her bakery is located inside an outdoor shopping plaza my family and I go to often, and we stopped by for lunch yesterday- call it curiosity, but it was my suggestion. My mom ordered a carrot cupcake that was labeled as "award winning carrot" or something to that extent. I can't believe her kids aren't riddled with cavities, the amount of sugar in those things is insane. I got an iced latte and my sister got a hot one and the coffee was absolute garbage, which considering it's a bakery not a cafe I guess I can get over, but why serve something your employees don't know how to properly make?

Anyway, it's not some out of this world bakery, and the stuff they sell isn't stellar. I'd give it a 3/5, and I don't understand how they're planning on opening more locations.

I’ve also seen comments about dry, hard, or stale baked goods and slow, disorganized service. I always take reviews with a big grain of salt but these were repeat complaints, not outliers.

I will say the sandwiches we ordered for lunch were pretty great, in all fairness. Not as great as Empire Baking Co. for example, but we were all pleased. The issue was with the baked goods which, unless I'm wrong, is the whole point of a bakery? I'm assuming it's stayed open for this long because the interior is nice. It's small, but in a nice part of town and the inside looks like something out of Arch. Digest. Seriously it's all people taking selfies and pictures of food in there. I had lunch there last year visiting Dallas. It has nice decor and it's in a really great part of Dallas. I really liked my sandwich but I would have to agree with the comments about the baked goods. They were waaaaayyyyyy too sweet, some were stale, and they aren't so great that you have to go out of your way to get Bird Bakery. Some of the baked goods tasted like store bought baked goods you get at HEB.

Is anyone surprised tho, judging by what she posts about the bakery, all the stuff is as mediocre as they come. Nothing mind-blowing, would've been nice if there was something unconventional, but that's a bit too much to ask for Mrs basic stale white bread.
