Having watched practically everything with him, I can say that he is good only in roles of sensitive introverts. That is a limited range for a talented actor as people see him.

I love Denis Villenueve's work. I consider myself a fan, but I did not like "Blade Runner" at all. I fear his take on Dune will be another self-indulgent, turgid, albeit beautifully directed, bore. I much prefer his more character based work like Prisoners and Enemies, even Arrival to a degree.

But very excited that Timothee are working with great directors, just wish the work was on the same personal levels as Beautiful Boy, Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name.

Well, I loved Blade Runner and I loved the Dune books and Villenueve is one of my favorite directors. I'm sure most people are incredibly pumped for this already.

When you get an STD, both you and your partner have to take a course of antibiotics to get rid of it. She probably told him she had it and he was the one who infected her, so he needed to get a prescription. He never did. Or he DID get treated and was infected again by some other ho. A large part of the budget is Stars salaries. So you can see in some of these indie films like CMBYN actors take a big pay cut. Directors and producers will cut back end deals for % of ticket and streaming sell or Capitol for future films to sign on for little money. BB has a few big name actors but this is the directors 1st English film so he was pretty cheap. 25mill is a good budget.

Steve is the only big name , while the actresses playing his moms are realatively well known but not so much that they would demand massive salaries (and obvs not Timmy because he was mostly an unknown when he signed on) . The budget is way too high especially when some of the people at the screenings said it didn't have a good 'look'

Many agree that Chalamet could be a lone nomination for that movie ( definitely not winning anything) and maybe Adapted Screenplay? Dunno. R365 It has always been a troubled production ( part because it’s the director’s first movie in English) and had many post-production editings. I mean, test screenings for this movie have begun since January and every single one of them has turned out to be different. It happens. The last screening, if I’m not wrong, was at the end of June or the beginning of July. This time they wanted a specific demographic for it so the age range was 16/20ish (of course for marketing purposes) because as I said in other posts this guy’s fanbase right now is that and more than half of it is girls in their teens/early 20s. So, again, not much diversity there. Anyway, personally I’m expecting mixed reviews. And, even in the worst case scenario where the movie flops hard, he’s still “saved” by his next project LW. With such a cast that one can’t go down hill so quickly even if the story has been done ad nauseam. People still like that. IF King and Dune go down the drill as well, then and only then he needs to change tactic. But, with King I can’t see it, just look at the cast, most of it is made of young actors with a good amount of following. Dune is a hit or a miss with V. Of course, the director’s name will give him points for his CV but it’s still a risk he took.

Having caught up with the Timmy Armie lovefest at tiff I can only conclude that they have trolled the fans! Good for them.
