Bizarre thing on Pence in The Mail - they're already after him

Get a load of this!

[quote] Pence also got funding from one health care firm– that sold products like an ointment called Boudroux's Butt Paste and Encare, a spermicidal suppository.

So glad he's becoming a target. He's horrible.

by Anonymousreply 12August 24, 2018 10:16 PM

DM is such a rag. They are probably getting ahead of a an expose story by a credible paper

by Anonymousreply 13August 24, 2018 10:18 PM

Boudroux’s Butt Paste is a diaper rash cream for babies, R11, but spermicide certainly wouldn’t mesh with Pence’s anti-choice beliefs.

by Anonymousreply 14August 24, 2018 10:19 PM

It's more about the innuendo they're putting forward, R14.

by Anonymousreply 15August 24, 2018 10:20 PM

Mother, have you packed my butt paste?

by Anonymousreply 31August 25, 2018 8:05 AM

This is bizarre. The Daily Hatemail is a (bordering on far-)rightwing gossip paper. It's Fox News in print. They would love Trump and Pence to come and "Make Britain Great Again". If they're doing a hatchet job on their idol, there must be something significant about to happen.

by Anonymousreply 32August 25, 2018 8:13 AM

Jesus H.! I had no idea. I'd rather have Trump forever than this guy.

by Anonymousreply 33August 25, 2018 9:17 AM

Yes, the article is strange especially for The Daily Mail - such a direct attack on one of their guys and written by a gay guy. It's probably an oversight.

I've been thinking about this some more. Pence as President would be like a daily sitcom.

I think this is a broadside from Trump's handlers - warning Pence not to start any plotting. There's a good bitchy quote saying Pence reads nothing but the Bible. Nothing else at all.

[quote]"Producing a biography of a living, controversial politician is always difficult. D'Antonio and Eisner have succeeded in this well-documented, damning book. Cue the outrage from Sean Hannity et al." ―Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

by Anonymousreply 41August 25, 2018 9:47 AM

He is a sick sick man. Equally as bad as Trump just in a different way. Omarosa said in an interview last week that she rode once on Air Force 2 with him. And his entire staff during the plane ride referred to him as "President Pence." For real. As opposed to "Vice-President Pence" which is how they speak and refer to him everywhere else. (Wowie.) She said she thought to herself--"Does he realize that I am actually here too?" The great thing is that she must have this all on tape. Which is pretty hilarious. He is just as dangerous as Trump in an entirely different way. Bad news.

by Anonymousreply 42August 25, 2018 11:11 AM

I think Pence is unhinged in that special rural Indiana way. The Ku Klux Klan was having conferences and meetings out in public, putting their gatherings on the Holiday Inn's marquee in Indiana as recently as the 70's. It's a scary place and Pence is pure Indiana. In fact, he's the kind of guy who goes to Missouri or Kansas for a vacation. Branson was the highlight of Mother's life!!!!

He is not the person I want in the Oval Office. IMO the most likely thing to happen is that the Dems will take the House and make a few gains in the Senate. They will do everything in their power to block Trump and override his vetos. He will be crippled in the way they had hoped to cripple Obama. That is the most likely scenario. To block him for two years and then defeat him.

I want impeachment and prison. All of us want to see them go down. But Trump can be charged with crimes once he is out of office and loses his ability to pardon. And no Democratic President will pardon him. So like the old Mafia Dons of old, if we are forced to wait for our revenge we will get it. But no way do I want a Pence Presidency. Let him fade back into the shadows like the cipher he is.

by Anonymousreply 43August 25, 2018 12:31 PM

I think the DM is starting to hedge their bets. They are a right-wing tabloid but also support the establishment, something that Cinnamon Hitler clearly isn't. I'm seeing more anti trump articles along side their usual race baiting, kardashian, royalist propaganda

by Anonymousreply 44August 25, 2018 4:49 PM

Most of you that trump gone will be struck with pence. Be careful of what you wished for because it might happen. Pence will be the first theologian president not bad.

by Anonymousreply 45August 25, 2018 6:24 PM

Pence is not a theologian. Pence is a religious illiterate who adheres (at least publicly) to mealy-mouthed tropes and aphorisms without understanding of the underlying meaning. That's much worse.

Still, probably not *quite* as bad as Trump. In the sense that having one testicle crushed in a vice is not *quite* as bad as having both testicles crushed.

by Anonymousreply 46August 25, 2018 6:39 PM

Trump as President rallies the Democratic base. Pence, not so much. Lazy Dems won't go out to vote if Pence is on the ballot

by Anonymousreply 47August 25, 2018 7:00 PM

I think the most telling indicator of Pence's hypocrisy (and right wing Christian hypocrisy) is the part about Mother's fertility treatments that required fertilization of eggs outside of the body and implantation, the method by which all three of their children were conceived. It takes the loss of a number of fertilized eggs before one implants. It is the loss of a potential human life that right to lifers abhor, unless it suits their needs. I posed the question, respectfully, in the DM comments and, of course, some bemoaned that I wasn't aborted or said that even my life was valuable.

And I didn't know that Mother was a divorced Catholic at the time they met at the Catholic Church they both attended (she played guitar on Sundays). If she didn't get an annulment, they are both adulterers in the eye of the Church. So they both traipsed off to some other church.

by Anonymousreply 48August 25, 2018 7:17 PM

IVF for Pence il dick? couldn't get his rocks off inside mother is my guess, even with the Searrs catalog open to the mens underwear section.

by Anonymousreply 49August 25, 2018 7:36 PM

Once President all of his craziness would come to the fore. He'd be the laughing stock of the world. The only thing that could save him to sit out the two years is if he had people to speak for him and tell him what to say.

by Anonymousreply 50August 25, 2018 8:04 PM

We will love president Pence !

by Anonymousreply 53August 25, 2018 8:42 PM

quirk of DL, R53

by Anonymousreply 54August 25, 2018 8:43 PM

It's like that for all DM articles. I thought it was an issue on the part of the DM. Once in a blue moon it actually links to the article. I think they want to push their obnoxious TV component. The autoplay pops up a number of times in each article despite closing it every single time.

Here's another favorite part:

Expecting she would marry Pence, she bought a small gold cross and had it engraved with the word 'Yes'.

She carried it in her purse.

He bought a ring and hid it inside a loaf of bread he would carry on walks together to feed ducks.

The big moment arrived. He pulled out the ring and she gave him the cross.

by Anonymousreply 55August 25, 2018 8:46 PM

R43 You are completely right about Pence and the rural Indiana thing. And I say this as someone who grew up and lived until I graduated from High School in rural Indiana. I still have close family in rural Indiana. I grew up an hour away from the origin and headquarters of the KKK. Yes. Horrific. Indiana really got it all wrong somehow. And sadly, most folk there, certainly most folk in rural Indiana, defiantly feel quite the opposite.

There are good people in Indiana. They stick out. My family seem like bolsheviks in their liberal views and acceptance compared to most everything and everyone around them. They seem radical. And they are simply open, kind, accepting people. But this is an exception in their town.

About 4 years ago I was visiting my family and found myself in a Wal-Mart. Lo and behold as I walked down an aisle a sad young man looked right at me and simply said FAG. With a cold and dangerous reading: FAG. At first I was really just shocked. I hadn't been called fag in over 20/25 years. FAG?? It seemed so old-fashioned. So dated an insult to me. FAG? FAG??

Only when later walking to the car did I realize--Well. I did ask for it. Look at me. I was wearing pink argyle socks. Pink argyle socks. FAG. I hadn't thought anything when I put them on that day except that I was putting on socks. But no. My god. FAG. Did I have to shove it down his throat? It was his Wal-Mart. It was his state. What was I thinking? FAG, Truthfully it was more surprising than hurtful. Though again, sad.

And just a few hours away from that Wal-mart there is Kokomo, Indiana. The town famous for not allowing Ryan White to come back into the school system because he had AIDS in1986. The town that then subsequently harassed him and his family until they were forced to move out of the town because he had AIDS. With the final straw being an anonymous bullet fired into their living room window. Thank goodness the family were not home at the time. The community literally forced this family out of their town. Kokomo. Once again, welcome to Indiana.

The small oasis I have found is Bloomington, Indiana. It has actually become a popular midwest place to retire of all things. Bloomington, because of IU is quite an excellent place. It is this dot of excited blue in the middle of all of this angry red. It has a diversity, arts, intellectual connection, difference, possibility, and LIFE. It feels very different than most other places in Indiana. It feels normal to me. Versus how I feel most anywhere else in the state.

At the end of the day, the feelings that seem to be most prevalent in the state of Indiana are ones of judgement, meanness, and sadly, hopelessness.

Pence embodies all of those things. To the letter. His hopelessness now has morphed into a dangerous mad delusion. But he is still equally hopeless. And God (not his god, but God God) help us.

by Anonymousreply 56August 25, 2018 9:26 PM

Look what I found. Is Pence grabbing Laura's ass?

Ah Martinsville, right,R56? I was in grad school in Bllomington from '88 to '93. Two stories about M'ville. A black classmate was expecting a visit from a black friend from Indy. She was delayed. Her friend was driving a minivan with twin toddlers strapped in their baby carriers in the back seat. The van slid off the road into the median right by the Larry Bird dealership. Some people in passing cars rolled down their windows to yell "N_____ bitch!" Did I mention this was during an ice storm?

Other incident: One the highway on the other side of M'ville that ends close to the airport. A Japanese grad student from our department and his Caucasian wife were driving to Indy when a couple of guys in a pickup slowed and looked down into the car and then sped off. The couple puttered along (it's a scenic route) came over a hill and down on the dip the rednecks were standing by the side of the road with their shotguns pointed at their car! Holy fuck! Can you imagine?

I was involved in a bashing outside of Bullwinkle's (is it still there?). A classmate had his friend visiting from NYC. We were walking up to the door and I noticed a couple of guys who looked like they didn't belong (unkempt, long stringy hair, jeans coming halfway down their butts). Suddenly, they sprang up with a flurry of fists and ran away. I didn't get hit. I guess I wasn't dykey looking enough. A couple of years later I was in line at Kroger on the other side of town when I heard the bagger complaining to the cashier about the faggots Bullwinkle's and how he'd like to "shoot it up" I am not kidding. I complained to the manager on duty. I don't know what he did, but I can assure you if it happened now, I'd drive straight to the police station and file a complaint about a potential mass shooting incident.

Bloomington is an oasis in the truest sense. The surrounding areas were scary. I'm from California and I thought I was moving to the Midwest, but I moved to fucking Appalachia northwest (lots of migration from App.) I was shocked. Every so often you'd encounter some folks who you knew were the product of inbreeding. Another classmate from Peru and her husband called them "Consans" as in consanguinity. One of the profs in my department who studied cystic fibrosis, a recessive gene trait disease, found a high prevalence and a larger subject pool than other locations.

Sorry for the tl;dr.

by Anonymousreply 58August 25, 2018 10:15 PM

I watched a clip of his bizarre speech about the U.S goal to maintain a permanent presence ON and AROUND the moon. He has clearly had a major refresh. His skin is baby smooth and wrinkle free with a hint of very natural tan. The silver hued Lego hair was perfectly barbered and he looks fit as a fiddle. He is definitely getting ready for his big close-up. He had a bit of trouble reading from the teleprompter so the facade of the polished and letter perfect politician slipped a bit but he sounds and looks like a Hollywood version of an American President which will bode well for the Republicans and means the rest of us are fucked.

by Anonymousreply 59August 25, 2018 10:16 PM

This thread is extremely interesting. The anectodal stories just fire me up. But if Trump goes, Pence is still tainted. He did approve Flynn.

by Anonymousreply 60August 25, 2018 10:46 PM

by Anonymousreply 63August 25, 2018 11:58 PM

Apparently, Pence is the only "official" invitee from the Trump administration. I expect Melania will attend as a matter of course as she is the Vraist Leddy and she was, at least, a graceful presence at Barbara Bush's funeral and welcomed in the first pew. I cannot wait to observe Pence's behavior during the proceedings or his exclusion from informal pictures.

McCain's choice of his opponents Obama and the Shrub as eulogy speakers is really interesting, if not statesmanlike. The Senatrice Lindsey must be beside itself about the exclusion.

by Anonymousreply 67August 27, 2018 12:22 AM

R67, consider the new Supreme Court next month and ask that question again.

I like the approach that someone mentioned upthread. Keep Trump in office, and defeat him in the next election. Because Pence is worse. There are two problems with this approach though: Trump may win a second term. And I am not sure voters would understand why a House majority doesn't opt for impeachment if Mueller makes a clear case for major felonies committed by Trump.

by Anonymousreply 72August 30, 2018 12:03 AM

R58 Sorry I didn't see your response until now. Yes. Martinsville. Scary and scary. So sorry about the stories with your friends and that area. It was a stop between the airport and Bloomington. But McDonalds was as far as one ventured. And usually the drive-thru. Crazy.

And how awful about the incident you had a Bullwinkle's. Which is indeed gone. You reminded me how as a kid I used to hear stories about guys hanging out in the parking lot of Bullwinkle's to "bash the queers". It is so mad the things I grew up hearing and just accepting as normal. It didn't horrify me. I mean, it did on some level. But it didn't ever shock me to know what when on in Martinsville. Or to hear guys bragging about "bashing queers".

As I said in the other post, my family was nothing like this. These sort of things were not acceptable or normal in my family. But there we were. Surrounded by that kind of behavior and thinking. I got out of there as soon as I graduated from High School. And other than visiting family, never looked back. Nice to hear though that Bloomington also was a good place to you during your time in school, other than the awful Bullwinkle's moment. Thanks.
