I've only watched a few shoes and it seems to be a very peculiar soap. Very slow, almost glacial. The acting is risible, but the writing is even worse. There are some hunky guys to look at, and the adventures of Chambo can be entertaining but, wow, could it be any worse?

Afterwards Paul will ask Will if he's okay as the sheets are tucked over Will's spectacular pecs. Will will say something like, "I never could have imagined it would be like this. This is just one of the the problems with this show. Too many things apparently happen off screen creating confusion and the sense that you missed an episode or two. Haven't there been previous scenes where this was revealed to him? This is what happens when a story is being told every other week.

Thursday show was boring, but I tuned in on Friday to see they showed the JJ with a shocked expression. I thought this was a dream, but evidently, I must have FF'd too much of Thursday's episode.

Still, great show on Friday. So far, these new writers are doing an excellent job.

I don't think that's fair R232. Soap fans have been programmed for years to expect male leads to look a certain way. While Freddie Smith may not be "straight real world" fat he is most definitely "soap opera" fat and most definitely gay fat. Our current headwriter, whom I think is doing a great job by the way, on his last show wrote fat jokes about a character. I do think the actor has some kind of condition that causes his weight to be all over the map, but it also may be due to his alleged drinking.

Freddie's body doesn't look fat in clothes. He has a bit of a double chin in some shots but when your weight has gone up and down that problem often can't be corrected except by surgery.

People here think it's the height of hilarity to pretend he's a Kevin James lookalike. It's really tired and obviously involves a lot of projection from humor-impared butterballs.

The writing for Will/Paul is so cringeworthy, I'd be laughing through my scenes too if I were them. I find their current storyline to be the laziest writing I've seen on the canvas in a while. What are the writers smoking, any man would've ran in the opposite direction the second Will mentioned his allowance help from his mommy on their first date. Instead, Paul finds Will's empty wallet and unemployment to be a turn on? This is a joke.

I'm sure there could've been more realistic angles to set up Will's push for a job at Spectator.

I find Will and Paul to be fun and a couple I can really root for. I just wish that Will would never get his memories back so that we don’t have to tortured with a triangle with Blonny.

Another good week of shows. I love that Dr. Laura. She is one bitch who doesn't play. Love, love, love Will and Paul. Great scenes and they are so cute together. 1) The guy playing Chad needs to take it down two or three notches. People complain about Chandler smirking, but Billy Flynn - ugh. He's either about to burst out laughing or is on coke or forgot his ADD meds. He needs to tone it the fuck down.

2) I love the Stefan character, but I find it odd that everyone in town thinks he's worse than Hitler and he's only been in town for like 12 weeks. R530 I thought that scene was the weak because it felt truncated. Should show them getting into the room and a bit more of them in the actual bed. I think the scene should start with them kissing outside the door and Will fumbling to open the door, and then they strip shirtless and fall into bed. With Paul on top kissing Will, zoom in as Paul breaks the kiss and ask "are you sure?" and Will pulls him down to continue the kiss. Ending the scene there would seem natural. No need to pan to the floor.

I know this question is about three years too late, but how the hell is Paul the son of John Black? He's too young to have been conceived before John came to Salem in 1986. I understand the concept of retconning, but did the show give any kind of plausible explanation? (I know, we are talking about DAYS here -- humor me).

John and Tori had an affair but then he reconciled with Marlena and Tori did not tell him she was pregnant, but moved back to Japan (or San Francisco). She told Paul that his father abandoned her rather than tell him the truth that she was the one who did not tell John.

No, Brady is older than Paul. Again, it was nebulous as to which "break" John and Marlena were on when this happened. It could even be 1991 when Roman and Marlena reunited when Wayne Northrop returned to the show.

Even though Brady is born later, Brady is still older than Paul. Just like EJ is now older than Will despite being born many years after Will was born onscreen.

The idea of Paul really pissed me off because they said it was during the time between the end of Maison Blanche and when John first discovered that he was a priest. After Isabella died, John and Marlena had their affair. Then Marlena got pregnant, Sami changed the DNA test and Marlena told John that he had to move on. John was already kinda/sorta seeing a woman named Rebecca Morrison who was the DA or something.

While John is with Rebecca and after Marlena told him that he needed to move on John decides to focus on Rebecca, but Kristen enters his life and they are drawn to each other. Rebecca realizes that she will never have John and leaves town, but warns that Kristen is shady. Kristen and John began their romance but Kristin was lying about being the daughter of Stefano. John discovers this and it blows up his world. Stefano is now back on the scenes causing all kinds of mess for John. Stefano was also determined that Kristin would marry "Tony".

The truth about Belle comes out and Kristin marries Tony. It is around time that John discovers some info about his past that leads him to Maison Blanche. This is when Stefano traps John and Marlena at Maison Blanche and we are introduced to Celeste and "Gina". John and Marlena are rescued and Kristin learns the truth about Stefano being really evil and gets involved with John again.

So the only woman who could have had John's child was Rebecca the DA who was a brunette white lady. The only other Asian woman that has ever been on Days was Jasmine the Island Girl in the 80s. John Black's cock has been all over Salem, but Paul's mother was not in the established timeline and was sloppily worked in for whatever reason. I like Paul, so I've given it a pass now but that really irked me.

Basically, it's Brady born in 1992. Belle in 1993. Paul in 1994/5ish and most long time fans know what John was doing in 1994/5.

Actually, in the 1970s, Doug Williams' first wife, Kim, came to town several times. Kim was Asian and tried to cause trouble for Doug and Julie.

As I recall, it was Julie's mother Addie who brought Kim to town the first time. Addie seemed to enjoy causing problems in Julie's love life and during a time when Julie and Doug were on the outs, Addie swooped in and married Doug.

I was hoping they would make Kim and Doug into Paul's grandparents.

When Marland learned that Eileen Fulton had taken a break in between the end of My Private World and returning to ATWT, he wrote that Lisa had a baby during that time away - Scott.

The worst example was GH casting that Josh Dushon Duschon something like that; and he was Scott's son! But we had no idea who the mother was or when this kid was conceived.

Another bad move was Luke cheating on Laura all those years and he made Ethan with Holly; again, he could have been Holly's miscarriage at least. That child was conceived when Luke thought Laura was dead.

One that made sense was tying Steve Hardy to the Webbers by making Steve the bio pop of Jeff. I must have heard the names "Lars" and "Helene" (were having problems and that's when she turned to Steve). Another Marland idea.

That was the best example, in my opinion, of using history to create new story.

I don't mind the Eli retcon. That worked alright and made sense because both characters were off screen for so long. But Eli's story would be a lot more interesting if they brought Scotty Banning back. And Scotty has been off screen for so long that they can create all kinds of new story for him.
