I Prefer Pence

He is weak sauce. He was on the ropes and declared a “RINO” by deplorables. He will be much easier to defeat. He doesn’t inspire the same blind loyalty.

Conservatives were ready to flush him in 2016. (Linked)

Let’s make this happen.

The Federalist (a right-wing rag) declared him a fraud in 2016. They were done with him.

Not linking to that cesspool but it proves he is weak and his supporters are fractured.

It would be much better to have him in the WH.

In 2015, Pence initially signed a Religious Freedom Restoration Act, or RFRA. He then backpedaled on language that critics feared could be discriminatory against gay people, but that some evangelicals felt was essential to defending religious freedom.

Social conservatives saw the move as a disappointment at best, and at worst, a betrayal—and some are still smarting over it.

“The reason why conservatives are not going to be moved that much by this choice is because Mike Pence, when he had an opportunity to stand up for religious liberty, to mark himself in history, he didn’t do that,” said South Carolina-based Pastor Mike Gonzalez, who led evangelical outreach for Cruz in the state. He went on to add, “I’d never thought that of Mike, but when it came down to it, he crumbled under pressure. That, for many evangelical conservatives, has been something that is a red flag.”

Be careful what you wish for or you might be stuck with pence for a long time.

by Anonymousreply 3August 24, 2018 10:36 PM

He doesn't inspire a cult following like Cinnamon Hitler, but all the same we can't underestimate him or his followers.

by Anonymousreply 4August 24, 2018 10:36 PM

Come on America, it’s Pence’s turn to rise and then rapidly fall. That’s why republican way.

by Anonymousreply 5August 24, 2018 10:36 PM

At least he is mortal.

by Anonymousreply 6August 24, 2018 10:37 PM

I don't trust him. He's sneaky. He has tricks up his sleeve.

by Anonymousreply 7August 24, 2018 10:39 PM

Bizarre thing, OP....

I should have done a poll.

by Anonymousreply 9August 24, 2018 10:45 PM

Nope. Hand picked by ratfucker Manafort for the Kochs.

by Anonymousreply 10August 24, 2018 10:45 PM

Yaaaaaawn.

by Anonymousreply 11August 24, 2018 10:56 PM

He doesn’t scare me one bit.

by Anonymousreply 12August 24, 2018 11:11 PM

Pence is a shit weasel. He's toast just like the orange Don. Trump is on the edge and things are getting hotter and uglier by the day. Maybe even by the minute. Squirrel Brain and the minions are done for. Sad!! SHS , Kellyanne , Miz Graham, Trudy G. and the Don are all looking worse and worse-the stress and strain is evident in their faces. Huckabee looks worse than usual and Kellyanne is losing clumps of hair every time she combs it.

Tony Scwartz who wrote Art of the Deal says Trump will resign. Maybe before the mid terms. He'll give some excuse like health or something and poof! May take some time but there is no stopping the inevitable.

by Anonymousreply 13August 24, 2018 11:12 PM

I don't prefer him at all. He is just another mess Trump's presidency has created.

by Anonymousreply 14August 24, 2018 11:17 PM

Good point.

by Anonymousreply 15August 24, 2018 11:21 PM

If Pence was an honest, trustworthy, decent person with good leadership skills and ability Trump would never have picked him for VP. And he would not have wanted anything to do with Trump. At all.

by Anonymousreply 16August 24, 2018 11:23 PM

R4 thank you for: Cinnamon Hitler. I've exhausted the other epithets.

by Anonymousreply 17August 24, 2018 11:30 PM

The epithet banks is low, understandable

by Anonymousreply 18August 24, 2018 11:32 PM

He’s a piece of shit, of course. I wouldn’t underestimate him though. He did very well from a technical standpoint in his debates with goofy Tim Keane. Wingers will fall in line behind him. They always do.

by Anonymousreply 19August 24, 2018 11:44 PM

Pence is not a billionaire. He needs the job and can be controlled. He knows every single move he makes will be magnified 100X. He doesn't think he's King.

by Anonymousreply 20August 24, 2018 11:48 PM

Agreed.

by Anonymousreply 21August 24, 2018 11:56 PM

[quote] He will be much easier to defeat

Where have we heard that before.

by Anonymousreply 22August 25, 2018 12:00 AM

He's like a cross between a shark and Odo from Star Trek DS9

by Anonymousreply 23August 25, 2018 12:02 AM

He couldn’t even get re-elected in Indiana.

Ooooo, so scary.

by Anonymousreply 24August 25, 2018 12:04 AM

Did he back pedal because he was afraid of being outed? He and Miss Lindsay, honestly. GET EM, GIRLS.

by Anonymousreply 25August 25, 2018 12:05 AM

I prefer the amazing 1970s rocker chick, singer Lydia Pense!

Trump didn't pick pence. The RNC chose pence for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 27August 25, 2018 12:15 AM

We'll see about Pence. I'd like to see him go and get the Speaker of the House after the November election.

Trump doesn't cooperate with the GOP, he does his own thing. They have let him get away with it, because they want to get away with stuff as well. I fear with Pence as President, there will be a Republican assembly line for graft and disenfranchisement. A Democratic majority in the House would help, but the Senate approves judges and executive appointments. McConnell would just tell Pence what they needed. Pence would appear to behave and they would just grind out the republican agenda.

Trump clearly has to go, but I think Pence, if he stays, needs to be constantly monitored and threatened if he even looks like he's getting up to something. Don't forget, Nixon's first VP, Spiro Agnew, was forced to resign after he pleaded guilty to a tax evasion charge. But Trump needs to go first. We don't need him getting a VP pick.

by Anonymousreply 28August 25, 2018 12:16 AM

R27 Oh right. I forgot about that. Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 29August 25, 2018 12:19 AM

R24, he became governor in 2013 and became VP in 2017.

by Anonymousreply 30August 25, 2018 12:22 AM

Have we forgotten how anti GAY Pence is, GAYS?

by Anonymousreply 31August 25, 2018 12:23 AM

[quote] Pence, if he stays, needs to be constantly monitored and threatened if he even looks like he's getting up to something.

Uh, what?

by Anonymousreply 32August 25, 2018 12:24 AM

R32, if Trump is impeached, Pence as VP becomes President. This country has put up with way too much crap from Trump. He broke the law before he was elected, he broke it with his business dealings as he was inaugurated and has just kept breaking laws left and right. If Pence is President, he and McConnell will try to pull all kinds of shit. I'm saying if he becomes President, he needs to be impeached or forced to resign at the first infraction.

And, BTW, if he can stay as VP until January 2019, he can actually run for his own 2 Presidential terms beyond finishing Trump's term.

by Anonymousreply 33August 25, 2018 12:39 AM

Pence wants a theocracy. He thinks God wants him to be president. The reason he puts up with trump's un-christlike behaviour has something to do with a bible story that's popular now with the Calvinist set.

I'm confused, if Trump's presidency is proven to have been a result of Russian hacking, aren't all his cabinet picks completely invalid? Would they all have to go? Not just Trump?

How would Pence be able to become president, especially if the entire group of people under Trump were picked by a fake puppet president?
