Lee Radziwell Dead at 85

Vogue reports.

by Anonymousreply 57406/03/2019

She truly was America's princess!

by Anonymousreply 102/16/2019

I wonder if Carol will inherit? Perfect time for her to return to RHNYC.

by Anonymousreply 202/16/2019

Good Riddance to the original A Low Vera.

by Anonymousreply 302/16/2019

Good riddance.

by Anonymousreply 402/16/2019

But what about Lee Radziwill?

Am I still safe?

by Anonymousreply 502/16/2019

Wow - once again the DL is ahead of the curve. Lots of discussion about her recently. Can we do the same for Trump?

by Anonymousreply 602/16/2019

She's that classy lady that no one really's sure where she's the princess of.

by Anonymousreply 702/16/2019

She was on the last pallet of yellow government cheese inherited from Jackie.

by Anonymousreply 802/16/2019

Did she leave Carole anything in her will?

by Anonymousreply 902/16/2019

So sad! She died without ever reclaiming her rightful throne of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. RIP, our sweet princess.

by Anonymousreply 1002/16/2019

I believe she has a daughter. Carole was on the outs with her. Well known fact.

by Anonymousreply 1102/16/2019

What a complicated life.

by Anonymousreply 1202/16/2019

Perhaps that young chap Steve grande in a jockstrap could rustle up a swan song for her.

by Anonymousreply 1302/16/2019

She will be missed.

by Anonymousreply 1402/16/2019

The poor woman is dead and you can't be bothered to spell her name right? Show some respect, bitch!

by Anonymousreply 1502/16/2019

Did her..

by Anonymousreply 1602/16/2019

Her first husband was Michael Canfield, the illegitimate son of the gay Duke of Kent...

by Anonymousreply 1702/16/2019

I always found her to to be more interesting and attractive than Jackie.

by Anonymousreply 1802/16/2019

Link for r17

by Anonymousreply 1902/16/2019

How many of you ladies actually know how to pronounce her last name correctly?

by Anonymousreply 2002/16/2019

Do you think Carole will go to the funeral?

by Anonymousreply 2102/16/2019

She was just mentioned on the "are there any real socialites thread". Aww, Poor Princess; RIP.

by Anonymousreply 2202/16/2019

She has a daughter Anna that I know nothing about.

by Anonymousreply 2302/16/2019

Fun that WWD broke the news...

by Anonymousreply 2402/16/2019

Word on the street is that Lee and the entire Kennedy clan wanted nothing to do with Carole anymore.

by Anonymousreply 2502/16/2019

LOL There is no Kennedy family anymore! Wish there was a gay Kennedy though!!

by Anonymousreply 2602/16/2019

Herbie's waiting.

by Anonymousreply 2702/16/2019

Herbie hated her

by Anonymousreply 2802/16/2019

She was a confidante of Capote!

by Anonymousreply 2902/16/2019

This came out a few days ago:

EXCLUSIVE: Unique, forgotten footage of Lee Radziwill and Jackie Kennedy Onassis' summer on Andy Warhol's Montauk estate is unearthed

by Anonymousreply 3002/16/2019

Her tv debut in "Laura".....I tuned in! Is it available? Wasn't Robert Stack in it?

And what about "The Philadelphia Story"?

That was the end of that.

by Anonymousreply 3102/16/2019

She dated Peter Beard. She knew and socialized with Nureyev, among many, many other fascinating people. That woman lived my dream life.

by Anonymousreply 3202/16/2019

No grandchildren?

by Anonymousreply 3302/16/2019

We used to call her 'Turkey Jerky' behind her back.

by Anonymousreply 3402/16/2019

carole was her daughter in law, not her daughter.

by Anonymousreply 3502/16/2019

Her son Anthony died young of cancer, I wonder if he and Lee were close or estranged?

by Anonymousreply 3602/16/2019

She adored dark, uncut sizemeat and HATED RUBBERS!

by Anonymousreply 3702/16/2019

Ann Slaters gone, now Lee. The era DL love so much is ending with everyone of these socialites who pass on.

by Anonymousreply 3802/16/2019

R22 can you post that thread please? Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 3902/16/2019

"They're just a couple of fags"

by Anonymousreply 4002/16/2019

R39 here you go.

by Anonymousreply 4102/16/2019

R26 Of course some of the Kennedy’s are gay, just closeted. There are too many of them not for some to be gay. Joe Jr, the one who’s plain went down in WWII was gay, I’m certain of it.

by Anonymousreply 4202/16/2019

Anthony Radziwill and I both attended and graduated from Boston University's College of Communications. We graduated in in May 1982. BU had a main graduation for the entire school; however, each college within the university had its own separate, smaller graduation--and that's the one that Anthony and I attended. He was an undergrad, and I was a graduate student, but both groups of students graduated together at the smaller, college graduations. Lee, Jackie, Tina, Caroline and John-John sat right in the front row just a few feet away from the graduating students waiting in line before going on stage. There was no security surrounding them. I couldn't take my eyes off the whole family of course focusing on Jackie. They were just like a normal family cheering on Anthony when his name was called. The Radziwill and Kennedy clan had an extraordinary way of just focusing on each other and tuning out everyone surrounding them who were obviously staring at all of them. Anyway, it was all very exciting and added a nice touch of celebrity to my graduation. I am also from Boston, and at the time, Joe Kennedy III and his wife and kids also lived up the street from me. Yes, there were Kennedys all over Boston at the time.

by Anonymousreply 4302/16/2019

Tina, the daughter?

by Anonymousreply 4402/16/2019

Ghastly old cow.

by Anonymousreply 4502/16/2019

R45 = Jackie

by Anonymousreply 4602/16/2019

I was always the pretty one.

by Anonymousreply 4702/16/2019

But I had more class.

by Anonymousreply 4802/16/2019

R44: Yes, Princess Anna Christina (Tina) Radziwill is Lee's daughter and Anthony's sister (and Caroline and John's cousin.) Carole Ann Radziwill was Anthony's wife and currently is on the piece of shit Real Housewives show. (Prince) Anthony died of cancer in 1999 at 40, less than a month after JFK Jr died.

Anna Christina, like her mother, Lee, is also royal: Princess Anna Christina "Tina" Radziwill(18 August 1960) she married Octavio Arancio in September 1999 and they were divorced in 2005.

by Anonymousreply 4902/16/2019

Thanks for sharing R43. I think my eyes would have been glued to them the whole time too.

by Anonymousreply 5002/16/2019

Goodnight, Sweet Princess...may you and your beautiful sister enjoy unlimited SNAP benefits for all of eternity.

by Anonymousreply 5102/16/2019

She was just some rich, over-privileged socialite. Who gives a shit in 2019?

by Anonymousreply 5202/16/2019

And she treated ME like shit!!!

Rot in HELL, bitch!!!!

That was MY SEAT!!! And MY FILM.

CUNT!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 5302/16/2019

That’s not true, r42. Joe was going to marry ME!

by Anonymousreply 5402/16/2019

As someone who is not rich, or a socialite of any kind. I am actually interested. Who are the people of interest in 2019? There aren't any. The politicians? AOC? Warren? Trump? No thanks. You don't get it.

by Anonymousreply 5502/16/2019

Meant that for R2^

by Anonymousreply 5602/16/2019

Vile bitch.

by Anonymousreply 5702/16/2019

Funny that you hear almost nothing about her daughter, Tina Radziwill.

by Anonymousreply 5802/16/2019

She really had no grandchildren?

by Anonymousreply 5902/16/2019

She had Alzheimer's, her mother did too.

by Anonymousreply 6002/16/2019

goes to heaven, even god calls her Jackie's sister

by Anonymousreply 6102/16/2019

Always wondered what that funny looking Lee thought of this American Blue Blood

by Anonymousreply 6202/16/2019

At least she never had to go On Assistance.

by Anonymousreply 6302/16/2019

Lee wasn't married to Michael Canfield for but a few years, but in those days, women had babies right away. I'm surprised Lee didn't try to get knocked up so she'd have a kid or two with British royal blood. And Canfield died in 1969 at 43 but it seems kept a pretty low profile. The whole thing seems somewhat mysterious.

by Anonymousreply 6402/16/2019

Born in 1980, I randomly became obsessed with the Donghia furniture company 15 years ago or so - around the time that I bought my second home and actually had the money to furnish it with some decent pieces. Granted, I can only afford "sample sale" prices on these relatively pricey casement pieces, chairs, sofas, Murano lamps, etc. Researching the famous designer who started his namesake company (and sadly passed due to AIDS-related illness) led me to Lee many times. She was actually considered one of the top tier decorators during the late 1970's and early 1980's. Her work wasn't half bad; she was certainly no Angelo Donghia or Michael Taylor - but she had a contemporary look for the time (and one that still holds up today). I honestly didn't know much else about her. I am sure that her publicity (being published in AD and other industry magazines) was partially due to her fame as a socialite, but she deserved recognition nonetheless.

by Anonymousreply 6502/16/2019

Been waiting all day to see what you cunts would say about her!

by Anonymousreply 6602/16/2019

She was staunch!

S T A U N C H!

by Anonymousreply 6702/16/2019

Lee was never considered a top tier decorator. She was hired because she was Jackie's sister. Lee could never be involved in all the tiny details and got bored. Just like her failed acting career, decorating career and whatever else she tried. She was barely adequate at her Armani job, which was basically wearing clothes. Plus she was a cunt. Good riddance Princess.

by Anonymousreply 6802/16/2019

So you bought your "second home" in your mid-20s? In your dreams, r65. But thanks for playing.

by Anonymousreply 6902/16/2019

So will the daughter or daughter in law attend the funeral to make usre she's dead. I wonder which one will dance on her grave afterward.

by Anonymousreply 7002/16/2019

Did her pussy stink?

by Anonymousreply 7102/16/2019

If Carole has left RHONY, how does she support herself? She can't have inherited much and her "journalism" career was bush league. And the royalities from her attempts at writing have to be long gone.

by Anonymousreply 7202/16/2019

Joe Kennedy Jr was not gay. He was well-known as a womanizer and borderline rapist who prudent young women steered clear of.

by Anonymousreply 7302/16/2019

Does Lee have any friends alive?

by Anonymousreply 7402/16/2019

Lots of "friends" but no friends.

by Anonymousreply 7502/16/2019

R69, I bought my "second home" after selling my first one you idiot; I did not own two homes. Pretty standard fare for many. Not to mention that my younger sister's friends were buying multiple homes back in the "declared income" era of the early 2000's and they made less than half what I did. It was not hard to do....not at all.

by Anonymousreply 7602/16/2019

^Methinks you doth protest too much. But nice try.

by Anonymousreply 7702/16/2019

Please let us know if Susan Dey posts her condolences.

by Anonymousreply 7802/16/2019

Almost certainly r71.

by Anonymousreply 7902/16/2019

So... is there any money left behind? And who gets it?

by Anonymousreply 8002/16/2019

The NYT Obit is mean spirited. Like Lee?

by Anonymousreply 8102/16/2019

Good. She was a useless cunt.

by Anonymousreply 8202/16/2019

What about Susan Dey???

by Anonymousreply 8302/16/2019

We're all hookers, really, aren't we?

by Anonymousreply 8402/16/2019

Bad hair decade.

by Anonymousreply 8502/16/2019

The NYT OBIT is nasssssty!

by Anonymousreply 8602/16/2019

The R-rated version of the "Steel Magnolias" premiere story.

by Anonymousreply 8702/16/2019

😲😢 Awe that's sad r25 why is that?

by Anonymousreply 8802/16/2019

Joe Jr, the one who’s plain went down in WWII was gay, I’m certain of it.

Oh Dear! only the plain die young, the plane soar forever

by Anonymousreply 8902/16/2019

Lee is basically what most DLers want to be. A woman, glamorous, world famous, wealthy, a socialite, and your pick of any man you want.

Oh yeah, and attractive/beautiful etc etc.

by Anonymousreply 9002/16/2019

R76 I knew what you meant.

by Anonymousreply 9102/16/2019

i liked Lee

by Anonymousreply 9202/16/2019

All's Radziwill that ends Radziwill.

by Anonymousreply 9302/16/2019

I liked Lee, too.

by Anonymousreply 9402/16/2019
Lee Radziwill, the free-spirited former princess who shared the qualities of wealth, social status and ambition with her older sister, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, but who struggled as an actor, decorator and writer to share her sister’s aura of success, died on Friday at her home in Manhattan.

Meow!

by Anonymousreply 9502/16/2019

The NY Times obit:

by Anonymousreply 9602/16/2019
In a brief telephone interview for this obituary, Mrs. Radziwill scoffed at the notion that she had had an affair with Mr. Onassis, and insisted that she had “no regrets, none at all,” about her relationship with her sister, which was widely reported to have been strained after Mrs. Kennedy married Mr. Onassis.

Wait, what? I didn't realize that the New York Times has a habit of calling people to interview them for their obituaries.

by Anonymousreply 9702/16/2019

Yes, meow. R95. "Struggled...as a writer"? Perhaps. But I'd wager a guess that she authored three more books than the Page Six, er, NY Times obit writer.

by Anonymousreply 9802/16/2019

97 now you know.

by Anonymousreply 9902/16/2019

We never hear about Lee's daughter, (Princess) Anna Christina, "Tina" the way we occasionally heard about her brother (Prince) Anthony. We only hear about Lee's daughter-in-law, fame whore Real Housewife, Carole. Wikipedia has an Anthony Radziwill page but not a Tina page.

The cousins grew up together, Tina, Anthony, Caroline and John Kennedy. Anthony and John were best friends, and Anthony was John's best man at this wedding. I wonder if Tina and Caroline remained close as well especially now that they are the only two left?

by Anonymousreply 10002/16/2019

Lee liked to drink her own pee.

by Anonymousreply 10102/16/2019

Lee hated rhymes.

by Anonymousreply 10202/17/2019

Cecil Beaton on the Bouvier women: "[Jackie] is still the most photogenic person in the world, infinitely more so than her infinitely more beautiful sister."

by Anonymousreply 10302/17/2019

I wonder if Lee is burning in Hell?

by Anonymousreply 10402/17/2019

May I have her unused cartons of Benson & Hedges cigarettes?

by Anonymousreply 10502/17/2019

"Jackqueline" rhymes with "Queen"

"Lee" rhymes with "Twee"

by Anonymousreply 10602/17/2019

^Jacqueline

by Anonymousreply 10702/17/2019

Most homosexuals also pork fish, Mary r73.

by Anonymousreply 10802/17/2019

I once spilled a small amount of Pepsi on her. I was mortified because I usually only drink Coca - Cola.

by Anonymousreply 10902/17/2019

I saw a short but appropriate description of her on a FB feed of ex-Armani people: "a very bitter woman with great taste"

by Anonymousreply 11002/17/2019

Someone get that woman a sandwich!

by Anonymousreply 11102/17/2019

Was lee really as much of a character as DL makes her out to be? Or is this just DL having fun? I'm curious.

Because if so, she sounds like she was a a real character to be around.

by Anonymousreply 11202/17/2019

She and Jackie had the worst teeth.

by Anonymousreply 11302/17/2019

So young . . .

by Anonymousreply 11402/17/2019

Bye, bitch.

What iirks me is she declared herself a decorator and got lots of press for interiors she did - NONE of which looked anything above conventionally "classy".

by Anonymousreply 11502/17/2019

Always very kind to HRT.

by Anonymousreply 11602/17/2019

More of Lee's GROUNDBREAKING vision:

by Anonymousreply 11702/17/2019

The faces say it all -

by Anonymousreply 11802/17/2019

Who is going to pay her funeral costs?

by Anonymousreply 11902/17/2019

There might not get a funeral. Cremation and an ashtray for an urn.

by Anonymousreply 12002/17/2019

She brought an end to the Radziwell royal line: a dead son and a barren daughter.

by Anonymousreply 12102/17/2019

Lee Radziwill was always fascinating. Maybe other things too, but always fascinating.

by Anonymousreply 12202/17/2019

R121, hardly. The Prince had a son from his second marriage, with kids and grandkids now. Money-grubbing Lee didn't end any line. In fact, she was at the back of the line and thought she was at the front.

by Anonymousreply 12302/17/2019

The Real Lee Radziwill

by Anonymousreply 12402/17/2019

Talking About Lee

Sofia Coppola, Giambattista Valli and Peter Beard share their favorite moments with Lee Bouvier Radziwill.

by Anonymousreply 12502/17/2019

I wonder how million$ her NYC apartment will sell for? I also wonder if that's the apartment jackie brought for her. You know the one she did that interview in for Sophia coppala.

by Anonymousreply 12602/17/2019

Lee's apartment will sell for what it's worth. No one remembers the old hag and if they do they most likely aren't in a position to pay any premium. It's not like when Jackie died and people fought over her place.

by Anonymousreply 12702/17/2019
r122 Lee Radziwill was always fascinating

She was no Delilah-Judith

by Anonymousreply 12802/17/2019

Lee married after the prince. Then divorced. Again. She always kept the Prince's fancy name. This was deplorable pretentious cuntitude.

by Anonymousreply 12902/17/2019

Yes, I know she married again.

by Anonymousreply 13002/17/2019

What was the fall-out with Carole Radziwill about? I don't watch reality TV shows, so I know nothing about Carole R. But her Wiki page says that she took really good care of her husband, Lee's son, while he battled cancer. She can't be that bad.

by Anonymousreply 13102/17/2019

R131 Carole isn't bad at all, these old ass queens just don't like her because she did reality tv.

Plain and simple.

by Anonymousreply 13202/17/2019

Thanks, R132. That made me laugh.

by Anonymousreply 13302/17/2019

Lee had aspirations. Toward what, no one could ever really define.

She tried acting, decorating ... then fucking jet set Aristotle Onasis. Until her cunting sister swooped in and took her place.

by Anonymousreply 13402/17/2019

Wee just wanted t'be WUVVED! Wike us all....

by Anonymousreply 13502/17/2019

So who was more of the jet setter, Lee or Jackie? They both seem to be the jetset type. But it seems maybe Lee got around a bit more.

by Anonymousreply 13602/17/2019

Her only claim to fame was her sister.

Which of course she milked for all it was worth - -

by Anonymousreply 13702/17/2019

If by "jet setting," you mean "who spread her legs on more continents for more wealthy men," yes, that would be Lee, R136.

by Anonymousreply 13802/17/2019

“I never disliked Jackie, but I hate Lee. I hate her.”

by Anonymousreply 13902/17/2019

Every now and then I still search for a video of her TV movie version of Laura. It's the Holy Grail of shit acting.

by Anonymousreply 14002/17/2019

I'm sorry, but I don't even know who this old woman was.

Sounds like she was before my time.

by Anonymousreply 14102/17/2019
r140 Every now and then I still search for a video of her TV movie version of Laura. It's the Holy Grail of shit acting.

by Anonymousreply 14202/17/2019

Useless cunt. Anyone who mourns her loss should be waterboarded.

by Anonymousreply 14302/17/2019

You say that like it's a bad thing, R138.

by Anonymousreply 14402/17/2019

R143 And yet here you are. We'll make sure your the first in line.

by Anonymousreply 14502/17/2019

Ha ha, R145.

by Anonymousreply 14602/17/2019

America's Last Princess, Princess Carole DiFalco Radziwill (living with Lee's dumpster-rescued sofa) -

by Anonymousreply 14702/17/2019

^^ is that a man?

by Anonymousreply 14802/17/2019

She used up all her Le Bouvier money to buy the rights and all existing copies of Laura. She spent her last days trolling YouTube to make sure it was never posted.

by Anonymousreply 14902/17/2019

I still love Carole. She and Bethany should really make up..TV got in their way.

by Anonymousreply 15002/17/2019
r149 She used up all her Le Bouvier money to buy the rights and all existing copies of Laura. She spent her last days trolling YouTube to make sure it was never posted.

What a self absorbed twat.

(Radziwill, not r149)

by Anonymousreply 15102/17/2019

Ummmm

by Anonymousreply 15202/17/2019

Yes I would love to see a copy of Laura! I heard the Paley Center in LA has a copy...

by Anonymousreply 15302/17/2019

I wanna kick this human bodybag right in the cuntbone.

Looks like her decorating tips were, "Scatter fresh flowers in profusion, along with little framed magazine covers of yourself."

by Anonymousreply 15402/17/2019

It's OK to write about women without calling them cunts and twats, R154.

by Anonymousreply 15502/17/2019

I remember the Princess decorated a condo across from my parents in Century City. As a gayling, I made my parents take me to the opening. Everyone was laughing at the impracticality. She had orange trees in the living room.

by Anonymousreply 15602/17/2019

I look really beautiful, there, R147.

Still so young, but I'm growing into my innate sophistication.

by Anonymousreply 15702/17/2019
Mrs. Radziwill in her dining room in March 1976, the same year she started her own interior design firm.

Here's another view of her dining room. Even accounting for the times (1976), I don't think it holds up well at all.

by Anonymousreply 15802/17/2019

Forgot to say that the photo and quote are from the NYT obituary.

by Anonymousreply 15902/17/2019
After Mrs. Onassis died in 1994, her will made no material provision for her sister, “for whom I have great affection,” Mrs. Onassis wrote, “because I have already done so in my lifetime.” It left bequests to each of her sister’s children. The disinheritance of Mrs. Radziwill was widely interpreted as another sign of strain between the sisters, whose relationship had captivated the press and public throughout their lives.

That's from the NYT obit.

by Anonymousreply 16002/17/2019

R158 That room is a frau's vision of heaven come to life.

by Anonymousreply 16102/17/2019

"For reasons that are well known to her...."

by Anonymousreply 16202/17/2019

I think that's the apartment she bought after running into financial trouble moving and selling off some great pieces of furniture. This was an attempt to create a garden in the city if I remember, she even added flower boxes to the windows.

by Anonymousreply 16302/17/2019

I’m 90% sure that’s not actually her dining room R158. I agree that it’s tacky and doesn’t hold up well. I saw that caption in the NYT and I think they got it wrong. I think that is one of the rooms she decorated for that chain of hotels she designed for.

I’ve shared the link earlier, but here’s a really good blog post that shows the interiors of some of her different homes.

by Anonymousreply 16402/17/2019

It's inexcusible that Jackie left her sister nothing in her will, when she was worth soooooooooo much.

Would it really have hurt so much to be even nominally gracious?

I guess being a total cunt was important to her.

by Anonymousreply 16502/17/2019

R158 appears to be a show house.

by Anonymousreply 16602/17/2019

The Persian room on that blog is nice. However, it must have STANK to high heaven of cigarettes. I guess that was part of the atmosphere of the time, and that look.

by Anonymousreply 16702/17/2019

Lee's milkshake brought all the boys to the yard and their like.....

by Anonymousreply 16802/17/2019
r162 "For reasons that are well known to her...."

by Anonymousreply 16902/17/2019

Evidently the Turkish decor was fabulous for the time, but it was not decorated by the Princess.

by Anonymousreply 17002/17/2019

I wonder if lee and patricia altschul knew each other. They both basically play the same game. Marrying well and divorcing well.

When you look at patricia, and that grand mansion she lives in on southern charm. I can't help but think, she must've walked away with a shit tone of $$$ when her third husband died. And than he was a billionaire.

by Anonymousreply 17102/17/2019

I thought Mrs. Radziwill was a very talented interior designer. I loved many of the projects I’ve seen of hers.

That is her dining room in her NYC apartment. I love it and think it stands up quite well. It’s not for everybody but it is for Lee and Jackie’s type of circle.

Another room by Lee Radziwill:

There's nothing WRONG with it, but there's also nothing truly original or even very memorable about it, either.

Rather like the woman herself. Pretty ... and NEXT!

by Anonymousreply 17302/17/2019

The photo of Lee's apartment @ R173: It's cosmetically appealing, though useless. Just as Lee was.

by Anonymousreply 17402/17/2019

"Oh look, I picked out a bold chintz that cost $600 a yard..."

by Anonymousreply 17502/17/2019

Scary, scary Lee....

by Anonymousreply 17602/17/2019

It's sweet that Lee has now reunited with her dear mother Janet and Jackie. Heaven is a more elegant place--a little bit of Camelot beyond the Pearly Gates.

by Anonymousreply 17702/17/2019

"Sometimes I just put a big bunch of flowers in a pretty pot, and congratulate myself on my genius. Then I toss a hat on the table, to be artful."

by Anonymousreply 17802/17/2019

Jackie wouldn't have been caught dead in that tacky dining room of Lee's. Hideous then and now.

by Anonymousreply 17902/17/2019

It's like her head is six times to big for her body.

by Anonymousreply 18002/17/2019

One of Lee’s Dining rooms.

Her dining room on the cover of Architectural Digest in 1982.

by Anonymousreply 18202/17/2019

^^ LOVE the tastefully exposed Levolor blinds!

by Anonymousreply 18302/17/2019

I wonder if Anthony's will left everything to his wife, Carole, as spouses typically do, or if he left anything to his mother?

by Anonymousreply 18402/17/2019

The centerpiece Epergne in R181 is beautiful and chic. I guess she once had money for classy things.

by Anonymousreply 18502/17/2019

R182 those are not Levelor blinds they are wooden shutters that many UES homes still have today.

by Anonymousreply 18602/17/2019

I actually like all her rooms. I might not want them in my house but they're all very nice.

by Anonymousreply 18702/17/2019

Lee has a 72 year old gay half brother, Jamie Auchincloss, who was arrested on child pornography charges in 2011.

by Anonymousreply 18802/17/2019

All I want to know is if she ever got to ride Nureyev's huge cock.

by Anonymousreply 18902/17/2019
by Anonymousreply 19002/17/2019

I've never understood why anyone gave a shit about this horrible woman.

She was about as admirable as Leona Helmsley.

And just as attractive.

by Anonymousreply 19102/17/2019

That hotel chain must have been one of her few decorating clients. Even when Architectural Digest listed her as one of their top 20 decorators ("Decorating for Celebrities", 1980), half of the pics were of her hotel rooms. She was part of an elite group which included Micheal Taylor, Angelo Donghia, Sister Parish, Sally Sirkin Lewis and Mario Buatta. I am not sure that I agree, but many of her rooms were just fine in my book; I have seen far worse. The dining room that R158 shared is particularly bad, but not really indicative of her usual "style". She seemed to prefer simple rugs, parson-style furniture and large, graphic art (a few of these things were somewhat contemporary for the day I think). As for her own homes, that same set of botanical prints seemed to follow her everywhere!

by Anonymousreply 19202/17/2019

It may well have been the whole source of their break --
It's sweet that Lee has now reunited with her dear mother Janet and Jackie.

I think it is well established that the Bouvier sisters had little use for each other and absolutely no use for their miserable mother.

by Anonymousreply 19702/17/2019

I like those society dames. Lee Radziwill had a good life, but also some tragedy such as the untimely young death of her son. She called JFK "Jack." They were close. She had a fine relationship with her sister even if there were some challenges along the way as there are with most sisters. They vacationed together with their kids in the 70s. Lee married Polish nobility. While the title may not have meant much, her husband was not going to give up his title because in his European circles, those titles mean something. So by default, Lee became a princess. We can put it down, but if her husband has a title, she gets one too through marriage. She went back to using the name Radziwill, but not her title, because that was kids last name. Many women keep the name that their children have. Lee Radziwill be was elegant, classy and chic. She was also surprisingly down to earth. They don't make them her anymore. Now we have no-name celebrities and useless reality television personalities. I happen to like people like Lee Radziwill, Babe Paley, CZ Guest, etc. They add a bit of glamour, class and pizzazz that is missing nowadays. They're interesting and led interesting and fascinating lives.

by Anonymousreply 19802/17/2019

Bravo R198

by Anonymousreply 19902/17/2019

Lee was a vile, hated cunt who never accomplished a thing in her life. Hell even her son was defective.

by Anonymousreply 20002/17/2019

If you read about Lee's behavior at the Steel Magnolia premiere, yes pure class.

by Anonymousreply 20102/17/2019
by Anonymousreply 20202/17/2019

And yet, R200, you can't stop posting about her.

by Anonymousreply 20302/17/2019

I bet they got along just fine. They spent a lot of time together as adults when they could have easily gone their separate ways.

by Anonymousreply 20402/17/2019

Almost every state visit Jackie went on, whether Jack was with her or not, she wanted Lee with her. Bitch knew how to ride a camel like a lady.

by Anonymousreply 20502/17/2019

Her son was not "defective."

by Anonymousreply 20602/17/2019
Her son was not "defective."

Agree. It sounds like something trump would say about a person with cancer.

by Anonymousreply 20702/17/2019

by Anonymousreply 20802/17/2019

RIP Princess, you had a dramatic, tragic and interesting life

by Anonymousreply 20902/17/2019

Leona Helmsley, a kind and generous person who worked for her money fair and square, was persecuted and vilified because she locked horns with the satanist usurers who own the criminal NY Federal Reserve Bank and their private collective agency the criminal IRS/ Hopefully her main persecutor, the psycopath Morgantheau, will soon be burning in Hell.

by Anonymousreply 21002/18/2019

OMG!! First I heard this!! WWCD? (C=Carole) Pay back Bethenny!! finally!

by Anonymousreply 21102/18/2019

She had large feet like Jackie.

by Anonymousreply 21202/18/2019

She bumped me in line to buy cigarettes at a convenience store in Sag Harbor once. She had honey-colored eyes. Short and preternaturally thin. I was quite full of myself afterwards, having been "bumped" by a princesse.

My other Kennedy "connection" is that I worked with JFK Jr. when he interned at the Justice Department one summer. Of course, I noticed what he ate at the cafeteria--pineapple chunks, that's it. He had very big feet and the smallest waist I've ever noticed in a man.

by Anonymousreply 21302/18/2019

Lee looks like nancy Reagan in the pic at r202

by Anonymousreply 21402/18/2019

I wonder if Lee could give the blow jobs as well as Nancy? A US President outranks a Polish Prince.

by Anonymousreply 21502/18/2019
r205 Almost every state visit Jackie went on, whether Jack was with her or not, she wanted Lee with her.

I imagine it was because as First Lady, JK wanted someone as a companion overseas who was of her class, and wouldn't blab.

It's not like Jackie craved time alone with her sister, it's that the arrangement was convenient ... and put her sister both in her place, and in her debt.

by Anonymousreply 21602/18/2019

I imagine it must have been hard as hell for someone with a personality like Lee had to play second fiddle to Jackie. She played the first sister role while Jack was in office anyway. So there was that. At least Lee's French was much better than Jackie's though. She'll always have that.

by Anonymousreply 21702/18/2019

So R68, no passion. Not even pretty. Always felt from that world that she despised herself. No sheer genius, no striking features. Feel her bitter envious soul can finally rest. They'd better sage the place blind, just in case..

by Anonymousreply 22002/18/2019

by Anonymousreply 22102/18/2019

r217 shows JK in the suit she was later wearing when the assassination happened.

It's often credited as Chanel, but it was technically by a company that was licensed to reproduce Chanel garments in the U.S.
According to Justine Picardie's authorized biography of Coco Chanel, Chanel, Her Life, Jackie Kennedy was a Chanel client starting in the 1950s. But after she was slammed in the press for a reported $30,000 Paris spending spree during her husband's Presidential campaign, Mrs. Kennedy couldn't afford to buy Chanel from Chanel and risk more bad press, especially not as First Lady. Too foreign, too spendy. (After the story broke, first in WWD and then picked up by the AP, that the future first lady went on a wild spending spree, Pat Nixon told the Times, "I buy my clothes off the rack and I look for bargains like all other American women.") So, to avoid another gaffe, Picardie says that Mrs. Kennedy "was able to acquire Chanel outfits sewn for her in New York by a dressmaking establishment called Chez Ninon. The garments were not fake or pirated, but made to order using materials supplied by Chanel in Paris."
"Thus it was," Picardie concludes, "that she came to be wearing a vivid pink Chanel suit (complete with fabric, trim and buttons from 31 Rue Cambon, but fitted at Chez Ninon) on 22nd November 1963, accompanying her husband to Dallas."

by Anonymousreply 22502/18/2019

Lee and Jackie's mom Janet must have had [italic]some[/italic] magical snatch.

How did she bag a series of rich men when she wasn't even particularly attractive?

by Anonymousreply 22602/18/2019

R117, touch of dwarfism?

by Anonymousreply 22702/18/2019

Notice how much smaller, slimmer, and more feminine I am than OLDER sis, Jackie, in all of these photos!

I will ALWAYS be the young and pretty one. At least to heterosexual men.

(Of course, the homos are talking about me again, at least. Only thing they're useful for.)

by Anonymousreply 22802/18/2019

Her first interior, within her Fifth Avenue penthouse in 1964, was her best. But using black, white and red is a pretty fail-safe recipe.

Looking at all her rooms over the years, it seems to me she was particularly attracted to run-of-the-mill tables.

by Anonymousreply 22902/18/2019

The one that would not be taken for a ride:

Lee was poised to marry hotelier NEWTON COPE in 1979, but he passed when the little lady's lawyers insisted on a pre-nup that gave her $15,000 a month right out of the gate.

He said, “I am not buying a cow or a celebrity the way Onassis did!"

by Anonymousreply 23002/18/2019

Daughter Tina looks a bit.... trans. To me.

I'm sure she's lovely on the inside.

by Anonymousreply 23102/18/2019

Here's poor (late) Anthony, mildly embarrassed to be escorting Disco Mom, Lee.

by Anonymousreply 23202/18/2019

It must have killed her that Jackie's son looked like this

by Anonymousreply 23302/18/2019

Was Anthony able to attend JFK Jr's funeral, or was he too sick?

by Anonymousreply 23402/18/2019

Anthony wasn't hideous, just incredibly average.

But yes, looks like both her kids got more "Radziwill" than "Bouvier" in the looks department.

by Anonymousreply 23502/18/2019

R229 The Mark Shaw photo you posted of Lee in the red gown was taken at her London home in 1962. She didn't move back to NYC (and into the Fifth Avenue apartment) until the early 70s after her marriage to Stas ended. And yes, there was a lot of red in the 5th Avenue penthouse, too.

by Anonymousreply 23602/18/2019

Tina again.

Poor thing. Imagine having weight issues and a mother like Lee....

by Anonymousreply 23702/18/2019

Of course, Anthony would go on to marry a beauty to rival his mother....

by Anonymousreply 23802/18/2019

Lee probably never ate a complete meal in her life. She fainted from hunger numerous times, just like Nancy.

by Anonymousreply 23902/18/2019

"Tina?"

"We've talked before about staying away from satin and other shiny fabrics."

"I don't know what to do with you anymore. Honestly."

by Anonymousreply 24002/18/2019

Here's Lee, hellbent for leather, with giant stuffed plaything/homo-curiosity, Andre Leon Tally.

Where could they possibly be going, dressed like that?

by Anonymousreply 24102/18/2019

Emaciated Lee and her "boyfriend," Rudolph Nureyev.

by Anonymousreply 24202/18/2019

Holy crap look at her painfully bony birdcage chest in R233. R235 Anthony was average-looking. but light years more attractive than his hagsville, buck-tooth, fame-whore wife. For a self-proclaimed "intellectual" she certainly never tires of posting close up pictures of herself in bikinis on social media. Ah well, at least all the pictures of her ass are better than looking at her ugly face!

by Anonymousreply 24302/18/2019

Lee should have followed Carole's lead and been a Real Housewife.

by Anonymousreply 24402/18/2019

He was very sick, but he loved his cousin and he attended the burial at sea of the coast of Martha's Vineyard on July 22nd 1999 and the memorial service at St. Thomas Moore in New York the next day. Anthony died on August 10th. R243

by Anonymousreply 24602/18/2019

Thanks r245

by Anonymousreply 24702/18/2019

I think he was in a wheelchair on the boat. It was really sad.

by Anonymousreply 24802/18/2019

I met her a few times- and I got to know Mrs O a bit. My Mom knew Mrs O and liked her a lot. My impression of Lee was that she was not as bright as Mrs O (who was smart and very very nice- funny actually.) I think Lee had some prescription drug problems at different times in her life and she was most definitely not a pal of the Nan/Pat/Annette crowd in NYC high profile socialite world. I really got the impression they did not like her- She was not very nice. She was one of the few "famous" types absolutely forbidden by staff at Andre Oliver (who did tell me Lee had some substance abuse issues) to open a house account. Mrs O had one- paid on time every month. Lee was like the Kennedy sisters- kind of entitled and never paid a bill. I also have never forgotten her "just a couple of fags" comment about Capote and Vidal. Very very few women of her background would ever say anything like that.

by Anonymousreply 24902/18/2019

You'd be surprised how many bills of the Kennedy sisters Jackie paid. Including a new roof on Ethel's house. Without telling her for years. Ethel thinking the Rose money had come through.

by Anonymousreply 25002/18/2019

R231. I found this photo of Anna Christina "Tina" Radziwill. Lee's daughter. However your photo of Tina looks nothing like mine. Which one is really Tina?

by Anonymousreply 25102/18/2019

Your picture is not of Tina Radziwill, Lee's daughter. R251

by Anonymousreply 25202/18/2019

R252. Okay, I'll go with what you found. But I did find my photo on Pinterest, and it was labeled "Anna Christina Radziwill."

Anyway, I was wondering if Tina and Caroline Kennedy were still friendly. Jackie and Lee's kids were very friendly as kids, and they used to go on vacation together. John and Anthony remained best friends into adulthood. I was wondering if that were the same for Caroline and Tina.

by Anonymousreply 25302/18/2019

R251 I'm didn't post the pictures of Tina above your post. But that's her. I know the family. Pinterest does get it wrong sometimes.

by Anonymousreply 25402/18/2019

by Anonymousreply 25502/18/2019

I just found Carole's storefront on Poshmark. The girl does love her some leather.

No takers on the bodysuit with crotch snap?

by Anonymousreply 25602/18/2019

The unfortunate photo of Tina appears to have been taken when she was a gawky adolescent.

by Anonymousreply 25702/18/2019

I’m assuming there will be no official cause of death, which strongly causes me to believe she died in an “unsavory” manner, I.e. falling off a toilet and striking her head, as someone upthread or in the other thread theorized.

This also explains why there wasn’t any official news about her death until the next day. They probably had to come up with a game plan, get the body presentable, and clean up any mess caused by the accident.

by Anonymousreply 25802/18/2019

This is what Lee wore to her son's funeral?

by Anonymousreply 25902/18/2019

R259, he did die in August, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the women in lightweight black dresses.

by Anonymousreply 26002/18/2019

R258, Maybe she did the morphine drip thing, like Jackie.

by Anonymousreply 26102/18/2019

Say what you will about Lee, but she got to have Peter Beard in his prime fuck her endlessly.

by Anonymousreply 26202/18/2019

Was Peter poor?

by Anonymousreply 26302/18/2019

Yikes.

What a mess the two of them were.

by Anonymousreply 26402/18/2019

R259, I agree.

That shabby, dowdy dress is a disgrace. Did not she own anything else black and suitable.?

This says, "I didn't care for my dead son," quite clearly.

by Anonymousreply 26502/18/2019

R265, It's probably vintage Chanel.

by Anonymousreply 26602/18/2019

Lee Radziwill and daughter, Anna Christina, 2010

by Anonymousreply 26702/18/2019

That's not Lee's daughter. R267

by Anonymousreply 26802/18/2019

Can someone PLEASE post a definitive photo of the daughter with evidence, so we can stop wondering what she actually looks like?

by Anonymousreply 26902/18/2019

r249, Thanks. That was tasty.

I'm guessing she's ashes already and their will be no service.

by Anonymousreply 27002/18/2019

R266, vintage from her pre-WW2 period? Lee looks like my cleaning woman.

by Anonymousreply 27102/18/2019

R240 R237 R231 have posted pictures of Tina Radziwill. ( R251 and R267 did not.)

by Anonymousreply 27202/18/2019

Tina? When did I do tina?

by Anonymousreply 27302/18/2019

CBK and Lee.

by Anonymousreply 27402/18/2019

R271, Here she is attending JFK, Jr.'s memorial service, just weeks prior to her son's funeral.

by Anonymousreply 27502/18/2019

R265, Here's the dress from a different angle. It was probably sweltering that day. I think she looks fine.

by Anonymousreply 27602/18/2019

That outfit looks like Armani. The first one was her maid's housecoat.

by Anonymousreply 27702/18/2019

Has anyone mentioned that dishy Peter Beard dicked her?

by Anonymousreply 27802/18/2019

Yes, multiple times.

by Anonymousreply 27902/18/2019

Because apparently it needs to be said.

Also Nureyev had AIDS. Make sure we mention that several times.

Drop in a mention that Jackie O was rumored to have AIDS.

And don't forget, Janet was C.U.N.T. Jackie managed not to be a cunty woman. Lee, sorry, was a pretentious cunt.

by Anonymousreply 28002/18/2019

Lee would do anal. Jackie didn't.

by Anonymousreply 28102/18/2019

NYC DLERs, want to attend the wake?

I'll be there, wearing black.

by Anonymousreply 28202/18/2019

I'll be smoking in her honor.

by Anonymousreply 28302/18/2019

I'll be there in a dowdy black housedress, condescending towards Carole Radziwill and making fat jokes about Tina.

by Anonymousreply 28402/18/2019

Is this supposed to be funny? Can someone explain? I mean, who spends hours contributing to a thread and comes up with this? An eight year old, perhaps.

by Anonymousreply 29002/18/2019

R285, it takes less time to make quick posts (hardly hours, barely minutes) than searching and compiling a list. You gave way too much time on your hands, hunty. And Lee is still dead.

by Anonymousreply 29102/18/2019

R291, what is the idea behind posting comments that debase the conversation? It's not like everything you posted here is gross, most of your comments are, you know, normal.

by Anonymousreply 29402/18/2019

by Anonymousreply 29502/18/2019

All things considered, Lee did Radziwill.

by Anonymousreply 29602/18/2019

R296, I see what you did there.

by Anonymousreply 29702/19/2019

Lee and Me: Carole Radziwill pens loving essay about her friendship with mother-in-law Lee Radziwill and shares intimate family photos as she mourns Jackie Kennedy's sister's death at 85

by Anonymousreply 29802/19/2019

Jackie O could have 'set sister Lee Radziwill up for life' but instead 'cut her out of her will after years of fighting over men and their mother's affections'

by Anonymousreply 29902/19/2019

Carole Radziwill's article is dull and inelegant.

By the way Lee was never a princess because Radziwill was not a prince when they married. I always considered her pretense to essentially define her.

by Anonymousreply 30002/19/2019

Carole has a vintage sofa in her apartment that once belonged to Lee.

by Anonymousreply 30102/19/2019

I don't understand why Jackie was supposed to leave Lee money.

Their mother who was the widow of a Standard Oil heir died only a few years before Jackie.

At that point Jackie and Lee should have inherited a sizable amount of money.

by Anonymousreply 30202/19/2019

Wasn't the Prince rumored to like the dick?

by Anonymousreply 30302/19/2019

R302, Lee always lived beyond her means. She would sell paintings, furniture and even clothing when she was in financial need. The prince died in serious debt, leaving nothing behind for his two children with Lee.

by Anonymousreply 30402/19/2019

He was a commoner, former prince. He didn't even style himself a prince. She re-branded him with a title he gave up. Technicality but not an unimportant one.

by Anonymousreply 30502/19/2019

But it was an impressive title. Among the gotha. Major history and MAJOR digs across Central Europe. The fact this guy died without money and apparently had comparably little wealth and valuable possessions when he was young and they married, is sad story.

by Anonymousreply 30602/19/2019

What a fascinating life Lee lived. Jackie too. And their mother Janet as well.

I'd love to see a really well done documentary on the three women. Kinda like what CNN did with the Kennedy's.

by Anonymousreply 30702/19/2019

I think only the over 50 or over 60 crowd has any reference at all to be fascinated by Early to Mid-Century American social climbing. Jackie Bouvier was born in 1929.

by Anonymousreply 30802/19/2019

1929 also produced Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Barbara Walters and Anne Frank.

by Anonymousreply 30902/19/2019

There is a good documentary on Netflix.

We can thank Lee for one thing, the Beales. She flaked out as usual, but thankfully the film makers continued with the project.

by Anonymousreply 31002/19/2019

Well, R310? The title?

by Anonymousreply 31102/19/2019

The Auchincloss's have big dick genes.

by Anonymousreply 31202/19/2019

What part of POINTLESS BITCHERY did lumpen frau R285 not get?

by Anonymousreply 31302/19/2019

It's hard to believe that May will be 25 years since Jackie died.

by Anonymousreply 31402/19/2019

R311, Jackie- A Tale of Two Sisters. Unless you mean Grey Gardens, in which case turn in your gay card stat.

R314 Time flies. But her grandchildren are the same age as me.

by Anonymousreply 31702/20/2019

When is Lee's funeral?

by Anonymousreply 31802/20/2019

Funeral on Monday

by Anonymousreply 31902/20/2019

I'll bet the daughter goes the Jackie route and has an auction of Lee's stuff. Between Eurotrash and the Kardashians, they will be fighting over her crap.

by Anonymousreply 32002/20/2019

R319, Will half-brother Jamie Auchincloss be there or is he still doing prison time for child porn?

by Anonymousreply 32102/20/2019

Caroline Lee Bouvier Radziwill

RIP

by Anonymousreply 32202/20/2019

Caroline Lee Bouvier Canfield Radziwill Ross

by Anonymousreply 32302/20/2019

I always thought she would have been upset by Carole Radziwill (daughter-in-law) taking part in the "Real Housewives." I checked Carole's Twitter and was surprised to see her posting stuff about what she has for sale on Poshmark (shoes, etc.).

by Anonymousreply 32402/20/2019

Well Carole learned from the best. Lee (and Jackie) sold clothes most of their lives.

by Anonymousreply 32502/20/2019

R313 lumpen frau! Using it 🐻

by Anonymousreply 32602/20/2019

R323 well, Karen Something Something Something Walker to you!

by Anonymousreply 32702/20/2019

R323. It's...Caroline Lee Bouvier Canfield Radziwill Ross Radziwill.

She went back to using Radziwill as her last name, the same last name as her children. She also couldn't stand being married to Herbert Ross.

by Anonymousreply 32802/20/2019

Astonished to see some of the items on Poshmark, sold, that I had flipped in a bundle last Spring. The DL just brings it! I clean up and add to these finds. Repair a beaded bag making it better. Add fur trim to cuffs, boots & shoes. Have my own lines as well.

Sitting here procrastinating. Filling orders to be shipped in about 6 hours. Seeing my work hasn't motivated me. Damp. Cold. Alone. Ugh.

by Anonymousreply 32902/20/2019

Jackie flipped off the rack vêtements and costume bijoux to consignment shops. She would have been a Posher. No doubt.

by Anonymousreply 33002/20/2019

R307 where there's a Radziwill there's a way.

by Anonymousreply 33102/21/2019

Herb: How ya doing, Lee?

Lee: Radziwill, Ross, Radziwill.

by Anonymousreply 33202/21/2019

R329, Any links to your work & designs?

by Anonymousreply 33302/21/2019

R328, Her niece has reverted back to Caroline Kennedy, dropping Schlossberg.

by Anonymousreply 33402/21/2019

R334, I never did understand that unusual marriage.

by Anonymousreply 33502/21/2019

R334, she never used the Schlossberg surname.

by Anonymousreply 33602/21/2019

Carolines family is famous and iconic. Of course she's sticking with "Kennedy."

It's just like the "Kardashians" they've turned it into a bankable celebrity brand name in pop culture.

You always stick with the $$$ if you have any scence.

by Anonymousreply 33702/21/2019

R328, she liked Herb Ross enough to marry him. Once she had sold everything he had and milked him for every cent, it was time for her to move on.

by Anonymousreply 33802/21/2019

R334, Bullshit. She used Schlossberg for years, even on her personal stationery. She only stopped using it fairly recently.

by Anonymousreply 33902/21/2019

Well since Caroline Kennedy was brought up......Her brief sort of campaign for senate was hysterical. She went on a listening tour upstate. There was footage of her actually running away from people because she was so nervous. She was wearing one of the frau bed quilt coats as it was the middle of winter. It wasn't long after that "listening" tour that she withdrew. It was too bad in the long run. She would have been better than the shrew who got the job.

by Anonymousreply 34002/21/2019

R339, bull crap, she may have used it personally but she’s been Caroline Kennedy publicly. And what does that button prove btw? It’s not an official button, just something someone made that they though would make a buck. If you go to the site, you’ll see a “Caroline Kennedy for Senate” t-shirt for sale (no Schlossberg).

by Anonymousreply 34102/21/2019

It's for me. Do you mind darling?

by Anonymousreply 34202/21/2019

Lee seemed to have tried many things in her life. Did she ever try her hand at politics?

by Anonymousreply 34302/21/2019

No. Too lazy.

by Anonymousreply 34402/21/2019

R342 quite a beaver on that gal!

by Anonymousreply 34502/21/2019
[R334], I never did understand that unusual marriage.

As soon as they got Congress to pardon Leo Frank, Harvey Weinstein started ejaculating on actresses and they started staking out Presidential daughters.

by Anonymousreply 34602/21/2019

I'm guessing Lee's funeral won't be televised?

by Anonymousreply 34702/21/2019

No, Rose, it will be on Pay Per View.

by Anonymousreply 34802/21/2019

Why would they televise her funeral? She never accomplished a thing.

by Anonymousreply 34902/21/2019

R341, you're wrong. She went by Schlossberg for many years.

You. Are. Wrong. Wrong Wrong Wrong.

by Anonymousreply 35002/21/2019

I'm trolling.

by Anonymousreply 35102/21/2019

For anyone fortunate enough to attend Lee's funeral Mass on Monday, this would be proper mourning attire.

by Anonymousreply 35202/21/2019

R350, YOU are wrong. She has always referred to herself as Caroline Kennedy. Many media outlets chose to call her Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg but she always referred to herself as Caroline Kennedy.

by Anonymousreply 35302/21/2019

Never on here R333! You've gotta be aware of our obsessive systemic trolls who stalk posters here who intimidate and anger them. Chasing posters around from thread to thread, site to site across the internet. They rarely leave their homes or tend to life norms. What do you think they're doing morning, noon and night? They (sub) exist.

by Anonymousreply 35402/21/2019

Is this the worst thing worn by a woman? Ever? Anywhere?

by Anonymousreply 35502/21/2019

lol, r355. And that's just what I did when I saw that. No knock on the designer Rei ( her last name escapes me), but still, wearable art shouldn't be worn.

by Anonymousreply 35602/21/2019

It's real? I thought it was a funny photoshop?

by Anonymousreply 35702/21/2019

Rei Kawakubo? That must have been the 80s.

by Anonymousreply 35802/21/2019

That's the name, r358.

r357. "E" Channel had a Met Gala Red Carpet show. She actually wore that. I was flabbergasted. CK was Ambassador to Japan, so, I guess she got away with it.

by Anonymousreply 35902/21/2019

A certain woman could wear that dress R355 . But it’s not her. Someone with natural elegance - and better posture in it.

by Anonymousreply 36002/21/2019

R360 agree. She brings attention to her lack of assets. Donning such a frock is entering into a competition with said garment. Dress wins here.

by Anonymousreply 36102/21/2019
"Tina? We've talked before about staying away from satin and other shiny fabrics. I don't know what to do with you anymore. Honestly."

Oh Lee honey, a fat ungrateful daughter...come sit right here by me...we have so much to talk about...

by Anonymousreply 36202/21/2019

R360, No matter what Caroline wears, she still walks like an injured football player.

by Anonymousreply 36302/21/2019

362, 363 😂

by Anonymousreply 36402/21/2019

Paltrow Protoype!😂

by Anonymousreply 36502/22/2019

1) Capote was right when he said Jackie and Lee were modern day geishas.

2) Many rich/famous women sell their old clothes. Or, "consign" to use a prettier word.

3) Lee was a Grade A cunt but I'm giving her complete slack for what she wore to her son's funeral...it was August and she was coping with the loss of her son (who had been dying for quite some time) as well as the sudden tragic death of her nephew a few weeks earlier. If you're grieving who gives a fuck what other people think about what you're wearing. Also, that "black housecoat" probably was a $2k black housecoat.

by Anonymousreply 36602/23/2019

R366, Amen.

by Anonymousreply 36702/23/2019

Exactly, r66, were she dressed and made up impecably people would be saying she didnt care for him. And it was a private funeral, people shouldnt be even taking photos.

by Anonymousreply 36802/23/2019

Marella Agnelli just died. That makes the third.

by Anonymousreply 36902/23/2019

Style icon Lee Radziwill is remembered at invite-only funeral in NYC where 250 friends and family of Jackie O's sister, including Caroline Kennedy, designer Marc Jacobs and Carole Radziwill mourn her loss

by Anonymousreply 37002/25/2019

Odd -- no photos of the daughter.

Has she made some sort of deal with the press?

by Anonymousreply 37102/25/2019

My God. Catch ALT at the service: beret, fur lined coat, culottes with monogrammed Uggs.

by Anonymousreply 37202/25/2019

R372, How did he ever score an invitation?

by Anonymousreply 37302/25/2019

by Anonymousreply 37702/26/2019

R369 I didn't know she died. It must've been recently.

by Anonymousreply 37802/26/2019

Well, the worms will be done by the weekend.

by Anonymousreply 37902/26/2019

Why is Lee's daughter, Tina, rarely mentioned?

by Anonymousreply 38002/26/2019

R380, because she doesn’t lead a life like the Kardashians? Or her sister-in-law Carole? She was at the funeral, there are videos of her walking in the church.

by Anonymousreply 38102/26/2019

If wicker is good enough for the Duchess of Devonshire and Princess Radziwill, it’s good enough for me.

by Anonymousreply 38202/26/2019

How were she and Jackie able to pull the wool over peoples eyes to make everyone think that they were beautiful and desirable when they weren’t? The odd bone structure and short faces...man sized heads, hands and feet...nasty bodies...what whyhow?

by Anonymousreply 38302/26/2019

And those teeth...although, Lee had nicer teeth than Jackie did.

by Anonymousreply 38402/26/2019

The BITCH has been dead to me since she abandoned Balmain in the mid 60s. Who the fuck did she think she was??

She did a little bit of a reprieve with the wicker.

by Anonymousreply 38502/26/2019

Some women like Jackie just have "it", even if they aren't classic beauties.

by Anonymousreply 38602/26/2019

When I saw a news report about the funeral, I thought it said wicker basket and thought, "Well, that would be a nice place to store your ashes instead of some ugly urn."

by Anonymousreply 38702/26/2019

If you met LR and JO (pun intended) you would right away see the difference. One practically glowed with charm and kindness, the other very much the opposite although I suppose she could turn it on if she wanted to. One was kiss up, kick down, the other treated everyone well and looked them right in the eye when she spoke to them. I leave it to you to decide which was which. Mrs O was a lovely woman, funny, smart, witty, kind, and without pretense if you can believe it. Her sister had none of this on a casual meeting- perhaps as I said, she could 'bring it" when necessary (kiss up). I think the apt comparison is Queen E and her sister Margaret. One had life thrust on her and accepted it with grace (and was no dummy) and the other used the associated fame somewhat selfishly, often complaining and taking advantage of the fame and position.

by Anonymousreply 38802/26/2019

Imagine this face looking right at you. Yikes!

by Anonymousreply 38902/26/2019

Has her will been filed yet?

by Anonymousreply 39002/26/2019

She was a great, great actress...

by Anonymousreply 39102/26/2019

"Vogue Reports"

Funny!

by Anonymousreply 39202/26/2019

Does the will automatically become public? I'm kinda ignorant on how these things work.

by Anonymousreply 39302/26/2019

Someone post a photo of her daughter at the funeral. I haven't found one.

by Anonymousreply 39402/26/2019

Any hauntings?

by Anonymousreply 39503/19/2019

R336😂 Not "attractive-in-the-face" type Geishas though. That in itself & that they floated it at any point in time- is the REAL enigma subconsciously attracting people.

by Anonymousreply 39603/19/2019

R370? Notice even in death this Paltrowesque barnacle rides off the coattails of others?

by Anonymousreply 39703/19/2019

R372, that shot at R372? by PageSix? Such spite work. But is okay. Understandable.

No talent scrub had it coming😚

by Anonymousreply 39803/19/2019

Didn't Carole Radziwill fuck musician Chris Botti? She looks like a man, then again, he usually fucks skinny Lollipop Head models.

by Anonymousreply 39903/19/2019

Please stop posting about the Princess...each new post opens the wound of her loss anew. Some of us are just too raw on this subject. It's not that we will never smile again, it's that we'll never be young again.

by Anonymousreply 40003/19/2019

Are we absolutely sure she's dead?

by Anonymousreply 40103/19/2019

I hope the mortician drove a stake through her heart to make sure. Or at 80 pounds, he might have used a bamboo skewer.

by Anonymousreply 40203/19/2019

by Anonymousreply 40603/20/2019

-- Lee Radziwill leaves her $50 million estate to her daughter - but niece Caroline Kennedy and her widowed RHONY daughter-in-law Carole Radziwill were left out of her will entirely

-Lee Bouvier Radziwill's Last Will and Testament shows that her lone surviving child, Anna Christina 'Tina' Radziwill, will inherit her estimated $50million estate

- The 16-page will, exclusively obtained by DailyMailTV, shows the socialite her widowed daughter-in-law Carole Radziwill won't receive a dime

- Neither will Lee's niece Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, the daughter of her older sister First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

- When Jackie passed in 1994, her will generously instructed that each of Lee's children were left $500,000

- Lee was known to be strapped for cash due to her extravagant lifestyle, but the will shows that a trust was set up for her decades ago by her mother

Sorry, link to Daily Fail.

by Anonymousreply 40703/28/2019

I wish ma would leave me $50 million.

by Anonymousreply 40803/28/2019

Thanks, R407, been waiting for that to surface.

by Anonymousreply 40903/28/2019

$50 million? Right. But she never had money.

by Anonymousreply 41003/28/2019

Tina's living the dream!

by Anonymousreply 41103/28/2019

Did Lee have total access to the trust established by Janet or were there restrictions?

by Anonymousreply 41203/28/2019

There must have been restrictions, because Lee spent money like water. Even Janet died relatively poor.

by Anonymousreply 41303/28/2019

Not even a lousy million to her spinster daughter-in-law Carole?

by Anonymousreply 41403/28/2019

So does this mean there will be a huge auction of her stuff?

by Anonymousreply 41503/28/2019

Yes, to even make $5 million. That daughter is ugly AF.

by Anonymousreply 41603/28/2019

Will her diaries be sold and published?

The "Princess" Diaries???

by Anonymousreply 41703/28/2019

Lee had no where near $50,000,000. The trust set up by her Mother was originally to benefit both of her daughters and Jackie signed over her share to Lee. The Paris apartment was leased and put up for sale by the owner. Her apartment at 160 East 72nd St was originally the ground floor of a triplex which was recently sold and most likely will be bought by the upstairs neighbor and rejoined.

by Anonymousreply 41803/28/2019

Exactly. Janet was living in the former servant's quarters at the time of her death.

Jackie was the only one with money.

by Anonymousreply 41903/28/2019
and her widowed RHONY daughter-in-law Carole Radziwill were left out of her will entirely...

Ouch!

by Anonymousreply 42003/28/2019

Woah, Lee had $50 mil. Jesus Christ.

by Anonymousreply 42103/28/2019

I find it humorous that The Daily Mail and the queens of Data Lounge think they know what Lee Radziwill was or wasn't worth! You've no way of knowing what an individual is worth no matter how famous they are or how many books you've read about them. If you remember correctly, Jackie's true worth was a lot less than her assumed worth, and on the other hand, I was surprised to learn how much Joan Rivers was actually worth. Why should Lee leave money to Carole or Caroline Kennedy? Kennedy hardly needs more money and Carole divulges family secrets to all and sundry on cheap television. Poor Tina, the ugly daughter of a celebrated beauty. Ugly girls of beautiful mothers suffer a lot, but she could have at least had her roots done for the funeral. I imagine mother and daughters' relationship was strained. I can see Lee picking at Tina for being overweight and frumpy. Does anyone else find the law regarding making wills public a gross intrusion of privacy? So Jackie signed her part of their mothers trust over to Lee, now we know what Jackie meant in her own will when she said she had already helped Lee. Why all the pallbearers? A wicket casket with Lee Radziwill in it would have weighed nothing.

by Anonymousreply 42203/28/2019

Please let this thread die a natural death.

Lee Radziwill was not an interesting person. She deserves no more attention.

by Anonymousreply 42303/28/2019

Was she good bitch or a bad bitch?

by Anonymousreply 42403/28/2019

I was THE BITCH thankyou

by Anonymousreply 42503/28/2019

R422, when someone continually downsizes and sells off valuable possessions at less than market value odds are probably good they need money.

by Anonymousreply 42603/28/2019

What is the New York estate tax rate?

The top New York estate tax rate is16%. The top rate only applies when the New York taxable estate is over $10,100,000 million. Dollars below that amount are subject to tax at graduated rates, starting at 3.06% for the first $500,000.

by Anonymousreply 42703/28/2019

r426 proof? Were you there? Did you buy her possessions from her? Have you seen the bill of sale? Or did you read it in a book?

by Anonymousreply 42803/28/2019

R428, unless you're in her will, why do you care?

by Anonymousreply 42903/28/2019

Tina Radziwill

by Anonymousreply 43003/29/2019

Well, this gives the lie to Carole Radziwill's stories of Lee's devotion to her. I'm sure Carole had expectations. And I'm sure Caroline didn't; she has plenty.

I'm sure Janet's trust wasn't remotely enough for Lee to live on--no amount would have been--and that's why she kept selling off possessions. The corpus of the trust is no doubt added to Lee's other realized assets and accounts for the $50 million figure.

by Anonymousreply 43103/29/2019

Would Lee have approved of a wicker casket?

by Anonymousreply 43203/29/2019

Sure. She was cremated. Even Lee wouldn't want $8 grand burning up in a crematorium.

by Anonymousreply 43303/29/2019

The daughter had to go cheap.

by Anonymousreply 43403/29/2019

so eaten up with jealaosy over her sister Jackie oh, that she had many diseases from the envy

even had a green tinge to her skin at death,

by Anonymousreply 43503/29/2019

Say what??

by Anonymousreply 43603/29/2019

That article just takes the $50 million figure from Celebrity New Worth. I've never seen a will that specifies funeral arrangements be paid as soon as possible. Maybe Princess was afraid the daughter would blow through $50 million before paying?

by Anonymousreply 43703/29/2019

I'm still sad that Lee is gone.

by Anonymousreply 43803/29/2019

Miss Tina's got some dollas to expend.

by Anonymousreply 43903/29/2019

R433, Where was it reported Lee was cremated?

by Anonymousreply 44003/29/2019

I don't recall. But I read it recently, possibly in one of the reports on her will, and I remember thinking that in that case the wicker casket made sense.

by Anonymousreply 44103/29/2019

Lee's son Anthony was cremated and the ashes were given to his widow Carole.

by Anonymousreply 44203/29/2019

That casket looks like it was bought at Pier One.

by Anonymousreply 44303/29/2019

reply 432 you can safely bet a perfectionist like Lee chose the wicker casket.

by Anonymousreply 44403/30/2019

always intrigues me what famous clothes horses like Lee wear in their caskets. I suppose only a few know the answer and it's vulgar to ask

by Anonymousreply 44503/30/2019

If Lee had been careful, she would have ended up rich. She sold a Francis Bacon for like $200,000 just before it's value soared into the millions. She also sold her duplex at 969 Fifth Ave for a few hundred thousand which is now worth at least $20,000,000 and she sold an ocean front house in Southampton to Norman Lear's ex wife Francis for under a million which is now worth at least $30,000,000. But she needed the money to piss away on her lifestyle.

by Anonymousreply 44603/30/2019

Poor Tina

by Anonymousreply 44703/30/2019

by Anonymousreply 44903/30/2019

R445, She would have been stripped of all jewelry and metal before the oven.

by Anonymousreply 45003/30/2019

Tina will probably be fine with whatever she ends up with from The Princess. She clearly has no interest in clothes, personal grooming or living well.

by Anonymousreply 45103/30/2019

carole from housewives of ny married the son? does she ever mention it?

by Anonymousreply 45203/30/2019

I imagine Tina was the type of person Lee would have never given the time of day to had she not been her daughter.

by Anonymousreply 45303/31/2019

lee lasted a long time, how come her sis got cancer, and she dint?

by Anonymousreply 45403/31/2019

When Tina was born, there were serious health problems that forced her to remain hospitalized for over a month in a NYC hospital. Lee was not well after the birth and also became anxious and depressed about Tina. Her husband decided to take Lee home to London to get well, leaving Tina in the NYC hospital. Eventually, Tina became well enough to be flown home to be reunited with her mother.

by Anonymousreply 45503/31/2019
carole from housewives of ny married the son? does she ever mention it?

Clearly, when Lee left her baby in NYC and flew to London, this was the time when someone substituted Rachel Dratch's ugly sister for the Radziwill baby

by Anonymousreply 45703/31/2019

Carole Radziwill had only a few topics of conversation: she was married to Anthony Radziwill; She was BFFs with JFK Jr. and Carolyn; they all died and she and Lee comforted each other, formed a strong bond, and remained close. I'm not sure what she'll be talking about now that the strong bond has been revealed to be.....not so strong.

by Anonymousreply 45803/31/2019

You never know what someone’s net worth is. I bet Lee didn’t have a pot to piss in.

When my MIL died suddenly, she was in heavy debt. She lived quite lavishly and everyone assumed she was a very wealthy woman - including her own children. The only thing she had was a double-mortgaged property which will only ever increase in value, so we are bailing it out and keeping it.

When my “poor” mother died, she left a paid-off house, car and a few bank accounts full of cash. Not to mention the enormous stash of cash stashed around the house. She lived extremely frugally and we inherited her considerable legacy.

You never know.

by Anonymousreply 45903/31/2019

Lee did have a few pits to piss in. She didn't sell everything.

by Anonymousreply 46003/31/2019

Caroline's daughter, Tatiana Schlossberg, is quite tall. But unfortunately, she inherited none of the Bouvier prettiness from Jackie or Lee, just the horsiness of her mother (and other Kennedy women).

Those beady eyes must be from the Schlossberg side.

Poor thing looks a little bit.... trans.

by Anonymousreply 46103/31/2019

I think she's quite attractive.

I had hopes for Rose. When she wasn't much more than a kid she looked like she would be a class act. Now she looks like she doesn't even bother to wash her pussy. Maybe she'll grow out of it.

by Anonymousreply 46603/31/2019

She's gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 46703/31/2019

I really don't give AF what woman does or doesn't wash her pussy. She has 250 million reasons either way.

by Anonymousreply 46803/31/2019

Lee was, indeed, cremated.

by Anonymousreply 46904/01/2019

Lee always put on a brave front - but she had outlived so many of her friends and family.

In the words of the immortal Tiffany Haddish, "She ready."

by Anonymousreply 47004/01/2019

Is there any reason to be so nasty about Tina's appearance? She seems to have led a pretty private life and I can't imagine being Lee's daughter was any fucking picnic.

by Anonymousreply 47104/01/2019

Tina had it easy.

by Anonymousreply 47204/01/2019

When she was a teenager, Jackie would constantly berate Caroline about her weight. At one point, she forbid Caroline from drinking soda.

by Anonymousreply 47304/01/2019

forbade

by Anonymousreply 47404/01/2019

April Fool!

by Anonymousreply 47504/01/2019

LOL!!!

by Anonymousreply 47604/01/2019

Fun Fact: One of Jackie's legs was 1/4" shorter than the other, so she would have one heel enhanced on each new pair of shoes to compensate.

by Anonymousreply 47704/01/2019

So Lee is what Princess Ann would have been, if Lilibet had fcut off that serpent form the royal purse strings.

by Anonymousreply 47804/01/2019

Pass. She was only ever "British hot"

by Anonymousreply 47904/01/2019

Tatiana Schlossberg.... ah well, she's her mother's daughter, after all.

by Anonymousreply 48004/02/2019

Here's her (somewhat better) engagement photo. As I said earlier, she's ALL Kennedy female and has none of the Bouvier charm.

It's a pity I never had a daughter. Oh, wait...

by Anonymousreply 48104/02/2019

[Lee was so fashionably thin when she died]

by Anonymousreply 48204/02/2019

Tatiana looks like a supermodel compared to the Princess' daughter, who could be her father in drag.

by Anonymousreply 48304/02/2019
Fun Fact: One of Jackie's legs was 1/4" shorter than the other, so she would have one heel enhanced on each new pair of shoes to compensate.

Was that from speading her legs so much?

by Anonymousreply 48404/02/2019
Lee was so fashionably thin when she died

by Anonymousreply 48504/02/2019

reply 457...I wonder who the real Radziwill baby is?

by Anonymousreply 48604/03/2019

Tatiana looks exactly like her mother in that engagement photo. There are worse things. Rose is a real beauty.

by Anonymousreply 48704/03/2019

It’s so heartbreaking that Jacqueline Kennedy did not have the same lifespan as her sister.

by Anonymousreply 48804/03/2019

r488 jackie would have needed to have had a little work done.

by Anonymousreply 48904/03/2019

500 posts in, and it finally dawns on me that OP misspelled Radziwill.

by Anonymousreply 49004/03/2019

Jackie had work done.

by Anonymousreply 49104/03/2019

R491 WHAT?!?

by Anonymousreply 49204/03/2019

Yes, she had a good and subtle facelift.

by Anonymousreply 49304/03/2019

r491 is an insider. Right, r491?

by Anonymousreply 49404/03/2019

R494, this is not breaking news.

by Anonymousreply 49504/03/2019

Not in New York, no. But in her early 50s, she had the bare minimum done. Freshened up, as they say.

by Anonymousreply 49604/03/2019

Jackie had a face lift in 1989, the year she turned 60.

by Anonymousreply 49704/03/2019

It isn't any kind of news, r495. It's rank speculation.

by Anonymousreply 49804/03/2019

Nope, about 10 years earlier. It's not speculation.

by Anonymousreply 49904/03/2019

r470 was Lee a Dame of Malta?

by Anonymousreply 50004/03/2019

JFK, Jr. always denied that his mother had undergone a face lift and it highly irritated him that people thought she had.

by Anonymousreply 50104/03/2019
JFK, Jr. always denied that his mother had undergone a face lift and it highly irritated him that people thought she had.

Bitch let's be real here. Caroline is around the same age as her mother was when she died. Caroline to my knowledge does not smoke five packs of cigarettes a day. Compare their faces and tell me that Jackie didn't get a face lift. Jr. can blow me.

by Anonymousreply 50204/03/2019

Both sisters were fug. How were they able to fool people into thinking that they were world class beauties?

by Anonymousreply 50304/03/2019

Rose Kennedy Schlossberg is quite pretty but petite. Tatiana looks like her father.

by Anonymousreply 50404/03/2019

Rose is the best looking of Caroline Kennedy's children.

by Anonymousreply 50504/03/2019

That is true r505.

by Anonymousreply 50604/03/2019

Clearly a big dick on her son Jack

by Anonymousreply 50704/03/2019

Is there a dick pic?

by Anonymousreply 50804/03/2019
[Lee was so fashionably thin when she died]

You think Lee was thin before...you should see her now - she is so thin, she is heroin chic

by Anonymousreply 50904/03/2019

Lee was cremated? They found some fire that wasn't afraid of her?

by Anonymousreply 51004/03/2019

I bet Tina got a discount. How much could it cost to burn 80 pounds?

by Anonymousreply 51104/03/2019

Jackie was jowly late 1970's early 1980's. Apparently she had two facelifts, the latter around her 60th birthday and you can clearly see her top eyelids had been done. Lee obviously had her face lifted and eyes done too, at least. I'm sure Jackie would have dabbled in a bit of filler and botox, had she lived, but not to the extreme. I don't think Jackie was adverse to people seeing her with wrinkles, but she would still probably want to look good, unlike Caroline who doesn't care because she;s too academic to care of such fickle things.

by Anonymousreply 51204/04/2019

Caroline is too ugly to bother. She's known from an early age it would just be a waste of her time. I find her claims of intelligence to be a bit overrated. Every time I've heard her speak she's sound pretty thick.

by Anonymousreply 51304/04/2019

I love the way you speak of Caroline as if she's actually told you what she knew from an early age.

by Anonymousreply 51404/04/2019

HI, CAROLINE!

by Anonymousreply 51504/04/2019

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the sad old queen who operates the Lee Radziwill twitter account, I imagine he is a dlounger. There were a lot of naïve people, some famous and celebrated, who believed it was actually Lee using twitter (as if). The surprise these silly fools must have gotten when Lee died and they realised it wasn't her! In any case, the catty remarks attributed to Lee are still posted daily from heaven. Sad.

by Anonymousreply 51604/04/2019

Link, R516?

by Anonymousreply 51704/04/2019

Caroline will eventually morph into Aunt Eunice.

by Anonymousreply 51804/04/2019

Aunt Eunice was a remarkable woman...

by Anonymousreply 51904/04/2019

r517

by Anonymousreply 52004/05/2019

Some of the Tweets at R520 are actually pretty funny. But "she" spends too much time discussing the Real Housewives and other really pedestrian crap.

by Anonymousreply 52104/06/2019

Whatever you say, you can't say the dame didn't have style.

by Anonymousreply 52204/06/2019

Lee's still dead.

Let's keep talking.

by Anonymousreply 52304/14/2019

Her, Jack, JFK jr, and Jackie are now playing hearts in heaven.

by Anonymousreply 52404/14/2019

Doris Duke ended up with about 250 million when her mother croaked in 1962. She had already inherited 100 million as a child. Barbara Hutton took control of her 100 million at 21 in 1933 - almost 2 billion in today's dollars.

by Anonymousreply 52504/15/2019

Hugh D. Auchincloss was a successful broker in his own right and a Standard Oil heir. I wonder how much Auchincloss loot Janet managed to get. I wonder how much Lee spent down, because Lee never made any money and didn't marry money. Maybe Herb Ross had some money but not big old money. The other two - good names but broke. Lee was lucky Jackie learned well from Janet and married HUGE money - both times!

by Anonymousreply 52604/15/2019

R526, Hugh did not leave Janet very much at all. She was forced to sell off Hammersmith Farm, piece by piece, ultimately living in what was once the servants' quarters.

by Anonymousreply 52704/15/2019

Hugh D lost most of his fortune before his death, didn't he r527?

As I remember it, he lost a lot of money for his clients and, being an old school guy, he decided to pay them back from his own money or something like that.

by Anonymousreply 52804/15/2019

Janet remarried some old sailor or something, someone considered way inappropriate, in her later years, and then left him a widower. The family made sure he got basically nothing from her.

by Anonymousreply 52904/15/2019

R529, I don't think he was an old sailor, I thought he was an old childhood friend of hers.

by Anonymousreply 53004/15/2019

Could be, r530, I just remembering reading about it in one of the bios some years ago. I was surprised to see she had remarried. And that she had died not that long before Jackie.

by Anonymousreply 53104/15/2019

bump

by Anonymousreply 53204/21/2019

there's got to be more info on the old bitch? There's hardly any out there. When are they selling her things? What did she die from? Ailments? Was she gaga? Stories? Was he relationship with (fugly) Tina estranged?

by Anonymousreply 53304/21/2019

R531, Jackie had that guy thrown out of the residence and ordered him to stay away from her mother Janet after she discovered that he was abusing her.

by Anonymousreply 53404/21/2019
r527 She was forced to sell off Hammersmith Farm, piece by piece, ultimately living in what was once the servants' quarters.

It's not uncommon to downsize in later years. Nancy Lancaster sold her last big house, Haseley Court , with the provision that she could live in several small outbuildings on the property until her death.

by Anonymousreply 53504/21/2019

Source: Lee Radziwill still dead

by Anonymousreply 53604/21/2019

The old queen who operates the Lee Radziwill Twitter page really is quite mentally ill. The women's dead, we know you;re not Lee and never have been!

by Anonymousreply 53704/21/2019

Downsizing because you have no money is not the same as chosing to.

by Anonymousreply 53804/21/2019

As opposed, r537, to "we know you're not Lee but maybe you once were"?

by Anonymousreply 53904/22/2019

Doris Duke inherited from her Father who died when she was quite young. She died a Billionaire.

by Anonymousreply 54004/22/2019

Who are you kidding? Jackie paid him to beat her up.

by Anonymousreply 54104/22/2019

r539 no, the Lee Radziwill twitter has always been run by an obsessional middle aged queen from the Midwest. He convinced a lot of naïve people that he was the real Lee Radziwill despite the sometimes vulgar things he said in her name. He continues to operate the twitter as Lee from heaven because he is mentally ill.

by Anonymousreply 54204/23/2019

r540, rather random? You know we're talking about Lee Radziwill, not Doris Duke?

by Anonymousreply 54304/23/2019

bump: Lee's apartment is for sale, she really was broke, no important furniture or artwork here. But there is a mirror so she could look at herself from her bed.

by Anonymousreply 54404/30/2019

Do people in NYC still need staff rooms?

by Anonymousreply 54504/30/2019

R544, That was listed almost as quickly as Barbara Cook's apartment.

by Anonymousreply 54604/30/2019
r544 No important furniture or artwork here. But there is a mirror so she could look at herself from her bed.

[bold]#Priorities

by Anonymousreply 54704/30/2019

Is that building considered "fashionable"?

by Anonymousreply 54804/30/2019

I wish there were more photos of the apartment. Giving us only two is such a tease!

by Anonymousreply 54904/30/2019

i wonder where she died? What happened? I wonder if it smells like cigarettes and old lady perfume? Chanel No. 5? Antiseptic? Deep heat and mothballs? Benign decay? What couturier was she buried in?

by Anonymousreply 55004/30/2019

I guess there wont be an auction like Jackie's

by Anonymousreply 55104/30/2019
What couturier was she buried in?

I don't know but Lee is thinner than ever!

She is so chic - all the anorexic NY Society women are simply green with envy

by Anonymousreply 55204/30/2019

what in the world is wrong with you, r550?

by Anonymousreply 55304/30/2019

r552 Lee's not thin now, she's dust, she was cremated.

by Anonymousreply 55404/30/2019
Lee's not thin now, she's dust, she was cremated.

OMG, she's dust!

I don't know how I'll ever compete with her now - Lee was always so fashion forward!

by Anonymousreply 55504/30/2019

I’m just getting around to reading the March 2019 version of Harper’s Bazaar and there is an article in it titled “16 Odd Questions for Lee Radziwill.” No mention of her death or anything. Must have been to the printer before they could change it.

The description of the article reads, “This month, the legendary style icon, Capote swan, sister of Jackie, and one of the most alluring women ever turns 86. Here, Radziwill— still elegant with exacting taste and a sardonic wit— tells us a thing or two.”

The article:

Who was the person who had a big influence on you?

The great Renaissance art historian Bernard Berenson, whom I met when I was 18. He created the terms “life-enhancing” and “life-diminishing” to describe people. It’s so true— people are either one or the other.

What person alive today do you most admire?

Myself.

Why?

I think I’ve gotten through an awful lot completely alone.

Which photograph best captures who you are?

The pictures Bert Stern took of me are sensational— he was the best for me, and for Marilyn Monroe.

Who is the sexiest man you’ve ever known?

David Somerset, the late duke of Beaufort. The sexiest and the most elegant.

Did you have an affair with him?

None of your business. Let’s say it was a flirtation.

Which of your homes was your favorite?

I loved each of them while I was there.

by Anonymousreply 55604/30/2019

Article (con’t.)

What is your favorite spot in your home now?

My bed.

Why?

I designed it, and it’s the perfect length and width. The whole room, including the bed, is fuchsia, my favorite color; and there’s a great picture of me with Andy Warhol over the desk.

What is your favorite place in the world?

The Amalfi Coast.

What is the best trip you ever made?

My first trip to Europe. I went with my sister when I was 18 and she was 22. When we got back we wrote and illustrated a book about it called “One Special Summer.”

What is your favorite book?

WIDE SARGASSO SEA, by Jean Rhys.

What’s your favorite building?

The cathedral in Mantua, Italy. The painting in the dome is breathtaking.

Do you have a secret passion or talent?

Many.

Tell us one.

Painting watercolors.

by Anonymousreply 55704/30/2019

How much are the uneaten frozen dinners from 1973 worth?

by Anonymousreply 55804/30/2019

"Who is the sexiest man you’ve ever known?

David Somerset, the late duke of Beaufort. The sexiest and the most elegant."

I'm very surprised she didn’t say Peter Beard.

by Anonymousreply 55904/30/2019

David Somerset, Duke of Beaufort.

BDF?

by Anonymousreply 56004/30/2019

This was the pic of the duke included with the article.

by Anonymousreply 56104/30/2019

Why are you the person alive you admire most, Lee?

"I think I’ve gotten through an awful lot completely alone."

So much self-awareness, Lee

by Anonymousreply 56205/01/2019

The article was written and sent to the printers just before Lee died, ironically she never got to 86. I wonder what she died from if she wasn't expected to die and seemed to have all her marbles is this interview is correct.

by Anonymousreply 56305/01/2019

She was 85. Perhaps it was natural causes.

by Anonymousreply 56405/01/2019

I'd like to think Lee went inelegantly, like straining to push a shit out on the toilet and her heart gave out...oh wait, Lee didn't shit because she didn't eat. Perhaps she starved to death? Drunk herself to death?

by Anonymousreply 56505/01/2019

did anyone not tell Marc Jacobs or Andre Leon Talley (aka the obese king of an African micro nation draped in leopard print) what The Princess Radziwill thought of the gays? ie. Truman Capote and Gore Vidal 'just a couple of fags'

by Anonymousreply 56605/01/2019

Yeah, R565

After living such a restrained life,

I think Lee decided to go Elvis-style

Sitting on the throne, eating a NuttyBuddy,

Straining far too much, because she over-indulged in her pain pills

Just one more mess for her poor Dominican maid to have to clean

by Anonymousreply 56705/01/2019

The rumor (hah I think I read it here) was that she fell and bled out before anyone found her.

by Anonymousreply 56805/01/2019

R568, Seriously doubtful.

by Anonymousreply 56905/01/2019

I like to thing she was getting some BBC up the ass. It was so big it hit her liver or some other internal and killed her. Right when he was pumping his load into her.

by Anonymousreply 57005/01/2019

She was getting fisted and had had some crack shoved up her ass when she started showing signs of distress and barfing into her designer leather mask. Her friend, who was known to the police, stayed to administer CPR, but to no avail.

This happens so often, there's really no stigma attached anymore.

by Anonymousreply 57105/02/2019

Lee's apartment is on the market for $5.7 million dollars. I think tina is trying to sell it fast with it listed at that price.

by Anonymousreply 57205/02/2019

^^^death taxes and she probably wants to erase all memory of Lee from her life.

by Anonymousreply 57305/02/2019

R572, The price was dropped a few days ago to $4.9 million.
