The DC Circuit is about to hear arguments in the sealed grand jury matter. They've sealed not only the courtroom, but the whole floor, so we've been moved away. Haven't recognized anyone going in earlier as being connected to Mueller's office, now we won't be able to see
Something big might be happening at DC Circuit today
by Anonymous | reply 93 | December 22, 2018 10:52 PM |
All of this could have been accomplished with a huge can of Raid. Trump and Pence and McConnell don’t deserve to live. None of them.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | December 14, 2018 3:43 PM |
@LouiseMensch is saying it's Mike Pence
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 14, 2018 3:45 PM |
@LouiseMensch is a diseased wench
Seriously she is not a good source for anything
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 14, 2018 3:47 PM |
I wonder if they would do for this for any other case besides one involving the traitors. What else could be this secretive?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 14, 2018 3:50 PM |
r3 I agree that Ms Mensch/Bagshawe is not a good source. I trust 70-85% of what six of her Twitter allies write (some of them post unsubstantiated sensationalism too, but with a better signal:noise ratio), but I haven't yet seen anything from her I'd believe. When I read about Louise Mensch it's because she's blocking people or posted something bizarre. She must have written something correct early on, once, and is milking that cow of glory as much as she can.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 14, 2018 3:54 PM |
Mensch's game was to make broad statements ("there are sealed indictments!") early on, the only one of which turned out to be true was her prediction that there were sealed indictments.
From that point on, she would start out a lot of her tweets with "as I said two weeks ago," then talk about that day's news. Because she tweeted vaguely and 400 times per day, it would be impossible to figure out if she really did predict such-and-such a news development two weeks earlier. The gullible believed her.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 14, 2018 4:00 PM |
LOL she's still doing it, I see. "I reported exclusively that you were under investigation *as a party* by the FBI for taking Russian money in April, 2017" she tweeted, and linked to a blog post she wrote where she claimed Orrin Hatch was about to become president.
Unbelievable that people bought into her crap. I do notice she gets a fraction of the likes and engagement she used to just a year ago, though.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 14, 2018 4:04 PM |
r6....Bullshit.....try reading "Mr. Putin, Lets play chess"...published BEFORE the Inauguration. ..she nailed all the shit about Guilliani and the NY FBI and Trump and his minions before anyone would go near it....and suddenly the media is talking about it....2 years later.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 14, 2018 4:04 PM |
BuzzFeed update from five minutes ago:
We're now allowed back on the floor where DC Circuit arguments were taking place, but the courtroom area is locked and no official confirmation yet that arguments are over. No spottings of note so far (your court press corps is spread out around the building and outside)
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 14, 2018 4:07 PM |
Everybody and their fucking dog knew about Giuliani before the [italic] election, [/italic] let alone before the inauguration. He admitted about 10 days before the election on a news show that the FBI told him about the Comey letter in advance, and that he told Trump's team.
And you are so fucked in the head if you think the media is only talking about this NOW, "two years later."
We're now allowed back on the floor where DC Circuit arguments were taking place, but the courtroom area is locked and no official confirmation yet that arguments are over.
So this is nothing? Thanks, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 14, 2018 4:11 PM |
Malcolm....go suck Jamalis cock...its what you do.....still upset that Mensch outed your buddy as working for Flynn and publicly called him out on it ?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 14, 2018 4:11 PM |
And that's a wrap, a court employee just walked out of the courtroom area and confirmed arguments on the sealed grand jury matter have ended. No sightings so far (there are ways for people to enter/exit the courthouse that are not public)

This needed a thread?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 14, 2018 4:16 PM |
We'll find out soon enough, R15.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 14, 2018 4:17 PM |
The verdict is already in, R16. The answer is No!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 14, 2018 4:17 PM |
The courtroom doors will be opened by Geraldo Rivera, and he will discover an empty Coca-Cola bottle.

I felt a momentary stirring in my loins. For that I'm grateful, OP. I'm so ready for something earth shatteringly crushing to befall Trump & co.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 14, 2018 4:24 PM |
I'm sure Abramson will soon post a 47-tweet thread addressing the subject, R21.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | December 14, 2018 4:24 PM |
Aw, for all my joshing I do find the topic interesting, OP. And I got some value out of it: I learned at least one DLer on this thread shares my distrust of a journalist who frequently tweets.
I'd be gratified and satisfied today if a few people came to a consensus on what this DC circuit hearing was about and wrote narratives based on hearsay and wishful thinking.

I would guess it isn't often an entire floor gets sealed.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 14, 2018 4:39 PM |
Locking down the entire floor can't be standard procedure.
I think you're on to something OP! Big news by end-of-day I hope.

I think we’re all anxious... I would love this to be something big, but I’m not sure about the precedent for shutting down a floor. I mean, what if it’s a Jolie/Pitt hearing? Or a Justin Bieber hearing? I’m at a loss, as you see. Is there anyone who has any real insight as to when they do this?

by Anonymous | reply 38 | December 14, 2018 5:16 PM |
Yeah whatever happened was considered very sensitive to block off an entire floor, we just have no idea what happened. OP was in the right in alerting people.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | December 14, 2018 5:16 PM |
they would not block off the floor for tax returns but thanks for the link, r36. That is something to keep an eye out for.

Loise Mensch is like one of those scam artists who claim they can predict the future, because they predicted that the sun would rise in the morning and it turned out to be true. She needs to do better than that to be considered credible.

Dad got a jury duty notice to appear for the federal grand jury in Alexandria, VA for right after the new year.
He's over 70, so he can get it excused, but he's going cause he's hoping to get in on the show. Hah.

Make him give you a full report!
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 14, 2018 5:30 PM |
To be honest I would love to do jury duty just to experience it first hand. People say it's boring, but you may win the jackpot and get called for an interesting case.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 14, 2018 5:31 PM |
R47, and then you can write a book about your experience and cash in!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 14, 2018 5:36 PM |

CNN saw Zainab Ahmad and Michael Dreeben return in car to SCO office shortly after mystery grand jury witness arguments wrapped.
Ahmad is a federal prosecutor on loan to SCO from NY. She normally focuses on prosecuting terrorists but has been overseeing the Flynn investigation.

by Anonymous | reply 76 | December 15, 2018 10:41 AM |
Would would have happen if Pence is asked to testify but sends a written note of him pleading the fifth for all questions he'd be asked in that interview (either before knowing the actual questions or after he receided the questions beforehand in written form)?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | December 15, 2018 11:31 AM |

I can't believe someone brought up the envelopes in this thread, too. Dvida, I suppose.
There are theories on Twitter that this was about Assange. Also, per documents filed, it looks like the court ruled for Mueller in whatever motion this was, so I assume that means we'll find out relatively quickly what this was about.

by Anonymous | reply 82 | December 19, 2018 4:52 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 83 | December 19, 2018 4:56 PM |
Mueller prevailed in asking for Corporation A's financial records. Corporation A is a business wholly owned by Country A.
The court set a $5k/day fine. Corporation A has a presence in the US.
It is Mueller following the money and getting Trump financial documents.
Money laundering?
by Anonymous | reply 84 | December 19, 2018 5:02 PM |
My guess:
Country A is Germany
Company A is Duetsche Bank
by Anonymous | reply 85 | December 19, 2018 5:03 PM |
It's the Gazprom stock deal that was allegedly discussed at the Trump Tower meeting with Manafort. Gazprom executives have ties to Carter Page and executives live in Trump Tower..
by Anonymous | reply 86 | December 19, 2018 5:06 PM |
We're talking about this over here too, for what it's worth.
Deutsche Bank is NOT owned by Germany, and people need to stop suggesting it as a possibility. It's privately owned. The company in question is owned by a country.
