Brett and his mother accompanied Jackson while the video was filmed with basketball star Michael Jordan and ‘90s kids hip-hop group Kriss Kross. Wade Robson was there to dance for the video, though the boy only managed a split-second on-screen feature.

James, now fourteen, arrived later to the set from Washington, D.C., a trip Jackson had organized and funded for the teenager.

By all accounts — James’s included — if Jackson wasn’t working on the video, he devoted his time to Brett Barnes. Joy Robson also recollected in 2005 during Jackson’s child molestation trial that she and her son only saw Jackson on set, perhaps not even for lunch, and didn’t know what hotel he’d booked for the stay.

James knew, however. Brett Barnes slept with Jackson in Jackson’s hotel room, and, as he had when the three of them were together at the Hideout, Jimmy was consigned to a room alone. He was jealous and the rejection was upsetting, James remembers — he cried about it. Jackson was annoyed. “Decedent saw Plaintiff crying,” James’s Complaint says, “and within one-two days afterwards, Plaintiff was told by Bill Bray, Decedent’s longtime head of security/bodyguard, that he was going to be sent home, and the next day Plaintiff was on an airplane returning to California several days earlier than his scheduled departure.”

James says the sexual abuse stopped completely as Jackson became more interested in his ‘special friendship’ with Brett Barnes. Call frequency diminished.

Watching that doc from 2004 with Diane Diamond and LaToya really puts it all into perspective. The whole history that we KNOW; the facts that aren't in dispute, completely corroborates the words of Wade and James. And those facts are extensive. There is not one thing you can point to and say "We know THIS happened, so it casts doubt on their stories." But every other fact you can look at and say "This jibes with Wade and James' stories."

R27 Apparently Jimmy's father, not James, was the subject of a lawsuit. I didn't take that video seriously as the creator thinks MJ is still alive. She alleged that the James Safechuck himself, not the father, was one of the defendants. However, that lawsuit is being reported on Reddit as an inheritance regarding a family business, so that looks to be more or less the truth. How much Safechuck was supposed to gain from that inheritance is unknown but likely a substantial amount. It's also worth nothing that both Robson and Safechuck owe thousands in legal fees to the Jackson estate.

R36 - first off, Wade was not "fucked" until 7 years after meeting MJ (if I remember the documentary correctly). Sexual passes were made must faster in Wade's case however - and inappropriate sexual acts happened almost immediately. I can see a few reasons for this. First, James was molested years before and possibly MJ was more timid with his early victims; practice makes perfect as they say. Second, James was admittedly not a big fan and certainly not as star-struck as the obsessed, number-one-fan-in-the-world Wade who would do anything to meet, look like, dance like, sing like MJ, etc. Both cases were very different in the beginning. Retail places might not control the playlists for the store music. There are different music service/radio providers for stores and they usually offer systems with different channels catered to certain eras and genres. When I worked at grocery store in college around the early and mid 2000s, the receiving manager picked what channels/stations were played in the store during the early to afternoon hours. The audio system was located in his office. He loved classic rock and either set the store system to classic rock or channel that played music from the 60s to 80s. After he was off shift, one of the managers would go back and change the system to some kind of current pop hits channel.

I don't agree. That was the most powerful part of the film for me. It's sending a message that they won't be silenced with money or material goods now, and are willing to sacrifice for a greater cause. It was very fitting to see Jacko going up in flames at the end.
