Happened before too albeit as heterosexual fauxmances. The studio makers are kind of scared by the fact that Bohemian Rhapsody comparisons are going to be inevitable. They are not expecting it to be as huge as BR at the box office but they want to create more noise, publicity and hype the film as much as possible. It's possible that the Rocketman publicity team has taken notice and is using that to their advantage. But I don't believe it's a manufactured romance for publicity's sake.

Before Richard, Brandon had lived with his best friend, Kevin Rios, for quite some time. I was surprised when he moved out, because why? It's not like he had moved to another city. Why move in with someone, who also travels a lot and cannot take care of your dog when you are away. When he went to London with Richard a couple of weeks ago, he had left his dog with Kevin again.
