Controversy over 10 Year Old “Drag Kid” being photographed with Naked Adult Drag Queen

On Monday, 10-year-old Canadian boy Nemis Quinn Mélançon-Golden was featured in a troubling Huck Magazine piece highlighting the life of a so-called "child drag queen."

Young Nemis, whose drag name is "Queen Lactacia," was shot by photographer Jonathan Frederick Turton for the spread. In one of the shots that did not make the magazine, Nemis, in full drag makeup and a black dress, is posing for a photo with the Season 7 winner of "RuPaul's Drag Race," Violet Chachki. In the shocking photo, Violet is wearing nothing but a pair of heels and a small piece of fabric covering his genitals, as seen in the screenshot below:

Child drag queen pictured with naked winner of Rupaul’s Drag Race @Cernovich @PrisonPlanet @allidoisowen @lifttheveil411 @jamiedlux pic.twitter.com/d9gf7wGzkI

— molly (@roughly_speakin) January 11, 2019 "Interviewed and photographed [Queen Lactatia] for [Huck Magazine] about life as a child drag queen," posted Turton.

Turton, according to his website, "is a multi-media content producer with specialisms in photography, videography and journalism." He claims to have shot for mainstream outlets and businesses like the BBC, Adidas, Dazed and Confused Magazine, and The Discovery Channel.

In the jarring Huck Magazine piece — which ironically bashes Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro for calling out parents for over-sexualizing their "drag kids" — Nemis' mother, Jessica Melancon, conceded that drag has a sexual component and is unapologetic about her young son wearing sexually suggestive clothing if it "makes him feel beautiful":

“Drag is an adult arena and that’s where people question our judgement,” concedes Jessica. “So we have to censor things. He knows there are adult aspects of drag that he’s not allowed to apply to his show.”

“We would never try to overtly sexualise our child. But if he wears something that makes him feel beautiful, what right do I have to stop him wearing that dress because it might cause people to think things they shouldn’t be thinking? It’s a circular problem.”

In 2017, Nemis appeared on stage with popular drag queen Bianca Del Rio at a drag show his mother brought him to. The clip of the two on stage together, wherein the drag queen repeatedly uses the word "b****" and drops an "f"-bomb, quickly went viral.

"That video happened and everyone went crazy," Jessica recalled. "But we knew from the get-go we never wanted to lose control, or lose sight of it being fun for Nemis.”

According to Jessica, drag is "how Nemis chooses to express himself. He's just a kid playing."

"There is so much more going on in the world right now which is more horrifying and terrifying than my child wearing fancy shoes and a skirt. This shouldn’t be on anyone’s list of priorities," she added.

Nemis also appears to already be an LGBT advocate. "Choose Love. Be Proud. Smash the Patriarchy and be kind to one another, always! #pride #lovenothate#loveislove #nonbinary #thefutureisfluid," reads a post on the boy's Instagram account, which is said to be run by his mother.

In December, an 11-year-old named Desmond Napoles performed a sexually-suggestive musical number in full drag at a New York City-based gay bar called 3 Dollar Bill. The boy received dollar bills from the adult males in the audience, as one might see in a strip club.

As reported by The Daily Wire, Desmond (AKA Desmond is Amazing) "was dressed as a Gwen Stefani-lookalike — full drag make up, a blonde wig, and crop top included — as he bounced around onstage to No Doubt's 'Just a Girl' and collected dollar bills from male adults viewing the number."

Many people of all walks of life are outraged about this, some non Christians even saying that what Christians have been saying is all happening.

It's hardly porn, so fuck Woods. He's a perv anyway.

But it's still inappropriate for a child to be in drag. Drag is a form of adult entertainment. Not knocking drag at all, but that environment is NO PLACE FOR A CHILD. It's not.

by Anonymousreply 2January 18, 2019 9:12 PM

Europe is a lot less prudish about nudity. Nude breast can be seen on tv after 8 or 9pm.

by Anonymousreply 3January 18, 2019 9:14 PM

That means children can see them, r3! Won't someone please think of children!!!

by Anonymousreply 4January 18, 2019 9:16 PM

Are you kidding me??? Bare breasts are shown on SOME NETWORKS late at night in UK. And that’s breast’s. Not the vulva or a dick!!!

Some of you are REALLY SICK. Wow. I’ve never been so ashamed to be gay as seeing gay men DEFENDING a child taking pics with a nude adult!!!

by Anonymousreply 5January 18, 2019 9:18 PM

Child abuse, pure and simple.

by Anonymousreply 6January 18, 2019 9:20 PM

This idea that nudity is shown in the Uk like nothing is a lie that perverts use to defend their perversions.

Bare ass and tits are shown in the UK on networks geared toward adults or older teens with warnings before the episode and sometimes when coming back from commercial breaks. It’s only shown on some networks and after a certain time. It’s not like you’re gonna turn on the TV at 3pm and see a hard dick. That’s sick.

by Anonymousreply 7January 18, 2019 9:25 PM

What about nudists? You may object to their lifestyle, but they have a right to it, and their children are exposed to (*gasp*) nudity on a regular basis. Maybe everyone didn't have a bible shoved down their throat as children, and don't see the nude body as sinful.

by Anonymousreply 8January 18, 2019 9:28 PM

Violet better watch his clumsy ass self. This is very poor taste and questionably legally.

by Anonymousreply 9January 18, 2019 9:31 PM

I don't feel at all comfortable with the parents letting their kid do this, but I also feel very uncomfortable with adults going after this kid and demonizing him.

by Anonymousreply 10January 18, 2019 9:32 PM

That kid’s going to grow up with no sense of healthy boundaries. If he enjoys playing dress-up and wearing girly things, fine. But he should be doing that in the privacy of his home, possibly with friends his own age for little dress-up parties on Saturday afternoons. His mother is whoring him out for attention and profit. She’s managing his IG account and putting hashtags on the posts that, I’m sure, aren’t the things a lad of his age group are talking about among their friends. That’s all his mother. Exploiting her child. Dressing him not like a girl but like an adult woman who sells sex. Perhaps he’s enjoying it now but in a few years he may be mortified about all this and there will be no undoing it.

Also, wtf with the name Queen Lactatia? That’s degrading to women. What in the hell is wrong with his parents?!

by Anonymousreply 11January 18, 2019 9:33 PM

Drag is adult entertainment, so not only is it harmful to the kid, it’s awkward for the grown queens to have some twisted stage Frau and her crotchfruit slither into their midst.

For the record, I think ALL child entertainers are exploited - including actors, pageant brats, and underage girl dancers in the slathered in makeup and hoochie clothes with moms who live vicariously through them.

And it’s almost always straight, white middle class parents looking for $$ and attention who push their kids into acting and drag, but the right wing loons are already hypocritically exploiting drag kid themselves by publicizing him as an example of the “gay agenda.”

by Anonymousreply 12January 18, 2019 9:36 PM

Drag is no longer adult entertainment. If a Drag Queen isn’t sanitized and isn’t PC, that drag queen will be dragged for filth. Ever since Drag Race went mainstream, drag queens are now disneyfied. The contestants have more in common with Americans Next Top Model than the drag queens that used to be edgy and counter culture. Look at Drag Race now, the successful drag queens are all the “pretty” yet talentless ones.

by Anonymousreply 13January 18, 2019 9:44 PM

He's no Craig Russell!

by Anonymousreply 14January 18, 2019 9:47 PM

Shut the fuck up, R5 and R7. UK rules on television content allow non-sexual nudity at any time of day.

by Anonymousreply 15January 18, 2019 9:47 PM

I've seen naked penis and butt on Big Brother UK several times.

by Anonymousreply 16January 18, 2019 9:49 PM

That kid is gross and so is Violet.

by Anonymousreply 17January 18, 2019 9:54 PM

BB is shown late at night in UK.

by Anonymousreply 18January 18, 2019 9:56 PM

Channel 4 explicitly state their guidelines regarding nudity before 9pm. Off the top of my head, they've show A Room With A View and Orlando recently uncut in daytime (both PG rated), and were doing a life drawing thing a few years ago at midday with a naked man as the model.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 19January 18, 2019 10:07 PM

Channel 4 also repeated Peter Greenaway's Dante's Inferno adaptation in daytime back in the 90s without any of the nudity removed.

by Anonymousreply 20January 18, 2019 10:08 PM

Lactatia and Desmond are being groomed for pedophiles.

Gay nightlife and the shady characters who operate in it love to corrupt the innocent.

Desmond can already "ki ki" with a drag queen about doing Special K (video below.) It won't be long before Lactatia is getting tips on how to douche before certain VIPs arrive at the after hours party. The drag circuit is full of sex workers (aka hustlers and porn stars), drug dealers, and drug addicts. No place for small children.

These are young boys who should be expressing themselves in glee clubs and children's theater workshops.

Look at the gays defending a grown man having his penis out in front of a 10 Year Old.

Wait until things turn on the LGBT community for all this disgusting behavior then they are gonna be crying how unfair life is again. This time the karma will have been earned.

by Anonymousreply 22January 18, 2019 10:11 PM

Ain’t no big thing.

by Anonymousreply 23January 18, 2019 10:11 PM

Before The Watershed

Visual and verbal references to sex and matters related to sex should be editorially justified and appropriately limited and inexplicit. Representations of sexual intercourse must not be shown unless there is "... a serious educational purpose". This means the actual act of sexual intercourse, both real and where it's acted, as opposed to other sexual behaviour. The inclusion of nudity and all references to sexual acts, verbal and visual, must be justifiable by the context. What is acceptable in a mid-afternoon, discussion programme aimed at adults may well not be suitable for inclusion in a Saturday morning magazine show, which attracts large numbers of children. In addition, the way in which material is presented, that is serious, flippant, or crude is likely to be a major factor in determining whether it is suitable or not.

It is most unlikely that any graphic sexual images or any explicit descriptions of sexual activity will be acceptable in pre-watershed programmes unless the programme has a serious educational purpose and, even then, any such material would require careful thought.

For example, whilst showing inexplicit acts of foreplay for example kissing or hugging is unlikely to be problematic in most pre-watershed programming, more overtly sexual activities for example foreplay involving genitalia or showing nudity, oral sex, masturbation, or sexual intercourse is very unlikely to be suitable for a family audience. Even if the sexual activity is happening off camera, it may still be too suggestive for transmission before 9pm, if it is clear what is happening.

Before the watershed, verbal references to sexual activity should be kept relatively inexplicit. Mild innuendo and oblique references to sex are more likely to be acceptable than comments or descriptions that leave little to the imagination.

Nudity in a sexual context is unlikely to be acceptable before the watershed unless strictly limited, whereas nudity in the context of an item about health or education, for example a beauty treatment or medical examination, is less likely to exceed viewers' expectations, although a flagging should be considered.

Full frontal nudity (both male and female), even in a non-sexual context, is unlikely to be acceptable before the watershed, unless there is a serious educational reason for showing it. Less explicit nudity, however, for example above waist nudity, catching a brief glimpse of someone from behind getting out of the shower, naturism, or topless sunbathing is unlikely to be problematic as long as it is editorially justified.

by Anonymousreply 24January 18, 2019 10:17 PM

10 year olds shouldn't be dressing in drag, it shouldn't be celebrated with photo shoots , and it shouldn't be celebrated in this way. This was fucked up from the start.

by Anonymousreply 25January 18, 2019 10:17 PM

It literally says full frontal nudity is not acceptable even in a non sexual way in what you posted R19....

by Anonymousreply 26January 18, 2019 10:18 PM

[quote]Gay nightlife and the shady characters who operate in it love to corrupt the innocent. It won't be long before Lactatia is getting tips on how to douche before certain VIPs arrive at the after hours party.

Can't gay-hating fraus like R21 be banned from this site? These hate-filled cunts are always accusing all gay people of being pedoes. Why is it allowed?

by Anonymousreply 27January 18, 2019 10:18 PM

I dont understand why his parents let him do this, he is just a child. I've never been a fan of drag queens, because I dont find them funny . Beside, "gay culture" it's not an environment for a children.

by Anonymousreply 28January 18, 2019 10:19 PM

I am from the UK, and nudity is nothing like what you all claim. Nudity is shown after certain hours and the nudity shown prior to those hours are for educational purposes in a non sexual way.

Big Brother is considered a late night adult program in the UK and Australia etc... the USA and Canada are the only family version that exists.

by Anonymousreply 29January 18, 2019 10:20 PM

Tired of bitchy vulgar drag queens representing gay culture, fuck the shit!

by Anonymousreply 30January 18, 2019 10:20 PM

R27 I would agree with you if I didn't see a bunch of gays defending this and making excuses for pedophilia. Thats way worse than "homophobia"

by Anonymousreply 31January 18, 2019 10:21 PM

You know how catty and nasty backstage can be. So the kid should pick up the salty language and attitude of bitter, shady adults who will most likely take their frustrations out on him? The minute he starts getting shady with him, they will suddenly play grown up on his ass and he will get his face broke. He should not be in that environment. Would you put a girl his age with a bunch of strippers - or even a straight boy with strippers? NO. So why do that with a gay child with drag queens? I'm surprised Canada's version of Child Services hasn't investigated this. It is inappropriate, tacky and most importantly, DANGEROUS, in more ways than one. When he starts talking about hiding his candy and enemas, get back to me and let me know how that works out for him.

by Anonymousreply 32January 18, 2019 10:24 PM

R21 and R22 are the right wing loons who ignore the fact that straight, middle class white women are the ones living through their sons by pushing them into tbe drag circuit - not gay men. And r22 is also the homophobe who linked to the Daily Wire in their OP.

by Anonymousreply 33January 18, 2019 10:26 PM

R27 Can't you see that when gay and lesbian advocates do things like this it leads to those stereotypes? This fucked up shite makes people think gay = pedo.

by Anonymousreply 34January 18, 2019 10:29 PM

The moms are the wrongs for pushing their sons. The gays at those places are even more wrong for allowing them in:..

by Anonymousreply 35January 18, 2019 10:31 PM

Yep, blame the gays R34. You're very good at that aren't you?

by Anonymousreply 36January 18, 2019 10:33 PM

I'd say it was the other way around R35. The responsibility is mainly on the parents but venues and performers should set boundaries about the inclusion of minors especially pre teens.

by Anonymousreply 37January 18, 2019 10:35 PM

R33 Why do you turn everything into politics? Some ignorant people still thinking that gay are pedos, things like that make them look like they are right

by Anonymousreply 38January 18, 2019 10:35 PM

I do think drag can be creative expression for children. I'd be careful about exposing a child to drag "culture." Drag culture is adult expression.

by Anonymousreply 39January 18, 2019 10:36 PM

The moms are just the same as the Munchausen By Proxy mothers whose need for attention either kills or near kills their children.

Those boys are likely doomed at this point to a life of dysfunction.

by Anonymousreply 40January 18, 2019 10:37 PM

Drag is for adults and those who'll be dieing soon.

The NEW Trans World will soon be enveloping us all!

by Anonymousreply 41January 18, 2019 10:38 PM

R40 I suspect the mom has MBP too - she’s very bizarre.

by Anonymousreply 42January 18, 2019 10:40 PM

The fact that the OP lifted this from something that includes @Cernovich (i.e. alt-right sources) deserves an instant F&F. No need to bother with anything else.

Whoever said above that Drag Race has Disney-fied drag is right. It's not a good thing. Drag is supposed to be a space where performers can be irreverent, crass, and not have to worry about "being nice", "making it family-friendly", or "not offending" anyone. I recently saw a few ads for Drag Con and the ads had children and teenagers in them. WTF?? Why does everything have to be kid-friendly? Some things are not, should not, and should never be for young audience or family fun. If you want family fun, go to LegoLand or Disney. The Drag Race fandom has changed massively over the last ten years. It used to be a niche show for the LGBT community. Now, these queens have 15-year old straight girls obsessing over them and writing fan fiction about them. Yuck. Drag has jumped the shark.

by Anonymousreply 45January 18, 2019 10:42 PM

Yes, get mad at OP for sharing the story. Not the parents or drag queens.

by Anonymousreply 46January 18, 2019 10:42 PM

this is just as weird as if a little girl was backstage with a stripper wearing pasties. bizarre and inappropriate.

drag is a NIGHTLIFE art. let him playact at home.

by Anonymousreply 47January 18, 2019 10:42 PM

Turn down the outrage machine, no one said that "all gays are pedos."

Anyone who has been on tour with the Drag Race crew knows that these are shady, drugged out, mentally unbalanced, literal whores. Anyone who says that they would happily send their 10 year-old son to hang out with them is lying to seem progressive, or needs their heads examined.

Like heterosexuals, we have a small percentage of pedophiles too. Most of us are upstanding citizens, but pedophiles walk among us and they hunt and groom boys for sex.

All of the Drag Race queens have talked about being stalked on social media and in real life. Why subject children to this shit?

by Anonymousreply 48January 18, 2019 10:48 PM

It's a problem that right wing sources get to run with this stuff. We need left wing journalism that isn't afraid to criticise what is happening with these kids without resorting to tarring the entire gay/drag community.

by Anonymousreply 49January 18, 2019 10:48 PM

You guys don’t think anyone in the lefty is homophobic? You all need wake up calls.

by Anonymousreply 50January 18, 2019 10:52 PM

Drag is out of date. It's a relic from the days of oppression.

WE don't need that rubbish anymore.

by Anonymousreply 51January 18, 2019 10:53 PM

Re: The Munchausens by Proxy theory is intriguing because the mom of another high-profile drag kid - “Desmond” - also put HER son into danger by allowing him to hang out with Michael Alig, the ketamine-snorting convicted murderer/dismemberer of Party Monster fame. Instead of injecting household cleaners into their kids’ bloodstreams, they pair them with dangerous criminals and pedophiles instead.

by Anonymousreply 52January 18, 2019 11:13 PM

Sure are a lot of people using this story to bash gays, even though this kid's parents aren't gay or part of the community.

by Anonymousreply 53January 18, 2019 11:48 PM

Drag isn't for kids. Full stop. Unfortunately, in their effort to appeal to fraus (like these kids' mothers) and fraus-in-training by making the show more mainstream, Drag Race has sent the message that it's ok to dress your kid in drag like any adult and parade them around for money and attention.

Sharon Needles once blew Alaska on stage. Willam once fisted a guy during a performance, and posted a link to a video of it right here on DL. No way that these new queens getting into the scene will do anything like that. It's become very sterilized, "disneyfied" as someone above put it.

Was it Lactatia's parents that were constantly crowdfunding to help get their rent paid, or was it the other, sickly-looking one?

by Anonymousreply 54January 19, 2019 12:05 AM

Which gays are being bashed, R53? The parents are straight (btw, it was Desmond's mom who was e-panhandling for the rent, R54.)

by Anonymousreply 55January 19, 2019 12:10 AM

Climb down off the cross R53. Most of us are bashing the mothers, not "the gays."

by Anonymousreply 56January 19, 2019 12:53 AM

It's only going to take one or two more pre-teens dressed in girls' clothing getting photographed with adult drag queens before something happens. Some will say enough is enough. Others with money and sex on their minds will exploit. The latter will use the four kids to launch a Drag Race Junior League, satifying the ones who don't want the kids to mingle with the older ones, and trolling the pedos to come pay to see these kids in a show.

When fathers start bringing their sons to the competition, you know the whole thing has started to reek. While the kids are on stage, the dad's will be setting appointments with guests to meet their sons in private.

by Anonymousreply 57January 19, 2019 12:57 AM

Drag Race is a parade of drug addition and mental illness.

by Anonymousreply 58January 19, 2019 1:12 AM

^^ I’m not into drag much, but am curious about what goes on behind the scenes. Please, D.R. insiders - spill some details instead of making vague claims. Us Mama Ru really embracing drag kids or just doing it for publicity?

by Anonymousreply 59January 19, 2019 1:32 AM

At this point, Ru just sees Drag Race as a cash cow. He has resigned himself to the fact that drag is now watered down for the masses, so if that means having 13-year-olds at DragCon doing a runway walkoff contest, so be it.

by Anonymousreply 60January 19, 2019 1:36 AM

If it comes out that these boys were drugged and/or molested, Ru’s going to lose a chunk of the very mainstream fanbase that contributed to the rise of “drag children” because he endorsed this shit. Sorry Ru, you got to start acting like a grown-ass man, and stifle that inner-child who aches to be friends with preteen male divas.

by Anonymousreply 61January 19, 2019 1:46 AM

Well I have to say I think this show has been pointless from the beginning.

I understand that if you stripped away all the tat from the star of the show one would be left with a withered, wizened, brown, bald man.

by Anonymousreply 62January 19, 2019 2:09 AM

^^ I bet he really looks like Scatman Crothers, lol.

by Anonymousreply 63January 19, 2019 2:15 AM

This is wrong, no question about it.

But the breeders can go fuck themselves. They are making out like gay men are pedophiles all the while straight men abuse underage girls all the time and straight women excuse and coddle their men and call the victims sluts and whores. This Woods asshole himself is a creep who creeps on underage girls. Breeders need to look inwards before they accuse us of being pedophiles. Fuck them!

by Anonymousreply 64January 19, 2019 3:08 AM

^^ It’s only cross-dressing heathens who threaten the God-fearing, middle class hetero parents who routinely put their daughters into hyper-sexualized dance troops because seeing a seven year old in heavy makeup, popping her booty, is just so ADORABLE.

[quote]Climb down off the cross [R53]

Who is this "climb down off of the coss" troll we picked up? I've seen this no less than four times today on threads, and always used inappropriately, like the person has no idea what it even means.

by Anonymousreply 66January 19, 2019 3:39 AM

Drag Race with classic drag queens couldn't survive in the current mainstream culture - they'd get pilloried and then advertisers would pull all funding. The only reason the show and drag is acceptable now is because it's been so watered down to appeal to the PC masses. It would not be a commercial success without that extreme sacrifice.

I don't think I would mind having a homogenised Drag Race if it weren't for RuPaul representing her show as the "future of drag" with every season. She's setting the standard and laying claim to it, so when a straight/PC person goes to a drag show with one of the older queens, they will flee in horror, assuming they're even allowed to do their standard antics.

Drag is supposed to be about subversiveness and exaggeration, but it's not that any longer.

by Anonymousreply 67January 19, 2019 3:45 AM

One of the gay clubs I went to back in the late 60s used to have drag night every Wednesday. The show of local drag queens lasted less than a hour. They'd lip-sync to Diana Ross songs, swear a lot, tell some jokes, show some skin--nothing too outrageous. Their pay was a couple of bar drinks. It was fun, however, and a little racey back in 1968. Being gay and being able to socialize in a public club was still new to us.

by Anonymousreply 68January 19, 2019 4:55 AM

This is so full of stinky fish I can’t believe it.

This proves the webmaster doesn’t care about gay people one bit.

This hateful thread would have been shut down long ago in the old days.

by Anonymousreply 69January 19, 2019 5:30 AM

Correct me i'm wrong, but nobody is molesting this kid and the kid is keeping all of his (admittedly ugly) clothes ON so gay people shouldn't have to defend against accusations of pedo. Having said that, keep kids the fuck out of drag, fuck ru paul for selling a gay staple to heterosexuals, and I thought Violet had no waist? Looks like she's got a normal sized waist in that picture? Can one of you queens explain this to me... is it sever internal re positioning that's going to lead to a hernia is 3,2,1?

by Anonymousreply 70January 19, 2019 5:43 AM

How are kids allowed in a gay club in the first place? Everything about this story is inappropriate. WTF is wrong with people.

by Anonymousreply 71January 19, 2019 5:50 AM

Haters going to hate! You go gurl!

by Anonymousreply 72January 19, 2019 6:00 AM

Haven’t we heard and read for years how dangerous and exploitive child beauty pageants are and how they sexualize young girls? How is this any different

by Anonymousreply 73January 19, 2019 6:09 AM

^Those pageant girls aren't doing photoshoots with naked men....

by Anonymousreply 74January 19, 2019 6:55 AM

Uh, I beg to differ!

by Anonymousreply 75January 19, 2019 11:04 AM

According to Desmond’s mom, he’s autistic, which explains why he’s so focused on and obsessed with drag. Mom also admits to having him watch Drag Race with her when he was a toddler which is probably how he caught the interest. Thank god she didn’t watch Sesame Street with him, or he’d be into puppeteering instead. That’s way more creepy and sinister than drag.

by Anonymousreply 76January 19, 2019 4:26 PM

The mom is a liar and a famewhore. Her son, as a probably-gay 6 year-old, liked to prance around with towels and blankets and a few years later emerged with a fully branded social media presence as DESMOND IS AMAZING!

The mom claims he is autistic and sensitive to audiovisual over stimulation, plus he has social anxiety ... yet she books him into pride parades and nightclubs!

She's exactly the type of fame hungry stage mom lacking concern for her child's welfare who can be easily manipulated into overnight visits to wealthy patrons (just ask the ghost of Michael Jackson.)

And for whoever is complaining that this is smearing "gay men as pedophiles" ... Fuck off! This is about cleaning house and driving out the small fraction of "boy lovers" and "minor attracted persons" who want to prey on little boys. We successfully threw out NAM BLA from our pride parades decades ago, but don't think they've given up.

by Anonymousreply 77January 19, 2019 4:50 PM

R77 Fetishizing our queerness is the other side of the gay child abuse coin flipped by clueless straight parents, although it’s much rarer than being invalidated and abused for not “acting straight.” Autistic kids also have a higher rate of gender non-conformity in general; many identify as trans, although Desmond seems happy being a boy who happens to wear femme clothes. The mom is scary though - what other attention-getting direction will she take him when his career in youth drag burns out?

When that kid grows up, he's going to be a very angry person.

by Anonymousreply 79January 19, 2019 5:35 PM

This is why they hate us.

by Anonymousreply 80January 19, 2019 6:06 PM

Nudity does not equal sex

by Anonymousreply 81January 19, 2019 6:24 PM

It was tucked!

by Anonymousreply 82January 19, 2019 7:00 PM

Not really naked, no story here.

by Anonymousreply 85January 20, 2019 3:04 PM

No one should allow their 10-year son to be doing this, much less be photographed and shared online.

The problem with drag is that it's all about pushing boundaries. Children need boundaries. They need adults who say "no," adults who say "this isn't for you right now."

Gay nightlife is literally past their bedtime. But, then again, gay nightlife is all about "getting that coin" and clearly there is money to be made.

And gay nightlife in general is struggling to stay afloat, thus club owners and promoters are needing to find new ways to garner attention.

by Anonymousreply 87January 20, 2019 6:35 PM

R87 thank White fraus for that. They just wanna stay in

by Anonymousreply 88January 20, 2019 6:36 PM

Childhood is so brief and fleeting treat them as kids they are not adults. Ma and Pa should let him dress up at home with other kids his age.

by Anonymousreply 89January 20, 2019 6:39 PM

No kidding. In my city, two gay bars shut down just last month, six months after a third shut its doors.

One of the biggest clubs remaining in the gay area caters almost exclusively to straights, university students in particular. The gays only go there on Pride week.

by Anonymousreply 90January 20, 2019 6:39 PM

Bars and clubs everywhere are closing so are shopping malls, people don’t want to leave their screen.

by Anonymousreply 91January 20, 2019 6:40 PM

R91 it’s scary. People don’t wanna go out. They wanna stay at home. Even in NYC nightlife is boring now.

LA is the only place recently that still has a good nightlife

by Anonymousreply 92January 20, 2019 6:44 PM

Pint-size drag queens bumping and grinding are the solution to declining gay nightlife? Insane!

by Anonymousreply 93January 20, 2019 6:46 PM

Desperate times, R93.

by Anonymousreply 94January 20, 2019 6:50 PM

Let’s start having those pint size Queens suck dick next to liven up night life!!!

by Anonymousreply 95January 20, 2019 6:52 PM

If it was a female child all tarted up like that, nobody would care, since girls are expected to perform "drag" our whole lives.

Oh, shut up JonBenét!

by Anonymousreply 97January 20, 2019 7:39 PM

Why many gay bars are closing?

by Anonymousreply 98January 20, 2019 7:44 PM

It's because of Violet's mangina. It must FEED on the souls and energy of nightclubs. It hungers for life, for power, so that it can one day escape its fleshy prison and ascend to challenge the Lord of Xothmore!

by Anonymousreply 99January 20, 2019 7:56 PM

isnt Violet a former porn star to boot?

how is this possibly ok?

by Anonymousreply 100January 20, 2019 10:35 PM

Desmond's parents are under investigation from children's services after being reported for letting him dance for dollars after-hours in Brooklyn. She also claims that all of his earnings are being placed into a trust fund. Despite the fact that she and his father are unemployed and panhandling online. (Insert your own "Sure, Jan" image here.)

by Anonymousreply 108January 21, 2019 6:46 PM

Are you suggesting his dad dressed him up like a girl and bounced him on his lap, while their Big Family Dog Bowsford loiters nearby?

by Anonymousreply 109January 22, 2019 2:57 AM

Wow, r104. I can't see how his parents feel it's worth this kind of aggravation for themselves, and worse, for the kid. He's the one who might be traumatized by all this as he becomes an adult.

[Quote]The family of an 11-year-old Brooklyn boy known internationally as one of the city’s most talked about drag queens continues to receive death threats, as well as investigatory visits from city social workers, weeks after writers for conservative and pro-life websites ignited a firestorm over his recent performance at a Williamsburg bar.

[Quote]Mom Wendy Napoles said haters of her son Desmond Napoles — who performs in drag as Desmond is Amazing — filed more than 150 complaints with the city’s Administration for Children’s Services after his December show at Meserole Street gay bar 3 Dollar Bill, which went viral when critics attacked the performance as exploitative “pedophilia” because Desmond wore a crop top while accepting cash from the crowd.

[Quote]Each of those complaints necessitates its own 60-day investigation, resulting in almost daily home visits from agency inspectors — some of whom arrive as late as 3 am, according to Napoles.

[Quote]“We’re prisoners in our own home,” she said. “They’ll come anytime.”
