Patrick "coming out" on Schitt's Creek last night

I thought it was a terrible episode. Bad acting from Noah Reid as Patrick. Dude needs to learn how to cry convincingly. Every story was poor and undeveloped. Moira selling herself out. Lame. The mislead on the homophobic parents. I gave it 3/10. They should have focused on the parents instead of giving most of the cast nothing to do. Poor Stevie got nothing and she is one of the best actors on the show. She knows how to cry.

OP = spoiler bitch

by Anonymousreply 1March 20, 2019 1:20 PM

I was about to post about it in the official thread but decided against it because it hasn't aired in the US yet (I think).

That wasn't very nice of you, OP.

If you don't like spoilers, don't read ANYTHING, stupid cunts.

by Anonymousreply 3March 20, 2019 1:35 PM

That... makes zero sense whatsoever, r3.

by Anonymousreply 4March 20, 2019 1:38 PM

Be careful OP. Someone here once threatened to murder me for spoiling a Big Brother eviction for the west coast.

by Anonymousreply 5March 20, 2019 1:41 PM

To be fair to OP, the Schitt's Creek twitter had heavily suggested Patrick's coming out to his parents this week.

by Anonymousreply 6March 20, 2019 1:43 PM

r6 I think it's everything else he said that's the issue. Now people will be going in thinking it will suck.

Anyway, no one is going to murder you for spoiling something before it actually airs, it's just not considered polite. Especially when you make a whole new thread for just that one episode, as if you're getting a kick out of spoiling people. Last time I saw behaviour like that was on those wretched IMDb boards.

by Anonymousreply 7March 20, 2019 2:00 PM

Good grief. Dataloungers are so delicate that they can't be called bitches without thinking it's a literal murder threat.

Try some chamomile and St. Johns Wort, darlings.

by Anonymousreply 8March 20, 2019 2:05 PM

These days half the episodes of SC always suck. So that is too bad.

by Anonymousreply 9March 20, 2019 9:06 PM

Tough shit, r1 and r2, it's ALL about me, and my ALL important opinions!

by Anonymousreply 10March 20, 2019 9:08 PM

For those revolting cunts who bitch about spoilers, don't read anything on social media etc. No one gives a fuck about you cunts.

by Anonymousreply 11March 20, 2019 9:12 PM

OP your opinion seems odd - the episode is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews on Twitter today - people loved it

by Anonymousreply 12March 20, 2019 9:13 PM

Yes r12, but who are you paying attention to, ME! Because I'm a contrarian, my opinion is special and unique because it's stupid.

by Anonymousreply 13March 20, 2019 9:15 PM

R12 Drop dead, fascist cunt.

by Anonymousreply 14March 20, 2019 9:22 PM

The boys discuss the episode here.

Spoilage will ensue, watch at your own risk.

I personally loved the episode.

This show is soooo uneven. There can be a great episode followed by a dud. Patrick and David have NO chemistry whatsoever, and the guy who plays Patrick is wooden.

I’m really tired of Eugene Levy and Katherine O’Hara’s perpetual awkward, fish-out-of-water storylines. Neither has had any real character development through the course of the entire series, especially Levy. I don’t get Moira’s character; the superciliousness, overblown vocabulary and weird accent are just not appealing to me in the least, and I isually adore O’Hara.

Stevie, David and Alexis save it, though David is getting a little precious, and that scene of him lisynching to Tina Turner is one of the most painful things I’ve seen on TV ever.

by Anonymousreply 16March 20, 2019 11:26 PM

That's an impressive sequence of terrible opinions, r16. Noah Reid isn't wooden at all, he and Dan Levy have lovely chemistry and Moira's over-the-topness is the whole damn point of her character.

by Anonymousreply 17March 20, 2019 11:37 PM

This show is OVAH!

And Daniel Levy is fat.

by Anonymousreply 18March 20, 2019 11:39 PM

Love this show, but you can tell Daniel Levy is one of the writers. No way would a cute masculine guy like Patrick EVER go for a flamboyant, mincing queen like David in real life lol.

by Anonymousreply 19March 21, 2019 12:12 AM

OK, I haven't seen it yet and the spoiler doesn't tell me much that I haven't predicted.

My spidey sense tells me that Patrick's parents attend the surprise party, and the surprise is not only on Patrick but on his parents who don't know that their son is gay.

by Anonymousreply 20March 21, 2019 12:16 AM

Noah Reid has the acting range on a 2X4 but is less flexible.

by Anonymousreply 21March 21, 2019 2:48 AM

"Stevie, David and Alexis save it, though David is getting a little precious, and that scene of him lipsynching to Tina Turner is one of the most painful things I’ve seen on TV ever."

Agree with you 100%. The episodes, including this absurd coming out episode are credited as written by Daniel Levy. I have noticed anything written by him is unfunny and just awful. So far this season and last as well, half the episodes just suck and are not funny. David lipsynching to Tina Turner was completely unnecessary and puts a knife in the creativity of Patrick singing it the week before. My favourite character is Alexis (and Ted as her sidekick), then Stevie and Moira. Eugene Levy is the straight man of the bunch and does not have much to do except react to the setups. In 2019, unless the parents are insane evangelicals or moslem, most kids have no reason to worry about coming out. That makes Patrick's angst unbelievable and unnecessary.

by Anonymousreply 22March 21, 2019 8:33 AM

Well, I loved the episode and found it totally believable in the SC universe.

by Anonymousreply 23March 21, 2019 3:39 PM

I must not be very discerning because I always love this show.

by Anonymousreply 24March 21, 2019 4:38 PM

The only thing I didn't see coming was Patrick's parents acceptance of his being gay. But had they always known, or did they just not give a fuck.

by Anonymousreply 25March 21, 2019 5:42 PM

I don't think they knew, but it seemed as if they really loved their son and would accept him no matter what.

by Anonymousreply 26March 21, 2019 7:32 PM

Cancelled after season 6. :(

by Anonymousreply 27March 21, 2019 10:48 PM

No, renewed for a final season. Dan Levy has been hinting about the end of the series for awhile.

by Anonymousreply 28March 21, 2019 11:16 PM

Considering half the episodes this season and last were laugh-free POS, yes over due to end it.

by Anonymousreply 29March 22, 2019 6:08 AM

I think what this show has always been missing is a villain or rival to the Roses or to the town. When the Roses are threatened that is when they are at their best.

by Anonymousreply 30March 22, 2019 7:23 AM

R30 the show is what it is. It doesn't need any retarded suggestions from you.

by Anonymousreply 31March 22, 2019 9:48 AM

R31=Daniel Levy

by Anonymousreply 32March 24, 2019 4:17 PM

R32 =fucktard.

by Anonymousreply 33March 24, 2019 8:26 PM

r32, which is funny because Dan Levy has Down Syndrome eyes.

by Anonymousreply 34March 31, 2019 4:50 AM

R4 the point is who gives a fuck if others "spoil" shit for you scumbags. You are nothing important.

by Anonymousreply 35March 31, 2019 5:08 AM

Schitt's Creek is one of those shows you just know is going to be hysterical, then after a couple episodes you lose interest. Can't believe it's on a 4th season.

by Anonymousreply 36March 31, 2019 5:25 AM

Watch "made in heaven" for a sensitively handled gay storyline

(no I am not pitching my show)

by Anonymousreply 37March 31, 2019 5:42 AM

No one cares for coming out episodes anymore. It’s been done to death.

by Anonymousreply 38March 31, 2019 5:53 AM

As many have pointed out, it is even worse when a non-actor piece of wood like Noah Reid cannot cry even a little bit convincingly. His introduction brought down the quality of the show by at least 50% and it has never recovered.

by Anonymousreply 39March 31, 2019 6:10 AM

Truth.
