My mother was a terrible mother. She spent my childhood drunk, screaming at me for hours and hours, doing crazy, unhinged things to my life/friendships/property, throwing me out on the street and standing there watching while my father regularly viciously beat me. I have one younger sibling - a sister - who they didn't do any of this to.

Eventually I was sent to boarding school at 13 and only returned home again for school breaks (or went to stay with friends whenever possible) and then eventually left the country at age 18 and never returned. Somehow I survived.
