Dale loves being on TV. She was pretty upset when "High Society" was cancelled because she was an actual cast member on that. As long as she and her daughter keep giving me "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" circus moments, I'm fine with her getting more screentime.

Jill was actually very subdued in this appearance, and dare I say, likeable again?

I think it's very interesting that NY is the only franchise where the women seem to "get away with" not really showing their actual personal lives in any significant way.

I was re-watching the Tinz's circus breakdown, and it's hard to tell if tears are actually coming out.

Cuntess Lu is the star. She isn't going anywhere.

People really think that Luann will get fired? Please. She's the only one who has anything real going on. Dorinda, Ramona and Sonja are accessories. Bethenny and Tinsley spend their camera time wailing and being basket cases. Luann's life is at least interesting. She's not going anywhere ever.

I'm not surprised that they stay away but I'd like to see a bit more of Lu's kids and Ramona's daughter. Is Victoria still an artist? Is Noel still rapping? Is Ramona's daughter still embarrassed by her mother? I want to know.

NY is the hardest cast to just bring in someone to create some drama which is kind of what they need. A newbie (or two) to come in and really stir up some shit.

r37, they have made sporadic appearances in the last couple of seasons. I remember Avery filming when Ramona had the fight with Bethenny. And of course Noel and Victoria were around when Adam was introduced.

She prepped at Lawrenceville and graduated from Columbia. I don't know whether it was the college or the School of General Studies (KKB's alma mater, although she never fesses up to that and just says "Columbia"). I don't know whether she worked before/during her marriage. Girls like Tinsley often get a Sotheby's certificate and work there or in a gallery somewhere. I don't think she's necessarily stupid--maybe just really arrested.

Tinsley is a little girl emotionally. She has been under her parent's thumb for many years and now can't cope with anything that doesn't coincide with her simple world. Her mother is abusive ( doubt if she truly loves her daughter, since Tinsley was a daddy's girl). Tinsley has the emotional maturity of a thirteen year old who wants to please everyone.

I've said this before, Ramona should just hire the WWHL makeup people for every event. She always looks flawless on that show and yes, much younger. I mean look what wonders they do with Miss C.

Lu was on coke at the Halloween party. There was one giveaway closeup of her sniffing. I've known people who've gotten "sober" by giving up booze but continuing with the blow.

Was watching Clueless the other night and it hit me that Barbara is a little like Brittany Murphy's character: new, sweet under a tough exterior, eager to please, not really wearing the right clothes, needs taking under someone's wing. But she's game, and that counts for a lot. I'd like them to give her another go next season and also keep Tinsley. Tinsley probably benefits more from the show financially and socially than the others, maybe even psychologically, having something of her own. I would just hate for her to become a tragic figure.

Dorinda's daughter is like every bad theater major that ever existed. "I'm going to turn my angst about my dead goldfish into a Tony award winning performance!"

I thought Rimalower's remark about Luann's sobriety was a bit reckless, too, but clearly he was sending a message. Here's the thing with her "downward spiral," though: if you follow IG or Twitter, it's clear that she hasn't spiraled all the way down yet. Her egotism and self-indulgence know no bounds, but she's continuing to sell out venues (why, I can't fathom) and she's got a spanking new (if weird) house in Sullivan County. Self-destruction looks good on her.

r99, I think they have also rushed into filming to capture the aftermath of Dennis' death which was a headline-grabbing story right after the reunion.

More rumored tea that Barbara gave up full time status after requesting that comments made by Ramona about her sexual preferences be cut. Bravo agreed but said then she would only be a friend.

Barbara says in next week's preview she is fluid. Who cares? Ramona is a cunt.

In the clips for next week's show, doesn't Barbara say that she's "sexually fluid" while all the women look shockod and/or bewildered?

Oh wow. And that was the second time she was reported filming, the other was at the Angel Ball. So they actually cut her out. I still don't understand why they bother in the first place if they have no plan to follow through and actually commit to seeing how the audience responds.

Maybe the producers realized they have enough shit-stirring without her. The only purpose she served in her tennis scene was as straight man for Luann's "one day at a time" speech. And that scene was just shoe-horned in.

They will be under pressure next season to step it up, so I wonder how that will affect casting.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how dismissive Dorinda is of John vs her initial seasons where she defended him hard. Now it seems like they basically just use each other for specific needs.

In that scene in her new apartment, it seems clear that she can barely tolerate his presence, and yet he continues to push his luck ("two sinks--one for me!", etc). Surely she could find somebody less revolting to service her.

Lots of painfully obvious product placement this season. The latest being the multiple mentions of some Omar restaurant. I know the plugs have always been there. But they've stopped even trying.

Every season they've plugged a couple of restaurants or bars. It's really kind of ridiculous, unless they think that visiting tourists are going to flock to The Regency bar or Beautique in the hop of a HW or HW-adjacent.

Tinsley Mortimer wanted to be a Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian type with branding and merchandising and endorsement deals. Along with that reality show she had on the CW.

That's not going to happen now. She's to old and she's to New York for that to come to fruition. The magic of Paris and Kim is they had that hollywood LA back drop that worked in their favor and Tinsley is to closely linked to New York society for her to achieve that Hilton/Kardashian/Jenner success fame and wealth that they've accumulated.

Real housewives is as good as its going to get for Tinsley. She's just not interesting in that way.

And does anyone know how much that suit Tinsley stays in cost? Is the show paying for that or is her mother paying for it? I'm really curious about Tinsleys finances. How the hell is her lifestyle being financed? She can't be making a whole lot from the show especially after taxes.

As for LuAnn, her RH take is probably well over a million/season, wouldn't you say? And I don't know what she rakes in from her cabaret tour, but the overhead probably isn't that great. She's paying Stritch and Rimalower and a 3 piece combo; the set consists of a couple of potted plants; and the "friends" may be doing it for scale, or just for the publicity (she's had Bridget Whatsername, Andrew K-B, and De Laria, right?) And her cabaret and the RH season scratch each other's backs in terms of free PR.

Nene is getting $2.8 million for the next season and kandi isn't far behind. The Atlanta ladies are well paid. Plus their $$$ goes a lot further. The cost of living is so much more cheaper down south than it is in NYC or LA. So their $$$ goes a whole lot further and lasts much longer as long as they live with their means.

The Mortimer money has funded trusts for a whole lot of descendents (I think the original source was Standard Oil, but I may be wrong about this), and the name itself has more cachet than actual spending power. But in any case, Tins hasn't been married to a Mortimer for around 10 years, and the Mercer money was of recent vintage (carpets, I believe, in Richmond) and is likely long gone.

I simply can't believe that anyone would pay Ne Ne Leakes over a million dollars for any reason whatsoever.

I think it's ridiculous that the Kardashians are being paid $150 million dollars by E!. but the only reason any of these reality tv "stars" get anything anywhere near what there getting as far as their salaries are concerned. Is because there's a audience and a market for it.

As long as people tune in to watch any of these clowns on reality tv, and the ratings are high or decent. And the network is happy, these people will continue to have jobs on tv and continue to bank multi million dollar paychecks.

And that's just the truth. And us gossiping about them contributes to their success and relevance.

Tinsley doesn't seem to own any property anywhere. I believe she rents that hotel suite while she is filming the show but otherwise crashes with people in Palm Beach. This is the reason the apartment hunting story line never went anywhere. Whatever pittance she makes from the show she blows on clothes. The Mercers have long tried to present themselves as long money blue bloods (mostly so Tins and Dabney could marry well) but the dad sold carpets and died drunkenly in debt. It's all a facade per usual.

For the NY housewives, Bethenny has the most money by a long shot. Ramona would be next: she has that fabulous Hamptons estate plus an expensive apartment in NYC. Dorinda and Sonja are probably next, in that order. I'm not sure how much money Luann has but she's probably not worth as much as she was when she was married to the Count.

I read recently (although maybe on DL) that Dorinda's net worth is about $20 million. I'd guess she ranks ahead of Ramona and possibly about even with B.

Bethenny's real estate budget might be $20 million. She's worth far, far more than that, closer to $100 million.

I think Ramona is the only one here who never had to take a pay cut. There was that one season when both Sonja and Luann took cuts at the very last minute. I think they both currently make in the $500 grand range, but I could be wrong.

The ATL women can negotiate higher salaries because the show has higher ratings.

That being said, the biggest problem these shows have developed is allowing one (or two) women to control the show and be the "star". The fact that Bravo values that dumb-as-rocks simian criminal from NJ and pays her a mil says it all.

Yes, and they each have ostensible reasons. But what's really going on here is that custody is the only weapon either of them has against the other. The underlying (and sometimes blatant) animosity between Ramona and Jill in the early seasons was always made of win. It's so funny looking back how Jill had the upper hand and the audience on her side. Yet when that tide shifted, it was Ramona who was left standing.

Jill lost a lot of her audience toward the end of her run. She was just so vicious, and not always rational. I remember her getting into a screaming fight with Alex because Alex knew B's father had died and Jill didn't. She was just awful all the time, and worse at the reunions. I don't think the audience turned in favor of Ramona (or Alex)--just against Jill.

Ramona made the very smart and strategic decision to side with Bethenny in season 3.

I still say getting rid of Jill after season 4 was a mistake, and this is coming from someone who doesn't necessarily care for her. But she was still a staple on the show. Her presence, whether it was good or bad, was familiar. Alex, Kelly, Cindy - I understood. NY never quite recovered from that jarring shakeup.

Lu is not coming off well. Whatever relatively harmless thing Sonja said to her early in the hour set her off: "You're sitting at MY table in MY house, so you'd better watch yourself." The Bryn talking point is dangerous for Lu; someone with a long memory could remark that Lu was never home with her kids. Their main attachment was to Rosie.

I can't believe Lu was really shocked by Barb's admission that she's sexually fluid (or as someone said, "sexually liquid"), since she knew about the affair with a woman. And I was surprised that the other women seemed a bit uncomfortable with it.

Is it me or do the episodes this season mostly feel quite bitty? I'm often surprised when they are almost finished because it feels like we haven't really got going. Last nights was a great example - most of it felt like a lead-up to going to Luann's without much time actually there - obviously the rest will be for the next episode. It is probably a mix of editing and the footage they managed to film.

r304, it seemed like they struggled a bit this season to find a narrative. It feels very "episodic" which is not necessarily a bad thing. I have been enjoying it. However, I think at this point, the HW audience has come to expect some kind of cohesive storyline for each season.

It's not necessarily a cohesive storyline over the season I'm after R304, in fact that may be one of the problems, that there may be too much focus on trying to maintain overarching narratives (maybe?). It's just that the episodes themselves feel quite bitty and forced, like someone spliced together a lot of footage but without any real overarching point to each episode. For me that is more important to a season-wide storyline.

I wonder if it has to do with starting to film earlier? Maybe they didn't have enough prep time?

Here's something that puzzles me about the season, especially in connection with the early start to filming. Every one of the women (except Sonja and I guess Tins) spent the reunion attacking Bethenny. Ramona was vicious; so was Dorinda. How is it possible that they resumed even frenemy status in such a short time?

Ratings up this week to .46 key demo and 1.29 total viewers. Still far below Atlanta and Beverly Hills but an improvement. I didn't like the way Bravo advertised this episode though. They made it seem like the whole thing would center on Bethenny vs. LuAnn when that was just the last few minutes. Hopefully there's more of it next week.

The judge could say that reality tv isn't a job and that its more of a luxury than anything else. And that the world of reality tv isn't good for her sobriety and that she needs to live a normal life and Ord lu to do so.

I don't think the judge could do that, but I think he could tell her to either wear the ankle monitor and attend outpatient rehab or go to jail. I can't imagine he was thrilled to learn that she'd declined to do both those things because it interfered with her cabaret.

Dina Lohan was in the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier in the year and proved to be a reality TV dud. She was very well-liked by the other houseguests (meaning she caused no interesting conflict or drama) and refused to talk about her love life. She also spoke very little about her family members and only had nice things to say about everyone, at all times.

She was super boring and not at all glamorous or interesting. Nice woman but not a good fit for RHONY.

I don't see Barbara returning unless she makes some big splash at the reunion.

I like Tinsley enough, but I think 3 seasons is enough for her.

How can Jason be "the devil" after we saw him be the nice, calm guy for all of those episodes of RHONY as well as the spin-off shows? He and his family were so nice and boring, I can't understand how he could be a neglectful father.

I suspect that Bethenny is sick of being tied down to joint custody requirements--she wants to be able to travel where she wants, when she wants with the kid but can't. I like Bethenny but I truly hope that any effort to deny Jason's access to his daughter is truly about Jason's ability to be a good parent and not about Bethenny's career or social ambitions.

I had a very different impression of Jason; I thought he was very tightly wound (that clenched jaw) and controlling. I don't think Bethenny is saying he's a neglectful father and I'm sure he's not. But he may well be an unpleasant one, and he may use Bryn to get at Bethenny. Once a marriage is over, the only weapons the former spouses have are money and the children. If Jason loses custody, he loses his meal ticket: she is currently paying him both alimony and child support and I don't think he contributes anything to Bryn's support except what Bethenny gives him for that purpose.

I don't think it's about her career or social ambitions. I think it's that she hates him and doesn't want the kid around him. And he feels the same about her.

Well, she turned up at the reunion so I'm sure it came up and I'm sure she went on the offensive with this story about "demanding" proof of her violations. The People article isn't helpful and in all likelihood isn't accurate. You don't demand that a judge turn over evidence, as the article reports. I suppose as a matter of procedure you might petition the judge to instruct the prosecution to turn over to the defendant all evidence that will be presented during the proceeding. But of course she's entitled to that by law, as a matter of due process. She's just grandstanding.

Photos of Luann's second choice bungalow/drinking hut. It isn't horrible, but the isolation would be a factor. I don't know how healthy that place would be to live alone in. Good thing it has a small spiral staircase, so she can only fall a couple of steps at a time.

Someone picked it up for 410k in 2012, renovated it, and it looks like Luanne paid 950, in 2018. Not cheap, but a far cry from the 6M she wanted to splash out. I'd love to see the house she had her heart set on.

I just looked at the previews for next week. There's a long scene centered on a tree-lighting in Manhattan--Dorinda's doing the honors. Jill has the briefest walk-on. Dorinda asks LuAnn to stop talking about her as part of her cabaret patter and Lu blows her off ("It's my cabaret show and I'll say whatever I want"). Most of the episode seems to revolve around Sonja's bad behavior, though. I wonder whether Lu went on the Miami trip.

We missed Bethenny when she left to do her talk show but now that she's been back for a while, she's become a shrill bore. She needs to go away for a few years at least and let us miss her again.

I think Bethenny has mellowed since she's come back. That first season back she was either crying or being dismissive. At least now we're getting jokes.

I don't know how long B can hold onto mellow, but for the time being she's been the primary force in keeping this season up and running.

I'm the poster who was revisiting the show last night, after an absence of a few years. Ramona looks excellent for her age. And she's very well lit in her testimonials.

Nothing against Carole, but the vibe is much better without her. The women seem like a group of people who are actually friends, or frenemies. Carole always seemed superfluous, to me.

Carole upset the very delicate balance among these women. Whether or not they like each other (and I think some of them truly don't), they've established a detente of sorts without Carole to stir shit. The show is much more enjoyable without her--although I will never understand how a group of women who wanted Bethenny dead at last season's reunion are now neutral to positive toward her.

Well, it's all a performance, and they're professional actors at this point. (Although, granted, rehab, lawsuits, and accidental death certainly are "real life.") Carole just didn't fit the ensemble.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I’ve always found RHONY has always worked better when Bethenny and Ramona are on the same team. Something about their chemistry makes the show flow better. I like them together. The two of them aligned against Lu provides great drama and the right balance.

I’m also really enjoying Tinsley this season, she seems to have found her voice. It’s disappointing that she seems to have gotten back with Scott and has little or no contact with the cast outside of filming according to Dorinda. It might be time for her to go and bring in 2 new cast members.
