Later Eric turned out to be Susan's hunky new bf Greg Peter's brother.

R115 Yes, and no. When Y&R first cut Rikaart, there was no mention of him being bumped to recurring status. His Kevin character was written off, and they actually had him packing up and leaving Genoa City and moving away to Portland, Oregon. He was getting out of town to be with Chloe, Liz Hendrickson's character (whom everyone thinks is dead), and the two were going to start over there. Chloe even had a new identity. At best, reports back then simply indicated that, because Kevin wasn't being killed off, Rikaart's character could return some day. His first time back was about 10 weeks later. It seemed obvious that the only reason they brought him back was to play gay Greg in the tentative lesbian storyline with him being Mariah's confidante as she told him about her feelings for Tessa. (The other computer hacking that Kevin did during this visit could have easily been done by an underfive.) And because he's been back twice since, he's now referred to as "recurring." The funny thing is, he still can't mention Chloe when he shows up, because she's still supposed to be dead, and viewers wonder how Kevin keeps his young daughter, Bella, from saying anything to anyone about her mother.

He ran the European division after all this occurred. The Whoreton stans like to blame the writers for ruining Will but don't get the same thing has happened with Sonny. It's a hallmark of bad, lazy writing when characters are given instant personality transplants to further a plot.

Chad who previously was half owner in TBD agreed to paid off Sonny's debts in exchange for Sonny agreeing to sell his part ownership in TBD and owing Chad.

Greg Vaungh has angst/anger/frustration but that love triangle was so mediocre. Greg Rikaart and Anthony Montgomery have mostly weepy stuff. Wally Kurth is mostly smarmy/quirky in his reel. Chandler's reel does run long at 19 min... he could've cut out the Belle scene, which seems just there to reveal Will's past affair with Paul. It provides the background for the subsequent Paul scene, but didn't show much noteworthy acting.

I am hopeful for the future of this show and the ratings, because I think Ron is doing good work. However, I do believe that things would really improve if they just could find some way to get rid of the 6 month lag time. If you even cut that in half, it would give the writers the opportunity to more quickly respond to what's working and to fix what's not.

I was riveted by the 2003-2004 Salem serial killer storyline. In fact, I liked it so much, I deliberately avoided any spoilers because I wanted to be surprised. So, I avoided soap sites on the internet and just watched the show each day, the way it had been up until the late 80s when spoilers became common. I found I really enjoyed it so much more not knowing what was going to happen.

One day in January 2004, I'm standing in line at the grocery store and out of the corner of my eye, I see the new issue of Soap Digest with a picture of Marlena on the cover, holding a hockey mask (or some kind of mask) like the serial killer had been wearing. And the headline read "Days Killer Revealed."

WOW. Thanks so much for spoiling that big reveal! All my efforts to avoid spoilers gone to waste simply by standing in line at the grocery store. I impulsively grabbed the issue and read the accompanying story while I stood in line. I knew I was spoiling the fun by reading it, but my mouth was also dropping open with this news that the beloved Marlena was the killer.

And it was a full week later before Marlena was revealed on the show.

So irresponsible for them to reveal the killer so far in advance. And they wonder why ratings for soaps started falling a few years after spoilers became common. Yes, spoilers contributed significantly to the death of soaps.

I thought the storyline started off interestingly enough. Stefan seemed attracted to Abigail and I thought it was going to be interesting to see if he gained any traction with her over time. But just like that, Abigail had DID, and Stefan fell for the Gabby personality, which seemed more like an attraction of convenience since Abby wouldn't give him the time of day at the time so ... Gabby was willing. And this whole wanting to run away with her - it makes Stefan look weak and pathetic and somewhat disturbed himself, and this was only 4 months after being introduced on the canvas (we've barely started to get to know who Stefan is before he's showing us something completely contradictory to his introduction).

I was certainly hoping they weren't going to go there with Stefan and Gabby sleeping together, as I even thought about the rape implications (and don't get me wrong - Days isn't the show you should be watching to get your accurate portrayals of anything, much less medical related stories, but the whole sleeping with an alter just seemed icky to me). I was thinking they would wait until the personalties were integrated and Abby had to deal with the obvious attraction she had to Stefan buried away in the Gabby personality.

Because at the end of the day, the introduction of Stefan all seemed to be a backup plan in case Billy Flynn decided to leave Days in 2018 (when his contract is thought to be up). Haven't heard anything but the way Chad has become a supporting character to this storyline just adds to my belief they were prepping to write him out if need be.

The problem is lack of screen time to properly advance the story so every time the're on, things have moved forward without our actually witnessing much of it.

Monday's episode was so good. Less soapy and more primetime though, still amazing. The scenes with the golden girls was done well. Vivian is fantastic on canvas and I wish she was staying as a contract worker. Kate combating with females half her age was never as fun for me as it is watching her and Vivian go at it.

R522, I agree, It was a good show. The scenes with the old broads were funny. Vivian looking through the clothes on the rack against the wall like she was at a store. The making fun of Laura Horton...It was good stuff.

Will in turn wants to know if there are any consequences to drugs used on him and while following this story could begin the journey of Will rediscovering his own memories.

I would've preferred amnesiac-Will for the unforeseeable future and see him go about life with new storylines that aren't limited to his bedroom with Paul and his non-relationship with Sonny. Will losing his memories provided so much potential material for the writers, a clean slate. But instead they've decided do nothing with him and then shove him back to Sonny? What a waste.

While I agree they were never the same character, the two Kate’s seem to have been merged.

Characters on the same soap should never have the same first name.

I remember when Kate first showed up and they did that story about Jennifer's house and Kate's mystery. I remember my Grandma saying that Bill Horton had an affair with a woman named Kate who worked at the hospital. They jostled some history around and did a little retcon, but the essence of the two characters are the same.

Kate Winograd was a doctor. Kate Roberts has never been a doctor. 2 different characters.
