STARTED OFF ON THE TUFFSKINS WHEN I WAS A SCHOOLBOY. I REMEMBER WHEN MY JOHNSON GREW AND MOM TOLD ME I COULD NOT GO TO SCHOOL WEARING THOSE!! WE WENT TO GET SOME LEES. THEY RODE HIGH AND SHOWED MY NUTS. CAN'T WIN WHAT CAN I SAY I'VE ALWAYS BEEN HEALTHY. I DIDN'T WANT NO COMMIE HIPPY LEVIS. BACK TO SEARS FINALLY AND I STUCK THERE. I FIGURE I NEED 5 MORE AND THEY WILL LAST TIL THEY BURY ME IN MY ROEBUCK JEANS. TOUGH AS NAILS LIKE ME YOU COULD SAY.

When I was in elementary school a few decades ago, the retar– I mean "special" kids all wore Roebuck jeans, while the rest of us wore Levi's. Down syndrome, MS, just plain slow—it didn't matter. My mom said she thought that Sears must give some kind of discount to them.

I parted ways with Levi's the price of a pair of blue jeans touched $40 and the denim got thinner and thinner.
I left Hanes for the same reason -- cheapening the product year after year.
