I agree with you! Calpernia's transition was perfect! But keep in mind that "Lola" was released in 1970. Back there transpeople who wanted to align mind and body had little resources, their truths being denied or considered an illness by some. Clothes usually look better on the second type, so a fashion person would naturally choose it over the other one.

I also think that's one of the reasons Lee is looking thin nowadays. He worked out for the nude scene and he keeps himself skinny to show it off better. Also because with his large frame, if he has a lot of muscle but isn't thin, he'll look a bit heavy. I hadn’t planned on writing this comment but the moment I saw the interview with Lee and James it left me no choice. He mentioned the play requires 100% focus and concentration. I saw the play and sorry to say but I’m greatly disappointed in his acting. I had high hopes and was optimistic going to see it based on the enthusiastic reviews he got and I was excited to see him for the first time live. Unfortunately his acting left me highly disappointed. The performances of the cast were brilliant and believable and sorry to say except for his. To me he was the worst one. In my opinion he stood out as the weakest cast member although his character had the juiciest story line. Any actor could have really sunken their teeth into such a role. He had good moments but mostly he was simply reciting his lines. It was sad to see and I felt secondhand embarrassment watching it. During the intermissions I noticed he was always on Instagram liking Thom Browne posts so he most certainly wasn’t as focused as he stated in that interview with James M. I may only guess that TB and what was going on on Instagram was his main focus while doing the play. So maybe if he wasn’t distracted by that his performance would have been better. Or maybe he just had a bad day. He should take his own words seriously about 100% focus for the play out of respect of the rest of the cast and the audience and the director and Tony Kushner. In general I liked the play very much but mainly because of the brilliant performances of the rest of the cast, but not his.

Yes he could’ve been talking about Carter. I think he lived with him and he followed him on insta for a while (not that means anything). He could’ve been the big difficult break up he was talking about. I think the Richlee shippers created a somewhat fantasy relationship.
