Gayest menu ever!

"Rocket salad" You must be British. Menu sounds delicious.

Are you this guy, OP?

You do realize that all of your guests went out for bacon cheeseburgers after leaving your place?

by Anonymousreply 4April 21, 2019 10:59 PM

Very nice.

I have to go look up "Lady Baltimore cake" now....

by Anonymousreply 5April 21, 2019 11:02 PM

My rule for tossed vegetable dishes is that all of the major components must be cooked or they all must be raw.

I also tend to serve more savoury items than I do desserts.

by Anonymousreply 6April 21, 2019 11:03 PM

Sorry, just noticed the scones.

by Anonymousreply 7April 21, 2019 11:03 PM

I'd rather eat pussy....Meat is good!

by Anonymousreply 8April 21, 2019 11:04 PM

How can anyone get full with that rabbit food?

by Anonymousreply 9April 21, 2019 11:14 PM

Fiber r9, aka ruffage.

by Anonymousreply 10April 21, 2019 11:38 PM

Sounds good, OP, especially that cake. How come arugula is now called "rocket"?

by Anonymousreply 11April 22, 2019 12:06 AM

Sounds wonderful, OP.

That's what they call it in England, r11.

by Anonymousreply 12April 22, 2019 12:26 AM

Not quite enough main dish types of food. Vegetarian is super easy. Vegan is the challenge. I find it impossible to make truly satisfying vegan menus.

Anyway, I would suggest not having muffins AND scones, but substituting the scones with a another main dish (mushroom pasta alfredo?) and perhaps another green salad. But that's me. I always err on the side of bounty.

by Anonymousreply 13April 22, 2019 12:43 AM

Love the subtle shade you threw r13😏

by Anonymousreply 14April 22, 2019 12:45 AM

Sounds delicious, OP.

R13 lots of Indian dishes are or can be made vegan, and they're quite filling. I also like veganized Thai curries.

by Anonymousreply 15April 22, 2019 12:48 AM

And they all taste and smell Indian, r15.

by Anonymousreply 16April 22, 2019 12:49 AM

Vegetarian I can deal with, but vegan no thank you. I find them either to be obnoxious or loathsome.

by Anonymousreply 17April 22, 2019 12:50 AM

I have to have Lady Baltimore cake before I die!

by Anonymousreply 18April 22, 2019 12:54 AM

I feel the same about people who insist on posting with a username on an anonymous board

by Anonymousreply 19April 22, 2019 12:56 AM

Thanks, R12. However, I notice that Americans have been calling arugula "rocket" as well. I'm guessing it's a restaurant thing. I was guessing that OP was American (because Baltimore cake is an American thing).

by Anonymousreply 20April 22, 2019 1:01 AM

The fact that you capitalized "fresh" in describing your insipid, cliched vinaigrette proves what an insufferable cunt you are.

by Anonymousreply 21April 22, 2019 1:17 AM

Sounds delish OP, are you a trained chef?

by Anonymousreply 22April 22, 2019 2:40 AM

[quote]FRESH raspberry vinaigrette

How fun to do a campy retro '80s menu!

by Anonymousreply 23April 22, 2019 3:55 AM

Asparagus? So not a golden afternoon for your guests?

by Anonymousreply 24April 22, 2019 3:57 AM

R14, thank you for pointing it out! Seriously. I have been trying to knock that crap off and sometimes don't even notice it. Am grateful to be made aware.

by Anonymousreply 25April 23, 2019 1:57 AM

Muffins, scones and cake....not well balanced.

by Anonymousreply 26April 23, 2019 8:03 AM

[quote]The English common name rocket derives from the French roquette, a diminutive of the Latin word eruca, which once designated a particular plant in the family Brassicaceae (probably a type of cabbage). Arugula (/əˈruːɡələ/), the common name now widespread in the United States and Canada, entered American English from a non-standard dialect of Italian. The standard Italian word is rucola, a diminutive of the Latin "eruca". The Oxford English Dictionary dates the first appearance of "arugula" in American English to a 1960 article in The New York Times by food editor and prolific cookbook writer Craig Claiborne.

GAG ME.

by Anonymousreply 28April 23, 2019 8:13 AM

I'm going to make a frittata tomorrow with leftover asparagus and Pecorino Romano.

by Anonymousreply 29April 23, 2019 8:28 AM

I hope you used creamery butter and farm fresh eggs!

by Anonymousreply 30April 23, 2019 8:31 AM

r30 I'll use the $3.19 XL Cage Free Eggs (orange-brown wrapper) I get at WFM, plus their less expensive butter.

by Anonymousreply 31April 23, 2019 8:36 AM

I hope you used seven minute frosting on your Lady Baltimore OP.
