Just seen Lucas Hedges's 'Boy Erased' and it is a better film than BB. I wonder why it didn't get nominations. A powerful account of a situation that affects young ppl in the LGBTQ community, with a solid plot, extremely good acting, no unevenness. It does what films are supposed to do, don't tell me show me. It 'shows' the story in a seamless way, no glitches and Lucas is superb, a conduit for the story.

Ignore the reviews R486, BE is a better film. Lucas: no gimmicks, no parading around looking awkward and silly in interviews, just pure acting. Lucas did his job and so did the rest of the cast. There was not a single person out of place and it was delivered in a more powerful way. While BB, is not as bad as some ppl on the this thread and previous ones put it, but it seems to me that after TC became more popular, maybe it was edited more to suit him. Carell's performance was not that nuanced, other characters were barely seen performance-wise.

I say BE makes its case and will be viewed in the future a lot more than other films in the same genre such as Chloe Grace Moretz's 'turkey'; but BB is forgettable.

R497 For me the mild interest comes in as a measureable stat to gage PR/promotional impact. For example, this week Timmy has been doing press all over Europe, and jumped over 100k followers in a week. It shows that people who see him want to see more of him.

In comparison, Lily has been doing press (not nearly as much or on the same level as Tim), had a movie premiere, a new magazine cover and spread, and didn’t even gain 1k followers. She gains a lot more when being papped with Tim.

I find the way the numbers move in relation to things happening way more interesting than total follower counts. Might be meaningless to some, but it does provide a measurable insight into the public’s reaction to someone.
