Saw ANGELS IN AMERICA on Bway--Got to see Lee Pace's weiner!!

I watched both parts of Angels in America yesterday on Broadway. The production is fantastic and hold together all the swirling themes that this 7 hour play embodies.

I saw lots of celebrities--even used the urinal right after David Duchovny--he's looking old at 58!

There a scene in which Lee Pace takes off all his clothes and runs around. He has a great body and a not-so-bad peenie. I had no idea how tall Pace is--6'5"

The play is a Phenomenal experience.

by Anonymousreply 105May 15, 2018 11:43 AM

You mean "wiener"?

by Anonymousreply 1April 19, 2018 6:00 PM

nice! thanks for the update. anything else you observed/would like to describe is welcome.

by Anonymousreply 2April 19, 2018 6:02 PM

Good for Lee Pace for having some balls. Russell Tovey was not willing to show his dick in the role.

by Anonymousreply 3April 19, 2018 6:03 PM

Thank you, OP. I have a nice visual that should last me until I get tickets.

by Anonymousreply 4April 19, 2018 6:03 PM

I want to see this Pace person's naked body. Likn please

by Anonymousreply 5April 19, 2018 6:03 PM

Why is there no Garfield dong? That's the only thing that could make me sit through this a fourth time.

by Anonymousreply 6April 19, 2018 6:04 PM
Likn please

Here you go.

by Anonymousreply 7April 19, 2018 6:05 PM

Dong is life.

by Anonymousreply 8April 19, 2018 6:08 PM

If you're gonna brag at least tell us how big is his peenie and how long was it exposed on stage? Did it flap about? How close were you? Was there a reaction from the audience?

by Anonymousreply 9April 19, 2018 6:25 PM

You people are so obsessed with penises it's like you don't have any.

by Anonymousreply 10April 19, 2018 10:18 PM

I have a penis, r10. But it is my penis, with which I am utterly familiar. Andrew Garfield's penis is one I've never seen before. Of course I'm interested.

You're not a gay man, are you? Or if you are, you're one of those ass queens, right?

by Anonymousreply 11April 19, 2018 11:54 PM

Details details details I want details.

by Anonymousreply 12April 20, 2018 1:38 AM

No Garfield peenie. He takes off his shirt to show a nice chest, but no peenie

by Anonymousreply 13April 20, 2018 2:15 AM

The Angels in America done at the Signature Theatre in NYC about 7 years ago was excellent too. This one seems to have some new language. I think Kushner has continued to work on the second play.

Nathan Lane is fantastic too. He plays the same role he always does, but it fits perfectly. He's acting highlights so much of the humor in Roy Cohn's character that most others miss.

by Anonymousreply 14April 20, 2018 2:18 AM

I think Andrew Garfield overdoes the "gay" a bit, but he's still good.

by Anonymousreply 15April 20, 2018 2:18 AM

R13 I want details of lee's dick

by Anonymousreply 16April 20, 2018 2:19 AM

Lee's dick wasn't especially huge. It was soft, so difficult to know. He did look like he had big balls and a nice bush.

by Anonymousreply 17April 20, 2018 2:25 AM

Is he cut or uncut?

by Anonymousreply 18April 20, 2018 2:32 AM

FAIL!

by Anonymousreply 19April 20, 2018 2:35 AM

0/10

by Anonymousreply 20April 20, 2018 2:37 AM

It was difficult to to see since he was moving around the stage after he took his clothes off.

by Anonymousreply 21April 20, 2018 2:45 AM

Cut and very suckable.

Pace is extraordinarily handsome in person. Very tall with a nice (not overly muscular) body.

Richard is a very lucky man

by Anonymousreply 22April 20, 2018 2:46 AM

Is Lee's appendage eligible for a special Tony?

by Anonymousreply 23April 20, 2018 2:54 AM

"Peenie"? Ewww.

by Anonymousreply 24April 20, 2018 3:02 AM

Some of these posts seem straight out of 1998.

There are billions of naked men - AND THEIR PENISES - to be seen while surfing the cyber superhighway on the world wide web.

by Anonymousreply 25April 20, 2018 3:29 AM

Lees dick looked yummy

by Anonymousreply 26April 20, 2018 3:42 AM

i barely made it thru the first part.

so dam long

lee's cock was amasing tho, and his hot bod, i did see dat

(why can i not stand nathann land??

by Anonymousreply 27April 20, 2018 4:55 AM

I can't picture Lane as Cohn.

by Anonymousreply 28April 20, 2018 4:58 AM

R22 he’s not dating Richard anymore. He has a new boyfriend

by Anonymousreply 29April 20, 2018 7:42 AM
I think Andrew Garfield overdoes the "gay" a bit

Whatever do you mean?!!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 30April 20, 2018 7:54 AM

Lane had to restrain himself if he started chewing the scenery his character Max Bialystock from the producers came out.

by Anonymousreply 31April 20, 2018 12:05 PM
I can't picture Lane as Cohn.

It might have worked if I'd never seen Lane in anything. But no, he was not Roy Cohn. Every time he stops talking, I sensed he was waiting for laughs from the audience, as usually happens with Nathan Lane.

by Anonymousreply 32April 20, 2018 12:12 PM

Nathan Lane couldn't be anyone other than Nathan Lane. He's less Roy Cohn than a nasty Nathan Lane.

Garfield's shrieky minstrelsy got on my very last nerve! He seemed to be channeling Paul Lynde at times.

I liked the Taymoresque Angel best. The whole affair played more for laffs than in 1993.

by Anonymousreply 33April 20, 2018 1:38 PM

Andrew Garfield can do no wrong IYM.

by Anonymousreply 34April 20, 2018 1:42 PM

R11 I fuck a man, not his penis, so I'm more interested in a man's looks as a whole picture.

by Anonymousreply 35April 20, 2018 1:49 PM

r35, since I'm not going to get to fuck Andrew Garfield—unlike you, apparently—I have to settle for what I can look at. Penises included.

Are you that "I don't fuck body parts. I fuck feelings" weirdo?

by Anonymousreply 36April 20, 2018 1:52 PM

Garfield is ugly and obnoxious I don't see the appeal. He's also one of those virtue signal SJW parrot types. Unbearable. Not an original thought in his tiny head.

by Anonymousreply 37April 20, 2018 1:57 PM

R36 Who knows. I get around.

Nope, I just don't get the obsession with body parts. I mean, face, yep. A whole body, yep. But if you were a talented artist, would you want to draw a penis? Okay I get it when it's about a special man. You really like someone, maybe even in love with him, or find him beautiful, you want to know all about them. But the same people go to every penis thread or ask about them irl.

by Anonymousreply 38April 20, 2018 2:00 PM

Anyway something did get me curious. He's 6'5, then means unless he is extremely well endowed with a length just as unusual as his towering height, it wouldn't look big at all. So--did it?

by Anonymousreply 39April 20, 2018 2:04 PM

R39 No, it looked like he stepped out of a cold bath.

by Anonymousreply 40April 20, 2018 2:55 PM

R40 Shivering? xd

by Anonymousreply 41April 21, 2018 12:06 PM

If Lee Pace stepped out of my cold bath, I would waste no time in warming him and his weiner/wiener.

by Anonymousreply 42April 21, 2018 12:13 PM

Nathan Lane was great! He made the part funny and empathetic, something I’ve nevr seen before.

Sure Lane basically plays the same character no matter what play he does, but it fit well this time.

by Anonymousreply 43April 21, 2018 12:14 PM
Richard is a very lucky man

*bursts into tears*

by Anonymousreply 44April 21, 2018 12:20 PM

R43 Cohn was not funny nor does that sack of putrid dead meat deserve our empathy. Check yourself

by Anonymousreply 45April 21, 2018 12:25 PM

Seeing both parts today, looking forward to it.

by Anonymousreply 46April 21, 2018 12:36 PM

R46 Don't forget to come back afterwards and spill all the tea.

by Anonymousreply 47April 21, 2018 12:38 PM

R47 imagines Lee and Andrew are going to sit and gossip with r46?

by Anonymousreply 48April 21, 2018 12:39 PM

R42 Yeah looking at his pics dressed, he must have an amazing body.

by Anonymousreply 49April 21, 2018 12:39 PM
I saw lots of celebrities--even used the urinal right after David Duchovny--he's looking old at 58!

Did you say anything to him? And is he short in person?

by Anonymousreply 50April 21, 2018 12:43 PM

F&F for R7. What kind of backwoods hick buys Broadway tickets through Broadway.com? The fees are nearly $40 a ticket!

by Anonymousreply 51April 21, 2018 12:45 PM

Where do you buy them, r51? Tell us. Please.

by Anonymousreply 52April 21, 2018 12:46 PM

Sadly, disappointing. Saw the original in LA in 1992/1993. Incredible! This version has major vocal issues: tons of screaming with no vocal support, so its a mess. Pace and the women who play the angel and Harper are terrific, as is the Belize actor. Nathan Lane is playing Nathan Lane playing someone mean....but he doesn't let that stand in the way of the schtick to get the laughs (Ron Liebeman played Cohn in LA and was truly magnificent and terrifying. Al Pacino's version is the HBO special was incredible). Garfield adopted a bizarre vocal style that made him appear to be channeling Vivian Leigh in Street Car Named Desire...complete with constant pearl clutching. Its still an incredible piece of work and hard work for the actors. I just wish they had been helped to make better choices vocally and otherwise. :(

by Anonymousreply 53April 21, 2018 1:51 PM

Lane too Irish, despite first name.

by Anonymousreply 54April 21, 2018 1:52 PM

Nathan is not his first name. If I recall correctly, it is Joseph. He actually took the name from Nathan Detroit.

by Anonymousreply 55April 21, 2018 1:54 PM

R53 What about the appendage in question?

by Anonymousreply 56April 21, 2018 1:55 PM

I saw it in London at the NT. I did not like it at all. Nathan was horrible and I never believed Garfield. The production was awful. I had seen the original Broadway, the Off-Broadway and, of course, the HBO several times. I am still surprised it crossed the pond. It is not doing very well at the box office.

by Anonymousreply 57April 21, 2018 1:56 PM

R57 Seems to be the critics' darling, though.

by Anonymousreply 58April 21, 2018 2:19 PM

Well R52 you don’t have to pay any fees if you go directly to the box office, but if you don’t want to do that, almost all shows are sold through Telecharge and Ticketmaster online and via telephone. You can also go to the TKTS booth for discounted tickets, if you’re cheap and want to buy day of (or day before for matinees). It is 2018, comparison shopping is pretty easy to do.

Now back to discussing Lee Pace’s member.

by Anonymousreply 59April 21, 2018 2:38 PM

r45, that’s the genius of Lane’s portrayal- he shows Cohn as a full human being. Personable yet a piece of shit

by Anonymousreply 60April 21, 2018 3:30 PM

It’s always so pathetic when the chorus of gays come out with, “I saw the original and la-dee-da...”

by Anonymousreply 61April 21, 2018 3:32 PM

R50 Duchovny seems like he’s about 5’10 or so

by Anonymousreply 62April 21, 2018 3:33 PM

R53 here again....I didn't buy Lane or Garfield for a minute. Its just not credible. Both are fine actors, and Lane in BIRDCAGE is pure genius. From LA to NYC to the HBO special, I still think the HBO is the knockout. Mary Louis Parker, Streep, Pacino, Emma Thompson, Jeffrey Wright. POWERHOUSE.

Pace's piece: nice cock. If you were expecting a 12" baby arm to tumble out, then you will be disappointed. But seriously: is that the requirement now?

by Anonymousreply 63April 21, 2018 3:34 PM

Discounted. Why pay more?

by Anonymousreply 64April 21, 2018 3:57 PM

We already talked about this in the theatre thread like two threads ago. His penis does not deserve a thread. Penis was regular. Body was regular. Face looks old. Like pushing 50. That hard up guys?

by Anonymousreply 65April 21, 2018 4:04 PM

Garfield was born in the US but moved to England as an infant, right?

So is he cut or uncut?

by Anonymousreply 66April 21, 2018 4:12 PM

R63 Come on: details. It's not about the size but the general aesthetic.

by Anonymousreply 67April 21, 2018 4:26 PM

R65 Is that the impression he gives in person? I saw some video from the AiA premiere and no way he is pushing 50. Late thirties, handsome. That seems to be his real age too.

by Anonymousreply 68April 21, 2018 4:27 PM

^^^to me, yes. He looks very old. I'm 38 and we look at least 10 years apart.

by Anonymousreply 69April 21, 2018 4:34 PM

Mezzanine far from being sold out last Wednesday evening. You could probably do OK at the TKTS booth if you don't mind the time to get tix.

by Anonymousreply 70April 21, 2018 4:38 PM
Garfield was born in the US but moved to England as an infant, right? So is he cut or uncut?

Garfield is Jewish, so likely cut.

by Anonymousreply 71April 21, 2018 5:24 PM

R70 Come on, for those things nothing beats the front row. Close and personal.

by Anonymousreply 72April 21, 2018 5:42 PM

R65 He lost a lot of weight recently, I think it makes his face look harder, thus older.

by Anonymousreply 73April 21, 2018 5:53 PM

Pace looks especially sexy in the suit he wears most of the time during the play.

by Anonymousreply 74April 21, 2018 6:06 PM

R74 Even sexier than in the birthday suit? xd

by Anonymousreply 75April 21, 2018 6:09 PM
Lane in BIRDCAGE is pure genius.
I still think the HBO is the knockout.

Agreed, and thus again we salute Mike Nichols.

Saw the NT screening and thought Lane was solid but didn't bring enough to erase the indelible Pacino. Garfield's queen act didn't though jar for me and compelled in its own right.

Interested to read that it's not a hot ticket. Had a skirmish here re: the NT transfer when a poster was sure it would fail on B'way for plentiful reasons. Hope not, but doubtless 'I told you so' hovers.

by Anonymousreply 76April 21, 2018 6:26 PM

I like the old Broadway theatres. There are no urinal dividers. You can piss with the hoy poloi and sneak a pic at their dicks...and vice versa.

by Anonymousreply 77April 21, 2018 9:27 PM

This was the first time that, during Lane scenes in Perestroika, I thought the play really needed to be seriously trimmed down. The fucker never died, it took him like, three or four long scenes and instead of creating dramatic tension it just bored me to death. Die already! Maybe it is because I saw the two parts together on a Saturday but Perestroika really needs to be cut down.

I am surprised that the critics were so forgiving of the production's many flaws (design, costumes, accents....) Has the director ever been to Utah? Does she know how they look, speak and act (according to Kushner's stereotypical reading?) I so wish it was better but the play feels more like a relic and it should resonate even more today (not just the Trump-Reagan connection). The whole "The cracker who wrote the anthem" speech had no impact whatsoever when I saw it at the NT; I hope it lands better now.

by Anonymousreply 78April 22, 2018 10:54 AM

That line got applause at the performance I attended last Wednesday.

by Anonymousreply 79April 22, 2018 12:20 PM

That line, which should be a huge applause maker, just wasn’t said the right way in this production. There should have been a mild pause prior to saying it so it stands out. Instead it’s just said in a long running sentence.

by Anonymousreply 80April 22, 2018 12:26 PM

I thought the actor playing Belize would not cross the pond for sure.

by Anonymousreply 81April 22, 2018 2:17 PM

"Instead it’s just said in a long running sentence." [r80] It is truly an aria....the audience should explode. "just wasn’t said the right way in this production" I felt that most of the dialogue (again, I saw it in London) did not sound right. It is not just diction but the rhythms were wrong. Even Prior's beautiful closing monologue did not carry the necessary emotion and importance. But, I must have been the only one.

by Anonymousreply 82April 22, 2018 2:27 PM

Belize was the best one. The worst was the mother with her irish accent. Or whatever it is. So unprofessional. There were lots of slip ups with the nurse/angel too.

by Anonymousreply 83April 22, 2018 2:28 PM

Why didn't Tovey cross the pond? Not that I mind since I entered the thread for Pace impressions but still.

by Anonymousreply 84April 22, 2018 3:01 PM

R84, because Americans demand dong. Tovey only wanted to show ass.

by Anonymousreply 85April 22, 2018 3:02 PM

ANGELS AND GYPSY----2 SHOWS I COULD WAIT ANOTHER DECADE TO SEE

by Anonymousreply 86April 22, 2018 3:12 PM

R85 Even if said dong is magnificent I doubt people sit there for 7 hours just to see one minute of it.

by Anonymousreply 87April 22, 2018 3:19 PM

I hate "cross the pond." I wish it would stay on one side or the other.

by Anonymousreply 88April 22, 2018 3:23 PM

I sat through 7 hours of the filmed version in hopes of seeing Garfield dong. So frustrating.

by Anonymousreply 89April 22, 2018 3:28 PM

Grease that donger up dude!

by Anonymousreply 90April 22, 2018 4:56 PM

Tovey's TV show, Quantico, resumed production and he had to be on the west coast for filming.

by Anonymousreply 91April 22, 2018 10:03 PM

What about David Duchovny's penis?

by Anonymousreply 92April 22, 2018 10:08 PM

r91 As has already been stated numerous times, "Quantico" films in New York.

by Anonymousreply 93April 23, 2018 1:10 AM

First: Is there a Whovian in the house? There's something bugging me: during Russell Tovey's (Joe Pitt's) nude scene in England, has anyone screamed "Allons-y, Alonso!"?

Second: so far, how many boys/girls have fallen from the mezzanine during Lee's nude scene?

Third: (a serious one) Does Lee have real chances to be nominated for a Tony as Featured Actor?

by Anonymousreply 94April 24, 2018 10:14 AM

And the Tony for "Best Penis in a Featured Role" goes to ...

by Anonymousreply 95April 24, 2018 10:32 AM

R95

I haven't seen it. (*sighs*) But, according to reports, there's no doubt this award belongs to Lee's. Some say it's shy and introvert, that it should be more enthusiastic; that it chose a too low profile approach to its role. (Although, it's been said that it warmed up quite a bit during the first performances.) One thing, however, cannot be denied: the audience loves its 20s 'tour de force"! (lol)

by Anonymousreply 96April 24, 2018 11:30 AM

Weiner. Peenie.

How old are you boys? 5 ?

by Anonymousreply 97April 24, 2018 11:33 AM

Wiener, R97.

by Anonymousreply 98April 24, 2018 12:10 PM

This revival was DOA with Brit actors and Garfield. Everyone who wanted to see it saw it on the broadcast. Revive like the original with gay actors and we’ll talk.

by Anonymousreply 99April 24, 2018 4:14 PM

I also saw the UK cast on broadcast. Speaking of bad accents. I thought Tovey's was quite bad, and I am a fan. Agreed on most things said about Lane doing Lane and Garfield channeling some Zsa Zsa Gabor affect. Would be interested to see Pace in this.

by Anonymousreply 100April 24, 2018 4:29 PM

You were not, R82.

by Anonymousreply 101April 24, 2018 4:31 PM

More weiner deets urgently required.

by Anonymousreply 102May 4, 2018 10:20 PM

r92, David Duchovny flashes his dick for about one second in [bold]The Rapture[/bold] (1991) and there's a nice close-up ass shot as he plops into bed which offers an excellent rear view of his jiggling junk. Mimi Rogers stars in this. I watched it once on vcr many years ago and can't remember anything about it, not even the rapture parts.

by Anonymousreply 103May 5, 2018 3:36 AM

Lee Pace had a semi

by Anonymousreply 104May 15, 2018 10:26 AM
