Ah why John Lewis? Not Hollywood
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 25, 2019 2:55 AM |
Poor Bradley.
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.
At this rate, he'll be tying Peter O'Toole for most nominations without a win.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 25, 2019 2:55 AM |
Did John Lewis have a stroke
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 25, 2019 2:55 AM |

Floppy Poopy Turds’ collapse is complete if it went 0 for 4.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 25, 2019 2:57 AM |
Exactly R7. They're trying so hard to include everyone that it's less about the actual quality of the movies and more about giving everyone an award for just being 'you'.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 25, 2019 2:57 AM |
Freddie was bi but everyone seems to be ignoring that, so.

British trash
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Ha! I just won my Oscar pool, cunts. Seriously, I figured the ACTUAL "favourite" would win, not awful Glenn or hack Gaga. (Though she deserved it more than Rami did.)
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
This is fantastic.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
R41 - it's a not to be missed. Loved it.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Glenn must be really hated in order to lose seven out of seven times.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Olivia’s dress is very beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Glenn needs to run up on stage and snatch the Oscar and tell her it is hers...cut that bitch if necessary
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Can't we find something for Glenn?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Tonight’s votes were tabulated by the accounting firm of Streep, Streep and Streep.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Gaga said OMG
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Glenn is the epitome of dignity in her loss. No surprise.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Olivia is wonderful. So glad she won.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
So nice of Olivia to mention G in her speech. Good consolation prize.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
That is the shittiest speech.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 25, 2019 3:01 AM |
Glenn laughing! I suppose the Xanax must've just kicked in.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
Glenn is Hillary Clinton. As I said on an earlier thread. But to be fair, Olivia isn’t Donald.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
They have to give glenn an honorary one , right?
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
I was first choice for The Favourite
by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
This speech is hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
Glenn will get an honorary next year, I'm calling it now
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
I love Olivia but feel sorry for Glenn.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
I love Olivia
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
Who gives a shit just so long as Lady Fuckface lost.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 25, 2019 3:02 AM |
Lucy cried when Rami won! She’s so happy for her man!

god, I'm exhausted with this white woman
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
Glenn will just have to work harder.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
Netflix strikes again. Colman is the queen in the next few seasons of The Queen! Conspiracy!
She is awesome though!!!
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
Was she on drugs? drunk? That was embarrassing
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
These Walmart ads are so contrived. Jesus, enough.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
I would have rather Glenn won and Rami lost.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
Glenn and Bradley can now hang out together.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
At least CaCa didn't win. She shouldn't have even been nominated.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
Olivia clearly did not expect to win.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
Colman and Ali will both win Emmys this year, I love it.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | February 25, 2019 3:03 AM |
I guess Emma stone goes my Emily in real life cuz that’s how she referenced her
by Anonymous | reply 100 | February 25, 2019 3:04 AM |
Lucy cried when Rami won! She’s so happy for her man!
"Man" = $250,000 bearding bonus for that kiss
by Anonymous | reply 101 | February 25, 2019 3:04 AM |
The Marys who are devastated for G are hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | February 25, 2019 3:04 AM |
Glenn Close will be left out of the "In Memoriam" when she dies.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | February 25, 2019 3:04 AM |
i had to get a glass of wine
by Anonymous | reply 104 | February 25, 2019 3:04 AM |
What did Glenn do to deserve this lack of respect in Hollywood?
by Anonymous | reply 105 | February 25, 2019 3:04 AM |
SNL sketch Alex Forrest boiling Olivia's bunny.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
So Malek, a heterosexual, wins for playing a gay male icon?
Fuck that cicada bug eyed Egyptian
by Anonymous | reply 107 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
Olivia clearly did not expect to win.
She even said as much in her speech to Glenn.
Olivia's brilliant, and she's brilliant in the role... it's just weird because Glenn seemed like such an easy choice for the Academy.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
G should burn the place down
by Anonymous | reply 109 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
I hope there's not a shocker for Best Picture.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
That sound you just heard is millions of people across the country turning their televisions off in disgust
by Anonymous | reply 111 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
LOL R103
by Anonymous | reply 112 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
I can understand if hate The Oscars but every now and then they do something beautiful like giving Olivia an Oscar..
Poor poor Glen dressed up like an Oscar for nothing. I'm laughing my head off. Has M made a comment yet ?
by Anonymous | reply 113 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
R71, Olivia is Bernie Sanders.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
Sad for Glen
by Anonymous | reply 115 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
I’m certain my theory was correct-Close lost because it was just a very good performance in a truly lousy film. I definitely think that made the difference.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
Olivia should have said, "This isn't one of those La La Land/Moonlight things, is it?" She would've gotten a laugh.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
Yay for Olivia!
Still, she should have thanked the behind-the-scenes people who pushed her two co-stars into Best Supporting, in a frank case of category fraud.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
Olivia obviously didn't have a speech and Glenn was dressed in gold.
Yeah, no one saw this coming.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | February 25, 2019 3:05 AM |
Black Panther is going to win.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
@RamiMalek
THANK YOU to the Academy and everyone involved with #BohemianRhapsody! I'm in shock, but did you notice my heterosexual erection when I kissed Lucy #Oscars2019
by Anonymous | reply 121 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
Glenn is one of our stone-faced 80’s idols.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
Wow, I was really pulling for Glenn Close.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
That sound you just heard is millions of people across the country turning their televisions off in disgust
I don't think anyone cares about Glenn Close that much. lol
by Anonymous | reply 124 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
I'd have preferred she'd lost to Gaga or that fat woman...
by Anonymous | reply 125 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
Somebody make sure Glenn doesn't have a knife.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
Wow they did Glenn dirty. Making the old gal believe she was going to win and then snatching it away at the last moment.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
Olivia Coleman is akin to Adrien Brody winning.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
I actually loved Olivia Colman in AMC's "The Night Manager," so I am familiar with her work.
Still, if Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellwegger, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Reese Witherspoon all have Oscars, then GLENN FUCKING CLOSE should have an Oscar.
The Academy voters did this out of spite, just to be cunts.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | February 25, 2019 3:06 AM |
FAT FUCK
by Anonymous | reply 130 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
Gillermo lay off the churros, hon
He has churro fever
by Anonymous | reply 131 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
Lady Gaga has an Oscar, but Glenn Close doesnt. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
by Anonymous | reply 132 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
Well, at least it's not like the Russians fucked with the voting.
Obviously.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
I can already tell Glenn is on the phone with her agent demanding to start production on Sunset Boulevard tomorrow.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
That’s one pear shaped director
by Anonymous | reply 135 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
Hoping for an upset here!
by Anonymous | reply 136 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
It was inevitable. Oscar voters are SUCKERS for British royalty,
by Anonymous | reply 137 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
R128- No, Adrian Brody = Rami.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
She wore that ridiculous dress for nothing
by Anonymous | reply 139 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
Please not Spike again
by Anonymous | reply 140 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
Fucking wonderful. I have been watching her for years. Who would have ever thought Sophie from PEEP SHOW would have won an Oscar.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
Fuck that stupid bitch and her voters. What a bunch of assholes!
by Anonymous | reply 142 | February 25, 2019 3:07 AM |
This was supposed to be Glenn's year. That oscar was hers, what a punch in the gut. She'll never win one. Have to get an honorary actor.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Like I said Glad the academy voters didn't do the "she should win because..." It was a Lifetime Movie role. She's not dead yet. She will have another role that she really deserves an award for.
GaGa looked not so much disappointed but legit huh? I am sure she thought Glenn would win. I didn't see a reaction shot from Glenn, anyone? What was it?
by Anonymous | reply 144 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
R118 - Olivia Colman’s Queen Anne Is the Main Character of ‘The Favourite’ — The Editing Proves It
by Anonymous | reply 145 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Glenn Close will be left out of the "In Memoriam" when she dies.
Oh yes. When I die, I'll get the last spot. The Academy has already had pick out my clips.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Now that she's lost this year's Best Actress Oscar, G must feel especially ridiculous in selecting that sad golden sheathe-cape, with its sad little 'Pocket Flaps.'
by Anonymous | reply 147 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Moral to this story: never kill a rabbit in a movie, you will never win an Oscar.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Yay Mexicans! 🇲🇽
by Anonymous | reply 149 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Now I will hate Olivia Coleman forever.
Enough with these damn Brits and Mexicans winning.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
This is horrifying.
Has any "acclaimed" actor been so pissed on, so blatantly, by the Academy?
The woman was getting Oscar buzz in 1982, for God's sake.
Garp. Big Chill. Dangerous Liaisons. Fatal Attraction. Any one of those were Oscar-worthy roles, and the last was better than many actual Oscar winners in different years.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
If you have not watched the British sitcom Peep Show, do. Only Ab Fab is better, and Olivia is wonderful in it.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Mexicano time
by Anonymous | reply 153 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
This is Lauren Bacall shit all over again
by Anonymous | reply 154 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
R133 made me laugh. And r103 did, too.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Del Toro is going to get Cuaron sick!
by Anonymous | reply 156 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
del Toro looks like 1/3 of a Chrissy Metz there.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Look for Colman to take home the Emmy next year too for THE CROWN.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
Bo Rhap: 4
Black Panther: 3
Roma: 3
Green Book: 2
by Anonymous | reply 159 | February 25, 2019 3:08 AM |
We all know why Roma won.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 161 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
How many fucking Oscars does that man have now??
by Anonymous | reply 162 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
So Roma won? I only wanted VICE to win.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
UGH, I cannot stand this director.
He's a fucking poseur snob and so fucking rude. He was looking at his fucking cell during Rami's entire speech. Learn some fucking decorum Mr. Moneybags!
by Anonymous | reply 164 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
A Mexican and a Muslim won tonight! The racists' heads are gonna explode! (And Trump's)
by Anonymous | reply 165 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
Fourth oscar? Wasn't it just a couple of years ago that no Hispanics won for directing?
by Anonymous | reply 166 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
Roma sucked
by Anonymous | reply 167 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
This win will piss off Trump!
by Anonymous | reply 168 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
Move on R164
by Anonymous | reply 169 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
Go watch Olivia in Broadchurch - the first series was really good. She's a great actress, and that speech was a much needed breath of fresh air.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | February 25, 2019 3:09 AM |
Olivia Colman has an Oscar and Glenn Close doesn't.
by Anonymous | reply 171 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
I hope a B-List movie like Green Book or Bohemian Rhapsody or Black Panther wins, cause LOL
by Anonymous | reply 172 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Pocahontas next role is at the Taco Bell drive thru
by Anonymous | reply 173 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Cuaron doesn’t need a second directing Oscar, jesus what a waste.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Close was ripped off. Colman was good, not great. I’m tired of every actress who plays the queen winning an Oscar.
by Anonymous | reply 175 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Rami is a Coptic Christian not Muslim.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Rami is a Christian?
by Anonymous | reply 177 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Sorry Glen
by Anonymous | reply 178 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Who is the beautiful woman in the strapless red gown?
by Anonymous | reply 179 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
I had no idea who Coleman is, but damn, her acceptance speech was the highlight of the night.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | February 25, 2019 3:10 AM |
Oh, here we go. I don't want to hear about workers rights at the godddamn Academy Awards. Speak English!

Confession: I didn’t like Roma
by Anonymous | reply 184 | February 25, 2019 3:11 AM |
So Roma won? I only wanted VICE to win.
No, he won Best Director. Sometimes a director wins, but their film doesn't.
We can HOPE his overrated ROMA does not win. What a fucking boring film!
by Anonymous | reply 185 | February 25, 2019 3:11 AM |
I wouldn't dream of watching the show, which I find boring. But I have been scrolling through the Daily Mail's fashion pix, and think the gowns were quite creative and interesting this year. Except for Maya Rudolph's, pee-yoo!
by Anonymous | reply 186 | February 25, 2019 3:11 AM |
So if Netflix can win Oscars, Snapchat should start cranking them out.
by Anonymous | reply 187 | February 25, 2019 3:11 AM |
Glenn SUCKED in "The Wife". How many fucking times did I tell you that???! Bernie Sanders will also win the Democratic nomination. So there. Suck it up, bitches. Ahahahahaha!!!

Glenn must have felt that loss deeply in her gut.
by Anonymous | reply 196 | February 25, 2019 3:11 AM |
I am THRILLED for Olivia Coleman!
by Anonymous | reply 197 | February 25, 2019 3:11 AM |
Netflix is probably jizzing that Olivia won. Even more eyeballs for the new season of The Queen. (I still think she was miscast. But we will see

Olivia Colman wasn’t even the lead
by Anonymous | reply 199 | February 25, 2019 3:12 AM |
Glenn Close is too fine an actress to need an Oscar. Her career is her award. I mean, she played Maxie.

this awards show was bought
by Anonymous | reply 201 | February 25, 2019 3:12 AM |

Roma won Best foreign film, Best Director and Cinematography
by Anonymous | reply 302 | February 25, 2019 3:18 AM |
Well, the Glenn upset was unexpected, and they say these award shows are 100% predictable.
Coleman and McCarthy got the biggest cheers from the crowd when introduced. Close's reception was tepid. So I guess it wasn't a big shock to the voters.
Also, what an awkward end to the show.
by Anonymous | reply 303 | February 25, 2019 3:18 AM |
Well, then bring Viggo on up there so we can drool on him.
by Anonymous | reply 304 | February 25, 2019 3:18 AM |

I like the other Mexican director, Guillermo del Toro, who won last year for his creature movie, which was actually quite entertaining and sad. He seems a lot more humble and with great sense of humor.

Green Book must have won due to the Best Pic preferred ballot, or whatever they call it. When there are several frontrunners in a tight race like this year, the 3rd or 4th place pick often comes out on top and wins.
by Anonymous | reply 363 | February 25, 2019 3:23 AM |
lol The Academy gave it to Green Book only to awards a bunch of [bold]white men[/bold]
The tone deaf producer said "it's all because of "Vigo." When you know the Academy awarded the movie because of the race factor.
They also didn't want to award it to a Mexican film because ironically they are probably too racist to really embrace true diversity.
Poor Glenny, I felt sad for her.

I know Glenn wanted it, and yes, it's awful she has never won--but Olivia did deliver the best performance of those 5. Glenn wasn't even second. Melissa McCarthy was almost as good as Colman.

It’s only the old racists on the DL, not the general public, thank god. This is a year with the mega blockbuster Black Panther, and Oscar bait movies like If Beale Street Could Talk, BlackkKlansman, Greenbook, and Into the Spider-Verse, so of course there would be blacks represented.

I think when Colman won the BAFTA and Glenn sat in her seat, instead of standing with everyone else got wind across the pond. No, R428. I'm actually not black, just been on DL long enough to know how hypocritical and racist a lot of you are when it comes to these things. You pretend there haven't been tons of shitty movies nominated over the years and only whine if some film that isn't "white" gets through the door. Then you just bitch and moan endlessly about "pc." Meanwhile, if every television show and every film doesn't have gays in it, you scream about it. You lack introspection is my point. You want representation as a gay person in everything and if it doesn't win every fucking award, you'll scream about it. Yet that to you, isn't "pc." You do understand that commercials -for example- featuring gay couples is considered "pc" to the average American, right?
A lot of you racist white gays lack self-awareness when it comes your minority status and how not being able to use "that's gay" in a derogatory way is considered "pc"
by Anonymous | reply 453 | February 25, 2019 3:44 AM |
R426, that's what I actually find so ironic about all of the bigots complaining on here every time a "black film" would win: hell, so many of the people who got the actual Oscar for them were white, not black. You'd think that would've shut them the hell up. But I guess for them it was just the whole idea of a "black film" winning anything that set them off.
by Anonymous | reply 454 | February 25, 2019 3:45 AM |

Something I am puzzled about, do people think giving Cuaron the award adds up to diversity? If so is that simply because he is from Mexico? Because he's just another white guy getting an award. It's not like he looks or is the same ethnicity as someone like Yalitza, now that would be something if someone indigenous got far enough in life to get an award like that. Cuaron is part of the Spanish colonizer crowd.
If he really wants to do something why doesn't he expose the corruption in his home country that leads to so many desiring to flee to America? Why not do an epic about the Spanish conquering Mexico? Fuck him and his privilege.

I love Olivia Colman, she's outstanding but didn't think her performance in The Favorite was Oscar worthy. She was good in it just like she is in everything else and I guess seeing her in Broadchurch her work in the Favorite pales in comparison.
Oh and watch Broadchurch, not only is Olivia amazing in it, it's a great piece of television.

It’s a real tragedy that neither Roma nor The Favourite won as they will go down as the two great works of cinema from this season.
I guess they split the votes and Green Book snuck in.

It was BRAVE of Rami Malek use his acceptance speech to speak about the Sexual Abuse in Hollywood——oh, he DIDN’T?...He spoke about himself?...Yep. He is filth alright. He could have been a proud gay man of color, but he chose the closet. He was practically begging for a job in his acceptance speech. How sad...

Spike really turned me off tonight. He acted like a complete asshole.
First, when it was announced he won, Adam Driver stood up to shake Spike's hand and he basically brushed by Adam to get to the stage where he proceeded to hog the spotlight. Ignoring his co-writers and making the speech all about himself.
And getting up during Green Book's win.
This isn't surprising behaviour but he really went the extra mile tonight.

R511, no photo yet but:
Per Deadline: “Pete Hammond, reporting from the Kodak Theatre, reported that Lee was clearly furious, got up and walked toward the back of the auditorium in a huff. He then turned back and appeared to get into an intense conversation with Jordan Peele, who was behind him. He was pacing the aisle and stormed to the back of the auditorium. When he came back, he turned his back to the stage during the speech.”

All the musical performances tonight were truly terrible. Gaga and Bradley sounded awful. Jennifer Hudson was flat and off-key the whole song and her voice is not pretty. Bette Midler bored the crowd to tears. The Queen opening was underwhelming.

Spike Lee is a complete asshole. I agree. If a white guy did the same for a black film, he would have been branded a racist. Oprah also lost — she was saying Black Panther should win best picture. Imagine Glenn’s speech if she had won, working in her gold dress with the gold statue. Richard Burton never won, and had seven nominations. Deborah Kerr was a better actress than Glenn, and she never won. Can’t wait to see how the British papers respond to Olivia’s win. Go Olivia!

Olivia Colman is a really talented actress and deserved to win. She was also great in THE LOBSTER, also directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, who did THE FAVOURITE.
I would bet money that Melissa McCarthy came in second in the voting for Best Actress.

R551 MARY! Glenn should have won for the role r552 posted. She was amazing in that. She should have been strongly considered for supporting in Reversal of Fortune. This move simply didn't have "it". It was Lifetime movie quality, and she was serviceable, but not outstanding in it. I didn't see it scooping up a bunch of other awards. It was a hail, um, Mary (heh) nomination that a lot of people bought into because it was "about time Glenn won" For once, the Academy voters didn't roll over, and that was accurate.
I do think there were many split votes, which is to say Glenn and GaGa canceled each other out. I think Coleman really did get the honest majority vote as from what I've seen of it, she was in a very fun, light film. I would bet anything McCarthy was thisclose to her. People really like her, and I am so glad to see her moving from "fatty falls down" roles, to being given roles where we can see her impressive acting chops. I said earlier she is our new Kathy Bates, and I stand behind that.
