In last version I've seen of Death on the Nile, Itv series with Emily Blunt and Jj feild, there were some sex scenes...there's hope!

I've heard that the wife doesn't like Armie to do sex scenes. Is that true? I hope not. I don't have a desire to see him getting it on in a film or anything like that really, but that still seems limiting for an actor

I really didn't like KB as Poirot,David Suchet owns the role and the TV version of "Death on the Nile was very well made.Jodie Comer was cast too?She reminds me of Elizabeth,very similar facial structure.Except she's younger,British and very talented.

Simon McCorkindale did the role in the 70s movie version and is somewhat reminiscent of Hammer, he had the kind of mix of charm and sneering arrogance.

In CMBYN, Armie’s non verbal acting was amazing. However, when he spoke....Oliver suddenly became a 50 year ago old frat dude.

I really disliked the play Straight White Men, but he was very good in it. I also enjoyed him in the otherwise lame Mirror, Mirror and Man From U.N.C.L.E. where he had fun with the characters. In the latter he was sexier than the impossibly smug Henry Cavill.

And in STBY he was teh best hahahaha. No pun intended.

I would love to see Gal and Armie on screen together. I think they would work very well. But I can picture Elizabeth putting a stop to it. If the thing about the sex scenes is true, then that really sucks. Liz needs to realize that she's taking away potential income from her family if she's making Armie turn down roles with kissing and sex scenes.

Yeah, I don't get these criticisms that his verbal acting is bad or what. Lots of people don't change their voices. It's not necessary for the character a large percentage of the time. Also don't agree that he is stiff. It's just that many characters he plays are very serious and not that emotional. There aren't as many opportunities in those kind of characters to be an acting showcase. But he was a lot of fun in Mirror Mirror. Great as a psycho in STBY, charismatic in SWM and great at showimg the subtle layers in CMBYN.

Final Portrait, Mine, Nocturnal Animals, Lone Ranger where he is the straight man to Johnny Depp, aren't characters that are supposed to wow you with their performance. I think given the right project Hammer does well.

Acting and who you are in real life are two different things. But I see no reason why his charismatic off screen persona couldn't translate onto the screen. I think he would excel in a comedy and a crappy rom com if that was your thing. I don't suspect his role in Death on the Nile to be an acting showcase either as the character is again one that won't offer a lot of layers. I always go into his (or any actors) film with a certain expectation so maybe that's why I haven't been disappointed with a lot of his performances. Your mileage may vary Iguess though.

Although December is a ways away and Focus Feature has time to push the film, there doesn't seem to be any heat surrounding On The Basis of Sex. Even with films that came out in December last year, there was anticipation like I,Tonya which benefited from playing festivals or The Post because of the Spielberg/Hanks/Streep combo, but there is nothing that the press has latched onto with this film.

Last year Focus only had The Darkest Hour and Phantom Thread to push, this year Boy Erased, OTBOS and Mary Queen of Scots. I think of the two, they'll put more money behind Boy Erased and Mary Queen of Scots. The documentary RGB is already in contention, it's going to dwarf OTBOS in voters' minds.

"On the Basis of Sex" will work because of the timing. There's a new resurgence of 'Women's Lib' with the #Metoo movement and calls for equal pay and equality in general across the board. And Armie is there at the centre of it all; he was with CMBYN, with STBY and now with his latest films. He's choosing carefully and they are all good projects.

It's not gonna win awards. Lets just hope it does modestly at the box office. Christmas usually benefits even the crappiest of movies.

Otherwise Armie needs to get thicker skin and prepare himself.

There is no heat in this movie. I predict less $2 million box office.

Looking at these side-by-side pics, one can tell Armie actually has a weak jawline and big chin (in some pics, he even look like he has a double chin). The stubble just hides these. His bff Timmy definitely has the better bone structure (prominent jawline, high cheekbones, perfect chin). Armie does have beautiful eyes though.

Armie is also 10 years older than Tim and has a tendency to gain weight, while Tim is stick thin. I like Armie with a little stubble though, even if it's there just to hide the double chin lol.

Surely he's not the caliber of actor who can get points on a movie's success. He's paid a rate and that's it. Considering the small budgets of both CMBYN and STBY, no he didn't make money. He even said that he couldn't follow through when he lost a bet with Luca. What Luca wanted was too pricey.

Young Jean Lee gave an interview where she specifically said his drive to improve his art is impressive, even comparing it to typical Asian immigrants drive to succeed in the US ( her experience). Boots was all praise about Armie's precision. Luca, well Luca is under his spell for many obvious reasons but also for his talent as an actor and even his directorial vein. The reviews of the play invariably noted he was very good. I believe he's serious about his work and he really loves it. Why else would he be bothered?
