God, they are BORING in that podcast, talking about how easily they roll into being in love when the scene starts filming.

The chemistry and tension is not zero, but it is off-kilter. They fell out of groove (it happens), and are not getting constructive feedback from the producer and director on set. When CM came back, glimpses of their former chemistry was there- for months. So it seems as if playing the full amnesia storyline, as written and directed, put a kink in. Will and Sonny were not allowed the time to take that budding chemistry and rebuild. Their first story arc instead called for the opposite. Therefore I do expect the on-screen chemistry and tension to only improve from here on out. The scenes airing now, were taped last August.

R187 The biggest problem was Ron making them declare themselves "soulmates" after Will got his memories back, and the actors not being able to deliver that level of chemistry. In a way, it's all because they wrote themselves into a corner with Horita having more chemistry than they anticipated, so in order to jettison Horita ASAP (because CS was leaving), they had to hype WilSon up to be fated and inevitable, but again the chemistry was just not there to convey that. So the viewers get told they are meant to be over and over, but the scenes on the screen say otherwise.

Oh God, the endless Horshita trolling. You all belong with the Patch, Kayla and any 80s/90s fraus who pine for their dead story lines.

Ron and co already had a number of characters on canvas declare Will and Sonny 'soulmates', beginning in the summer of 17'. And during the amnesia storyline it was said that if Will had his memories in tact, he would be with Sonny. So it was to be expected when he chose Sonny. That was the planned story arc according to Ron Carlivati. A trope recycled. The rush of memories with the attached emotions, Paul becoming paralyzed, and Will and Sonny saying goodbye in the park was written and taped before Christopher Sean made the decision to not renew his contract. Ron and co were writing the Thanksgiving Day episode just weeks before CS taped his last scene in May 18'. Only a handful of scenes were re-written to accommodate CS leaving. In Ron's words, what changed was how soon the cat was let out of the bag regarding Will being in love with Sonny. Another trope recycled. CS left last minute, so the conclusion was rushed and wrapped up in a bow. And Greg Rikaart reprising Leo was bumped up ahead of schedule.

Ron Carlivati said had he known CS was not re-signing, he 'may not have' -may not have- paralyzed Paul. How nice.

Will & Sonny get married again.

The writers played on Will's last phone call to Sonny, before his death. Will died "in love" with Sonny.

R192 There is no "in love" chemistry between Will and Sonny to match all the declarations of love. They had better chemistry in that dream sequence back in 2017 than now. The problem is the character Sonny has gotten more pathetic since then (the stupidity with Leo and all the whining) thanks to the awful writing for him, and people have the more convincing Horita chemistry to compare to.

Amnesia Will was not all that different from non-Amnesia Will. Pieces of Amnesia Will's characterization and personality were always present in Will at one time (not necessarily all at once) since childhood. I prefer non- Ron Carlivati Will myself.

Amnesia Will was more like pre-WilSon Will... more proactive and impulsive. The WilSon ship turns Will into the helpless victim of whatever plot device/villain the writers happens to throw at him.

One can only wonder how McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas Jr would have written the Will and Sonny romance, had they not been fired. Christopher Whitesell (with Higley) began the coming out storyline, but pulled back. Then Whitesell was fired, and Higley made the solo head writer. Then she was fired, and McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas Jr came on and re started the coming out storyline. They wrote almost all the best parts. But a year later they were fired for Christopher Whitesell and Gary Tomlin. Whitesell and Tomlin went full steam ahead on a Will and Sonny romance.

Side note... Whitesell gave us the shirtless summer scenes by the lake...
