Chris would have had no custody worries*. Everyone marveled at what a hands-on (no pun intended) and loving dad he was. From what I gather on SM, he did a lot of housework and child care, and Shanann left them a LOT to go on her Thrive trips.

Of course, all she’d have to do is throw a few molestation accusations around and we know what would have happened. I don’t think shady Shanann would have been above that.

It seems Chris whacked out due to Shanann withholding the kids from his parents and threatening to withhold the kids from him. During the week he was in NC, he had to visit his parents alone. Then Shanann booked a condo in Myrtle Beach so the rest of the week they wouldn’t even be near his parents. I didn’t listen to the audio, but Chris supposedly asserted that Shanann threatened he’d never see the kids again if they divorced.

Interestingly, finances weren’t a huge trigger, as he still was as dumb as a box of rocks about their debt spiral. According to Reddit posters who listened to the audio, he said Shanann told him she had been mailing the HOA checks to the wrong address for over a year and that’s why they got the summons in June, 2018. He also said their medical debt wasn’t discharged in the 2015 chapter 7 BK. Then he said they didn’t pay taxes on the Thrive income.

He didn’t know how to access their accounts and his check went into a banking account for Shanann to pay bills, as years ago Shanann told him he wasn’t good with money since he sold a car for less than what the loan balance was. How in the world can anyone be so stupid about money?

I think that psych person who surmised Chris had Dependant Personality Disorder was correct.

I can't believe so many people are taking what Chris says at face value. There's evidence that he *planned* to murder her for at least a few days, maybe weeks (asking to look at the neighbors' security cam footage, setting up his alibi the day before, etc).

Claiming that he acted out of spontaneous anger during a fight makes him seem slightly more sympathetic, so of course he'd say that. He's a proven liar and murderer so why do so many people believe him?

Because he didn't want to pay alimony or child support or have to take care of them himself anymore. He'd lost weight and was having casual sex with women from Tinder and a new girlfriend from work. He wanted more income and time for those activities.

He planned it. Whether he and Shan'ann argued or not before he did it, is irrelevant. He was going to kill her and the kids that night. He wanted to be free of them. Telling the cops he was triggered by her threatening to take his kids away is just another pathetic attempt to give normal-thinking people A Reason they might accept, but neglecting to consider that his actions only prove he didn't want his kids around anyway.

As for his financial situation, of course he knew that he and Shan'ann were in a hole. He told his mistress about it, and she talked about it to the police. Trying to minimize their financial woes to the police, or making it look like Shan'ann wasnin control of all the money and he therefore didn't know anything, is all part of his attempt to hide that his motives were indeed, in large part, financial.

He did not love Shan'ann anymore, and obviously didn't feel much for his own spawn. He just wanted to be single, keep all his time and money to himself, and fuck lots of women now that he was no longer a fat tub.
