Hawaii eruption and major earthquake
by Anonymous | reply 62 | May 22, 2018 2:37 AM |
i'm afraid Hawaii will be eating by the volcanoes little by little as time passes.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 5, 2018 6:16 AM |
Eating by the volcanoes on a lovely Sunday picnic.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 5, 2018 6:21 AM |
^ Either this or the continual after effects of Fukushima.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 5, 2018 6:22 AM |
I'm not Hawaiian, but I have no desire to be eating by volcanoes.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 5, 2018 6:25 AM |
I was eating by a volcano and that pesky lava came along and buried my tea set!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 5, 2018 6:36 AM |
Is it all gone now?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 5, 2018 7:11 AM |
Or eating radioactive seafood from Japan, r4.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 5, 2018 7:17 AM |
Wow that's amazing considering that the Hawaiian Islands are volcanoes, who would've thought it.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 5, 2018 8:26 AM |
Well, we've had two members who've indicated they live in Hawaii, with one on the Big Island. Hope you guys are okay!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 5, 2018 8:34 AM |
I hope the weather permits everybody to surf to safety!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 5, 2018 8:38 AM |
The Volcano effects less than 1 percent of the hawaii population Too much Rain this spring has been a bigger problem for the islands..
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 5, 2018 8:51 AM |
Details, anybody?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 5, 2018 9:30 AM |
r13 - Google is your best friend,
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 6, 2018 12:07 AM |
Not in this case. Coverage is paltry
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 6, 2018 1:48 AM |
Because it is a non story, some lava came out and a few earthquakes , dumb people that decided to live close to an active volcano had to evacuate, that is all.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 6, 2018 2:23 AM |
Not to worry, it is god's will.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 6, 2018 2:26 AM |
Can someone on site tell me how close to Kona the flows are? Not able to find this info.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 6, 2018 6:52 PM |
Is Hawaii still there?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 6, 2018 6:55 PM |
THANK GAWD we've been approved for admittance into the "DL Fallout Shelter" !
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 6, 2018 7:39 PM |
Hot spots are not generally associated with the interaction or movement of Earth’s tectonic plates. For this reason, many geologists do not consider hot spot volcanoes part of the Ring of Fire.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 6, 2018 7:45 PM |
Regardless of what Geologists recognize as 'The Ring of Fire,' volcanoes are ERUPTING IN HAWAII, RIGHT NOW!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 6, 2018 8:04 PM |
There are no homosexuals in Hawai’i.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 6, 2018 8:07 PM |
And it burns, burns, burns; that ring of fire, that ring of fire.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 6, 2018 8:12 PM |
R13, Here's some coverage about last month's floods. There was even a herd of bison that was affected, with one bison swimming into the ocean (bison in Hawaii? who knew/)
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 6, 2018 8:53 PM |
We have wallabys here too
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 6, 2018 9:01 PM |
i have a friend who swears he saw a bobcat
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 6, 2018 9:01 PM |
This, Hawaii's volcanic eruptions, floods, earthquakes, is terrible news. I had hoped to retire there. Wish I could have retired there in the '80's/'90's.
I have friends who live there, '80's/'90's, now); they say the weather is not what it once was, but it's still beautiful.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 6, 2018 9:26 PM |
Not a good place for property investments, r31.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 6, 2018 9:32 PM |
You can still retire here, the rain has only been bad on Kauai ,which is the wettest place in the country. The volcano is only dangerous if you live near it, only effects 1,000 people. my sister lives on the big island in Kona and she didn't even feel the earthquakes much but the vog from the volcano is a problem if you have asthma.
on oahu nothing happens.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 6, 2018 9:48 PM |
The weather on oahu has actually been better than I can remember, usually by now it is pretty humid but it has been cool and breezy since October.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 6, 2018 9:52 PM |
Johnny Cash predicted this!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 6, 2018 9:58 PM |
R27 - I would intentionally put myself in harms way to be rescued by him.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 6, 2018 10:28 PM |
There's a name for people like you, r37. S***!!!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 6, 2018 10:31 PM |
I know this is a stupid question but what is the Big Island that's constantly referred to in newscasts? Is that the Island of Hawaii or something totally different?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 6, 2018 10:35 PM |
^^^ Same the same. It’s much bigger that any of the other Hawaiian islands—and getting bigger as we speak.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 6, 2018 10:42 PM |
There are 8 islands the big one with all the volcanoes is four times bigger than any of the other islands and is called Hawai'i just like the entire state. It can be confusing so the locals here just call it the Big island.
Oahu is the one with the biggest population and where they shoot most of hawaii 5-0, and has waikiki, diamondhead, north shore etc.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 6, 2018 10:42 PM |
I like when Dog the Bounty Hunter flies between islands to put meth heads back in jail.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 6, 2018 11:54 PM |

What's on Kilauea's ipod?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 7, 2018 2:26 AM |
Stop in the name of lava!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 7, 2018 2:28 AM |
And let us all pray for the safety of all the celebrities on HI too OP.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 7, 2018 2:32 AM |
Do You Believe In Magma?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 8, 2018 4:03 AM |
I'm in Kona. We're totally safe from lava but experiencing earthquake, horrid air quality and acid rain. Heading down to Luna tomorrow to help where I can. Rest of the state unaffected and open for business!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 10, 2018 1:03 AM |
It's so cool how the lava flows into the ocean and makes the island bigger.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 10, 2018 1:24 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 16, 2018 6:42 AM |
I'm worried about an older friend who lives on his own near Kona. His asthma is pretty bad and i can't reach him by phone. Is the air quality on the south side of Kona bad?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 16, 2018 6:51 AM |
^^^ Kailua-Kona or down where the Kona coffee farms are?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 16, 2018 7:43 AM |
Is it me or do you guys find this handsome news broadcaster less attractive when he speaks? When he remains stone faced, he's hot, but the minute he opens his mouth, the hotness evaporates. And when he turns to profile, forget it.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 22, 2018 1:56 AM |
What an incredible red. It looks like bright paint.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 22, 2018 1:59 AM |
R56 I’d still fuck him bad profile or not
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 22, 2018 2:01 AM |
Any issues near captain cook?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 22, 2018 2:04 AM |
I know it sounds insensitive to say that it's beautiful, but it really is. Something can be scary and beautiful at the same time.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 22, 2018 2:08 AM |
^ Yeah, it is. Even MORE beautiful the further away you are from an agonizing, burning death by boiling lava.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | May 22, 2018 2:29 AM |
R56 = spinster
