Kav ain’t getting in

by Anonymousreply 3September 27, 2018 10:34 PM

5 MINUTES !

by Anonymousreply 4September 27, 2018 10:34 PM

Who IS that broad??

by Anonymousreply 5September 27, 2018 10:34 PM

FEAR OF FLYING !

by Anonymousreply 6September 27, 2018 10:35 PM

Now they are arguing about THE LETTER.

by Anonymousreply 7September 27, 2018 10:35 PM

R1... She looks like she smelled a stinky fart.. probably by Kav, with his unhinged nerves.

by Anonymousreply 9September 27, 2018 10:35 PM

Kamala!

by Anonymousreply 10September 27, 2018 10:35 PM

HERE WE GO !

by Anonymousreply 11September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

Harris now...

by Anonymousreply 12September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

Here comes Harris

by Anonymousreply 13September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

wtf has this to do with anything?

by Anonymousreply 14September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

This is like edging my cock for nine hours...only the release is a letdown.

by Anonymousreply 15September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

This is killing me. THIS is why women don’t come forward.

by Anonymousreply 16September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

HARRIS FOR THE KILL!

by Anonymousreply 17September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

The grimacing, the tightly drawn lips, the interruptions, the making faces, the passing notes, the fake doodling with the sharpie, and the inability to sit still, and the CONSTANT WATER DRINKING (what's he had now, about 6 liters?)

All indicative of a lying, evasive, substance abusing DICK.

by Anonymousreply 18September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

I am here for Harris

by Anonymousreply 19September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

BRING IT HOME, KAMALA!

by Anonymousreply 20September 27, 2018 10:36 PM

His blinking tic went into overdrive when he agreed to a polygraph test. He's so douchy.

by Anonymousreply 21September 27, 2018 10:37 PM

And I thought that the Kav part of this hearing would be shorter than the Ford part.

Wrong once again.

by Anonymousreply 22September 27, 2018 10:37 PM

Ask him to say YES OR NO!!

by Anonymousreply 23September 27, 2018 10:37 PM

Kamala: "So I'm gonna ask you one more time. And you better have the right answer muthafucka!"

by Anonymousreply 24September 27, 2018 10:37 PM

I hate both of my senators with the heat of a million suns.

by Anonymousreply 25September 27, 2018 10:38 PM

Damn, she can be a real bitch.

Glad she's on our side.

by Anonymousreply 26September 27, 2018 10:38 PM

She just did

by Anonymousreply 27September 27, 2018 10:38 PM

YES OR NO !!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 28September 27, 2018 10:38 PM

I'll take that as a no! And he didn't argue her conclusion.

by Anonymousreply 29September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

The Committee will approve him on party lines, that’s obvious. Probably tomorrow. What’s still up is what the full Senate does, and that’s down to Collins and Murkowski, and maybe Flake and Corker, and how they respond to this hearing, and the other 2 accusers.

by Anonymousreply 30September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

[quote]I hate both of my senators with the heat of a million suns.—Texan

So do we, hon.

by Anonymousreply 31September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

he looks so fucking uncomfortable. if he were clean he wouldnt be.

what's with the sniffing too.

by Anonymousreply 32September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

They need to say to Kavanaugh, unless you are willing to answer in the affirmative, they we have to consider your answer a no.

by Anonymousreply 33September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

She can be a bitch but she is all business and tough

by Anonymousreply 34September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

Now you know damned well that if it was someone else in HIS court purposely evading questions as he is doing today, he'd throw the whole fucking law library at them

by Anonymousreply 35September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

What does "ranking" mean in reference to Feinstein?

by Anonymousreply 36September 27, 2018 10:39 PM

Kav's not so smug and argumentive now, is he? She's got him rattled.

by Anonymousreply 37September 27, 2018 10:40 PM

Great question with the parallelism with Gorstch.

by Anonymousreply 38September 27, 2018 10:40 PM

We need more Kamalas

by Anonymousreply 39September 27, 2018 10:40 PM

What is Alyssa Milano doing in the audience?

by Anonymousreply 40September 27, 2018 10:40 PM

A friend said he was sobbing yet their were no tears. The only moisture on his face was sweat. Is this true?

by Anonymousreply 41September 27, 2018 10:40 PM

KAV IS WASTING DEM TIME NOW.

by Anonymousreply 42September 27, 2018 10:40 PM

She’s has seniority, R36.

by Anonymousreply 43September 27, 2018 10:41 PM

"ranking" means she is the top Democrat.

by Anonymousreply 44September 27, 2018 10:41 PM

She is the most senior member of the minority party.

by Anonymousreply 45September 27, 2018 10:41 PM

Here is fake Flake

by Anonymousreply 46September 27, 2018 10:41 PM

How well do you think Harris did? Anyone?

by Anonymousreply 47September 27, 2018 10:41 PM

Ms. Harris is up! Here it goes:

1. Have you taken a polygraph?

- They are not admissible.

2. All 3 of the women have made sworn allegations against you have called for FBI investigations. You've been asked 8 times if you'd authorize an FBI investigation. Each time you declined. I'm going to ask you one last time - will you ask the WH to have the FBI investigate you?

- I'll do what the committee wants.

2a. No, I heard you say that already. I am asking about the FBI bitch.

- The FBI would gather witness statements...

2b. I am not debating the FBI's process with you. Are you willing to ask the WH to do it - yes or no.

- I had 6 background investigations over many years.

2c. Are you willing to do it?

- The witness statements...

2d. Ok that's a no - moving on.

3. Neil Gorsuch was nominated by this president. You're both very similar, except for the charge of sexual assault. How do you claim there is a conspiracy against you when we let Gorsuch through

- Already explained in my opening statement.

4. Can men be friends with some women and treat other women badly?

- Of course, but the point I've been emphasizing is that if you go back to age 14 for me, you will find lots of people I've been friends with (women) who talked about my friendships with them and it's a consistent pattern. 65 women who knew me over 35 yrs ago signed a letter to support me because they know me. I've sent more women to the supreme court than anyone else.

5. Did you watch Dr. Ford's testimony?

- I did not. I plan to. I was preparing mine.

by Anonymousreply 48September 27, 2018 10:41 PM

Love to Kamala!!

by Anonymousreply 49September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

You were saying about that signed letter of support, Brett?

I love Kamala , kamala/beto 2020?

by Anonymousreply 52September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

Love Harris. The Kamala pose. “You lying piece of shit.” pose.

by Anonymousreply 53September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

Harris' face and demeanor spoke more than her mouth did - her look said it all "You're full of shit, Judge"

by Anonymousreply 54September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

She did OK in my view, but no KO.

by Anonymousreply 55September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

So Flake just laid the ground work for confirmation. We are all flawed.....

by Anonymousreply 56September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

Everytime I see Flake's face, I want to throw a hard right punch at his nose to straighten it out. Never more than right now.

by Anonymousreply 57September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

I think she did well, r47. It is perfectly clear that he does NOT want the FBI to investigate under any circumstances.

by Anonymousreply 58September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

She didn't do anything, R47. She just sat there at the end and made a bitch face while he went on.

by Anonymousreply 59September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

2nd R52.

by Anonymousreply 60September 27, 2018 10:42 PM

Oh the God card!

by Anonymousreply 61September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

Kennedy now.. trying to be meaningful and bringing up God.

by Anonymousreply 62September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

I demand Sen. John Kennedy change his name -- he does not deserve such a great name!

by Anonymousreply 63September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

Awwwkwarrrrd

by Anonymousreply 64September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

by Anonymousreply 65September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

by Anonymousreply 66September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

it's a yes or no !!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 67September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

Who’s the gal in OP's pic?

by Anonymousreply 68September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

She proved again he won't let the FBI anywhere near him.

by Anonymousreply 69September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

In United States politics, a ranking member is the most senior member of a congressional or state legislative committee from the minority party. On many committees the ranking minority member, along with the chairman, serve as ex officio members of all of the committee's subcommittees.

by Anonymousreply 70September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

I can hear Flake now, "I have examined my conscience and I cannot condemn my fellow Man."

by Anonymousreply 71September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

Now GOD gets brought into this.

by Anonymousreply 72September 27, 2018 10:43 PM

She pointed out the obvious that needed to pointed out: you can be friends with some women and treat others like shit.... just like you can be great with some kids, and molest others. Just because didn't rape or molest every person you came into contact with doesn't mean you didn't do it!

by Anonymousreply 73September 27, 2018 10:44 PM

So tired of God....as If you say that you believe, you are innocent. A man of faith never sins....fuck you!

by Anonymousreply 74September 27, 2018 10:44 PM

Politico is saying Trump is loving his angry defiance. They’re going to back him and he’s going to get through. Kamala was nothing spectacular. We really don’t have anyone. Christ, we are FUCKED if thisnis what we have to look forward to in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 75September 27, 2018 10:44 PM

Pandering to the evangelicals...

by Anonymousreply 76September 27, 2018 10:44 PM

God's embarrassed to be brought into this.

by Anonymousreply 77September 27, 2018 10:44 PM

I'm not sure which was Flake is going to go... This idea of doubt I think favours him voting against.

by Anonymousreply 78September 27, 2018 10:45 PM

There is no god. Only people that try to believe in god. WTF does believing in god have to do with anything?

by Anonymousreply 79September 27, 2018 10:45 PM

Maura Tierney doesn't look happy

by Anonymousreply 80September 27, 2018 10:45 PM

by Anonymousreply 87September 27, 2018 10:45 PM

I'd vote for Haney over Cruz.

by Anonymousreply 89September 27, 2018 10:46 PM

by Anonymousreply 90September 27, 2018 10:46 PM

by Anonymousreply 91September 27, 2018 10:46 PM

r87, it's over.

by Anonymousreply 92September 27, 2018 10:46 PM

Most people will only see clips of testimony from both. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

by Anonymousreply 93September 27, 2018 10:46 PM

What's the most painless way to end it all?

by Anonymousreply 94September 27, 2018 10:47 PM

I was waiting for Kennedy to Triple-dog dare him

by Anonymousreply 95September 27, 2018 10:47 PM

r84, I hope he does.

by Anonymousreply 96September 27, 2018 10:47 PM

So nothing changes, am I correct?

Repugs will vote him in, Dems will be angry, and we'll all continue to hate each other.

Protests, Protests, Protests.

Midterms will come along, one side will complain about voting interference, and we move on.

And fucking Dump is still in the WH.

by Anonymousreply 97September 27, 2018 10:47 PM

Just another day at the office for the repubs. He'll be confirmed in the morning.

by Anonymousreply 98September 27, 2018 10:47 PM

The only opinions that really matter are Senators Flake, Corker, Collin, Murkowski, and a few Democratic Senators in states Trump won who are up for re-election like Donnelly, Manchin, Testor.

by Anonymousreply 99September 27, 2018 10:47 PM

That God play will probably work.

by Anonymousreply 100September 27, 2018 10:47 PM

I hope that no matter what happens, Christine Ford is TIME's Person Of The Year.

by Anonymousreply 101September 27, 2018 10:48 PM

R100, because we live among idiots.

by Anonymousreply 102September 27, 2018 10:48 PM

I have heard Avenatti may file state charges. After this, please do it Avenatti,

by Anonymousreply 103September 27, 2018 10:48 PM

Durbin really stood out today. I can get behind Durbin 2020!!!

by Anonymousreply 104September 27, 2018 10:48 PM

Booker was the star

by Anonymousreply 105September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

Where Collins and Murkowski? What’s their staus?

by Anonymousreply 106September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

If Avenatti has any moves left, he’d better do it now!

by Anonymousreply 107September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him. His testimony was powerful, honest, and riveting. Democrats’ search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist. The Senate must vote!

5:46 PM - 27 Sep 2018

by Anonymousreply 108September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

Cornyn is saying the committee will meet and vote tomorrow because the longer they wait, the more allegations will come forward. WTF

by Anonymousreply 109September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

Flake totally gave his excuse as to why he will vote to confirm tomorrow. "We are all flawed and imperfect...."

by Anonymousreply 110September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

... but did he pinky swear... that's what really counts.

by Anonymousreply 111September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

Harris should've interrupted him.

by Anonymousreply 112September 27, 2018 10:49 PM

I just wanted to say that threatening violence just makes us look bad at this point, as does the casual racism on display. In fact, I don't believe it is because as a troll, I recognize other trolls and this thread is full of them.

The democrats are doing respectable, I'm glad they're not hysterical. If this country goes down, none of them can stop it anyway. History will at least remember who started the fall of the American Empire and it won't be us.

by Anonymousreply 113September 27, 2018 10:50 PM

Why if the committee is 21 members were there not 21 senators there?

by Anonymousreply 114September 27, 2018 10:50 PM

[Bold] AGAIN, blame all your family and friends for voting repub, not voting dem or not voting at all! THIS is THEIR FAULT!

by Anonymousreply 125September 27, 2018 10:54 PM

Interesting...

"Fox News host Chris Wallace said Thursday that two of his daughters revealed in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh that they endured previously undisclosed incidents when they were in high school.

"Wallace said his daughters brought up their experiences as the family was discussing the allegations against Kavanaugh over email.

"[They] hadn't told their parents, I don't know if they told their friends. Certainly had never reported it to police," Wallace said on Fox News during coverage of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Kavanaugh and one of his accusers, Christine Blasey Ford.

Why didn't they ask Kavanaugh if he thought Clinton had paid off Ford since he implied that Clinton was behind the whole thing - really, Pizzagate territory.

If he did watch her testimony, it can easily be proven with a photo.

If they can't provide a photo, it'll be more fodder to paint him as a leftwing target. He did stutter before answering if he watched.

by Anonymousreply 137September 27, 2018 10:58 PM

History repeating, R134? Our current national circumstances are rather similar to those of pre revolutionary France.

by Anonymousreply 138September 27, 2018 10:58 PM

by Anonymousreply 144September 27, 2018 11:00 PM

This is why cretins like Susan Sarandon and Bernie Bros and the lot have to be shunned in society. They're brain dead and don't understand what's at stake that these are lifetime positions. Republicans have always known this and that's why they vote in midterm elections.

by Anonymousreply 145September 27, 2018 11:01 PM

Just saying.

by Anonymousreply 149September 27, 2018 11:02 PM

Exactly some people are just too dumb to see the big picture when it comes to this sort of stuff r145. Complaining that Clinton wasn't the perfect candidate, there are no perfect candidates, there are two options of people who will wield immense power and have serious consequences.

If you didn't realize how important it was that the person was not Trump you are a fool, it was known he would have Supreme Court picks.

I can't wait for all the poor and middle class republicans to lose everything when the GOP begins their REAL goal. Not just Roe v Wade, gay marriage, etc (that's just so voters will continue to come out), but all the stuff that helps protect workers and the little people. They want their donors as rich as possible and that comes at the expense of the poor and middle class, and it'll be even easier going forward now that technology has progressed so far and yet our laws are so far behind.

I have a feeling it'll be a mashup of the Resistance and the Parkland students, especially if the Blue Wave hits this November.

by Anonymousreply 154September 27, 2018 11:05 PM

Dr. Ford was polite, answered each question she was asked, and just spoke her truth.

Judge Kavanaugh was combative, tried to avoid answering questions, and told several obvious lies (The Renate refereces were not sexual in nature! Devil's Triangle is a drinking game!).

It could not have been more night and day, and who came off more as a more credible person is obvious.

by Anonymousreply 155September 27, 2018 11:06 PM

This will reverberate on forever. Dems did a good job in a sticky situation.

It’s not dems fault if he gets confirmed. They gave it their best.

by Anonymousreply 156September 27, 2018 11:06 PM

Damn that was triggering and I've never been sexually assaulted. I'm going to smoke some pot and do some sweaty yoga to get rid of this foul mood, so I can pour myself a half bottle of red and watch Rachel in two hours.

by Anonymousreply 157September 27, 2018 11:06 PM

After watching the YouTube hallway feed, I have decided that the best place in America to do some great manwatching is the halls of Congress.

by Anonymousreply 158September 27, 2018 11:07 PM

Still not clear to me how this shakes out.

The longer this goes on, the less likely he gets confirmed.

by Anonymousreply 159September 27, 2018 11:07 PM

bullshit, r156.

by Anonymousreply 160September 27, 2018 11:07 PM

ok so what is devil's triangle really?

by Anonymousreply 161September 27, 2018 11:08 PM

R161 - mmf threesome.

by Anonymousreply 162September 27, 2018 11:09 PM

He showed his temper.

And his dishonesty.

by Anonymousreply 163September 27, 2018 11:10 PM

I have to tip my pimp hat to this real GANGBANGA!!!

by Anonymousreply 164September 27, 2018 11:11 PM

R139, I’ll hold your cig while you slit your wrists.

by Anonymousreply 165September 27, 2018 11:11 PM

Yes straight guys consider it the "bad" threesome because it has two guys rather than two girls.

There is not a drinking game called Devil's Triangle, I did get plenty black out in college and know my drinking games well.

by Anonymousreply 166September 27, 2018 11:11 PM

[quote]Still not clear to me how this shakes out.

There are really only two people who know how this shakes out. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Whether he gets confirmed rest in their hands.

by Anonymousreply 167September 27, 2018 11:13 PM

R159, it's going to shake out that Kav's confirmed and women will be more afraid than ever to report sexual assault. And Trump will still be president.

by Anonymousreply 168September 27, 2018 11:13 PM

Imagine if you came in for a job interview and sobbed and yelled and kept saying how much you liked beer

by Anonymousreply 169September 27, 2018 11:15 PM

Most of the YT psychics say he won't be confirmed but now I'm not sure.

by Anonymousreply 170September 27, 2018 11:15 PM

there's no convincing the deplorables sadly. I heard some of them speak today...

they think Ford isn't credible because she said hates flying but would fly on occasion for vacation

they think Ford isn't credible because she didn't get as emotional as Kavanaugh.

they think Kavanaugh is credible because he was passionate and angry

they think an FBI investigation would only "tear him apart and smear him further"

they think Ford isn't credible because she "waited almost 40 years" to speak publicly about this

and on and on and on

by Anonymousreply 171September 27, 2018 11:16 PM

CNN is reporting that there are still moderate Democrats that haven’t made up their minds yet.

by Anonymousreply 172September 27, 2018 11:16 PM

I just saw a short clip of Kavvy ranting about a "Little Lisa, who is so wise for a 10-year-old?"

What in the actual fuck just happened?

by Anonymousreply 173September 27, 2018 11:17 PM

r169 and ranted incoherently about your beautiful calendars for 40 minutes.

r170 seriously? psychics aren't real. And YT is not a news source. Pick up a text book sometime.

You can get away with that when you're a white, conservative male. In fact, you immediately get a raise.

by Anonymousreply 175September 27, 2018 11:17 PM

I didn't watch the hearings, the blatant lying was too much for me. Was K really belligerent, upset and shouting? That alone should be a disqualifying factor.

by Anonymousreply 176September 27, 2018 11:17 PM

Why does drooler and spitter Manu Raju still on CNN??

[quote]Now: Collins, Murkowski, Flake and Manchin are meeting. Can confirm.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 209September 27, 2018 11:35 PM

Absolutely. Kavanaugh is a prime candidate for blackmail and bribery. He has a severe drinking problem, money problems caused by gambling issues and has all these people from his high school and college years swearing that he also has anger and aggressive behavior problems, particularly against women, especially when he drinks. All his debts were mysteriously paid off when his name was placed on the Republicans wish list for the supreme court. He is being considered for a well paying, lifetime job with virtually no chance of being fired. All he has to do is promise to vote the way the republications in charge ask and he is set for life. I am sure there is an ongoing payment plan for him in exchange for his following the republican party wishes on all supreme court decisions. I am sure he was promised a quick approval for the supreme court seat and that all his dirty laundry would be hushed up and all evidence of it withheld from the information provided to the members of congress. It is a perfect solution to all his problems and Republicans can be sure of a puppet on the court who will always do their bidding as long as they protect him and keep paying him off. None of this was discussed. None

Or is he suggesting that Ford’s been victimized by Democrats through some kind of brain washing campaign? They just happened to find someone who hung out with him back in the day and did some kind of mind control voodoo on her?

Nope. Miss Lindsay’s bloomers are in a plug because poor Ford didn’t get her claims investigated fast enough. In other words, she’s telling the truth and has been let down by the process. It’s bizarre that no one has grilled Graham on this.

by Anonymousreply 286September 28, 2018 12:05 AM

[quote] In Kavanaugh's courtroom, would he believe the defense of someone who said, "But, Judge, that [crime] is not in my calendar. That proves I wasn't there."

It may not be hard evidence, but at least he could be substantiated if you include names. Keeping a calendar is actually a good idea if you intend to seek any position of power, especially today. It's amazing he had the foresight to do it back then.

[quote] We can play the numbers game, too. Kavanaugh can be impeached after the midterms. After formal charges have been brought against him in Maryland by Ford and others.

There would be no way he would be convicted without any evidence, even if Ford's testimony on its own is compelling.

WTF was Alyssa Millano doing there? She sent a tweet complaining about Repubs being on their phone even as she constantly brings attention to herself by taking video and pictures while the hearing is going on.

by Anonymousreply 287September 28, 2018 12:05 AM

Sep 27, 2018 at 11:01 am ET Kavanaugh Monitoring Hearing From Elsewhere Among those watching Dr. Ford’s testimony was Judge Kavanaugh, a committee aide said, from a monitor in another room in the Dirksen Senate Building, where he awaits the opportunity to tell his side of the story later today.

UPDATE: Judge Kavanaugh said during his hearing that he did not watch Dr. Ford's testimony. He said he had intended to but was preparing for his own testimony.

by Anonymousreply 305September 28, 2018 12:16 AM

Brett is quite the rager. The last time I saw a performance that over-wrought it started with the words, "And I am telling you I'm not going..."

by Anonymousreply 306September 28, 2018 12:18 AM

I'm sure his excuse will be I didn't WATCH it. I heard it.

And notice how once again he uses the good school boy routine:

I couldn't have possibly because I'm a good student who cares about being prepared!

by Anonymousreply 307September 28, 2018 12:18 AM

R293, he kept and retained calendars because he was raised in D.C. and was aware of the exhaustive security procedures for the government jobs he always intended to hold. He has, literally, been prepping for the Supreme Court since he was in high school. And the calendars are your proof.

by Anonymousreply 308September 28, 2018 12:20 AM

Go, R130. We didn't vote that fuck in. He was cheated in with Russian fucking help and the WH stopped the bill to fund election security in the wake of the attack. We don't want you here.

by Anonymousreply 309September 28, 2018 12:20 AM

I left work at 3:30 today for an appointment. I turned on the radio for a traffic report, and instead they had Brett Kavanaugh crying and weeping about what a fine outstanding lad he and his fellow boys' Catholic prep schools grads were and are.

I got news for this dirtball: I'm a boys' Catholic prep school grad as well. One of my classmates was tried and convicted of murdering a couple of people by car bombs back in the 80's. For all I know, he could still be in prison. Another classmate of mine's father was a pipefitters union president and was shot and killed while sitting at his desk in the union hall shortly after we graduated. I didn't know the father, but if he was anything like his asshole son, he got what was coming to him.

My point is if Kavanaugh thinks going to a boys' Catholic prep school ensures upstanding moral character and entitles him to a "get of a jail free" card, he is sorely mistaken.

Richard Blumenthal is the one who used the Latin legal term that states “if you believe the testimony was false in one area, it is logical to conclude the testimony is false is any/all other areas.” I don’t know the Latin term, but if I was nominated for the mother fucking SCOTUS I would — Kavanaugh of course could not recite the term nor its definition.

by Anonymousreply 323September 28, 2018 12:34 AM

Yeah I think normally the Oscars leads to 4 threads, so 5 for the hearing is impressive.

In South Carolina, Graham is known as an unacknowledged gay. He, as some other politicians in the state, get by with it by being in the closet. As long as they yap and vote right-wing, they get by with it.

Graham has his male, personal associations, but denies anything romantic. Remember, his Emails were hacked by Russians, though they were also giving money to his PAC. Trump knows something, and it appears it was revealed at the first golf outing. That is when Graham did the 180 and started aggressively attacking the DOJ/FBI and embracing and promoting everything Trump.

Assuming there's game-changing dirt on Graham, the wrong side has it. If the public knows what Trump knows, then........

Chris Hayes mentioned that Mitchell was just pointing out a summer event on the calendar with "PJ", Judge, and others when she was interrupted. Something that fit the attack.

The calendar actually contradicts him a few times, for example saying he was at Tobin's house on the same day he was drinking, when he testified he never did both on the same day.

And there is a July 1st date where he and PJ and Judge all hung out together, which Mitchell brought up. Seems to have agitated the Repugs.

by Anonymousreply 348September 28, 2018 12:56 AM

I should have turned the TV off instead of watching it all day long. God I am in a terrible mood. If something doesn’t happen soon we are going to have Trump and his mini Trump’s taking over everything.

The kids I went to school in the late 70s were always drinking and having parties. They had some real wild gatherings. My parents wouldn’t let me go unless they called the parents to see if they were going to be home. Needless to say I never went anywhere the fun was.

by Anonymousreply 349September 28, 2018 12:56 AM

Also, the WSJ reported that Kavanaugh was watching Ford's testimony, but he testified that he didn't watch it. The guy is just a constant liar.

by Anonymousreply 350September 28, 2018 12:57 AM

As we're all finding out today, R349, it wasn't 'fun' for everyone.

by Anonymousreply 351September 28, 2018 12:58 AM

Yep, based on his super-special calendar we actually have a date that fits r348. July 1st.

Ford named several of the names listed on the calendar at for brewskis before ever seeing the calendar.

by Anonymousreply 352September 28, 2018 12:59 AM

R367, he was indeed speaking to one person today -- Trump.

by Anonymousreply 371September 28, 2018 1:15 AM

Interesting: A source close to Senator Manchin tells me now, "Short of claims that definitively prove Dr. Ford's allegations or a realization that Kavanaugh will gut the healthcare law, Manchin will side with the overwhelming number of people in WV who want Kavanaugh confirmed."

Manchin likes Kavanaugh and has always wanted to find a way to support him."

Manchin, of course, left his meeting with Collins, Murkowski, and Flake saying he was unsure. But thought source's use of "definitively prove" was interesting.

I'm not convinced Manchin would vote yes, FWIW, if Collins and Murkowski decide to vote no.

Here's what I'm wondering: if Collins and Murkowski vote yes, are there other red state Dems who could be picked off?

So again... what was the post about the July 1 calendar entry?

by Anonymousreply 388September 28, 2018 1:22 AM

So Googling I found the Weekly Standard online, which is a Conservative magazine. But I loved this observation:

"At the end of the day, it’s no use lamenting the foolish choices that led us to this point because we can’t unmake them. The best we can do is try to figure out what incentive structure led people to make them in the first place, and then try to change it.

That’s a big question. And the most depressing possible answer is that this spectacle—like the spectacle of the Trump presidency—is merely a symptom of the larger disease.

It’s impossible to look at the Ford-Kavanaugh hearings and not see America as a nation in decline."

From a conservative magazine. Nearly fell over dead they'd say something like that.

by Anonymousreply 389September 28, 2018 1:22 AM

by Anonymousreply 390September 28, 2018 1:22 AM

I strongly suspect that if only one red state Democrat threatens to vote for Kavanaugh, Chuck Schumer will tell them that they can expect the least desirable committee assignments when the Democrats take over the Senate, when ever that is. If more than one red state Democrat decides to vote for Kavanaugh then there isn't much Schumer can really do.

With Machin though they have to be careful, he could easily just switch parties.

She took a lie detector test and passed, told her therapist 6 years ago and wants a FBI investigation. He does NOT want a FBI investigation. THAT is where this is at. He is clearly hiding it did happen.

by Anonymousreply 399September 28, 2018 1:27 AM

R388, Ford said that there were at least three boys/men at the party at which she was assaulted: Kavanaugh, Judge and a P.J. somebody. The July 1 calendar entry indicated that Kavanaugh had a meeting planned with Judge and P.J. It suggests that July 1 was the day that the assault occurred.

by Anonymousreply 413September 28, 2018 1:33 AM

I hope journalists still keep digging even if he's confirmed. You just know that what we've seen and heard so far is only the tip of the iceberg.

by Anonymousreply 414September 28, 2018 1:34 AM

They will all vote for Kavanaugh including Collins. It's a done deal and soon we'll see his ugly mug on the Supreme Court. Democratic Senators came across as weak and lame. I think it's time for some new blood in the Senate. I just hope Kavanaugh's elevation to the Court is followed with one ugly story after another about him. He's a real POS.

Why are Democrats allowing Republicans to determine how their senators vote on this? Democrats in WV need to get organized ASAP and let Manchin know they won’t come out and vote for him if he votes to confirm. Then Manchin can try to win with only Republicans and Independents. Republicans are so much better at politics. Ffs they got the POTUS and the Gov of Alabama to endorse a child molester for the senate and we can’t get our guy to vote against a sexual predator?

If he told the truth about the assault, he would be admitting to a crime. Everything would stop there.

If he pled the Fifth, again, everything would stop right there. And a criminal investigation into the assault would commence almost immediately.

If he said he did not assault her, he would be committing perjury. Also a crime. But it allowed him to kick the can a bit further, at least as far as the committee vote.

If a proper law enforcement investigation is commenced, he'll be in enough trouble that the feds won't even bother with the perjury problem, other to remove him from the federal court. And the Bar association might relieve him of his law license. His best choice was to lie in front of the entire nation.

An observation from Jennifer Rubin, WaPo's resident conservative columnist (who I've seen referred to hear as crazed but I find her fairly sensible... at a minimum she doesn't think much of the current Republican Party.). Anyway she wrote this and I bet a lot of women will feel this now:

"The shouting didn’t end with his opening statement. He barked at the ranking Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). Then the Republicans got into the screaming act, pushing their outside lawyer Rachel Mitchell aside in favor of histrionics from Sens. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) and John Cornyn (R-Tex.). If President Trump loved the nasty, male grievance game, the rest of us had reason to wonder if anyone of this temperament — Cornyn, Graham or Kavanaugh — should be in a position of power. If they were women, they would be called “hysterical.”

I heard the first house vote is Saturday. If there's to be marches, it needs to be soon.

Had they left Ms Mitchell in all day to ask the questions, it wouldn't have turned into a battleground. L Graham was appalling and his demeanor was unacceptable. The Republicans change the rules at a whim. What a terrible group of people.

Committee vote tomorrow

Floor vote Saturday

by Anonymousreply 519September 28, 2018 2:23 AM

It is crazy how divided we are as a nation. Your perception of Lindsey Graham's behavior is POLAR opposite depending on your political leanings. There is no common ground there.

All the little trumpie trolls are where? Watching football?

by Anonymousreply 521September 28, 2018 2:24 AM

Maybe it's because I live in OK, but senator Lankford, who actually was publicly unsure whether he'd vote to confirm BK, released a statement and all but said he would vote to confirm him. There are lots of comments on his FB post, but most of the WOMEN are applauding him, or still urging him to confirm BK.

by Anonymousreply 522September 28, 2018 2:24 AM

Is the FBI the only way to investigate? Couldn’t the Dems hire a a good P.I. Firm?

I live in Oklahoma as well. And you know how them "stand by your man" Baptist bitches are around here.

by Anonymousreply 525September 28, 2018 2:27 AM

It's a lopsided division r520. The majority of us out here don't support the racist, misogynistic, shameful grasping dreck the Repubs bring to the table. The deplorables are in the minority - a vocal active minority granted, but still.

I used to go to church camp at Falls Creek when Lankford was still the director, r524. I honestly, deep down believed he may vote no.

Kavanaugh is being hailed as a hero by deplorables on social media. They liked his combative, screaming, accusatory and hostile performance today

by Anonymousreply 530September 28, 2018 2:29 AM

Not linking to it, and not that it'll change anything, but Fox News posted an editorial from Alan Dershowitz calling for an FBI investigation before the vote.

by Anonymousreply 531September 28, 2018 2:30 AM

"Absolute malpractice that not a single Democratic senator has asked Kavanaugh if he colluded with Whelan on his evil twin theory."

by Anonymousreply 532September 28, 2018 2:31 AM

[quote]It is crazy how divided we are as a nation. Your perception of Lindsey Graham's behavior is POLAR opposite depending on your political leanings. There is no common ground there.

Except we're not divided by right and left, we're divided by basic human decency vs. none. Trump supporters have no decency whatsoever. They accuse the left of every fucking thing they themselves have done. To listen to that self-loathing shithead get all apoplectic and act like this is the worst thing he'd ever seen considering the shit he himself has been a part of, is disgusting beyond belief. These people are fucking hypocrites on a psychotic scale and they can't accept it.

Republicans are horrible people. You won't find one good thing about them.

by Anonymousreply 537September 28, 2018 2:34 AM

Ha I was a good kid, no sex for me, I couldn't even get someone to go with me on a ICEE date, r534. But yeah, a guy who raped a girl at Falls Creek was basically let go free, with not much more than a slap on the wrist not too long ago.

by Anonymousreply 538September 28, 2018 2:35 AM

Wouldn't you think the Republicans would want someone who isn't a liability like Kavanaugh? People like Kavanaugh don't just do this shit once. I'm sure there are more women. What happens when Kavanaugh gets onto the SCOTUS and we have a Dem Senate or Dem president? Aren't Republicans scared more serious allegations against him could possibly force him from the court. Then, if we do have a Dem Senate or president, the Republicans are screwed. They just lost a SCOTUS seat. You'd think they would want someone who they know wouldn't cause potential issues down the line.

by Anonymousreply 539September 28, 2018 2:36 AM

[quote]a guy who raped a girl at Falls Creek was basically let go free, with not much more than a slap on the wrist not too long ago.

Yeah, now let's revisit that question about why so many don't immediately report it when they're attacked.

by Anonymousreply 540September 28, 2018 2:36 AM

R540 or why some choose to talk about such incidents on social media rather than dealing with the court system.

by Anonymousreply 541September 28, 2018 2:38 AM

[quote]Wouldn't you think the Republicans would want someone who isn't a liability like Kavanaugh?

Yes, but I assume they know they've passed the point of no return. There isn't time to get it done before the mid terms and they don't want to risk not stacking the court. So the bad pick was protected.

by Anonymousreply 542September 28, 2018 2:38 AM

Saturday’s vote is a vote to bring to the floor. It’s not a final vote.

But it is that last chance to shave the women senators.

If they’re going to object, it will be over process and that will be there chance.

It’s basiclaly a repeat of the healthcare vote with no John McCain to sink it.

by Anonymousreply 543September 28, 2018 2:39 AM

THEIR

by Anonymousreply 544September 28, 2018 2:40 AM

Yep r542.

1) They don't want to feel like they "lost" to the Dems, they think their base will be very pissed off at them

2) We have an election coming up, where it is not impossible they could lose control of the Senate. They want to get someone confirmed before the election, so the clock is ticking.

That is why they are committed to sticking with Kavanaugh.

by Anonymousreply 545September 28, 2018 2:40 AM

So when is the final final vote?

by Anonymousreply 546September 28, 2018 2:41 AM

Friday is the committee vote and then the final vote will be Saturday. That was their plan, and I think they intend to stick to it.

by Anonymousreply 547September 28, 2018 2:42 AM

many of them have no doubt that Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose etc are guilty too

Al Franken? duh!

but don't you DARE accuse any repub of something like that. Trump, Roy Moore, Kavanaugh-it's all a left wing conspiracy and the women are lying!!!!!

That's all the courageous Collins will need.

by Anonymousreply 559September 28, 2018 2:49 AM

R547 is wrong

Saturday is not the final vote. with all the fake news out there... get your information straight.

You have to have a vote in the committee and a procedure vote first. Fri/Sat

Final vote will be next week

by Anonymousreply 560September 28, 2018 2:50 AM

I think r555 was referring to the fact that she came forward and bared her soul to the Senate...and it didn't seem to make a difference to the GOP r557.

Can't feel good.

by Anonymousreply 561September 28, 2018 2:51 AM

No, R550, it's even worse with some of them. Many times, they do believe it happened and they think it's no big deal when it's an "R" and they only care when a "D" does it because of politics, not out of genuine concern for the victims.

Like that Trump supporter mother who said it's no big deal if a man gropes you - to her friggin daughters standing right there.

Many of them are immoral, low-life trash who imagine that their family is like a Hummel figurine come to life, but in reality, they're lecherous, sinful scum who think women (and non-whites) should be treated like garbage.

They're so delusional when it comes to who and what they are, that's why they see the Trump family as perfect and the Obama family as ghetto. No decent person could ever think like that - low-life trash with no self-respect think like that.

by Anonymousreply 562September 28, 2018 2:51 AM

You are right r560, I looked at it wrong

by Anonymousreply 564September 28, 2018 2:53 AM

I just don't understand the women out there who support Kavanaugh and think he's more believable than Ford. They keep saying that it would be easy to accuse a man of anything and he wouldn't be able to fully defend his reputation. Even when you tell them based on stats, over 90% of accusers are truthful, they don't care

by Anonymousreply 571September 28, 2018 2:57 AM

Wait, R559, what?

by Anonymousreply 572September 28, 2018 2:57 AM

R539, there are 3 women now who could file complaints in Maryland, where there is no statute of limitations. What happens if a sitting SCOTUS Justice is indicted for sex crimes?

by Anonymousreply 573September 28, 2018 2:58 AM

Tom Steyer needs to whip up some new commercials featuring Brett's angry faces, his tongue probing his own cheeks, and his reflexive water drinking while telling simple lies and buy out all the expensive ad time on Fox this weekend.
