Just speculating and reading between the lines from various interviews she's given, I get the feeling that Marci Miller had issues with the lack of rehearsal and prep time and the filming schedule brought on by the budget restrictions. She doesn't go into details, but has said that they just shoot scene after scene and don't really give the actors time to decompress between scenes. So she would have these intense scenes as Abigail and then run to makeup and hair and then come back and have to play intense scenes as Gabby. I guess that can be mentally draining on an actor.

It's different on movies where they film 2 pages a day or primetime where they have an entire week to film an episode.

Out of about 40 active characters on the show, half should have some sort of pet.

While oldChad was clearly more traditionally handsome with a blazing body, there was a reason he never really had a front burner storyline. He didn't have the acting chops for it. Not to say he doesn't have now, but at the time, he was basically supporting only, or B story.

NuChad can be sexy, partially because of his cockiness that comes through in his acting. And he was rewarded with front burner stories because he could handle them. That being said, the last few months, he's been very inconsistent in his acting, some days fully on, some days leaving me wondering if he bothered to look at the script. Part of me wondered if he was pissed because Tyler was brought on, taking screen time away from him and kind of making Tyler top Dimera dog.

As for the behind the scenes gossip - while i love it, I always take it with a bit of a grain of salt. But a lot of this rings true. I wondered why they were bringing back Manzi to 'finish up' Abigail's story, when they surely would have had notice that Marci was leaving at the end of her contract. Why write story well beyond her exit date and why not try and get Marci to extend? And why did Billy announce he was staying on (although he didn't explain for how long) only to have stories come out about four weeks later that he was leaving in October (so far, not officially announced as far as I know). And then Tyler was unexpectedly gone and temporarily replaced - but no official follow up on that either. It just seemed like some type of dust up happened and the fallout was still being felt weeks later with all the exits.

My issue with this version of Chad is that I think he's not good looking enough. I know that's shallow, but I see this Chad and think Alfred E. Neuman from Mad Magazine. Even though his eyes are striking.

He does this in your face kind of acting that sort of annoys me and it's like he's about to break into laughter in his scenes. It's a strange technique. And someone once posted on here that he changes lines which throws off his scene partners. It sounds like he's trying to be Tony Geary.

KM was good in parts, but there were times when it was OBVIOUS she wasn't Gabby. She couldn't pull off the sexy vamp role to save her life.

I didn't hate the DID story like some did and it really showed that MM could act. Manzi just makes Abigail seem like a bolder character and not so much the victim. And yes, she and Tyler had major chemistry. If they're still playing this story when Brandon Barash takes over, they are going to blow up the screen.

Marci Miller's stint as Abigail was a constant audition for the non-soap job she wanted next. She didn't employ a lot of the "tricks" daytime actors use to ingratiate themselves with viewers, which left a lot of the audience thinking her Abigail was too icy and remote. In that regard, she was very similar to Rosemary Forsyth, one of the actresses that once played her grandmother.

Manzi isn't anywhere near the actress Miller is but she knows how to play for the cheap seats.
