Today’s flexing Herculean superstar models have left the multiplexes and found a new home online, where tags such as #aesthetic and #motivation provide forums in which body artists and male aesthetics exhibitionists can flaunt their work. Teen males are adopting bodybuilding as one of the best ways to improve their social status and get hundreds of thousands of drooling followers. Young men believe Muscles are the surest way to be seen as a hot Alpha and to get access to hotties in the dating pool.
Why are so many Teens into Bodybuilding? Part 2

It’s becoming huge among even Younger boys now, at middle school

Because of how the tide has turned as far as sexualization of minors goes. It used to be that female teenagers were incredibly sexualized, and thus teenage girls focused more on stuff like their tit size. Now that male teenagers and men in general are more sexualized than women, teen boys feel more of a pressure to be what the world wants a sexy boy to be (chiseled, toned physiques).

It is amazing how society is obsessed with the activities of the young.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 27, 2019 9:43 PM |
Obesity is rising and people are complaining that young people are exercising?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 27, 2019 9:44 PM |
Young people can do nothing that will have someone complaining.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 27, 2019 9:45 PM |
"Obesity is rising and people are complaining that young people are exercising?
Bodybuilding and ingesting steroids is not exercising, R9. There are plenty of people going to the gym daily (sometimes twice a day) who are not leading a healthy lifestyle.

Lazy and envious want people to be ashamed of having self-love and wanting to improve their self-esteem with this demonization of bodybuilding.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 27, 2019 10:00 PM |
And who said that everyone who exercises wanna be bodybuilding? Many just want some muscles.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 27, 2019 10:04 PM |
How much exaggeration! They talk as if all young people were going to be bodybuilders. Some just want to have definite bodies.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 27, 2019 10:06 PM |
Of course
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 27, 2019 10:08 PM |
Looks like you're demonizing the muscles. We have to warn about the balance and not using steroids.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 27, 2019 10:10 PM |
Because the if information and nutrition for bodybuilding are easily available on the internet. And because they can show off their bodies on IG.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 27, 2019 10:12 PM |
Men were too embarrassed for a long time to have no vanity and self-love that this was a "woman or gay" thing. Now we are finally overcoming the barrier and may have a little self-esteem and vanity some lazy or jealous women want to make it look "wrong".
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 27, 2019 10:13 PM |
I think we need to make a distinction between body builder and fit. A lot of guys are into fitness, but they follow bodybuilders for workout routines. The number of both have increased but I much prefer a teenager that workout to a fat slob. Not all bodybuilders take steroids. These teens can literally make some money if their social media pages get popular, so why not capitalize on that while your young and marketable?

Excessive body building - whatever the age- seems to be a compensation for some other deficiency. This guy I worked for was so buff, he practically waddled down the hall because of the muscles in his legs, but he was extremely short, so now he looks like a fireplug. For his bluster about muscles, it looked like Inferiority Complex 101. I assume it's the same thing for young guys that do this too - girls won't notice your pimply face if you've got big muscles.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 24, 2019 12:14 PM |
A fireplug?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 24, 2019 12:39 PM |
FIREPLUG: A term usually attributed to a man whose physical stature closely resembles a fireplug/fire hydrant. He is usually of below average height, stocky or muscular build, thick arms and legs, with a thick or not readily visible neck.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 24, 2019 1:23 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 24, 2019 2:59 PM |
The concentrate on this stuff to get sexual attention and the admiration of the boys they are in competition with. Their bodies are more beautiful on average. than probably any time in modern history. But all this attention on the physical is often at the expense of cultivating their minds and their critical thinking skills. They are ripe for right wing manipulation, as they are often as stupid as a box of hair.

In some cases it's the other side of the coin from young women and anorexia.
Being fit is admirable and a great goal. But going overboard has a lot to do with the mental state of a young man.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 8, 2020 4:50 PM |
R52 not exactly, no. This is only looking at the situation from a masc-attracted male perspective.
The pumped look will draw unanimous admiration & sexual attention from men (as evidenced here), but we must remember that women aren’t stimulated sexually by appearances in the same way as men. Straight females typically show attraction to things in our world that are cute & pretty in a manageable non-threatening way, and their menfolk are no exception. Most everyday straight women also enjoy caring and tending to other people and creatures; they appreciate the mighty eagle but only for the wounded bird inside. How else could slight or thin or feminine movie-stars and bandmembers garner hordes of slaverint female followers?
Reciprocally-speaking even the most sexually-active females favor men who will charm them, pay active attention to them and cater to their emotional needs. To do all this requires a certain degree of empathy, intelligence (at least emotionally) and ideally a way with words that speak to women - all things you cannot develop in the gym. To ensure chances of success with a woman it helps enormously for a gentleman to possess healthy attractive genes and/or a flush bank account, all good markers for successful breeding. For the majority of women money, handsome looks, eloquence & old-school wooing come before a fit muscled body every time.
My main source for this study is my straight Millennial sister, who bitches constantly about her jacked Arab boyfriend’s addiction to bodybuilding contests that have taken away from establishing a good career and finishing College etc. She started dating him in the first place when he was natural-sized and not into fitness, and as far as I know he only bagged her because he has a nice face, runs around after her and comes from a wealthy family. She would be happier with him if he used time & energy to work on their intimacy a lot more, or gain some interesting useful skills, or network with the right people to help set up their future life, or even just build them a house or something like that. She hates the buff look and finds gym-goers boring.

This kid popped up on my Youtube feed and a watched 2 or 3 because I wasn’t really familiar with this. In one he’s grooming his 13 year old brother to be a body builder and in another there is a friend who is doing it as well who is older, more sculpted and blonde who I’ll post a video of after this one.
What‘s strange is in the comments of this one there are about five, I swear to god, DLers who are talking about how they can’t wait until his 18th birthday and for him to be an Only Fans model and they will support him.
I don’t know if this is something he put forth in another video, but I’m imagining that many of these kids support their body building career by doing Only Fans and I think in a not necessarily sexual way with other guys, but by body building shots and maybe jerk off videos? Does anyone know, is that a thing?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 20, 2020 3:49 AM |
Here’s the blonde, built, older one cliff diving with him on his own channel.

r67 Given all that you say r67 and I am not trying to dispute it. Why are so many increasingly drawn to the gym lifestyle so zealously and dedicated to building uber masculine bodies? Is there an element of society suppressing something or neglecting a particular need in society that is now being chanelled and satisfied via the increasing fitness model culture or phenomenon?
by Anonymous | reply 110 | January 24, 2021 2:45 AM |
It's also about narcissism in which the involvement is with self. Years ago some comedienne said the only way you could get these guys attention was to get between them and their mirror image. Posing is self admiration and striving for "perfection" is self hatred in the sense that the individual always sees something wrong, imperfect that needs to be improved just like those girls who suffer from anorexia always see themselves as fat no matter how gaunt and haggard they look to most and some muscle bound body builders look distorted to me.
