It's possible, but even if he was blacklisted by Hollywood he'd still be able to get theatre work or Brit screen work. He's still active on the London theatre and society scene (is heavily involved with RADA and BAFTA, was sitting in the royal box at Wimbledon, and attended a few other high society events) plus Gemma Arterton's production company asked him to be in the short. I work in theatre in London. Tom's reputation is broadly: very nice guy, but ruthlessly ambitious. No one knows why he abruptly quit acting and turned hermit. He is still sort of active in the theatre world in terms of doing mentoring through RADA and BAFTA, and he's done stuff with BAFTA Kids which was sweet. If he wanted a theatre role he could get one very easily. He evidently does not, at least not right now.

For whomever asked, I've never met Richard Armitage so no gossip there. I know a couple of people who've worked with Ralph Fiennes and they both said he's a total drama queen arsehole, and one person I know who worked on A&C said Sophie is a far better actor than him.

You are correct. He was on a few episodes of Wallander. Branagh also cast him in a bit part for the movie Conspiracy, and of course in the Chekov play and Thor. There were rumors last year that they would work together again in a production of Hamlet, so they are still on good terms.

Actually Tom played Mitch in the Streetcar Named Desire production in college not Stanley.

He was graduating RADA the year I did a summer course there. I knew his ex-girlfriend who was very nice and said he was too. She also described him as "very British" whatever that means. (I"m American.)

He was clearly one of their "star" students. He had the lead in the graduation play. I spoke to him a bit and he seemed very nice. His star rose pretty quickly thru the British theater and then into films.
