Based on what I have seen from him, I’d break him down this way:
—Gay porn-quality appearance, waning with each passing year. Was a Falcon type, then perhaps a Titan Men type briefly, and now looks like a Family Dick daddy or a Mormon porn “elder,” which seems like it could be exactly the right fate for him.
—Politically charismatic, but primarily due to appearances. Vapidness beneath the charisma revealed by defenses like “haters gonna hate!”
—Politically incompetent, aside from being a loyal party follower vs. showing any leadership.
—Profound mix of naivety and ignorance with respect to limitations of political office, including general knowledge of what’s allowable by law, common sense and sound judgment, which I would consider important for someone who has a hand in writing laws to understand first and foremost.
—No personal accountability whatsoever.
—Martyr and victim complexes, which look odd on a grown man.
—Irredeemable anti-LGBT actions, probably stemming from self-hatred, but at this point he has forgone every opportunity to redeem himself.
That’s really all I see. Someone called him a bimbo and it does seem like a fitting description: he is all style and no substance.
The one thing I do suspect he has been competent at doing is manipulating and probably blackmailing Republicans in some way or another. It’s entirely speculative but I just don’t see how he could have gotten all those charges dropped and continued to maintain his luxurious lifestyle while shunned and under indictment, and to show off his provileges all the while on Instagram, without powerful friends doing him favors. I still suspect Paul Ryan has pulled strings for him as a favor, and I suspect Ryan would not do that unless Schock had leverage against him.
Either way, Schock seems parasitic, taking and amassing and thriving as he drains the life from his hosts without giving anything back. I think it’s appropriate to dislike him because of his antigay record, but that is only one reason. He has shown a lack of character and integrity throughout his political career. He did press interviews during the week after his charges were dropped and he could have admitted fault and expressed gratitude for being forgiven for having been naive and ignorant, but instead he proclaimed himself a victor and said his mission now is to protect members of Congress from being prosecuted for breaking laws as he did. He deserves all he is getting. No defenders here are going to change the minds of anyone who has tracked his career.
You blew it, Aaron. You seem to be a clinical narcissist and if you are, you can’t change your personality and don’t want to. Reading this will only make you scheme and plot to spin all the observations in your defense, but for a narcissist you are exceptionally unconvincing.
