he got shipped off to military school I put the pieces together that he had basically grown up and raised himself all alone. His parents were never home. He never had food to come home to besides what a nanny would make for him in the morning. He had no one.
Whenever I see his name in the news I'm rooting for it to be good news, and for him to have overcome a neglected childhood. It makes me very sad he keeps making bad choices and getting further away from managed to. I blame his drunk of a father and his negligent mother.

I live in Austin, and every once in a while I’ll encounter an old man who knew Farrah during her time at UT. Apparently, she was a celebrity on campus and had hundreds of guys trying to date her.
How does someone who has that much privilege end up with a loser like Ryan O’Neil?
In the Vanity Fair article, Ryan claims Farrah never touched drugs, but anyone who followed her towards the end of her life could see that wasn’t true. She was clearly suffering from substance abuse.
Interestingly, Kate Jackson is also a drug addict. Jaclyn is the only original Angel who avoided drugs, avoided discotheques/the Hollywood party scene, and never drank.

I don't know much, but the saddest thing here is, farrah seemed nice, she was probably mortified that her only child was so addled. She loved him. She seemed to have enough consciousness to know this boy was so chemically addicted. Bet it broke her heart. When you watched that Alana Stewart special, she loved that boy. Ryan has no parent component. Question: where was Dad Ryan at this latest hearing? If he loved Farrah, wouldn't he be there for the boy? Don't rank on me, I am just asking. Maybe it's all tough love, but where is the support? Probably a nice kid, shouldn't anyone give a damn? Tatum seems to have a heart, it appears. Do we all agree that this kid's addiction is a disease, not a crime?

Ask anyone who has known a drug addict how it ended for them. Once they get hooked on drugs, best just to walk away because its a never ending spiral that will drag everyone in their orbit down. Out of the many druggies Ive known in my life TWO made it through. 2,out of dozens. The rest are dead,in prison or still doing their thing.

Robert Downey Jr. was in rehab and jail many times before he gave up drugs. If he did. He did get serious about it and had real friends, industry freinds and funds to have 24 hours a day personal minders. I have drug addiction among my friends and family. I didn't walk away but I stay out of the near constant drama and frequent lies. It's easier to stick by someone who is not inherently an asshole. Only professional counsellors can deal with that for long.
The inexperienced and naive always think rehab is some great panacea. At best it is a place to hide from jail or to keep a marriage together or the trust fund intact. It's a place to clear your mind and fatten up.
The first day in a medical model rehab you receive these stats:
1. 90% percent of all addicts quit on their own or die
2. Of the !0% who seek treatment, only one will be clean in a year's time.
Redmond like most drug addicts will die or age out of it. Family and friend support does matter, but if he is as described here he hasn't much motivation or desire to quit. He was environmentally and genetically set up for this. Most people do drugs and drink because they like it. Yes it masks pain etc, but it's pleasurable and there are many rituals that accompany it which become habits in themselves. Our bodies and brains heal from certain pathways and behaviors over time, if you only live long enough. That's the great secret of life.
There is no cure for addiction. Rehab is nice if you can afford it, but most will use within a month of leaving, many within hours.

Growing up without your parents attention, being taken care of by a nanny, can be a perfect way to grow up (see the Grace Kelly's son thread). THAT IS as long as you get real attention from that individual and are not supplied a limitless bankroll. It's common among the wealthy, and the children do not turn into criminals or drug fiends.
I find that the newly rich - movie people, celebrities from working class backgrounds - do not know how to be rich. They run off, neglect their children, supply them with money. That's not the way to do it.

Some of you are stupid if you don't realize Farrah had long term drug problems. She was negligent. Her child wasn't being fed properly or looked after properly and she was negligent in not making sure the nanny did her job. That is a typical symptom of drugs being more important to a mothet than her child. I'm sure the sweet, nice Farrah loved him. Just not enough to make sure the hired help looked after him properly and mommy spent some time with him so he didn't bully young kids. You realize he was bullied himself, probably by Ryan. Mommy apparently didn't love him enough to do something about that either.
by Anonymous | reply 179 | May 13, 2018 1:41 AM |
R160 Selling drugs and carrying illegal firearms and threatening people with firearms and knives are crimes, not "addiction".
Redmond is a sociopath and believes that what he wants is what he should get. He lacks empathy for others, and this allows him to become a part of the violent world of drug dealing/armed robbery.

Farrah was not a bad person. Unfortunately, she was addicted to benzos, and later, pain meds. Ryan, on the other hand, is a POS. Another Mel Gibson, trust me.
Redmond does lack empathy. I have personally heard him spouting off racially offensive diatribe. He’s toxic. He’s a mean, hateful and violent young man.
I believe in change via sobriety and recovery. Though I’ve never committed a violent crime, I’ve engaged in really hurtful, horrible behaviors while high on drugs. I become a monster when I do cocaine or meth. I don’t go out and about physically harming people, but I harm myself, and I am amazed that I survived myself.
I’m not a saint, and never will be. I’ve never ever hurt a child, or a pet, or anyone but myself and have held others in my life hostage, emotionally, while high. I can tell you all right now that I am an entirely different person when sober. Really sober, with years of not drinking and/or using. I’ve relapsed several times, and that has really fucked me up, however, I’m intelligent enough to know and accept that I am incapable of living or functioning in society while I’m high. Honestly, I’d just be better off dead, than high. And, I like being sober more than being high. I’m a very affectionate person when I’m sober. I enjoy being around others, but my downfall has always been that I become a caretaker. It’s taken me a long time to learn how to take care of myself. We live and learn.
I believe that Redmond can make it if he’s not a true sociopath. I guess sociopaths do get sober and stay sober, but most do not. The same can be said for non sociopaths who suffer from addiction. Addiction is a bitch. Consider yourselves REALLY lucky if you’ve never dealt with it.
I hope he makes it, but the odds are against him.

I had such a crush on Ryan O'Neal when I was a kid. I read Love Story a dozen times and saw the movie 4 or 5 times. I used to insert myself into the story as being Ollie's (Ryan) younger brother and create and act out scenes. I had it bad (and yes, was a weird kid - did the same with Redford in Butch & Sundance). It was hard to learn that O'Neal was one of the all time biggest assholes on earth. Just a reprehensible person, all the way around.
I've never understood how Farrah could be with him. Dickmatized for a year or two - possibly. But 30 years? I am just not capable of understanding that.
Redmond has been fucked up for many, many years now. He started young and I don't know if he has ever put any significant time together as a sober man. It is such a horrendous thing to do, to overcome an addiction. You can never count anyone out though. People get sober in their 60s/70s. I hope for his sake he can make it.

He and Farrah were together for a bumpy 17 years, leave out a few for the separation years. The remainder they were only good friends no matter how O'Neal promotes it. By the time Farrah died, she and Ryan had not been a real couple for at least ten years. Farrah was very passive, that was a major downfall.

The press always went very easy on Farrah, considering. The neglect/abuse he was subject to and witnessed had to pretty significant, maybe even fetal exposure, for him to be as troubled as he's been, right out of the gate. Even for a celebrity's kid, when they are often profoundly neglected in the best of circumstances.

The latest (I did a search) for all of you apologists re the object of your lust.

Well if he has that thing that many Russian children have because of his mother's drug and alcohol problems when pregnant then he's a goner.
There is absolutely no way he can be helped. Seriously brain damaged. Better off for him and the world if he offs himself with an overdose and not violence which might involve other people.
Life is shitty.

R162, Redmond O’Neal IS a bad person because he physically assaults people and robs them. His drug use cannot justify his behavior. This violent streak is within him and he’s a ticking time bomb even when sober. There are many drug addicted people who are never physically violent. He must exorcise his demons through detox, rehab and psychiatric treatment.
Can he turn this around? Yes, but he’ll need intensive rehab, like Mackenzie Phillips had before she achieved long term sobriety. (Yes, she relapsed, but overall she remained sober.) She was in rehab for a year.

Ryan O'Neal was on "Bones." I saw Redmond going into Ryan's trailer one of the few shooting days we crossed paths (we never had a scene together.). I like Ryan.

'This violent streak is within him.'
He is a born psychopath which nothing can cure. Do you want him to kill somebody before you understand that? Some people are damaged psychologically beyond help. Why are there people who find this difficult to believe?

How did Ryan O’ Neal get to play Bone’s father? Is he fun to work with?

As heinous as Ryan is, I loved him as Bones' dad. There is no telling what Red saw and experienced as a kid. I'm talking weird Hollywood pedo ring shit. Not to mention his fucked up parents and their drug issues.

Fetal alcohol syndrome usually causes intellectual disabilities and it is almost impossible for FAS people to function independently with FAS.

Not comparable cases. At her worst McKenzie never harmed anyone but herself. She was a druggie but wasn't psychopathic.

“Redmond is that you darling? Where have you been, I’ve been trying to reach you for weeks. What is on your face? Redmond what happened to your face? Lupe, “Bring me a drink.” It’s his fucking father’s fault.” “I need my pills. Fumbling she calls Ryan...

Farrah is rolling in her grave. Rest Farrah, the state of California will take care of Redmond.
