Okay so I watched the movie. I get the mixed reviews cause this could have been such a better film. So many memorable elements were there, but the movie fucks up little things that are crucial. You don't want your audience to be disconnected from the film for the first 10 minutes ffs. Steve Carrel is a great human being but his dramatic acting isn't consistent, sometimes he delivers nicely other times you just cringe. Timothee's performance is great. Like believe the Oscar buzz (hopefully he doesn't win though cause he deserves to win for a better movie) The soundtrack is like Steve, very inconsistent. They fucked up the editing too. The movie is still powerful and totally worth the watch though.

Boy Erased has an average rating of 8.1 on RT whereas Ben is Back has an average rating of 6 (actually below Beautiful Boy's current rating of 6.1 although they're obviously currently changing all the time).

BlacKKKlansman is all about Lee though, it's not about the performances. It totally seems to me like a film that does well without acting noms and they do happen. Driver doesn't campaign and he doesn't have the reviews to overcome that.

Pryce is in a no1curr film that premiered a year ago and the studio are focusing on Glenn, which is the smart thing to do.

Rockwell is said to have a scene stealing role, has afterglow and his film will likely be a big player. I think he's in.

Jordan actually probably has the second best reviews in the category after Timmy. Not saying I agree with it but he has the reviews, his film will probably be a BP nominee, he's considered somewhat overdue and so forth.

He doesn't just compliment every performance he sees on Twitter. For him to do so here means he was specifically impressed. And his mom was/is an addict so this is a subject close to his heart. Absolute compliment for Timmy that he got it right in the eyes of someone so close to it.

Little Women is a great career choice. It's good to choose some safe projects, this is pretty much destined to be critically acclaimed and a huge hit. Taking risks like The King and Dune is all well and good but too many flops (critically or commercially) in a row can ruin a career. Plus he gets to work again with Greta who he clearly loves and trusts and Saoirse who he says he talks to all the time. These people that knew him before he was big but are still in the Hollywood world are the ones that will help to keep him grounded. And if he's going to take a supporting role, better to do so in projects like this and Lady Bird where he is standing aside for strong female stories than to stand in the background while another white male 20 something takes the lead.

I think it makes more sense the other way around. Timmy could have ANYONE that it kind of is weird to me that he'd be so into Armie (/Elizabeth).
